I really should do more Earthcaches. They are great at teaching you new things. Answers sent to CO.
Although it was 6 degrees this morning, there was no breeze so good conditions for a bike ride...and to look for a few caches along the way. 55km were ridden, half a dozen caches found - and one DNF due to an extreme level of muggles. Answers found for this one and sent to CO....hopefully they suffice. TFTC to all COs.
Great geology lesson by the beaches! Answers sent....Adelaide day nr 7. Cycling around the beaches...I'm logging this hide as my 10636 find. Many thanks GhostGums & MrMeccano for a placement.
There is no board at given coordinates, there is one further 40 metres away, that mentions the subject but does not match cache description Answers to be sent Thanks GhostGums for Adelaide Living Beaches#6132
TFTC GhostGums for placing this cache, I enjoyed visiting the locations while I was over for the MEGA in the excellent company of GSEL. It was a stinkingly hot day when we visited, so the sea breeze was especially welcome! Information gathered and sent through to the CO on behalf of both of us.I would like to show my respect and acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land, and their continuing connection to it. I wish to pay my respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past, present and emerging.
Interesting WPs and signs (one was damaged by vegetation rubbing) nice to visit early in the morning. Answers have been sent.Had a late finish yesterday with some passenger ferrying late yesterday, and an early call for wheels this morning awake at 0415 and on the road to the airport an hour later. Took the chance, and a small hand-torch, to make some pre-dawn finds and have breakfast in Glenelg before a trip to Brighton, then back via Henley Beach. Another scorcher of a day and some great sights and sites visited. 3 X Earthcache, 3 x Wherigo (PGc badge upgrade), and a swagful of Ad Lab stages. Looks like I might surpass 17k finds whilst here! Cheers to the COs (and other lettuce types)
Over from Perth for few days to attend the Leap Day Mega. This was a bonus day thanks to the Qantas pilots going on strike - I was supposed to fly back today, but got rescheduled to tomorrow. So hmmm... what to do with an extra full day? Well I managed to get the hire car extended by a day as well so I guess there's nothing for it but to tee up a few more select geocaches and an extra LGA or two! This was one of today's extras and a lovely location for a stroll. Information was a little tricky to find - and I couldn't see the yellow line anywhere. Otherwise all noted down and now sent to the CO Thanks for bringing me here today and TFTC
#14,528. Infoferret and I came over to Adelaide to attend the Great Leap Forward Mega event on 29 Feb. We have been moving around Adelaide after the event picking up a range of caches. We saw this earthcache and came to check it out. Took a bit to find the various information boards but they provided the key facts needed. The beach has really changed a lot over the decades as poor dune management was replaced by proper dune care. Good to see the evidence of these changes and hear the birds enjoying the new habitat. Infoferret has sent the information requested to the CO through message board on both out behalf. Thanks GhostGums for highlighting these important geological and ecological processes.
This Earthcache covers some vital information about the need to protect our coastline. This is a fairly exposed foreshore and a lot of protection measures have been built around here. It was a bit blustery out there today. The information required was gathered from information boards in the vicinity of the beaches I visited, but not necessarily t the coordinates given.
Decided to get down to Adelaide for a few days as part of the Great Leap Forward Mega event. The general target was EarthCaches, Virtuals and Adventure Labs with plenty of other finds along the way.Had to be on the ball with navigation here with the different waypoints.TFTC!
Came here today with the family. Its great to see first hand is being done to protect our coastline! Thanks for the earthcache!
On the beach today. We have done this walk many times. We were able to see the conservation of the sand dunes for ourselves. Lots of work to preserve our beaches. As we walked from waypoint 1(North not South) to the Torrens outlet we could see the great job that this conservation has done over the years. Not only protecting the sand but providing habitats for wildlife.
Thanks Ghostgums for bringing all this and the lovely walk to our attention and for our pleasure too

Touring Australia and New Zealand with my family. We have been enjoying the beautiful landscape and visiting some awesome locations.
Stopping along the way to grab some cool caches. We targeted high favourite, old caches, different cache types and some other caches along our routes.
We enjoyed the view and the earthcache.
Send CO answers for BeesKnees34 and SOB_4M.

Thanks GhostGums for this interesting earth cache. Here in Adelaide, we are fortunate to be able to take our beautiful sandy beaches and sand dunes for granted. It was worthwhile to stop and consider them, as the whole system does need support to be maintained.
I'm pleased the rabbits I used to see on the dunes, a bit further north of here, are no longer there, since the last council cull.
Pigface. An Aboriginal bush tucker plant.

Thanks to airline issues I had an unplanned day in Adelaide. I decided to put my suitcase in a locker and walk to the beach and find some caches on the way. I enjoyed strolling along the seafront using this EC as a guide to what I was looking at.

Out and about grabbing some caches with PrezDough and he hasn’t had the opportunity to get an earth cache yet.
We made our way to the start coordinates but we’re a bit mystified with a question and we answered it as best we could.
We sent our answers to the CO, so hopefully they will be happy with our findings.
Such a nice enough day and the weather is great.

This afternoon with Adelaide's announcement of allowed fitness within the COVID-19 lockdown, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I decided to take our bikes for a spin, and ride to the beach. With the quiet roads, we elected to ride along Anzac Highway, taking a few short detours, and then rode along the foreshore from Somerton Park, to Glenelg and then on to West Beach. Since it was such a nice day, we returned via the Linear Park trail along the Torrens River.
I think this EarthCache may need a review from the CO, as I found no information board at the posted coordinates (however there was an information board 20-30 m away that showed photos from 1953, not 1949 as stated), no information board at Waypoint 2 (although I've assumed that information board is a common one explaining the sand transport process, found along the foreshore), and Waypoint 3 appeared to be ok.
I have been no stranger to this area and West Beach; [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I have attended parkrun a few times, starting/finishing just near the posted coordinates, and we also had [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T)'s parents who lived interstate, also rent a beachside property near Waypoint 3. Hence, I've gone past, read and studied these information signs a few times, but never had the opportunity to properly study and evaluate this EarthCache's questions until today.
It was a nice ride between the waypoints, and as mentioned above, there was some trouble at collecting the information; I suspect this may be one of the reasons why this EarthCache does not get completed too often, despite the nice location. We gathered the answers, and sent to the CO. Thanks GhostGums & MrMeccano for the EarthCache organisation.

Enjoyed a lovely stroll along the esplanade from west beach to Henley beach. A lot has changed since I grew up sailing mirror boats around these waters. I won’t make the mistake of walking along the esplanade when there’s an onshore wind and they’ve been dumping sand. Ouch! TFTC and the opportunity to reminisce.
This is one of those earthcaches that I have been meaning to do, but never seem to have got around to. After some previous close involvement in the Adelaide Living Beaches Strategy over a number of years, I have a good understanding of the whys and wherefores of the subject matter and it was nice to be able to finally visit the waypoints to gather the information and complete the earthcache.
Thanks GhostGums & MrMeccano for the cache.

We felt like a walk on a beach and it was well-worth it, on this beautiful expanse of sand. We did our best to find the WPs as our Garmin GPS packed up about 2 weeks before. We found 2 boards, one of them was a bit difficult to read, damaged with graffitis.
Answers sent and hoping they are good enough.
Many thanks GhostGums & MrMeccano for the earthcache, an interesting & essential project. What a difference it has made already, a spectacular & wide beach now

Modified the question for WP2. Will look updating the questions as it would now appear the sign will not be returned.
As per my log this one needs to be changed. WP2 is not able to be found and has been so for 6+ months.
I had a crack at this one but couldn't find the required information at WP2 so we gave up after only gathering one WP worth of information. I see now that this has been the case for a while, this should be amended until a new sign can be found.
Thanks anyway GhostGums.

The old info board at WP2 doesn't seem to be there, only unrelated information. Thanks for a great EarthCache. TFTC. A beautiful part of the world.
Our final cache on our WA and SA trip, before flying home to Hobart. Delighted to finish with another earth Cache (we have completed more on this trip than any other time in our geocaching life). Great to return here after so many years and see the improvement. Male membsec got his Bronze medallion at the (then) Henley Beach Pool - in 1963.
Pity that the near-by eateries did not live up to their hype and we were forced to return to Glenelg for a good choice of eateries.

I've become a bit of a regular down this part of the country in the last couple of months. Sadly, time has not allowed me to pause and pick up this cache. Today, I had an hour to spare between touching down and my meeting in Port Adelaide. Perfect for a couple of waypoint visits and some enroute caches. [^]
I pulled up at the first WP and could not see the info board I was looking for. I strolled around a bit, then noticed a sneaky path heading from the car park to the beach that looked promising. About 30m in, I found what I was looking for.
WP2, revealed nothing again and I thought I was having a bad day with the GPS. Not the case as it turned out, the sign here is no more and wandering up and down the path revealed no evidence of any signs...
Off to WP3 and voila, info on hand and answers gleaned nice and quickly. With all the answers I could get noted in my scribble pad, I hit the road North. A glorious day to be out and about, although a few degrees cooler would have been nice. It did make for a gorgeous shimmering ocean though. [^]
Cheers Ghostgums and Mr Meccano. A nice E/C in a nice location.

Today after receiving my scout award I really wanted to get an Earthcache for my souvenir today so being such a beautiful afternoon I headed to the beach and strolled along the bike/walking track.
Took some photos, answered some questions which have been sent off to the CO.
Very interesting. I didn't know that this happened. I lived at West Beach for a while & saw the piles of sand but until today did not know the logic behind it. Thanks for setting up this earthcache & increasing my knowledge of the Adelaide Beaches

My last day in SA before heading back home to the ACT and we (KBKL, Sixpak69 and myself) decided to head over to Henley Beach to do an Earthcache I had been eyeing off. This was it.
We wandered through the waypoints and took photos of the different information boards and pulled together the information we believe is right. Our answers were submitted to the CO and I am writing this log on the 29th of April however we have not yet heard back from the CO. If our answers are incorrect, we will remove our logs and correct answers as required.
Thanks for bringing us to this lovely location, we had a lovely time and enjoyed the views.
Thanks again GhostGums

Second stop will be Coober Pedy.
Third stop is Woomera.
Forth stop ? Heading for a FTF and staying in a cabin to get out of the bad weather.
Fifth stop. Swan Reach.
Sixth stop. Gawler.
And the last stop will be Adelaide then home.
Thanks for the cache.

Today was a day of caching in and around Adelaide with lukie1987 after a massive road trip to Alice, it was a relief to be driving such a short distance today.
Sick and tired of the CBD traffic, we moved out a little to catch the ocean. It was nice to also be able to do an earthcache while we were in the area. An interesting one too.

Today we visited the beaches of Adelaide and learnt about previous decisions that impacted negatively on the area and the steps that are being taken to alleviate the problems and to stabilise the sand dune areas. Answers to the questions have been forwarded to the CO and approval to log has been received. Thanks GhostGums for a very interesting earthcache.

Logged with permission of CO. My first earth cache [:d]. A pleasant walk from start to finish, picking up trad caches on the way, Thanks GhostGums.
Mr Tardis loves a good earthcache, and this one didn't disappoint. I learnt a thing or two about our Adelaide beaches.
FYI, The signboard at the last waypoint is currently inaccessible because the stairs are closed off. However you can still see the sign from the road and a good camera would come in useful to be able to read all the info.

I note that CO is still active n Queensland. Perhaps he/she is taking no interest in this anymore?
Also note that two geocachers have recently logged this as a find - can someone confirm that CO GhostGums responded to their messages.

In recent months my wife has undergone open heart surgery, and for the months of July/August/September, geocaching was a very rare event. In fact in the last two days, I just got around to logging caches from way back to the mega event in April.
If you sent answers recently and I didn't respond, please forward them to the email [email protected] and I will resolve it for you.
Thank You.

Such a beautiful day when doing this cache and along my favourite bike path. This earthcache brought back memories of geography at school and learning about LSD (Long Shore Drift), I think we spent a whole term on the subject with Mr Coram and today reinforced all that learning. TFTC. My first earthcache!
It was fascinating to watch the sand machine in Glenelg, only to then read about the project through this earth cache. I'd been wondering what they were doing with the sand. TFTC, Ghostgum!

A day solo cruising around the area, finding a few challenge caches and earthcaches, seeing a bit more of this lovely state. Cool beach! I had some time to kill before I watched Melbourne Ice destroy a hapless Adelaide Adrenaline for the second time in two days! Loved the walk along the beach, the answers were easy and informative, favourite point added. E-mail sent to cache owner. Thanks for the earthcache GhostGums.

After attending an event earlier, I was joined by two lovely ladies
While enjoying the company of Andy Columbia and travellinbees, I managed to have 1 DNF and 25 finds for the day.
Having dropped Mrs travellinbees at her car, Andy Columbia and I continued on caching until about 9.30pm
Thankfully, having been to these areas many times over the years, I knew some of the required information.
Being dark when we arrived, I didn't take a photo as my phone doesn't do well at night when used as a camera.
Thanks for the fun though
Logged to keep caches in correct order but pending approval from CO as email has been sent.

This was my first Earth Cache. I love the idea of these caches. Great to be able to get outside and learn a lot more about the local area. To be honest I had no concept of the importance of the dunes. Thank you so much for the lesson, really appreciate it, and will be looking out for more of these ones.
With a road trip planned to celebrate a family milestone, the car was packed, music loaded & GPS loaded up to provide some fun along the way. Whilst caching wasn’t the purpose of the trip, we had a good list for the week focusing on earth and webcam caches. Today was our beach day and we had stunning weather, perfect for a relaxing walk along for this. Chose the walking trail rather than driving between points, which enabled some good photos along the way. Very interesting information garnered as we went along, particularly to someone who grew up near the beach.
Thanks for the cache GhostGums and apologies for logging so late.

We enjoyed a magic evening at the beach when we did this one. Thanks for a great EC.
ON a bike ride around Adelaide's beachside, I took the opportunity to soak up the sandy history with this Earth cache
Lovely spot, if you like the lack of surf
Despite the lack of obvious surf the bayside currents still seem to pack a mighty wallop, if the information is anything to go by
Info gathered .... email sent ... a month has passed with no reply [:o]
Time to claim the smiley methinks

We've seen, heard and read quite a bit about this project over the years, so it was good to see it explained and laid out logically on the information boards as we travelled between them [^].
We'd hate to see the local beaches without sand, so hopefully this will keep the place looking good for many years to come [8].
Thanks GhostGums & MrMeccano.
