Between light rain showers today, Redcb and I enjoyed our time together, walking around the Point Gellibrand Coastal Heritage Park. We gathered the needed data as we progressed, and enjoyed watching some of the shipping passing by.All went well until we arrived at GZ, when we became a little frustrated. We worked through our figures again, finding no errors, so the search continued. We had both looked in the obvious location, without success, but a more thorough investigation, and a bit of probing, revealed the prize. Thanks for this cache, Robmc, I really enjoyed learning some of the maritime history. A favourite point coming your way.
Crustyvarmint and I were thoroughly enjoying our day out at Williamstown today despite the occasional showers and the wretched wind which claimed the life of my poor little umbrella...sigh...in the bin it went! This was an educational wander along the paths of this coastal park revealing some of the history of the area. Crusty and I gathered all the information we needed for each stage, and calculating our coords but we came to a screaming halt at the final. We searched, we got rained on, we searched some more, we got rained on some more, we re-checked our figures, and my umbrella met its end...did I mention that?.....I digress, but its because my little umbrella "took one for the team"......sad face, sad faceBack to the business at hand: after rechecking all our calculations to be sure we were indeed correct we returned to the scene once more and set too with renewed determination. And wouldn't you know it, as always seems to happen, within a minute or two Crustyvarmint had the prize in hand! Sighs of relief were gasped as we headed our weary little bodies back to the train station for our victorious return home. Thanks for the cache Robmc, favourite coming to you.
We thoroughly enjoyed our walk around this park this morning. Interesting history at each of the waypoints and spectacular scenery. At GZ, we honed in on one particular spot, came up empty handed, then mucked around for the next 15 minutes before revisiting the original spot. As Maxwell Smart would say, we missed it by that much. Clever hide and a fun multi. Cheers Robmc.
On secondment to Melbourne, Australia, combined with short holidays here and there. Day 21/74, Sunday. Another day with a lot of walking in hot weather. The good thing about the hot weather is that it works as a great excuse for ice cream. This time I was wandering around Williamstown the whole day. Lovely day!The last cache of the day. This, too, took quite some time to solve, but the tasks were clear and finally, I made my way to the GZ. It took me quite some time to figure out where the container is, but after all, there really are not many places. Thank you for the cache, and greetings from Vaasa, Finland! Gorgeous morning, there is not a breath of wind and the water was almost like glassA lovely short walk, so quiet I could hear the conversations of people in boats out on the bay. Fabulous location and loved the history lesson, learning so much more history while geocaching than I ever did at school. Thanks for setting out this multi RobmcRegards kbucky
Thank you Robmc for taking me on a stroll around this lovely Bayside park. I can't remember the last time I was down this way, but I really did enjoy the scenery. I followed the trail and found the waypoints very straightforward, with the exception of some missing letters from the alphabet. It was all good otherwise! Cache was quickly in hand and despite the reach, I was happy with what I had found. TFTC
I found this cache on my 25,000 step walk zig-zagging my way from Newport to Point Gellibrand. My third and final multi for the day and third and final zig back to the coast. Interesting as I followed around the points that it was hard to spot that there were even signs there till I was close to the waypoints even as large as they were. Thanks from D B-A
Perfect cache for a glorious spring afternoon. Had to fossick a little but found it. Tftc.
Nice stroll around the park this afternoon picking up the clues before making my way to GZ. Thanks for the nice guided walk and cache!
We were out at Point Gellibrand chasing an AdLab location or two and after all our driving today, it was time to stretch the legs with this multi. There were a few dog walkers and families using the paths, but by the time we reached GZ they were elsewhere. Thanks for giving us an opportunity to discover the history through the story boards scattered along the way. SL at 2.40pm after replacing the very wet and almost full log sheet. The cache container has lost its lid, so moisture can easily enter. We didn’t have a zip lock bag to put the new log sheet into. A check by the CO might be in order. #9942 TFTMULTI Robmc
We have often walked around here leading one of our favourite evening walks for our bushwalking club, never having the opportunity to do this multi.
Today we are having a short day of caching due to an evening commitment. Having completed a few nearby cache tasks we had some time to get this one sorted.
We found this to be a very enjoyable and informative cache.
The coords for the final were spot on.

With a unexpected change in plans for today, I contacted Rebel Acts to see if he was available for some short notice caching enjoyment.
The day was long but certainly filled with much laughter and caching stories.

Out and about with My good caching mate Omegaman1971, there are always plenty of laughs while we are turning caches into smiles. Today we had unfinished business back in Williamstown and Altona.
This is one of the caches found today. I have always loved doing caches here over the years, so much History to learn. Almost missed finding this but I let my fingers do the finding.
Thanks Robmc for the cache.

An interesting multi here. Learned a lot about an area I don’t visit very often.
A very popular place. Even the local coppa popped in to say hi.

With a day off today, I went right from one end of the green line to the other with a caching trip in Williamstown I'd been thinking about for a long time but never actually acted upon until today.
The weather was downright miserable the entire time and I seemed determined to wreck my already pretty beaten shoes with all the walking through surfaces of varying consistencies!
Still, the intermittent rain did a good job of scaring away the muggles and I managed to get some caches I suspect would've been significantly more difficult on a nice day.
This was another enjoyable tour of the area's history through a variety of information boards.
With the wind whipping through here, I spent my time wandering with my Airpods in and passing a few spots I suspected the cache might be hidden.
When I eventually came up with the coordinates to gz, I realised I was totally wrong and was indeed taken to a spot with a nice view.
There weren't too many spots a cache could be hidden without me having to poke my eye out to reach it, so I searched the area but was unable to find anything.
I sent off a PAF to a past finder and, typically, found the cache immediately afterwards.
> Never mind, just got it. That was not in there the last five times I poked around in there.
Thanks to robmc for placing this multi!

In the city for a work conference, but I thought I'd head down to Williamstown to take a look at The Timeball Tower. Then after that, to collect a few location caches. Williamstown is a very lovely area in general.
After visiting the Timeball Tower, I enjoyed a stroll around this foreshore park, even if the breeze coming off the water was pretty cold. Great history was leant while doing this multicache, and then I failed to find the geocache in the obvious place the first 2 times I looked. Pleased that I eventually found it, even if it took too long.
Thanks for the cache Rob MC

After completing #2, I moved into #1 with time running short. Managed to find all the information and get to GZ with enough time to make it to lunch. Searched around but the cache eluded me. I think the sun was on the wrong angle and the shadows did an excellent job of obscuring the hiding spot. Eventually got my hand on it and was a bit late for lunch. Doh. Thanks!

Today I was heading to Geelong for Bushfires CC event but I needed to make a detour through Williamstown to try and find a few multi's that I done but not found.
Well I had to re visit this one to make amends for the last time I was here as I was looking in the right spot, just not looking well enough.
Today there wasn't any problem as I was able to make a quick find and I was on my way.

We were in the area to grab the first stage of a virtual nearby. This walk was very enjoyable and informative. Our 7-year old was quite shocked by the treatment of children during those times.
As usual with multis they are a great source of information about the history of the area - thanks for bringing us here.
First multi cache! I had no idea about most of this stuff and I've only ever lived in Willi. TFTC!
Multi's are always so memorable and this was no different. Thank you Robmc for this cache. I really enjoyed the tour. The plaques were super interesting and written in a humorous manner which Jeniquoi and I enjoyed thoroughly. TFTC!
Found today with the geofamily. Such a busy place along here with lots of people getting fit! Off to grab a few more before meeting the Melbourne folk! Thanks for the cache.
Found with icw. It's hard to believe that this part of the coast was once a bustling port with ships loading and unloading cargo, goods trains puffing in an out of spur lines and boats being built and repaired. As the information boards pointed out much of the work at the wharf was hard and dangerous. Thank you for the history lesson.
A breakout of Covid cases changed my plans to travel to Qld for the mega after I left home and was travelling to Melbourne. As we want to go to WA to see our offspring we couldn't afford to take the risk so instead spent a couple of days doing some caches with Robmc.
What to do now! Lets go caching. Multis with lots of waypoints scare me - its too easy to stuff it up but today I was feelong confident.
Thanks for bringing me here again Robmc

Awesome walk here in Williamstown, a place we recently discovered whilst spending the night here, with my geo Cacher Street Team1.
I loved this cache! Last night M&G Clan and I went on a ghost tour and heard many of the stories mentioned at these waypoints! After trying and failing at the nearby traditional cache we thought we’d tackle this multi on a lovely day! It was good fun, we loved the views and the cache was soon in hand at the final gz. Thanks for a great cache!
You need longer arms than mine! Thanks for the walk around a park I’ve visited many times, and forcing me to take time to learn the local history. Great hide in a high muggle area. TFTC
Nice one! Took about 20min for the walk, another 10min to find. It was in the first spot I looked but just too dark the first time I looked. TFTC!
Having a wonderful after dinner stroll along the waterfront. Great to check out all the interpretive signs and enjoy the view and breeze. Had the bonus of seeing a little bush mouse scurry away from the final GZ.
A good history walk of this area where Mr Whippy now takes prime position near the timeball tower & tank farm. TFTC
A beautiful walk around an area I'd never been to. I didn't realise that this was THE PLACE to show off expensive and fancy cars. Seeing fancy cars fanging it between speed humps, and then watching them having to go at a snails pace over them was pretty funny. Meanwhile my little Yaris was able to go 40 over most of them, as long as I lined them up properly. Thanks for bringing me here Robmc

While it's nice to cache with friends, sometimes you need a bit of time on your own. So I took a drive down to Willy for a nice walk.
It turns out that my choice of parking spot was perfect, splitting the difference between the two Port Gellibrand multis. A pause to take a happy snap for another cache, and off I strolled, rechecking answers I'd already amassed on a previous visit.
And sure enough, the cache was exactly where I'd looked that time, so I dunno what was up then. Either way, thanks for the smiley, Robmc.

Found on a short detour from our walk around Willamstown. Eudes had done most of the work, but the find eluded him until, with several sets of eyes, it was spotted and the log signed.

I'd had a look for this one last month without success even though, as it turned out, the final coordinates were pretty well spot on. With today's walk passing close enough by here, I was able to talk my personal 'cache busters' into a diversion for a look. [8)] Two other sets of eyes joined us and after a short search, it was Alsume who finally spotted the hide at 12:40 leaving me somewhat red faced (yet again ).
A very informative tour.

This was the first cache for this morning, a nice and easy multi. Made my way over to GZ, there is quite a bit of glass here so please be careful to future finders! Cache is all good otherwise
Today I made my way from Melbourne to Adelaide. After arriving on the Spirit of Tasmania in Port Melbourne this morning I had a few target caches I wanted to collect along my way to break up the 8 hour drive.
All together a total of 49 caches for the trip as it slowly got hotter the further west I got.

While over this way visiting my sister in the Williamstown hospital I ducked out between her other visitors. Really enjoyed walking along the water front learning more about the history of this area. Picked up all the clues and soon at GZ. Needed to wait for a couple of dog lovers to pass and then made the easy find. Stopped and enjoyed the view and then made my way back to the hospital. Thanks for the another history lesson Robmc
Today I teamed up with Rock Chalk to do some freestyle caching across the inner west of Melbourne, an area I hadn't really cached before. It was good to get out as the previous week had been emotionally draining and it was nice to just relax and have some laughs.
Another enjoyable walk around the area. Answers were gleaned easily and after a short search at our calculated GZ, we had a cache to sign. TFTC!

I had the great pleasure to spend some time caching today with day1976. My first few days in Melbourne have been mostly cloudy and cool, so it was nice to have a sunny, much warmer day today.
Enjoyed a very pleasant stroll as we completed this Multi. Such a beautiful area to be wandering around on a gorgeous day. TFTC!

Today was a day to gather Multis for the Multi Month Challenge with Simsfamily which took us to some great locations with informative information.
I always enjoy the history lesson from multis, an understanding of times gone by.
The Information was gathered and made our way to GZ. We searched for a couple of minutes and then rechecked a spot with some intresting camo on top.
Log signed and replaced as found

This month I have some extra time on my hands after taking a redundancy so taking a relaxing break is in order. What better thing to do to relax than some caching. So I decided to tackle multi month and I also roped Ausfox; in as well. We had made a good start last weekend but Ausfox; needed a few more to really get on top of things so today we were to tackle from Sunshine to Williamstown to grab as many multi's as we could.
After we had gathered all the information we required and arrived at GZ we took a little while to locate the cache. Ausfox; finally found the prize just when we were starting to doubt our arithmetic as I am really good the stupid mistake at times.
Thank you Robmc for the cache.

That's probably overly succinct, allow me to elaborate and show some worthy recognition to CO. [@Crack'n'LeeLee](http://coord.info/PREMQM6) and I decided to celebrate my reaching 1k finds on the weekend with our favorite office lunch, a dirty great big kebab. And some chips. As a result, we then needed to do some walking, which lead us to here to pick up one of the very few caches we have left unfound around these parts (apart from that b..... virtual. I will get that thing finished. But probably not in time for winter :/ ).
We methodically worked our way around the WP's in order, ticking everything off as we went without too much of a hiccup beyond a butthead moment at one point. 25 minutes later, we were at GZ where a relatively quick find was made and we could return to the car having waked off about 0.37% of our lunch in the sunshine.
Thanks Robmc for yet another enjoyable cache around these parts.

A lovely, much needed, walk around this area today after a big lunch.
The area in general was pretty quiet although a muggle did kindly move on from GZ just in time for BFMC and I to find the hide.
A well laid out multi taking in the history of the area.

After the stroll needed to complete this cache, we came across a couple of muggles sunning themselves under the clouds right where we needed to look. Thankfully they had no interest in what we were doing and whilst one of us went look out, the other made the find. Thanks for the stroll and showing us more about this area.
All was going well with this multi, until the end. There were two males right at GZ. What could possibly interest them??? One person found the cache while the other made sure the backs of said males stayed pointing towards us. The log was signed, and cache replaced without arising any suspicion, mainly thanks to the males lack of interest in turning around! Thanks so much for placing this cache Robmc
Apologies for the late log. My Mum was visiting us from Ireland and I took the day off work to spend some time with her. Having taken her out of the metro area last week I thought a little trip over the bridge to Williamstown would be a good jaunt without having to drive too far. After an earlier find we stopped at a great little cafe in Williamstown to grab some lunch. We then headed down to the Timeball Tower to check out the trad and multi caches here. Having made hard work of the rad we seemed to sail though all stages of this one without too much trouble. At GZ we took a bit longer before eventually spotting it in an area we just hadn’t checked in enough detail originally. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the multi cache Robmc.
My spanish class was cancelled so tonight I used the time to have a cache. Spiffy- and I attempted this with no luck last week. Prior to that I had also tried. Turned out it was indeed muggled. CO was straight onto it and with fireworks in the distance the find was made. Fav given as it brought me to a new area of Melbourne. Thanks to Robmc for placing this cache.

I headed back out here with Fleabag- tonight to rectify our DNF's the other week. I then left him to do a couple more caches I had already found and I headed off for another errand I needed to run.
Good history lesson on this one...we even met a local from the nearby information booth walking her dog that explain some more of the history to us.
Thanks RobMc for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

With threatening rain today we decided against a bike ride and headed out for a bit of a freestyle around Williamstown and Altona. Ended up with hardly any rain but plenty of wind so we were still glad we weren't on the bikes.
Fleabag- started off well today with the first few finds in a row but I made up some ground later in the day.
With a round of the waypoints we had a good looking GZ, spent 30 minutes then expanding our search area. Went back and checked all our numbers and got the same location but still no find.

Found on this beautiful sunny day as I rode from Williamstown towards ALtona on an excellent bik path. Just spending a few days here while my daughter is doing some work experience locally. I definitely want to come back. It feels like it is a world away from the city over the bay. TFTC trail - it was very informative.

With holidays and perfect weather and a need to find caches that are "really old and decrepit" (hehehehehe ...in joke) to fulfill the Jasmer Challenge, we decided a trip to Williamstown for the More Melbourne Television Trivia cache was the go for today! After finding that one we headed here. This was a nice multi wandering around on this very mild summers day although it was warming up by the end ... it was then I realised I had forgotten my hat so we had to visit a $discount$ shop after lunch to get a hat for the rest of the day lol All the WP's were easily decoded and cache found very easily with great co-ords.

A sunny Sunday in and around the western side of Melbourne.
The trio of multi caches, Point Gellibrand #1 & #2 and Ship to Shore must share the same log. Once we finally found a car park, there was no other way than to jump on the bikes. The challenge included muddled data, differences of opinion with the GPS'r, which took fright and jumped off the bike at one point. Plus of course the need to negotiate the people having bbq's or queuing for ice creams at strategic waypoints. All round we learnt some interesting local history and logged each of the caches with a FP.
Thanks Robmc for placing caches for everyone's enjoyment.

Find 6 for the day. While slightly longer than its sister cache, Mrs Perpetuallylost and myself solved this one a bit quicker as we were more careful entering figures into the gps and were able to see the waypoints a bit easier from a distance.
No less enjoyable to do though and happy to have another signature in the logbook.
Learning a lot of the history of this area today, cheers. GIGC.

Dropped into Williamstown on our way back from a short stay in Geelong
Enjoyed the hunt, the history lesson, the views and finally locating the cache which was found in good condition. Signed the log and returned as found
Many thanx to Robmc

After doing Point Gellibrand No2 the other day
I came back to finish another multi and to do No 1 as well
Another enjoyable afternoon reading about the history and gathering the numbers as I went
Did the maths and off to GZ I went
Soon had the cache in hand and enjoyed the view as a large container ship went by
A favorite for the area and history lesson
Thanks Robmc TFTC

Some of the waypoints I had pictures stored away from previous visits a long while ago for another. There were still some others that I needed to visit, and with the missing pieces of the puzzle I was soon chuffing off to my calculated GZ. Some nice views along here, this was an enjoyable experience.
Thanks to Robmc for the cache.

12:57, 12 March 2017, Find #226, Ali and I were out with stainless-steel-rat and gooseandegg from Tassie caching for the day while they are over here for the weekend and we decided to do a few in the Williamstown area (my home town) so local knowledge really helped today.
This was a fun cache in an area that I know well but not having walked around this park I didnt know of these Plaques placed throughout the park but now I thank Robmc for this and the history that I didnt know about.
When we arrived at the GZ we all had a look and Richard found quickly after checking a spot that Andy had already looked and it seems he needs glasses as he missed it..
TFTC SLTNLN great spot.

This multi had us making our way to GZ via the many waypoints double checking our work as we went, in the end at the final I missed the hide and it took the eagle eyes of a Goose to spot the cache.
My caching buddy Goose of GooseandEgg had been badgering me to do a trip to Melbourne for awhile now to just do a caching weekend. Well one Friday afternoon I caved in and we started our plans for weekend caching on the mainland.
With so many caches to choose from we spent a fare bit of time coming up with a shortlist, in the end it was a mix of old caches, puzzles and a bit of a numbers run.
Well all our plans went out the window while we were over for our weekend but due to good caching friends we had a great time doing our plan B.
It was a great weekend and my thanks goes out to all the CO's who have placed the caches we searched for, Goose for talking me into it and our other halves for putting up with our madness.

Beautiful day to tie up some loose caching ends. Lovely little history lesson and lovely GZ. cache in good order. TFTC
I remember looking at the start of this multi on Google, thinking it looked an interesting place. Back in school I thought history was a waste of time, thinking we should be looking forward not back. What did I know? I absolutely love history now and geocaching has certainly opened my eyes up to plenty of it.
We studiously collected the information at each way point (and reading the history of course) as we crisscrossed our way around. At GZ the most obvious place was checked first with a 'not here' from SSR. We widened our search but there really wasn't too many other options. I checked the 'not here' spot a little more thoroughly and just saw the edge of the cache. It was well hidden.
I had a good laugh at SSRs quick field note which read " Andy blind, Richard not so"

TFTC. A great walk learning history as I went. It was a windy day and not too many people around. In all the years I spent in Williamstown I had not explored this park. Before my father started building boats at Point Gellibrand he had a workshop near the RVMYC. This was called Knights Slipway. I used to talk a dinghy out and row out to the old prison hulks that were moored in the bay just off the area were the sea baths used to be. An interesting history. Thanks for bringing back the memories.gcp5wv
Having a few hours to spare I was keen to take advantage of the nice day and head over this way to turn a few caches into smilies. I enjoyed my walk around here learning the history of the area. Things have changed a lot since the 19th century, not least my use of 21st century technology to find a plastic box Thanks Robmc.
Since it was such a lovely day we decided to embark on the walk to gather the required information for this cache.
There were few people about other than another possible cacher and a lady running with her dog.
We enjoyed the views and the chat as we walked as well as the information on the local area in the past. Quite amazing.
Fortunately we must have collected the information correctly as on arrival we were able to make a quick find.
