Good job to the hubby, no way I was going in this grass in this weather..We did the Holland Track a couple of years ago, little did we know we drove past a Geocaching..Thanx for the cache
Taurus Six and I started the day from Katanning after spending a lovely evening there last night , after a day of geocaching through the Wheatbelt yesterday. It was a very cold morning and constantly threatening to rain. After a hearty breakfast at the Dome we had a walk around the township this morning collecting a couple of Adventure Lab elements before hitting the road . Our geocaching plan for the day was to clear up caches and Adventure Labs around the Katanning area then do a circuit through Broomhill then back round to Kojonup before meandering our way back to Bunbury geocaching along the way . There was an array of different caches, and areas to explore and all in all it was another very enjoyable days geocaching .This is our twelfth cache find of the day along with a near by Adventure Lab whilst driving around these beautiful back roads of the southern Wheatbelt. We drove past gz here and had to turn around and come back . The cache took a little while longer than it should have to locate . Thanks for the cache find Joss Taylor .
We arrived at the cache before I had my schick together but after a short walk the cache was spotted. Holland wouldn't want to have been as disorganised as I was this morning or he'd have never made it anywhere. TFTC josstaylor.
WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 25 - Cranbrook to Nyabing via Tambellup, Broomehill village and Katanning. I started with a tough multi, then did lots of roadside caches until Katanning and then started to explore the town also whilst doing a set of labs. The last part of the day was heading to Nyabing and a fantastic show ground camp ground, with under cover caravan parking. I watched yesterdays Grand Prix and am now sitting having dinner at the local gathering spot, not a pub called The Hub. Off to Kulin tomorrow and a series I have been wring on for some time but did not expect to get to, the Tin Horse Highway.I was happy that quite a few of today's caches were nice quick roadside caches, even if they were at some interesting location. After an unscheduled stop in Albany overnight due to battery issues, it was time to head home. With a warm coffee in hand, we departed Middleton Beach express for the Mount Barker Bakery. The bellies were fuelled up with a warm pie and we began the days caching with a stop at the Mount Barker Cemetery. The plan for today is to head north via the Great Southern Highway. Not sure Betsy would make it down most of the Holland Track, but its nice to dream. Made a quick find today, but can understand why previous finders would have had difficulty. Cheers josstaylor! Join us in Augusta, in Western Australias South West, for WA Goes Big 2024 (GCAGV8Y) on Friday 20 to Sunday 22 September. Log your will attend now!
Im down this way for work so stopped by and took a short walk. Thanks for the cache. A quick find.
Found during my trip back home to SA after touring the southwest of Western Australia for almost four weeks, including a 5-day visit to Albany. Thanks for the cache josstaylor!
pretty easy hiding spot but couldnt write our names cause we didnt have a pen. pretty much just grabbed it and put it back cause we were in a hurry.
After doing a small section of the Holland Track, we picked up this cache before heading towards Perth. Tftc

Today we went from Katanning to Gnowangerup. First we looked for caches in Katanning before we went to the multi at the Police Pool Nature Reseve. There we liked the multi through the landscape very much. Further along the Great Southern Highway we also found all the caches targeted. So we reached Gnowangerup via the Horsepower Highway. Here, too, there were still finds. Many thanks to the owners for setting the caches.

Day Six: Nyabing to Kojonup, via Mount Barker.
Weather: Deteriorating!
I’ve seen a lot of Holland references on this trip but I don’t know the history. I’ll do some reading when I get home.
Thanks again josstaylor.

A quick visit to Katanning and headed to Broomehill for a quick look; I didn’t realise the track started here and a distant relative by marriage (Carmody) was involved. Chose a muggle free window for a quick park, grab, signed and returned TFTC
Quick find on way back home from Gnowangerup via Arthur River. TFTC. all in good order.
One of our targets for this trip to Western Australia was to attempt some challenges, in particular The Great Southern Challenge, The Great Southern Challenge II and The Regional Cacher Challenge III. Today we focussed on visiting as many LGAs as we could in a day and to find at least once cache in each of them. We were fortunate to visit 7 LGAs and find more than one cache in each of them.
When we didn't find the cache at the published coordinates, we gradually widened the search area and made a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks josstaylor for the cache.

Would love to be turning on to the Track, must continue north. Someday we’ll return and head east.
Quick find here today on our way down to Albany for the WAGB21 weekend with Orrsome Family and Deefa71. Tftc
The Better Half and I had an early start from Katanning today which meant that the first few caches were done in fog. This cache was the first cache we got to after leaving Katanning in the dark.
Cache found without problems once a semi dry path was found to ground zero, Log signed and cache returned as found.
Thanks josstaylor for placing this cache for us to find

Nice and easy to find one we realised it was at ground level.
While here we replaced the cache container and log book as they were damaged.
We left the log book inside the cache as it may dry out after a while.
Thanks for the chance to stop and smell the flowers.

Well I overthought this one again (as usual?) and spent 10 minutes looking everywhere but the obvious. In good nick. Thought this would be my #700 but a dnf yesterday has put me behind. TFTC.
Well the time has finally come for our long awaited Holland Track trip. What started up as a weekend away for a few has turned into a road trip with about 8 or so cars. Bring it on.
This trip included some of our regular gang, some good friends and a few new ones.
Our caching community consisted of myself, Granett, Allied_OZ, Barnzy12, Cravo10, Rudi63, Rokadz, The Fitzys, ChickenHawk07, Jaxonic, McFonz and a muggle in Alan.
With plenty of plans, (and food and drink) we left Broomhill at 10.00am.
This was our first obvious stop and a quick find here. Could do with a new container as the lid has a crack.
Many thanks to josstaylor for placing and maintaining Holland Beginning. We were here at 10:05 am on Thursday and this is my find 8842.

Thanks josstaylor for bringing me to this location and taking the time to hide and maintain this cache. I found the cache at 10:22:00. This was my Find 7 for today out of a Total number of 28 Finds and 0 DNF for for this Caching Outing. The cache was found in Good Condition and I signed the log and returned the cache as I found it.
This find brings my total number of Finds to 5176.
TFTC. Hope we have better luck finding the whole Track than the cache. Then we had a girl look and found easily. Coolgardie here we come.
Friends tried to drive this track last year but the weather changed and they ended up having to abandon a top section when the track got closed. Not so suitable for our 2WD. Thanks for this cache.
The start of a road trip to Denmark to hit roymerc caches and get a few different LGAs with Probsty.
I crossed the Holland Track on the Hyden Rd in March. Now I know where it starts. I’ll be back. A quickish find..

Thank you! I headed out on a super large day trip to find some caches I've had my eye on, due to their age or LGA, or because they contained clues for other caches. I left before dawn and was home after sunset, but saw so much of the countryside. Happy to make the find here.
Always wondered where this track started. Have driven the Hyden to Coolgardie section. Dropped of a trackable today. TFTC
Touring the Great Southern using Geocachiing as our guide.
We headed out today from Kojonup and did a massive loop of some 420km. We saw some great historic locations, old schools, old halls, so much information shared with us today through Geocaching. We often say WA doesnt have the history of other States but boy you did us proud today.

This was our first stop of the day with ilook4geo. We are on the move again and are covering quite a lot of kilomteres as we collect cache finds in different LGAs, which is one focus we have at the moment.
No problem in finding this cache and all was in good order. We were soon on our way again after doing the signing and replacing. Thanks to jossytaylor for this cache placement.

On the hunt again today, along with goingplaces2. It was fairly hot, so we kept on the move to enjoy the car air conditioning. This was one of the caches we found and enjoyed. TFTC.
Holland Track Adventure
This trip had been on my 'Wish List' for some years
The problem was Logistics
I had to get the timing right...…….So many Variables!
Weather
The best time of year is after winter to avoid the very worst of the cold and wet, and before the weather gets too hot in summer
We were very fortunate to get nice warm sunny days and mild nights with no rain, the track was mostly dry and the deep mud puddles could easily be skirted around on dry tracks
Company
I did not want to tackle the track on my own as my vehicle is not fully set up for hard core 4 wheel driving, no winch or high lift kit which would be advisable, especially after rain
Luckily I found a group of other geocachers who were planning to tackle the track and I quickly agreed to join in the group
Today was the day
After spending many hours the previous afternoon removing all my work tools and other stuff out of my vehicle and packing in all my camp gear, I was ready to go early in the morning
Stopping to fill up with fuel on my way out of town then continuing on to pick up my passenger Mistraluna
While we had discussed a rough plan of finding caches on the way to Hyden I was not prepared for the coming adventure that this day would prove to become
Luckily we had all day today and tomorrow to get to Hyden where we would meet up with the other members of our party
On the way we stopped to top up with fuel and headed for our first cache of the day
From the fuel station we drove east to Pinjarra then on Pinjarra - Williams road, through Dwellingup, continuing east until we reached the power line road just past East Boundary rd. We made a left turn here and started heading north
The road was quite good and I did not need to use 4 wheel drive
I was thrilled to see a great number and variety of wild flowers along the roadside which I had not seen before
Our journey continues
Today, leaving from our overnight stop at Newdegate we followed roughly along the Holland track route picking up caches along the way
Here we had a quick park and grab, took a couple of photos to celebrate completing the Holland Track from start to finish
A great sense of achievement for me as I had been wanting to tackle this iconic Aussie historic track for some time
I was great to be able to share the experience with some great people and have an amazing adventure along the way
Perhaps I can return in the future to retrace our steps, but starting at this point and working my way north

Visited this one for a second time as my companion on this epic 8 day adventure, hadn't found this one before today. We travelled the entire length of the Holland Track and then some, all up covering over 2500km I believe. We had an amazing time out there, but the adventure has to end somewhere. Mission accomplished.
I am down south again for the second weekend in a row, this time with the Geoson for a bit of a boys weekend. Stayed in Bunbury of the Friday night then headed for Walpole for night 2.
Headed home via Albany.
Container broke as I was closing it. Replaced with a camo sistema

Up early to go for a drive and bowl over some caches while on leave. First of I don't know how many today but was a quick find as I have done this one before. I hadn't logged it as I forgot all about it and when I did remember I did this (and a few others) I couldn't remember the date so didn't bother logging. So here it is.
Thanks for the cache josstaylor.
