After visiting cute Raymond Island we still had time for some caches. This letter was must to do. Thanks for it, favo.Greetings from Finland!
We are on a caravanning trip around Australia seeing the sights and finding a few caches along the way. We came over to checkout the koalas on Raymond Island. After we came back I rode my bike to get this one.I bit of searching and I had the cache in hand.
Cache was found after a short search. Thanks for the fun. Cleaning up Victoria with gridge98. We are on a mission this week. Completing twenty finds in Mexican local government areas is the challenge. Another find with the correct criteria. It is in Victoria and we have not accumalated twenty finds in this local government area.Today was the day to find this cache. Today is Fryer's day the eighteenth day of the octavus month of the Roman calendar in the wonderful year of twenty twenty four. We found your cache container and added some inky stuff to the paper sheet or note pad you have supplied for a log book or scroll. The cache container and log book or scroll were in good condition. It was a bit windy today. It was so windy today. With the log signed and the cache replaced it was time to leave. Onwards to the next cache. Woot, that is not to far.I would like to show my respect and acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land, and their continuing connection to it. I wish to pay my respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past, present and emerging.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. We do apologise for the generic logs. Thanks to all the cache owner for placing this cache here for our enjoyment. Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke fr den Cache. Gracias por el cach. We decided to take the easier path on this one and go straight to GZ, cache found and is all goodTravelling around Victoria with Freddo for a week finding caches as we go. With two challenges on our radar we were in full force. All logs signed with our names or F+g98 for the smaller caches. Thanks for the cache
Travelling to Eden today, on a family holiday, we called into Paynesville and located this cache. After a minor hiccup at the start, we were soon on track, and everything appeared as it should. We found the container quickly, and wasted no time signing the log and fleeing from the hordes of mossies who make this location their home. Thanks for this nice letterbox cache, TheTestPilot.
We've headed over to Bairnsdale and Paynesville to find a few geocaches to help with the current souvenir challenge. We decided to find this letterbox 'the old-fashioned way" so set off following the instructions but came a cropper almost immediately when we couldn't spot the No Dogs sign. Luckily the next step along was easy to locate and we were soon back on track. It wasn't long before we had the log signed and the container back in place. Thanks for find #6386TNLN
Am working on a geocaching soup challenge back home in the UK. This much needed letterbox cache fulfils part of the challenge.I read the previous logs and was a little nervous about encountering snakes. I figured that there wasn't much likelihood of encountering a snake during winter. Nonetheless, I came wearing my wellies. The cache was a straightforward find, but I was very cautious about the retrieve. I wouldn't want to wake anything that might be slumbering beside the cache!Am delighted to have signed the log. TFTC
We headed this way for the sunset and to attempt this descriptive letterbox before heading to the winter festival. Some signs were missing but we were able to find our way to the bee utiful cache.thanks for the good concept of this cache and sharing the location.
A pleasant day for caching in the Bairnsdale area and a little bit further afield.Mostly cloudy, occasional sun with no breeze, but it was pretty good for a Winter's Day.We found a good range of caches, learned some interesting things along the way, visited some great locations and discovered some nicely hidden caches. Thanks to TheTestPilot for this letterbox.Found during a sunny break in the clouds.
Hee Hee, yes, I was one of those students!Loved a rare caching day out on way to weekend away with friends this way. Simply stunning weather so enjoyed cruising around to collect a few caches. Thanks for your letterbox cache TheTestPilotRegards, kbucky
Approached this one from the higher level and from the photos knew what I was looking for. Nice to have another letterbox signed sealed and replaced. Thanks TheTestPilot
In Paynesville for the day, of course I had to find this Letterbox cache to add variety to the mix of caches found here. Unfortunately Letterbox caches are few and far between out this part of Victoria. It was fun following the instructions to get to GZ, although I already knew where to go. The hill was quite steep to climb. Luckily Id had the forethought to get my walking pole from the car to help me negotiate the terrain. The cache was in excellent condition.
Always enjoy a letterbox cache. It earned its T rating as I approached from the top and continued down after stamping the log TFTC
Spot on coordinates. We did it the caching way from the top.Nice to find Gippsland first Letterbox cache.TFTC
We are visiting from Canada and staying in the area for a couple of days. This was a quick find at GZ as it was laying out in the open. We re-hid in a more logical and invisible spot at GZ. TFT
Our first cache today. A little walk and a quick find.Danke fr das Legen und Pflegen

In Paynesville for a weekend holiday. As per our usual holiday traditions, Huntress was off on a long run, doing over 15 kilometres while I went off geocaching. Sometimes we plan the 2 morning adventures to bump into each other. Pleased that nothing more than a slight drizzle to stop my adventure, even if the only sun I saw was a slight yellowing of the sky with what should have been the dawn.Huntress caught up to me before I found this geocache. Long wet grass slowed us done. Thanks for the cache The Test PilotHunter
#59 after trying to find the way to get up we finally found it bit of a hard track but fun TFTC
Due to unforeseen circumstances Mr Smokey Bear will no longer be a part of Team Smokey Bear and will continue his adventures as "SmokeyBearOG".
So I'm relogging all previous finds under my new account.
Unfortunately this log will not show the original logging date.

At last the sun has decided to show its face after a few days of clouds. Of course it has brought out the mozzies too! SL at 10.22am left: Christmas pathtag. #9529 TFTC
Out on a Christmas break with sir_spectre, exploring southern Victoria grabbing lots of smilies, finding caches in LGA's and of course signing a few more challenges.
Thanks for placing this cache for us to find.
Thanks for placing this cache for us to find.
Followed instructions and made a find. Getting some more finds in this LGA. quick find.
Left with Mogni the day before Christmas to go down to Mount Gambier for Christmas Day. Then on the 27th left for Victoria. Plan A was to go to the Ottway Rangers, complete the Geo tour in Ballarat and then head to Geelong and take the Queenscliff ferry over to Sorrento then grabbing new LGA's on route to almost the New South Wales/Victoria border and the old 2001 cache near there. Also attending a community day event, a CITO and a couple of other events as well. Then head in to the high country and come back to SA in 11 days. Things didn't go to plan. Turns out that one of my almost new tyres was defective ( side wall blown out ) and blew in the ottway ranges on a narrow road in the rainforest, Drove to Melton to stay overnight and get a new tyre there, tyre machine broken and the other 5 tyre companies not open so off to geelong for a new tyre ( and some caches on the way and in geelong ) . The event we where going to attend in geelong didn't turn out, he was late by ALOT to his own event. Then to ballarat to same day since we had a b&b booked for the next few nights. Planned on getting the ferry at 1200 and ended up on the 400 pm ferry but we did attend a event and CITO in geelong. Then we drive into the rear end of a thunder storm with forecast 20 mm dropping for the next few days. Cancel the high country and change targets to letterbox D/T for fizzy grid only using letterboxes and same wirh the multi fizzy grid plus fizzy grid only using victorian caches plus any challenge caches we where near. Plus getting a few more victorian 2001 caches. And finally any caches that had 40 more more favourite points. Only got soaked to the bone for a couple of days but the water on the tracks was noticeable. On the return home tried to get the rest of the missing LGA's around the Melbourne CBD i missed in the last mega. Still a fun trip was had if not the planned one.

Thanks for the great cache, an afternoon side trip to Paynesville on our quest for the golden dragon!
A quick run down to IGA after Xmas family lunch presented me with an opportunity to swing past here on the way home for a quick find. Fortunately thats exactly what happened as the mozzies were out in force even in the middle of the day.
FYI to CO: the Ziploc bag has split at the base, the logbook is ok but damp.

Beautiful day for a walk along the beach with kploz enjoying the sun and the long weekend.
First time kploz has come across a letterbox cache so we followed the clues to find the cache.
Logbook was damp but still managed to sign our names before scrambling out due to the mass of mosquitos that were eating us alive.

All good, log not too damp. The guys fishing beside the jetty were catching lovely big bream - on prawns, approaching high tide...
while wandering through the area on our way to somewhere else we grabbed this cache with sewthat Mr coffee and The BookHawke

Found while travelling with sharkiefan, on an extended long weekend.
Today we headed east from Sale to cache on Raymond Island with the Koalas and then drive out along the Mitchell River Silt Jetties.
Another interesting day but this one will take some beating.
2 Ferry rides, half a dozen koalas, some cool letterboxes, a great drive around an island, lookout views over Jones Bay, chatting with the odd fisherman along Rivermouth Rd and poor old Milo, the dog, that just loves Rabbit poo.
A quick little letterbox grab while cruzing along Sunset Dr.

Found with FUF009.
A really different day of caching for us. Involving a ferry, an island and a silt jetty. Usually we see wallabies and the odd bluey but today was all about the koala with the odd kanga.
I had a blast.
We did this the Geocaching way. Tftc

Found easily enough but my god the mozzies here!! Thanks for the letterbox cache, always love these
Found with Crafty Dusty and the geopooch Pippa on our road trip from Sydney to Melbourne. It was fun following the directions to the cache, but not so much fun at the gz due to the swarms of mozzies that live there. They actually followed me out of there in a cloud and I had to run away to try and lose them. Bit of a shame to end on a low note. However, thank you for placing a letterbox, they’re always fun
Continuing our family holiday after spending some time at the Wang mega.
The Rats love a letterbox cache so we made a detour off the main highway to check out Paynesville and this letterbox. We soon found ourselves at gz and sheltering from the wind which had picked up.

Looking at the forecast in Melbourne and being that it was hot and humid we decided on the spur of the moment to head to East Gippsland where the weather was going to be much nicer for the weekend and we are glad that we did. We both really enjoy adventure labs and saw that there was a new one at Paynseville so this was the deciding factor.
While doing the lab we came across this letterbox and thought that we would try our luck. We really enjoyed following the instructions to get to gz except for some reason the mozzies were really bad today and at one point we thought that they might carry us off but not before we got to gz where we found the container very quickly as it was sitting out in the open and after adding our name to the log we returned it to where we think it should have been.
Many thanks megs_q for the cache, a favourite point from us. Next time we will be more organised and catch up with you if you are around.

Did this cache following the instructions and found the cache easily and then oh my gosh the mozzies came out of no where . They just attacked. Thanks for the cache
We enjoyed the walk around this part of Paynesville but the mozzies were dynamite this morning. This was a great little letterbox cache. At least the mozzies distracted me from the possibilities of snakes. Thanks for the great cache adventure.
Lots of fun, lots of mozzies!!! Needs a new log book. This one damp and moldy. Can still write in it though. TFTF.
Geokid LOVED this one. It was the first letterbox hybrid we’ve done.
The cache is wet and the log is mouldy but the stamp is still ok

The work year has finished, so it’s time to head off on another road trip - to explore ‘The Pointy End’.
DAY FOUR: Raymond Island, Paynesville, Eagle Point.
A nice quick LB with only the long grass slowing us down.

Day 4 of the Bring In The New Year (BITNY) road-trip. Now settled on Bairnsdale and after an early morning wake up by the cockatoos it was off to explore Raymond Island and Paynesville.
A nice little letterbox which lead us to the cache.
Log is going a little mouldy and probably needs replacing.
Thanks TheTestPilot for placing this gamepiece in the wild for us to find.

Didn’t take us long to find it once we reached the GZ. Had to be wary of snakes though!
Lots of long grass here after spring rains. Plenty of mozzies as well. Good cache though thanks!
Mosquitoes mosquitoes everywhere finally found the container and ran back to the car screaming
My first letterbox cache. Easy find for a local. Wonderful views out to the cove.
Followed the clues to this letterbox whilst out and about with CamoBoy but we couldn’t find the cache. The angler’s sign seems to no longer be around but we worked out the next spot and CamoBoy liked the “Tank” (which is more like a shed and painted in a strange semi-camo). When we got to what we think would have been GZ, there were so many mosquitos and they were even biting where we had just applied repellant!! So we didn’t get to have as good a look around as we would have liked however we couldn’t see any signs of the cache - just a bunch of rubbish and the swarm of killer mosquitos. So we headed back to the car collecting feathers and patting dogs along the way. CamoBoy was a bit tired and had a well-deserved piggy-back and a swim. Beautiful spot for a cache, thanks CO, and if it gets found again (or owner maintenance logged) soon we will go back and try again.

On holidays in Lakes Entrance for the week and decided fo go for a drive to Bairnsdale and Paynesville due to the rain today.
More mozzies, followed the hints and had to ad-lib/decode some of the clues but found the hide without too much drama, then the mozzies swarmed. I was out in the open air away from the hide dancing and swinging my arms and some lady walked past on the foreshore, must have thought I was nuts. Maybe I am

With the recent easing of lockdown conditions we are again taking the opportunity to get away for a few days. So this time it is Paynesville and hoping for some good weather. That didn’t happen, but after setting up just before lunch time we took the opportunity to get out in the open air.
What better than the walking track not far from our caravan park alongside the lake. We decided to take the opportunity to ride our bikes on this occasion. A good choice, as there sure were a lot of mossies along the bushy section of the track.
This was the first for the day. We had set off on the road above the lakeside to begin with, so the ride down the grassy hill to GZ was an interesting one, but made without mishap. On arrival we had some concerns as kids have obviously been playing in the area, but after a bit of a look around we soon discovered the still well covered cache. And a good size too.

After a pleasant walk before breakfast and a personal viewing of the local dolphins not to mention the other wildlife then a cache at the end of it. Bliss... Sorry I didn't have a stamp on me. I had to suffice with my poor example of a smiley face. TFTC.

Lovely little walk, used my stamp (yeah!!), then scrambled down the slope to the GeoWife waiting patiently in the car. T4TC
Easily found, but difficult to log while dancing around to avoid the mosquitos biting me...

While waiting for the supermarket to open, I headed over to find this cache. I was a bit confused at first, because I thought the cache itself was at the posted coordinates, but I couldn't find any cache there. After some searching, I noticed the pole, the stump and then also the correct tree. And there the cache was. Thanks for the cache and greetings from Norway

Sunday afternoon, perfect time for a walk along the Sunset Cove track, well except for the mozzies that is. Our 4yo granddaughter really enjoyed this one as she was able to follow the instructions.
Luckily we had the help of a couple of locals, as some of the original signage is missing and we were a little hesitant about entering the tree - not the paper bark we were expecting
**FEEDBACK TO CO:** Would seem the sign for Question 5 no longer exists.
Thanks 'TheTestPilot' for adding this cache to the gameboard.

A most enjoyable Letterbox cache in a very scenic part of Paynesville. TFTC; third before breakfast
As we rocked up to the vicinity of this cache I had a sneaky suspicion of where GZ was going to be, and lo and behold, I was spot on. I do like it when that happens Anyway, I stamped the logbook and replaced as found, although given there was a bit of rubbish at GZ and I was not in a position for a CITO, I placed a bit more camo over the container in the hope it is not cleaned up with the rest of the rubbish, should a muggle decide to clean up GZ. I also placed one of my swag items in, as it is nautical themed, so felt like a good place to leave it. TFTC!
