We wouldn't have had such an interesting trip without your geocache. Thanks so much for hiding and maintaining this cache. Even though it was a flax bush. It was an easy find because of the size.

23-Oct-22
#21652. Flax hides aren't our favourites, and the two specimens at GZ were pretty big. However, the cache was a decent size, and easy to see from the right angle. Phew! TFTC.

23-Oct-22
The cache name sounded ominous and with 2 large specimens to choose from, our hearts sunk to our boots on seeing gz. Luckily the cache was a good size and StreetWalkerNZ soon sniffed it out. I hung back as there was a bit of dew on the long grass. TFTC.

02-Jul-22
A diversion down a back road to find a few caches and return to Oamaru. So much dairy!

Apologies for the copy and paste logs. Out with Coconuts3 on a very pleasant day out along the trails in the inland Oamaru area. Logs signed CC3BP in most cases. TFTC

On a mission this morning to get as many caches as I can for the mystery at the museum challenge. TFTC

13-Dec-18
I had moved my snail shell down the Waitaki Valley to Awamoko for a few days. Today I needed at least 6 caches for my personal challenge of having all the days on my calendar at the same shade of green or darker.

I decided I would drive to todays planned caches instead of biking to them as I might have got a bit damp. I was very thankful that this was easily spotted as I hate wet flax.

Cheers for the cache.

Seeing Flax in the name had me wondering what sort of battle this hunt was going to be. It turned out to be a quick clean find.

24-Oct-17

thanks for the placement, we have been loved travelling and visiting the roads of oamaru and the many caches each CO has taken the time to place, thank you for taking the time to place and maintain them.

Having a fine caching time while attending the Oamaru Geofest.
Found a section of A2O puzzle caches so now time for a few park and grabs.

There had to be at least one that mentioned that word 'flax'. But still a smile is a smile is a smile. Cutty grass is worse by the way.

21-Oct-17
With Gap (of Fap and Gap)… Our journey to the bottom of the South Island has been almost two years in the planning. We were determined to make it to Oamaru Geofest. We decided to also factor in completing a couple of missions (JASMER and Virtual challenges), and the wheels started turning...

Day Five: Oamaru Geofest

The afternoon was dedicated to walking sections of the A2O trail. We found it more effective to park strategically and walk between finds. We got to see a lot more of the countryside in this way, and we met some colourful characters too... The majority of caches were quick finds and in good condition... TFTC.

DAY 5
Another day with a variety of caches to be found, attended and answered.
Thanks to all the CO'S for their caches and the arrangement of the Oamaru Geofest. SLTFTC

Headed out for a Mad Mission with Team_Gaters and 8ManAfter we signed our logs today 'T8T' cos were dynatmite! I grabbed 8Man at 5.30 am and we grabbed TG just before 6am and we were on the road before 6am with the bikes on the back. The plan was to drive to Oamaru and then attend the events and thrash the caches hard. We wanted to do as much of the A2O as we could and as many PnGs that we could manage. We stopped by the event first and then we had to stop an grab breakfast at 10am. We grabbed some lunch and headed for the hills. Had a great time and worked our way back to town for the CITO at 6pm. Scored a delicous dinner in town and headed home. Got home just after 12am knocking out 620km and 115 caches. Good times!
Quick park n grab.

Cache 51 of 115 for this crazy day!
Thanks for the cache drawp.

A long days caching (Mad Mission?) with TheWanglers and 8ManAfter..revelin a bit of the Geofest Event in Oamaru. We signed our logs 'T8T' cos were dynamite...and 'in a hurry'...LOL! Picked up by TW & 8man at 6am...and we had our bikes loaded for a bit of A2O action during the day. The plan was to drive to Oamaru and then attend the events and thrash the caches hard. We stopped by the event first and then we stopped to town to grab some breakfast and a packed lunch and then headed out to hit some trails. Had a great time and worked our way back to town for the CITO at 6pm. Grabbed some tea in town then headed for home. Got home just on 12am knocking out 620km and just over 100 cache finds for each of us. A great day with great company!
Nice series around the roads...heading to part of the trail that we can bike...cheers.

#2,988: Binge Smiley!
What an adventure we had today! TheWanglers, Team_Gaters, and I headed out at dawn from Christchurch with four goals in mind: 1) Find Many Caches, 2) Get TG to 7,000 finds, 3) get me to 3,000 finds, and 4) Have Fun! Needless to say, all were accomplished in spades. It was only my second 100+ day ever, and had us driving, walking, running, biking, and even crawling to make the finds. We were also able to find at least 7 different cache types, and attend two events, in order to catch up with old friends. Thanks to all the hiders, but most of all, thanks to my partners in crime! We signed all logs as "T8T", sung to the tune of AC/DC "TNT".
SL/TFTC!!

Riding more of the A 2 O Cycle Trail seeking out caches. Today, being the second of three planned days on the trail. Today's ride is from Peaks Road to Weston. The day started by driving up to Peaks Rd via Tunnel Road and signing off the Off The Track Tunnel series. This was the 38th of 52 caches found. My thanks to the CO's for placing all the caches.

After cycling two sections of the A2O, we finished the day with this relaxing drive by section. A fairly quick find despite being one of our unfavourite hiding places. TFTC

Headed down south with C&D and 11HPG11 for the CHCH Mega as part of the HOAC team, and decided that a Mega road trip/Mega Mission was the right thing to do. After a great day caching from Dunedin to Omarama we manged to get a few hours sleep before the big day 2 started.

Day 2 was the start of a ambitious plan to try and find as many caches as possible in one day! To maximise our chances of a big number we decided a 24 hour caching day was the only way to go. What an epic day, and some great moments too. The rough idea was to cache from Omarama to Oamaru, and then head north towards Christchurch. A huge thanks to everyone for the cache placments, and I apologise for the copy and past logs.

Find #162 for the day.

25-Oct-15
This was the start of a MEGA caching weekend in the company of good caching friends. In the company of both HKCB & 11HPG11 this was going to be another memorable caching road trip for many reasons.

This is the mission that we had set ourselves up for several months back. It was HKCB's idea, I was just dumb enough to think it was a challenge and I'd be up for it, 11HPG11 was silly enough to come along for the ride once we confirmed a spare seat (Nova Lightening pulled out for family reasons).

We were going to try to beat the NZ one day record in New Zealand (it would have been easier with 4 people), so after 2.5hrs sleep after a good feed at Omarama we were ready to go. This was the one hundred and sixty third on what was to be an epic day with what amounted to 401 caches collected for the day and about 38 DNF's. We managed this with 10minutes to spare but by this time we were done for and still had to drive back to Kaiapoi. All in all an epic days caching with good friends and something I don't think any of us will repeat in a hurry.

All in all it was going to be a big day with a number of challenges, great sceanery, and of course great company. Fantastic driving along and up here as the landscape was so different from what we are used to back in the Waikato. One good thing about backroads being that we could continue our neferious activites without being disturbed by muggles.

Nice quick find here without any issues Cool.
thanks for the placement , thanks for the cache

What a Mega Mission for a group of Hamilton Over Achievers! A great trip, a long time in the planning. I teamed up with Cats&Dragons and HKCB to grab a couple of caches while in Christchurch and surrounding areas for the 2015 Mega Event. We flew out from Auckland on Friday night and traveled to Dunedin in the dark of the night. Stopped for a few hours sleep before setting off to grab caches in the Otago area on Saturday before attempting a few more on Sunday and then arriving at the Mega on the Monday. An amazing, yet crazy road trip

When C&D mentioned a day with over 400 caches I should have turned and ran... instead I said yes, and here we are. 401 caches in 23 hours and 50 minutes. All done on about 2.5hr of sleep. It was hard work with only 3 of us and there were times that were hard and tiring but I still had a blast! An amazing experience that one has to be slightly crazy to even consider

Enjoyed exploring this area. Thanks for showing us the sights

Another great find while slowly heading to the Christchurch Mega, although I seem to be heading further away on this league of my journey and unfortunately in the pouring rain!
Thanks for adding to the fun of my trip.
