Had the opportunity for a visit to Nelson for 2 days with Mrs Yeetrees as she was going to attend a embroidery workshop for 2 days, we decided that we would fly in late Friday night and stay the full weekend. Having booked this trip back in February we werent sure what the weather was going to be like but we decided that we would chance it. Managed to find accommodation at the Monaco Hotel & Resort as it was very central to where we wanted to be. Mrs Yeetrees decided that she would like to come caching in the end with me instead of attending the workshops as there wasnt anything to her liking. This was day 2 of our travels around the Nelson region.
After finding GC4NGC8 - 120 Years On (Nelson), we decided that since we were early for of 10am brunch meeting we would go and pick up another cache as we made our way towards the venue.
Arriving near GZ we managed to find a parking spot not too far from GZ, was quite hard to find a good parking spot in such a small codesat, but managed to find one not too far away.
The walk to GZ didnt take too long and we soon arrived at GZ, while Mrs Yeetrees did the initial search I decided to check the description and hint and after a short search at the most obvious locations we decided to call it quits as there was no sign the cache and it hasnt being found for quite a while, so we decided to move on.
Thanks for bringing us to this spot, we will come back if we have a chance in the future and see if we can find it or not.

Today we wanted to add a few caches to the numbers so we focused on low d/t caches.
Happy to grab this cache as one of them.

Found one like this in CHCH a couple of years ago so once I spotted it I knew exactly what I needed to do. Thanks chrisb34 for the cache
Out cyclocaching around Richmond and Stoke this afternoon. This was find #15 for the ride. Thanks for the cache.
Was a pretty quick find!!! Nice little green space here, with an absolutely gorgeous, massive tree!! Thanks
I don't believe this cache will be muggled any time soon! or will it? I was stumped by this for a long timebut eventually made the grab. Well done. Find #225
Rebel98, rustynz and supernanny and myself are whizzing around Nelson for 3 days, down from Auckland we're keen to get as many caches as possible, but that doesn't mean trads only though, but this trad was an easy find once we thought out of the box. It's dark but that doesn't slow us down.
Ha ha ....was expecting a Gum tree at first...as we have seen a lot of then on our trip !
I suddenly had a flash of genius , and thought of two caches I had found in Auckland ...and yes ! This was the same !
Thanks for the laugh chrisb34

Our adventure started with a local event arranged by rustynz and a group of us are collecting as many caches in the nelson area as possible, ending up who knows where and by whom
our group is the gorbynator, suppernanny and the rustynz.
our group is the gorbynator, suppernanny and the rustynz.
Was a bit worried about being muggled, but being at night we were left alone! after supernanny read out the cache name, we had an idea of what we might be looking for, and quickly I had it in my hand. A little tricky to sign, but I was able to squeeze in all our names, before returning the cache to its hiding place.
Thanks for the hide, a devilish little thing, I think its maybe the 4-5th time I have found one of these

An hour spare in the school holidays. An area I've never been. Almost gave up, glad I didn't. Took a while, but when I re-read other finds, I knew what I was looking for. Very clever hide. TFTC
Lovely sunshine and beautiful spot! Enjoyed the quick challenge and it's an interesting container tftc!
What a magnificent tree! I really love being directed to little gems of spots like this with spectacular trees.
Awesome container too - wasn't sure if I should grab it at first.
Thanks very much

Over in Nelson staying at a nearby motel for a 40th last night.. Left hubby all tucked up in bed and ventured out for an early walk.
Found this quiet spot - no one around - and hope not being watched. Didn't have tweezers - but still managed with my fingernails. Cool cache.

#10169. After a couple of failures, I managed to spot this one pretty quickly. Whew! TFTC.
Could be tricky but a damp morning and I had the place to myself.
A great cache but the logbook is absolutely full
Thanks Chrisb34
A great cache but the logbook is absolutely full
Thanks Chrisb34
New log needed absolutely full and I did not have an appropriate size or I would have replaced it myself
Found! Only room for ~2 more names, might be almost time for a new log. Last day of winter, but the bulbs are in full bloom, as is usual around here. Not the warmest yet though.

The first place I groped, the cache fell into my hand giving me quite a surprise. Must have been lucky. Thanks for an interesting hide.
I decided to go for a long walk and do a few caches .This was a quick easy find .Tftc
A trip back home to the North Island this weekend for Easter with the family, and a few jobs on the section and garden that need some attention. A mid-day flight was booked ages ago and with daylight saving on its way this weekend the chance to find some caches before departing proved to be just the thing. On the road before 7 this morning, and a fair bit of fog slowing the trip from Blenheim but got to 'town' at a decent time and managed 16 caches before the flight including knocking off 5 pervious solved puzzles.
A tricky trio of chrisb34 caches and 3 from 3 finds too, nice
Rested and found and replaced, can't fault that

As I was close by I stopped by. No nano on the seat and I couldn't spend more than the obligatory five minutes looking.
For a cul de sac, it was surprisingly busy at GZ. After a little contemplation on the seat MrM5 discovered the cache. I have seen one like this before but I hadn't twigged as to the nature of this one until the cache was found. TFTC
I visited Broadgreen House (well worth the $4 entrance fee) with Oma and after strolling around the lovely gardens, this cache was conveniently close by for my cache of the day.
That is one enormous tree - I had to go closer and check it out to make sure there wasn't another tree planted close by to make the canopy so huge.
Pretty sure I knew what I should be looking for, and after waiting for a few cars to come or go, set to work, with Oma helping. No luck on my side, so swapped sides. Shortly had the cache in hand, and, yes, it was as expected . An ideal placement for this type of cache container. Thanks for day #260 of my streak.

A short detour on the way home from work...
I thought I was going to come unstuck here, as I overshot the GZ and then had to wait for a couple of minutes for a muggle to ensure it was safe to pull out into a dead end street.
So, I took the hints advice and sat to chew things over. While doing that I had a feeling, which turned out to be the very thing I was looking for!
Nice one
Thanks

In Richmond on a wee family holiday. Out and about with Mrs G at night. Quick find and sign with no one else around. Nice wee hide. Cheers.
Very busy spot here today. Some children playing in the park, a neighbour doing something with a van, and odd neighbours in and out and the "green acres" man in nearby. Im sure I looked odd but nobody took too much notice and I liked the cache. TFTC

This was one of the most epic weeks ever, and definitely my most epic caching week ever.
Me and mum headed up on a holiday north to Nelson and very wider surrounds. In total during the trip, we found almost 500 caches! (470 odd I think, but final results are yet to be in! ) We covered about 3000 odd km I think too. Crazy! And had our absolute best caching day ever too at 160 found. Spend 9 days travelling, caching, and having the best time ever!!
So sorry about not so epic logs, as otherwise this would probably take me the rest of my life to log, especially with two big events to organise coming up! Eeek!!
Almost every single log we signed as 'Team Polak' to avoid needing to write out both usernames taking up space on logsheet - as well as precious caching time!! Haha.
Consec caching day # 704

For the sake of sanity we set off with sonia26642 for a crazy geocaching trip, aiming to cache until we drop. The main destination was Nelson and the ‘surrounding’ area, but then we ended up covering a few miles in three northernmost regions, plus a few in Canterbury. We were signing/stamping the log as 'Team Polak' or ‘TP’ for the two of us on this trip to save logbook space. We found a lot of different caches, city ones, road side, park side, up a hill and on an island, and we enjoyed every single one of them. It was good to be a professional thingfinder for a few days!
We had great fun and are grateful to all CO’s who placed caches for us to find, and help restore our sanity before returning to our other non-geocaching lives!!
Come and join us the next New Zealand geocaching MEGA event!! Register your interest now at www.nzmega2015.com to receive newsletter updates and be the first to know. It will be a great event, come and be a part of it!!

Ahah! Our third visit but after seeing this type of container online things began to fall into place. Our first of this type. It gets a favourite too! It's turning into a ChrisB34 kind of day.
This was the second of four caches we found tonight. All nearby drapes and blinds were closed so no problem finding the cache and signing the log. Thank you chrisb34.
Not a soul was to be heard or seen tonight. The cache was soon in hand and after putting our implement to good use the log was signed. Thank you Chrisb34 for placing this cache.
Nice One!!!!!!!!!!!Out for a cache hunt with Grandson Bryn on a very cold windy election "Spring" day. Clever bit of technology. Well done! Much fun! Thanks
For some reason I thought that I must be going to a gum tree - doh. That tree that I've cached at before is not a gum.
Nice hide.

SoBad was watching the not so Junior SoBad lad play football - so Mrs stopped by on her way to see the end of the game and find a cache. We have both been here before and do remember the rather unpleasant tale of the first cache here. This was not quite in the same spot but well named none the less - in fact Mrs SoBad was looking for the right thing from the start which is not always the way. No problems with the find because it had to be here - and was.
Thanks.

Yes i remember this spot. No muggles around for me luckily and cache was an instant find as I have seen this kind before. Great one, TFTC
Caching with Sidewaze. We chewed on this one for a while, but finally figured it out! Had to wait for a muggle to leave the area then...TFTC
Don't you hate it when someone says they're going to pick you up and you wait and wait and wait - - - ?!!!! That's what happened here today. We sure hoped that the ride would hurry up and come and pick up the muggle who was just standing there watching everything that was happening in the street!!!! In the end we had to retreat and return later, by which time we were so sure about what and where we were looking that an instant find was executed. - - - We had plenty of time to ponder upon the cache hider's horticultural dyslexia or otherwise. - - - Thanks for the hide .
I'd found two other caches in this area in the past but they were at a slightly different location. Like KE I was also a little confused by the cache name. Saw where my GPS was pointing and when I located the cache all was clarified. Went back to car for log extraction device, signed log and replaced as found. TFTC, Biggles.
Last time I found a cache here it was at an Oak tree so this cache name had me puzzled until I got near gz and then the ahaa moment dawned. Quick find in the dark.
Thanks chrisb34 for the cache.

Wahoo, a very quick FTF at 7:13 pm just 7 minutes after the notification came in. How could I resist when just 300 m from home. Thanks Chris.
2nd to find. I knew I'd be pushing it to beat the Stoke locals. Quick find in the first place I looked. Thanks for the cache
