No luck today, hard to get to because of river height. Got to where it should be but all that's left is a burnt out stump.

Not even looking after reading the passed comments. Maybe some TLC or a move is recommended.
Found the obvious place, but nothing there. Didn’t want to look too hard for to syringes and toilet paper around. A lovely spot though
After the most treacherous 230 meters downstream from the weir and a scramble up the muddy bank I soon had the prize securely in hand. That was the easy bit. Getting back was even more difficult and resulted in an ungrateful slide and getting well covered in stick grey mud. TFTC
TFTC. We are camped at Mays Bend just outside Bourke. We decided to explore the area using geocaching as a guide. Took us to some interesting areas and there were some great hides. A lovely day of caching and exploring. 24 finds and Home #4 and #9 appear to have gone MIA.
We really enjoyed coming to this cache. I was lucky that Pa pulled up within 3 m of GZ so it was in fact a quick DIDO except we continued to explore the area along the river to the weir. What an incredible sight it was. Thanks for bringing us here. Gets a FP from me. Cache was returned to its hidey hole after signing duties were completed.
An early start had me out here over a corrugated road. Didn’t read the description till I arrived at the weir. Oh well. Walked to make an easy find by a difficult route TFTC Bourkebornandbred
[:(!] Thanks for an awesome effort.

Then the time cbecame availible [^] so a road trip was on
We found many caches , most from Bourkebornandbreed , ansd thanx to all other CO's for the placements we really had a good fun out and about
We found some reqular caches, some very well constructed we found mint tins (which really are not "small", a 250ml clip lock is a "small") [?] , we found most of what we looked for
Thanx again to all for our most enjoyable road trip
First came here in 1977 and camped pretty close to GZ , talk about bring back memories !
Sadly my photo from today is very sad compared to others in this gallery and my 42 year old memories
cheers from the Routers

Made our way back to NSW, after attending QOGM at Barcaldine
Staying in the caravan park for a couple of days so that hubby can watch the V8s & to look for the caches around town
I wouldn't like to drive down here when it's wet.
It was good to find such a variety of caches & hides along the way.
Thanks for placing this cache Bourkebornandbred

I spent the day seeking out the caches around Bourke before making my way north to the Charleville area. This was a good little series that gave me a bit of an appreciation of dome of the area’s features and history. Thanks Bourkebornandbred for the cache.
While in Bourke for a few days we enjoyed finding our way around the town via your caches. What a shame this area has not been maintained. The road was terrible and the information board unreadable at GZ. A good spot to bring tourists but certainly needs some TLC. Thanks for sharing it with us. TFTC
Today we explored Bourke and surrounds and picking up a few caches on the way and this was one of them.
An easy find at GZ.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Our final day caching around Bourke before heading off tomorrow.
What a sad state of affairs to see this poor lock no longer in use. We spent ten years working and volunteering on a paddleboat in South Australia so understand very well how much the river trade depended on them.
Thanks very much for bringing us here Bourkebornandbred[^]

Stayed in Bourke for an extra day due to rain in the morning
Went to the Back of Bourke centre in the morning then spent the afternoon finding some caches
I took the hard way in for this one along the river track from the weir
Then a climb up the step bank but I soon had the cache in hand
Thanks Bourkebornandbred TFTC

Cairns trip 2016. Day 2. As I head further west I traveled through Nyngen & Bourke to stop a bit north of the border at a creek side rest stop. The day was dry but I had mixed results from my caching in some remote areas of Australia. I had a fun afternoon in Bourke. Lots of DNFs but the ones I found were all good. What an amazing spot. A few people fishing.
Thanks.

#2727 - Found after a few minutes. Parked the geopushbikes at the weir then walked along the river side then up to the bank to the dead reet find.
All part of the fun and challenges on our AroundOz bicycle adventure via
the highest peak in each state and territory while finding geocaches along the way..
See http://www.crazyguyonabike.com/doc/15119
Many thanks to the cache owner Bourkebornandbred for establishing and maintaining this cache.
Saw some red tail cockatoos here. Therefore most worthy of a favourite point.

Much better views of the weir from GZ than the parking area. Quite a busy place while we were there so its placement is probably a good thing. Hard to imagine it all being underwater at times.
We were talking to one of the local policemen back in Bourke and he has been stationed here for 3 years and never been out here!!
And on a similar theme - we spotted a pig walking up the street as we returned to the outskirts of town after getting this cache.
Thanks.
