Out in the PeuGEOt today with little littlecogs on the mission of getting our 500th cache.TFTC
Day out with my favs Bogonghazy and Geo dog. Thanks for placing g the geocache
Another day around St Arnaud with LittleBoss2 and Geo the puppy. This was a quick find, thanks again Tyred and Cranky, cache was in the open, so we replaced with a bit of cover
Time to get away for the weekend, so a weekend trip to Bendigo (& St Arnaud) was organised with Geoturtle37.The main target for today was to find as many of the Eucy Drive as possible. We ended up bailing on that, so an alternate plan was made. Found this one out in the open, so after signing duties were done, I replaced it back where GT37 had found it on a previous occasion. Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, Tyred n Cranky ~~
A quick find near the aerodrome that had a much bigger runway than expected considering the size of the buildings at it.No planes in sight which was just as well as Mr Beetle may have put me on one to go back home. He says that all I want to do is geocache. Don't know what he's complaining about as I went to the Halls Gap zoo with him yesterday and took a break for a couple of hours from caching!!Thanks.
Last full day in St Arnaud. Finishing off some of the trails. Enjoyed it here. There was another cacher staying at the camp.
Out for some more caching fun around St Arnaud today with goingplaces2 and happy to add this cache as a smiley on the map. No problem with this cache, but it was returned to a better place. TFTC.
Spending a bit of extra time in and around St Arnaud with ilook4geo and started on the caching list for the day with overcast weather. Found a good selection and each found log was signed to note our visit. This was also found on the ground and was returned to a more likely position with natural camo on top. Thanks go to Tyred n Cranky for placing this cache.
Out and about today to get some targeted caches and anything else we came across. This was one we came across on the way to do some star gazing. tftc#9389
A day around the back roads of St Arnaud collecting a number of solved puzzles (and a few trads as well). Stopped when the rain started. TFTC.
Heading out early on a day trip north and this was my next stop...
Good find here, and another neat container. Log signed and then off for another one.
Thanks for another one....

On my return journey from spending seven days in South Australia getting caches around Millicent and the On Your Bike Series I am spending a few days in the area getting caches in the Star Series. Driving past I couldn't let this one not be found.
This weekend has been a long time coming, it’s been way to long since Ghihash and I got away on a camping trip and last week while having dinner I asked if we could collaborate on the final 2 stars for the Geo art series in St Arnaud, somehow things we had struggled to get in the puzzles the last time we tried to solve these stars finally made sense “Hooray”. So this weekend we finished our last two stars (except for 2 DNF’s) and got our highest caches in one day (50)

Camping in Starnard for the weekend, K9team and I headed out to make an early start this morning. On our 4th attempt to finish the stars geo art series and with all the final puzzles solved. Alas at the end of the day we still have 2 caches to come back and find once they are replaced. Next time we'll get them finished.
Along the way we found a few traditional and a multi and spent some time working on puzzles in the area to hopefully find tomorow.
Thanks to all the CO's for placing and maintaining the caches in St Arnaurd and surrounds. You are the reason we keep comming back here.
Sorry for the generic log.

I found GC59X74 St.Arnaud Aerodrome on 20 Sept 2022 at 2:57 am and it is find number 1,822 for me. I enjoyed finding this nice traditional cache as part of my tour of the St Arnaud area.
I apologise for this generic log today but i have set myself a twenty four hour challenge to see how many caches I can log and time is of the essence. This is the first time i have challenged myself this way and it will be interesting to see how I go and how far I get. My first targets are the St Arnaud star geoart mystery series which i have had solved and waiting for some time. it will be nice to see a bunch of smiley stars on my map. Once I have completed logging those I intend to find traditional caches along the numerous trails in and around St Arnaud itself. Depending on how far I get I may then need to find caches slightly further afield. There's are certainly plenty to choose from in the area.
Alternatively I may decide its all too much and have a snooze in my tent instead. Wish me luck and thanks to all the owners for the lovely caches I am finding today.
Thanks for St.Arnaud Aerodrome and for the fun Tyred n Cranky.

We are on our maiden voyage in our caravan but have stayed close to home and the dealer in case we have any teething problems.
Had to make a trip from St Arnaud to Horsham today to purchase a new mask for my CPAP. A Sunday repair job with super glue and gorilla tape just didn't do the job.
Very wet underfoot today, needed gumboots, or walk the long way around.

In all, I found 132 caces in the dy, geocaching solo, in 42 degree heat.

Hi there Tyred n Cranky.
We found your cache **"St.Arnaud Aerodrome"** today. (This makes our find count 24333).
We headed to St Arnaud to escape all of the shenanigans happening in metro Melbourne. Today we decided that it would be "Puzzle Day", but of course we also had to find any traditional caches we came across along our route. We had a successful day & found 40 caches & DNF'd 0 .
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing
**Left:** Smiley Badge
Thank you for placing this cache here & adding to our adventure.

I’m catching up on logging my caches from our road trip to the Mega and back. ZimbaW and I and geopooches had a great time-thanks for the cache!
Fitzy_1965 and I travelled to St Arnaud with two geo-kids in tow.
Day 3 - we teamed up with ZimbaW & Miz_Wackett and signed logs as FMMZ or ZMMF.
With the star puzzles pre-solved, we made easy work of them all today and picked up any other caches along the way.

The St. Arnaud Event 2019... Postscript.
The Challenge caches yesterday made a good practice run for today's objective: the StARS.
So, good-byes to a few friends still staying at the Mega site, and the fun began.
Five hours later, and 88 of the 89 caches were signed, with a solitary DNF ( the only one of the whole trip)... and I was well on the way to cracking the ton for the first time.
Thanks, Tyred n Cranky... A welcome respite while doing the StARS.

19,654. Found with minniek during our epic visit to the St. Arnaud region for the 2019 Victorian Mega Event. Today we teamed up with ZimbaW, Miz Wacket (ZMMF or FMMZ) and the Geohounds for the Challenges and the Stars series.
Day 3 - After breakfast and relocating our campsite we hit the trail with Zimba and Miz Wacket. After finishing off the challenges we continued on with the Stars series plus any bonus caches along the way. All caches were found without any problems unless otherwise stated. Log was signed, cache replaced and it was off to the next one.

While attending the St Arnaud Mega, Snickersallan and I took to the country roads, finding the StARs puzzle caches which we solved prior to our arrival from Qld. We also grabbed a few trads along the way.
Great hide once we narrowed in on GZ. SL then returned as found.

Waking up in St.Arnuad this morning we set out our plans for the day with AusFox; and Neville_devil. The first priority that we wanted to complete was the StARS Geoart. We had previously solved all these when they were published so wanted to collect the lot before we headed home this afternoon. So with a few hours on the roads we managed to pick them all up with out and DNF's .
A small time out form star gazing for a couple of trads that were to close to say no too.
Thank you Tyred n Cranky for the hide

WOW! What an amazing MEGA location with a lot of friendly faces and a huge variety of quality cache types set around a fantastic location with perfect weather.
Thank you to everyone involved that made the Mega such a great Event.

Most of our logs were signed Aus, Sim, Nev or variants to speed up the process.
A small detour from the nearby series.
My apologies for the generic logs.

Day 3 of the mega, and we thought we better get out and find some of these puzzle caches we had spent so much time on, so we packed Jascat into the big soccer mum car and hit the back roads for the day.
It was a pretty good day out driving around jumping in and out with the flies, and at times, having the locals either point the way to GZ, or just want to have a bit of a chat about caching, the weather and how their crops are going....
We started off with GPSs, then we started to pick GZ as we rolled up, which then turned into leaving all devices in the car and just using the Force to up the difficulty level a bit (which at times wasn't that hard due to the geotrails)
Anyway, we all signed our names in the log books and at the end of the day, nicked off back to camp for the Cobb cooker championships of the world where we dined on roast beef and lamb..yum.
Thanks for it all, Cheers

I was visiting St Arnaud for the mega event but having made a pretty late decision to attend we were staying a long way out of town. I let the rest of the family sleep in and arranged for a 6.30am meet up with SirJ-Oz to get out and grab a few caches in the early morning. We mostly found caches form the Stars puzzle series and a few others along the way. We drove the country roads here and were pleased to find 65 caches in the three hours that we had. A lovely morning for caching out here. This was a quick find in a likely spot. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the cache Tyred n Cranky.
#9751 - 10:12:00 AM; Day two of the St Arnaud Mega trek with Sol de lune and we were off to an early start. Grabbed some breakfast and then headed off along the main street picking up a variety of caches as well as some coffee on the way to a morning event. It was then time to hit the geo art trails near the town. All of the caches in the 'constellation' were found without any problems, along with a few trads we picked up as we passed. Apologies for the generic logs, but it was a big day with almost 200 finds! TFTC Tyred n Cranky
It's that time of the year again, Victorian Mega time, so its off to St Arnaud for myself and the ladies of FurfacesLL. A long road trip ahead, heading off Friday morning and getting home late Monday night and a fun filled weekend. We found many caches of all kinds of variety.. Trads, Multis, Puzzles, EC's, Virtuals, Letterboxes, Wherigos, Events, Cito's and of course, the Mega itself. We enjoyed the weekend and there sure are some unique caches here in St Arnaud, we still have plenty left to collect, so may need to coordinate another trip this way some time.
Today was the day of the FROG.... 4 teams who have joined up to attack some of the trails consisting of FurfacesLL, Rapidlywild, Ozibags and GoodLook, making up F.R.O.G. We have signed the logs as FROG to save room in the logs.
Thanks for the hide Tyred n Cranky And thanks to the FFLL ladies for another amazing trip away

Well today the Tasmanian's were joined by an ex Tasmanian the 1TOOLMAN who had got up at 4am to drive over from Melbourne to just go caching with us.
So with four caching teams we piled into two 4WD's and hit the StARS series with the intent of knocking it as fast as we could, after spending a bit of time at the Mega site we didn't find the first cache until 11:04 but with some quick decamps and five cachers searching we were able to finish the StARS off by 1:51.
We did get some odd looks from the few cachers we passed along the way mind you, can i just say in our defence that we are not normally this mad, oh who am I kidding we are all as mad as a box of frogs!
Along with the StARS we pulled in whatever others crossed our path along the way and we all had an absolute blast, thanks to the CO's for putting these out we as don't get many chances in Tassie for such large fast series's.
Thanks again.
This was the Mega trip that started out as a simple trip to St Arnaud for just the Mega and turned into a mega road trip starting with myself and GooseandEgg flying into Adelaide to collect a rental 4WD so we could drive an indirect route to St Arnaud and then on to Melbourne so we could fly home again.
The Goose had put a lot of planning into the trip so we could both complete or get close to completing our D/T grids, collect a number of good interesting caches and cache types we didn't have many off.
For me this was the best organised Mega I have been to, the stand out was how the committee had managed to get the whole St Arnaud community to welcome us all to the area, just about everyone we meet knew what we were there for and I had no awkward moments explaining what Geocaching was.

Saturday Morning dawned and we had received the news that 1toolman had risen early and was on his way to join us. He jointed us and Tassie Trekkers in our 4x4s and we zipped around the start series along with a few other caches that we couldn’t drive past without stopping. We found them all in a little under three hours and enjoyed the series. I hope we didn’t upset any other caches in our mad dash top know these off. We are normally a bit more sedate than this but don’t usually have the chance to find so many in the one place.
Another 'interruption' to the the stars.
Thanks Tyred n Cranky
When planning the St Arnaud mega trip I was keen to incorporate some missing D/T’s from my grid. Stainless steel rat suggested flying to Adelaide ‘on the way’ and driving across so a route was planned and a fun week of caching began. I cherry picked in my planning so as not to run out of time for the ones I wanted, and we added a few on the day if there was time. We met up with various teams along the way including a planned rendezvous with Tassie Trekkers in Kaniva for a fun days caching. I ended up with around five hundred finds (including labs) for the week, and still had plenty of time for socializing along the way. It was great to catch up with some old friends and of course make new ones.
Special thanks to the St Arnaud mega committee for a great weekend.

In the area attending the St Arnaud (Mega) event, and Annoying Tarbit and I set out on an early caching run for a few hours to collect a bunch of the puzzles that we (independently) solved before coming here. AT was staying some distance away near Avoca, and I much closer at the Woolpack Hotel. Annoying Tarbit collected me from outside the hotel at 6:30 while the rest of my family slept on.
The puzzles were much easier this year than the Parkville ones, which is just as well, as I left solving until the week before... and it is a bit of a drive to come back for another crack at them. We had no DNFs for the entire run for the morning with 65 finds.
I don't usually do a completely generic log for my finds, but unless there was something out of the ordinary, I didn't take any notes.
Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.
Thanks for the cache Tyred n Cranky

We teamed up with Rapidlywild and headed down from Canberra for another Geocaching Victoria Mega, we arrived at our accommodation in Bendigo on Friday afternoon / evening and checked out a few caches in the area before retiring for the evening. On Saturday morning, we had a pleasant drive across to St Arnaud, arriving at the event as the opening ceremony was wrapping up, and the lab caches were released, so we joined the frenzy with the masses solving the cleverly constructed lab caches.
We made arrangements with GoodLook and Ozibags to meet up and attack some of the trails around the area. So today we signed all the trail caches as F.R.O.G this consisted of 4 teams FurfacesLL, Rapidlywild, Ozibags and GoodLook.
We saw some great caches this weekend, well done to the owners for the variety and thanks for the fun team.
Found this one while out doing the Stars trail.

Just a couple more as we make our way back to the Mega site for dinner and socialising. No aerial action here at this time of day. SL at 5.34pm #6677 TFTC Tyred n Cranky
Thank you to all the CO’s and organisers and sponsors of the MEGA Event 2019! We managed to find so many quality caches over the weekend, and our numbers jumped extraordinarily high. We felt warmly welcomed in St. Arnaud; from small businesses, to the farmers along the roads, to townsfolk and of course our fellow caching visitors (the bull ants wanted to come home with us though). We also feel we really explored the peaceful town and surrounds thoroughly.
Now we have several hundred logs to fill out, and it will be very satisfying to see all those smileys appear on the map. We also have quite a few left undone- and we will return here again for sure.

Found today as part of our StARS and Challenges Big Day Out. We have enjoyed the whole experience from the solving to the finding and never have we had a day in 16 years of geocaching where everything clicked so well. Thanks to all involved from D & HA B-A.
Out night caching with MasterSquix, luckily the geokids were sleeping... it’s been fun being part of the mega event. I love this theme.
We are over from Auckland, NZ to attend the St Arnaud Event 2019. Today is a chance to explore the area and attend event. We now had a fellow Auckland cacher "Tramyard" with us. We chose to sign the logs TMGTNZ for our new geotour and help save space on the logbooks. We solved some of the puzzles prior to our journey, the ones we could lol. The caches were awesome in this series and we enjoyed exploring the countryside. Also had fun meeting other cachers along the trail made for a very enjoyable afternoon of activity. SL. TFTC.

Found while in the area for Mega Event with Darby&Joan. We came from New Zealand to see a bit of Australian dusty gravel roads. It was great fun to find this cachea and we enjoyed! Logs signed at TMTGNZ2019 Thanks for nice and handy placements and we appreciate your efforts to keep it alive! TFTC!
#3725 Well well well, completing some nearby puzzle caches we wondered why we saw a number of low flying aircraft. That would be the fact there is an aerodrome in these parts! TFTC Tyred n Cranky.
After finishing some nearby series caches (to be logged later), the M's grabbed this cache as we headed towards the next section of puzzle caches.

This weekend was the St. Arnaud Mega event and I was looking forward to hitting the road for a few days doing some flat out caching, visiting many new and amazing places and catching up with lots of caching friends. The event was a great success and heaps of fun. The caches provided by the local cachers were, in many cases, absolutely mind blowing (FUF009 caches most notably). All in all it was a great weekend, very warm weather and lots of caches found.
Cache found and log signed.
