This was interesting in that someone hasn't done their job here in ages. A barking dog nearly stopped me looking but his owner came out and gave him what for! Found but you need to be quiet!#10943
The way I cook, I often need to substitute ingredients and sometimes leave them out completely, mostly resulting in a not too unpalatable dish. Anyways, back to the cache, found with MummyPenny as we travelled north today. Thanks holymu, gets a fave for the entertaining puzzle.
Back in June, four Wellingtonians (NZ_B, Mr-Mcgoo, TwigNZ and YetiNZ) came down to visit the Nelson region. We had such a blast that we decided to do it again, and here we are!During our time here, all found caches were signed as NMTY (regardless of whether 2, 3 or all 4 of us hadn't found it previously), or with individual names for Challenge Caches according to whomever was claiming the find, which certainly applied to this cache.Day 3, and today would be a more cruisy day for us, with an easy drive heading South West of Nelson towards Brightwater, Wakefield and Wai-Iti before heading back to Nelson to host an event there to meet the locals.Another of the puzzles that had been solved a few months back. Glad to be able to stop by and look for it today. No issues to report here, and everything was replaced just as found.Thank you for setting this one up.
(# 8216) On a caching trip to the Nelson/Golden Bay area for a repeat trip for the four amigos. Day three is based around the Nelson environs. Tripping with NZ_B, TwigNZ and YetiNZ. Another day full of hilarity with nobody being spared being the butt of the jokes. Signed the log with NMTY. Thanks holymu for bringing me here.
Some time ago a group of us from Wellington decided that what we should do is come down to the Nelson region for a long weekend of Geocaching. So we did. We had such a good time that just a few months later we decided to do it again. The same team to the same location, with the same agenda. The only real goal for this four day break is exploring, having fun, and finding more of the unfound geocaches in the area.
Day three of the trip had us between Nelson and Wai-iti. We stopped at many caches along the way, and this was one of them.
A challenging puzzle that I solved some time ago before our last visit down here. My notes indicate I wasn't able to find all the items in my shopping list (much like when I go to the supermarket) but I found enough to get what I needed.
Most of our finds here we signed the log with the collective name of N.M.T.Y to represent the four of us: NZ_B, Mr-Mcgoo, TwigNZ, and YetiNZ.
---
Thanks to holymu for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with Geocachers like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.
[DGSc-Bulk] tagging to help me generate a list for GC30AD8 - DGSc Challenge.

After a few days R&R it was time to head home today. I targeted a few puzzle caches I had solved while making my way to the airport today for my flight home. I really enjoyed solving this puzzle. I found the cache without ay problems. Cheers and TFTC
I am so happy to finish this cache. I started the puzzle many weeks ago, but messed up my print out and put it aside. Since I was planning on being in the area, I tried again last night.
I copied the puzzle into a spreadsheet so I could work on it easier. Then I typed in all the words so I could use Google to help. In another spreadsheet I made multiple columns for each word and used this in conjunction with searching the puzzle.
I almost cut my search time short since there was a dog in the house nearby barking like crazy. The DO (dog owner) didn't come running out to see what was causing his barking, so I continued and found the little cache. TFTC.

I looked at this one first around the time it was published, I knew what I had to do to solve it but was too busy so put it to one side. A couple of months ago I was looking through some puzzles I'd printed out back then trying to find a specific one I knew was in that pile and I now knew how to solve. Seeing this I thought I should get onto it. A bit of time with my BFF Google and I soon had some coordinates. I had thought of hiding the Arthur Wakefield geotour cache here but with the restrictions they'd put on us around container size I was struggling to see where I could hide a decent sized cache so went with the other location. Just as well as it turns out. Thanks holymu

This puzzle was quite a challenge - and that's even with Tregearp doing the heavy lifting. A quick find with Tregearp whilst on a loop around Wakefield to earn some metres for the Reach the Peak challenge. All in good order. Thanks holymu for the puzzle and cache.
I started this puzzle just after we first moved to the District, being a Chef I was drawn to food puzzles although the CO's puzzles seemed to be very prominent in my tackled and parked section of my folder. This was another, I started making notes on a piece of paper, then a few rainy days got me on a spreadsheet but still had quite a few gaps. A hint from the CO & partner got be back to google and felt a bit silly given one aspect I hadn't clicked to is a language close to the CO's interest. Really pleased to get this in the solved section after another few rainy days and today headed for a walk to collect. SJT_NZ and I headed off to get some caching in on such a lovely day, a nice loop walk down the cycle way, through Wakefield and out the other side while we attempted to climb the current peak. Thanks holymu, all in good order.
Solved the puzzle got the green tick. Went to the GZ and couldn't find the cache. Looked for about 15 min but had to give up eventually.
Another one of those solved a long time ago puzzles but not gotten around to grabbing. I have attempted in past but always people in the park so not great to look. Tonight dropped daughter at some friends then popped over and made the quick find. A bit of lying down on the job to make the grab. Thanks for the puzzle and thanks for the cache.
Due to NZ being at Alert level 4 and some people insisting on continuing to geocache and put others at risk I am disabling my caches until such time as it's safe to resume this activity.
Any logs I receive for finds during this time will be deleted. I don't care anymore about YOUR safety than you obviously do but I do care very much about others and want them to be safe so please do NOT look for any of my caches while they are disabled.
In the meantime, there's always plenty of puzzles to be solved or created but above all PLEASE STAY SAFE EVERYONE!

Well, this was a fun puzzle.
I only solved this a couple of months back, one of those easy ones to print out and share the solving duties with your workmates over a cup of coffee.
Good fun, took a few smokes on and off but we got them all eventually.
I directed the guys to this as it was the closest ‘mystery’ to us, and it took a while for tS to realise he also had the solved coords. Not much joy for 10 minutes or so hunting high and low until I spotted it in the open. Have replaced at the base with a rock on top.
Thanks for the fun Holymu, FP from me.
For a while my leap day goals were going to revolve around the Kaikoura region, and with an event there as well I was not sure whether to go to that or the local one.
But the Seagnoid suggested, just a couple of days out, a trip to Nelson to get some add ons for project GC badges (or some such thing that went over the head of most of us) so I decided to tag along on that.
A lot of travelling then and just 10 cherry-picked caches in the Tasman/Nelson region for the day. That’s enough til the next one rolls round in 4 years I guess, TFTC all COs.

Get to GZ and the search was on. I overlooked this one but thankfully RichardinhoNZ rechecked here to make the find. Cheers.
Thanks RichardinhoNZ for his puzzle solving abilities.
Its Leap Day today and Badge Jem has some new badgeletts to capture along with the Leap day badge. So The Seagnoid, Richardinhonz and I are off to Nelson to see what we can find to help us along.

I had planned to pick up a puzzle cache for our badgen mission below. The cache I had selected in near, Wakapuaka and the plan was to pick it up as as we were driving in to Nelson from Blenheim. But I totaly forgot to stop. Turned out Ricardinho already had that cache, so while we were in Wakefield I suggested he picked one he hadn't found, the odds are I and Taybeedragon hadn't got it either. He suggested this one. Nice and nearby. I did a check. Yep, I the dragon and I haven't found it, although I have solved it. So here we went.
The search area was huge. About 14m long - our pocket computer just would not settle. Eventually I went back to the car for a decent Garmin, but by the time I got back with the device in my hand, they had already found the cache.
In the last few weeks BadgeGen (https://project-gc.com/Statistics/ProfileStats#BadgeGen) has had a major update and one of the new features is badglets - little badges that add on to the main badges. One of these is Feb29, awarded for finding a cache on Leap day. So I teamed up with Ricardinho.nz and Taybeedragon for a trip to Nelson to get every cache type and every size available to put as many Feb29 badglets as possible on our badgegen badges.
There are lots of other changes to BadgeGen, check it out at the above address.
This gets us our puzzle cache Feb29 badgelet. We already have the size micro Feb29 from an earlier cache today.

Solved a long time ago. Finally got to collect it.
This morning we went out to Haulashore Island and I completed my DT grid.
We stayed the night in Nelson. My friend Ethness is in the Mainland and we are DoubleTrouble. We are drove from Greymouth to Nelson yesterday. We stayed the night in Nelson.
Thanks holymu for placing this geocache it is find 8264 for me.

What a lovely wee park to come to. A grandmother was playing hide and seek with her grandson and while we didn’t find him we did find the cache.
Lady with grandson. The fourth day of our road road trip and we are having lots of laughs, hunting hard and signing logs. Signed NE as I am caching with Nosynel. TFTC and apologies for the generic log.

Wow, the place has changed since I lived nearby in the 80's / 90's. This was all paddocks and I used to shoot my air rifle out this way. Not any more! A fun puzzle solved a while ago and while I was in the area, thought I'd see how it's changed and also claim this cache. Cheers
Another puzzle that needed finding and luckily GZ was empty. A hunt failed to turn up anything and with one of us one side and one the other it was looking like a bust until Andy brushed something aside and I could see the cache, which he couldn't. A quick sign for this cache that hasn't been found for over a year and we were off to the next one. tftc
I remember starting this puzzle with great gusto - - - coming to a grinding halt - - - and taking a long time to get back to it. It seems to have been almost as long between the solve and the find. - - - Still it was good to have this one sitting there patiently waiting for me. Thanks for the puzzle and the hide !
I solved this puzzle quite a while ago after many courses of familiar food from different countries, but never had the time, timing, or foresight to stop to look for the actual cache.
So after having found myself out this way at some ungodly hour getting a FTF, I thought the town of Wakefield would still be mostly asleep to afford me a quiet hunt.
I was in luck, as there was no-one around the GZ, and I guess I ended up a little lucky finding the cache as quickly as I did as its natural camo covering blended in well in the dawn light.
Thanks for the good, enjoyable puzzle.

Another puzzle that we solved nearly 2 years ago, and are finally in the area to collect. No problem for us getting the coords from the puzzle, or making the find. Thanks.
This reminded us of an amazing holiday we have been on. Thanks for the memories and the cache
I am useless at word puzzles but Jules quickly worked her way through this fun puzzle. Today we headed to GZ and collected our reward. TFTC.
A second consecutive week with a trip over the hill for another couple of dozen caches, or just shy of that number. This weeks target was to get a couple of Multis, which have become the neglected cache type lately due to a focus on puzzle caches instead. Also a hope to get a few more (solved) Bakers Dozen caches along with a couple of random others, including the South 41 degrees Challenge cache which I see I qualify for too, yay.
A successful day and the weather this side of the hill was significantly better than the Blenheim side today, has been quite grey and dreary over this side, so I hear. Even bumped into cacher The Wonder Stuff and we found one together, which was nice. Had 3 1/2 hours caching today before I had to collect the family from their shopping exploits.
I really enjoyed doing the puzzle for this cache and an F P will be given. I quickly sighted and obvious word and hoped for more but no, that was that it seems. Soon caught on to the idea and made headway during quiet times at work. Eventually had enough to solve the whole thing.
At G Z I searched much too high and was about to give it away when I spotted the lid and a first find for over a year was my reward.
Nice puzzle and a quiet GZ today, thankfully

A piece of cake is what I thought but that all turned to custard quite quickly. Found a couple of sugars, several tomatoes and peppers. But the proof is in the pudding after all and I managed to pull it all off this afternoon. A fun puzzle. TFTC #6420

I initially thought this would be easy, and found a few words quickly. Then I just couldn't see any more using my usual word search techniques. Eventually I spotted something that put me on the right track. Over the next couple of hours it slowly filled out until the co-ords revealed themselves. I certainly learned a lot doing this puzzle. I popped out for a short drive this evening and soon had the cache in hand. TFTC.

Weekend away with MuzzaL53, heading to Lake Rotoiti, phones in hand, personalised manual for the weekend, and collecting caches as we go.
Really enjoyed doing the puzzle and interpreting what was required. It was a lot of fun.
The cache find was relative quick.

On a mission with KFNZ from Nelson to Lake Rotoiti. Solved puzzle just after publication. Merci beaucoup.
TFTC. Out to play for the weekend with the destination of Nelson. Caching crew on board were Karma Reprint, Team_Gaters and TheWanglers, logged as PKTT for this trip. Gosh did we have fun looking for caches, most of which we found, in this very beautiful part of our country.
We are moving into the puzzle heaven zone of our caching adventure. Four very excited kids!!
Thanks holymu for creating the puzzle and for placing the cache.

On a big mission up to Nelson over Show Weekend with Purdiepurdie, Karma Reprint and Team_Gaters we signed our cache finds as PKTT the 'power packet' but we called ourselves the 'G4'. We headed off on Friday morning at 4.30am and made our way to Nelson today. We drove heaps, laughed heaps, found heaps of caches and poke our noses here and there. It was a great day we didn't stop until about 9.30pm for a cuppa and relax and getting ready to do it all again tomorrow!
Nice puzzle. Quick one... onto the next.
Thanks for the cache.

With the plan of heading south for a bit of caching today I spent an hour or so on this last night. Made some headway but needed another three hours this morning to get a result, which delayed my departure. Managed to solve bar one to get the coordinates which then let me find the last pesky word. Not my idea of fun but I still found it all rather interesting and intriguing as I messed around with Google Translate.

A neat wee puzzle that we solved a while ago. Called by gz a few weeks ago when dropping youngest child to a nearby party. Saw someone hut building near gz so didn't get out of the car that day. Out with Biggles today who detoured to gz on the way home for me to check if the area was clear. All good and a quick find so got to sign this one off.
Thanks holymu for the cache and the puzzle.

I had this pointed out to me and told I'd enjoy it by a friend. She was right, a most enjoyable solve, thanks.
Really enjoyed the puzzle, especially as it both involved food and words. I have great memories of eating potatoes, pea soup, almond cookies and custard (and other foods as well...) at my grandparents' house, so these words were very easy for me to find.
Pleased to see GZ all clear on a Saturday morning and cache was a quick find in the second place I looked. Good start to my caching day, the second of ten puzzles I found today (StreetWalker went one better and found eleven as he found a cache I had already found). TFTC.

#7882. Troodles did most of the cache finding in the first part of the day; this was a quick find. TFTC.
Assured by the CO that our numbers were right - and the cache was there - we made an instant find in an obvious spot!!
Mrs SoBad did not know enough to make this an easy puzzle - but enough to know where to go for what she didn't know. Then the numbers became clear - and it was only in case she had transposed them incorrectly that she felt the need to check them. We didn't really really need sharper eyes - just common sense - to make the find today. Yesterday we had really made a meal of it - which was not the intent of the title. The hint proved appropriate today when we did make the find.
Thanks for the puzzle and the check!! And the cache. And it is nice to get the puzzle souvenir although we doubt we will get the full set.

We believed we had the numbers needed - but left this for an August cache as it is the one souvenir Mrs SoBad was keen to get. Arrived at a spot new to us that looked likely and began checking the possibilities in the area. Then a dog started barking - and barking - and barking. So we wandered off to another cache and returned a bit later more quietly. This gave us time for a bit more of a check - but the dog spotted us before we spotted a cache. It will need another visit - with sharper eyes - or a recheck of the numbers in case.

FTF Nice one! I was half way up Barnicoat Hill when a couple of new caches were published and this was one of them. When I got home I looked at the puzzle and thought it was worth having a go at. Hmm not quite as straightforward as it first looked. I adjusted my thinking cap and took another approach and things soon started to fall into place. Before too long I had six numbers in front of me. Now what to do? Try this - nope not there. Try that - probably not there either. Email the CO? Yes, did that and she replied with some advice about a problem with the listing as published. Taking that into account a viable GZ was revealed. Headed out for a lunchtime drive and found myself at a nice spot that I don't think I've ever visited before.
