Oh boy. A person almost needs danger money to get this cache. Between the prickles and the millions of ants, it is a dedicated cacher who gets their name in the log. Or maybe just as stupid as me. TFTC TNLN SL

Finished another long trip around Australia. The 6th. Finished trip to Townsville to grab the Palm Island LGA. Now only 2 LGAs to complete Australia.Firstly heading back south for some Canberra time.TFTC. Today I was to try harder to get more kms down the road south.First I needed a specific cache to complete my next d/t round. This ended up being a trail, so took a while. My navigator then took me cross country and I ended up on a "no caravans" road with my caravan. It was a long and windy trip. This took me to Queen Mary Falls, which made it worth it.Lots of other excellent caches along the way.Nice quick stop. Lots of black ants.

Been working around Canungra for a couple of months and on the road back home to Manda in Adelaide. Traffic was backed up behind a slow tower so perfect opportunity to pull a quick detour and make a quick easy grab on the way past. TFTC

A nice early visit on the way to church in Boonah today.I didnt want to trust the coords but I should have. The thorns have grown up since the cache was placed (I assume) and man o man, the ants were swarming today. Tip: the lid comes off after twisting!I was still swatting ants and spiders off me some minutes later but the cache is in good shape despite the insect attention. TFTC which still has very festive contents.

Headed out this morning with a view to finding a bunch of caches in a particular LGA in search of working my way through a challenge cache not to far from home.Unfortunately on arrival to the first cache on the radar for the day, the skys opened up and I was drenched.Luckily it didnt take long to locate the prize make a mark and scurry back to the car to check the BOM in the hope that the weather clears soon.BuggerWithout a jacket or an umbrella. What was I thinking.

After hiking 14kms on the trails in Mt Joyce it was time to head home, there were a few caches on the other side of the dam to grab on the way.

It was a short detour here and I parked within 15m of the cache. Quickly located and signed the log.

It wasn’t my plan to visit Boonah and surrounds, but that’s where I’ve ended up…

This was a slight detour off the Ipswich-Boonah Road to collect this cache… I was so close on the weekend when we paddled Lake Wyaralong that it was worth the detour here…

A nice quick find… tftc…

This weekend, with a scheduled Mount Alford wedding, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I used the occasion to base ourselves at Boonah for a long weekend exploring the Scenic Rim vicinity.
On Friday, we took a short stop in Ipswich before arriving in Boonah staying in an ex-church accommodation.
On Saturday, we explored Mount French, Boonah, Lake Wyaralong, and then returned via Kalbar completing the *Churches of the Scenic Rim !* Adventure Lab.
On Sunday, we took a hike up Mount Greville, and after checking out a few stops along Reynolds Creek, we returned to Boonah for showers, before driving back home.

Today, we had a few activities planned, starting out with a morning drive up to Mount French for a short walk, and we got to see the awesome rock climbing walls. We then had a Boonah lunch geocaching event that was well attended. During the afternoon, we relaxed at a winery next to Lake Wyaralong, and then returned via Kalbar completing the *Churches of the Scenic Rim !* Adventure Lab. We also managed to make a quick stop at the sunflower farm as they started to flower whilst the season/timing was right.

Whilst returning back from the lake, we made a stop here, and I realised how cool a few kayaking caches would be launching from this area. However, it feels like the nearby road / turn-off is a favourite from hot-heads doing burn-outs all across the road.
Once we arrived at GZ, it took quite a bit of time in locating, as I was searching for this cache from the wrong angles. Eventually the cache was found in a logical spot, and the cache container and logbook were in good shape. I dropped a TB here for safe keeping and future travels. Thanks katirfra for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/jesswrigley stamp.

Having had a massive Saturday and deciding I ought to get out for a drive today, I jumped into my car and headed south with no plan. I rolled through Beaudesert and felt like I should head out along Wyaralong and towards Boonah. There's probably something interesting out that way.

I always enjoy this drive. Out in the sticks a bit, little traffic, and a good road. It's been a while though and I was just having a good time on my solo drive. At some point I looked back a the geocaching map and saw this icon up ahead. I told myself if I remember, I should turn off and attempt it. I've not been to the Western Trailhead before.

There was a traffic accident and a lot of flashing lights before I got here, but some kilometres later, I made the turn and headed for GZ. This area is just fantastic! Great facilities and plenty of room. A geocaching event would be cool here!

What wasn't cool was the weather. I parked up just off the dirt road and upon opening my door, the heat of the day smacked me. I had gotten used to the air con it seems. But, onto the geocache!

A nearby wallaby got spooked and shot off before I could get a good photo. Instead, I looked for the geocache. Not too hard to find, just found the thing that fit the theme and popped it open. All in great condition here, so I signed my name then replaced as found at 14:18.

Now, to explore the area a little more before continuing my journey. Ah, the lovely places geocaching takes you to! Thank you for bringing me here, katifra Smile

22-Aug-20
Looked for a termite nest here, but were disappointed. Maybe they've all gone back to Darwin before the borders shut? Plenty of cobbler's pegs though, so Mrs George and self spent many happy minutes extracting the rotten little things from our clothes. Added to the log here, and replaced it before departing. TFTC, katirfra.

Arriving at GZ we could hear birdsong all around us. The silky oaks are loaded with blossom and presumaly nectar - hundreds of birds feeding and chattering.
We then concentrated on finding your cache. Nice one. Signed the log and replaced exactly as found.
Thanks heaps for this cache katirfra.

I Did find it on the 31st with Yankees02 while we took our Scouts on a weekend Camp. I tried to send AndrewT1 on a wild Termite hunt but...... He found it!!!
It's an Amazing & relaxing place out there, the Scouts had a blast.

We had a surprise visit from a Cub that went on a bike Hike with his parents, 2 Ladies & their Beautiful Horses that just finished one of the many bushland trails & were treated with a much loved hose down..... & I can't forget the local wildlife that graced us with their presence.

Make the time to go out there a read all about the history of the area it even comes with pictures!!

Loved being amongst the trees, It was a little squishy walking on the decaying undergrowth as it was raining most of the weekend. But I think that's what adds to the adventure

After the Head of the River, I began to make my way home by the slightly longer route through Ipswich and pick up these couple of caches that I’d been wanting to get since Miss 15 started rowing at Wyaralong last season.

I had no idea that this place existed. I stopped at the homestead and read the signs about the history of the area and the Coan family before wandering over to GZ for a quick find.

Thanks for the cache.

We are nomads. Having left Perth WA in February 2014 we now live in our caravan and go wherever the will or caches take us. Wink

Staying a few days in Kalbar, we have been tucked away and trying to stay high and dry with all the rain and flood alerts. This morning we took a rare opportunity to duck out to look for a few caches in the surrounding area whilst the sun was shining.

Little did we know that at 7pm we would be evacuated to higher ground. Surprised
