Grey nomads, we have been on the road since July 2011 and discovered caching in August 2013. We travel with a bunch of travel bugs belonging to our sons and grand children. Now we having to coped with Corona Virus ..... and social distancing, we are finally free to hit the road, even tho in this instance it is only for two weeks.
Today we are camped in the RV camp in town, and using our GPS as our guide, we are touring Nanango.
Two pairs eyes at the twin tree. After a log of prodding and poking with our hiking poles, we came to the conclusion that the cache has been muggled. GRRRRR!

Can not return to Nanango in the near future so it is time for this one to go.

cache all good,

There was no mail there for me or Frank. The hide is a nice little location. Thanks again for another one YOF.
Last cache for the day - I needed lunch and I was supposed to leave for home a bit before now... Luckily this was a relatively quick find. TFTC!
Everyone knows a Frank Brown!! The particular Frank Brown I knew was a RAAF mate of the old mans that use to crash at our home after long nights of drinking sherbets and vino. He affectionately became Uncle Frank. Thanks youngoldfella for some nice memories and a FP for doing so.
On our way south after the QOGM event Blackall, grabbing a few caches on the way. We visited your cache at 4:58 pm Logs signed Coongoola or CG. Thanks for placing this cache youngoldfella
A few caches on my way up to the QOGM 2019 event at Blackall....

Was a surprise at this one. A 1999 calendar of naked women was in here! Have removed it so the kiddies will have to miss out on a nature study lesson this time.

TFTC Thank you for hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity. Thankyou for this cache type.
Not so well stocked as the last letterbox but a quick easy find. No problems with the code. There are a pair of trousers nearby. I wonder who they belong to. Thanks for the cache
Can never find my matches when I really need them. Out on the beat with my last cigar and in desperate need of a light. Lucky I’m near the Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons.
We don't have a stamp of our own and there was no stamp in the cache. We said hello to Frank though. TFTC
This was our last stop in Nanango for a cache because we wanted to drop in on a few wineries before they closed. Having the choice of one more I picked another letterbox.
On the walk in, we must have passed something dead because that feral smell of death and maggots was in the air. Normally you would run past but being connoisseurs of any kind of meat cooking on the BBQ, we needed to identify what roast we were missing out on. Who am I kidding? We held our breaths and ran.
Judging by the amount of rubbish everywhere, this place is a party zone and it is quite amazing the cache has lasted. That little lock must be scaring everybody off. Cool! tftc

Having just found another letterbox in Nanango we thought we’d give this one a go too. Surprisingly this one had a little ‘letter’ in it ‘posted’ by a couple of muggles who found the cache by accident.
All very good here.
Thanks for this cache youngoldfella. Now we must continue our journey to Kilkivan for the new year’s event.

Today myself and my friends set off to Nanango from Brisbane at about 7am. The last and only time I had been here was for the first event in Nanango in 2015. Having already found a few I was excited to collect some more smiles!! Number six:
After visiting the CO’s house we thought we’d better pay Mr. Frank a visit. After a short search we checked the mail and all is good here. TFTC youngoldfella.

On our way from Hervey Bay back to Brisbane we decided to drive through the Hinterland. We stopped in Nanango to have a break and to find this letterbox. After a short time of searching we clould find the box and sign the logbook. TFTC!

I was in Nanango today with some spare time. Four caches were chosen to visit. Luckily there was a break in the weather which provided dry-time. Mail checked and in good condition. Thanks for the cache.

Got to the letterbox ok but now to open it !!!!. with a little thought and help from higher places we soon had the log signed. Thanks again CO.
Having spent a couple of weekends in Nanango hunting a few Hidden Creatures, we had spotted the local markets and made plans to return again to sample the local country fair. After a couple of hours wandering the tents and tables we loaded our goodies into the geomobile and it was time to gather a few more smilies . We parked nearby and after a short stroll into the bush we spotted the mailman's hidey hole and soon had the log book out and signed. TNLNSL TFTC .
A nice sunny winters day for a country walk with geowife Dora the Explorer. Thanks for the cache
Crew 153 and I had big plans to try and get 100 caches in a day today.
However, Crew 153's Ford Falcon had other ideas and brought us to a screeching halt at cache number 50 by blowing its fuel pump.
We were both calm and collected about it. We still got 50 caches. Car got safely towed to Kilcoy. Mr Slow Puncture came and rescued us.. and there are still more than enough caches out there for us to try again. There ends my "cut and paste" part of the log
I wasn't sure what to expect when we pulled up for this one. Crew 153 led the charge and soon found a likely area and a container from within. We soon had access to the beast and was singing the log. I appreciate the bit of effort placed into this one. My 65th letterbox cache! TFTC youngoldfella

Fangsoki and I had picked this area for a day of caching to find caches for the Hidden Creatures Souvenirs and after an early start I finally finished the day with a total of 53 finds when we struck engine trouble and had to abort the mission.
This cache was find number 30 for the day.
We followed a bit of a trail into the bush and then followed the arrow to an easy find. I wondered, at the time, how Fangsoki knew the combination as I had not read the description.

Today's caching hunt was brought to us courtesy of youngoldfella, with his extensive list of caches in and around Nanango. We have had another busy day selecting from the menu on offer and have had a lot of fun.
Apologies for the generic log but that's the way it has to be for us. Each found cache had our name put on its log before it was replaced as it had been found. Thanks, youngoldfella, for the variety of containers and hide types. We only wish we had more time to continue working on your caches.
We were pleased that Frank has a letter box and we wrote some letters for him on the paper provided and left it for him to find.

After a 5 minute search in the bush with my cousin Smallwombat, we found franks mail box on tuesday 27/3/18 sorry for late log just became premium member.
The geodaughter and I thought we might just have time to check Frank's mail before we lost light. Once we had made sure there were no extra residents at ome in the hide; we checked the mail and signed the log. We left a little duck behind to take care of the place until someone collects him for his next journey. Tftc youngoldfella
Found it alone with some sandflies but who cares when there is a letterbox in my hot little hands thank for the cache
The hollow here was full of mozzies, middies or some sort of sand fly, what ever are are I disturbed them in a big way forcing them to swarm. I did wonder if they were going to devour me, but I think that I didn't end up with a bite. I like a locked geocache that has a good quality lock, you can normally gain access and they tend not to rust.
Left the Allie TB here to continue travelling
Thanks

On a visit to the South Burnett today for a CITO, add to my list of Qld Oldest caches and find a couple of Letterboxes plus a few other caches. It was dark but I though I'd haves go anyway. Found a safe park and it starts off looking good but I must have missed my entry point and made it harder than necessary but eventually had the Letterbox in my hands. It is the first time I've seen one of those Yale locks but I remembered to code to access and sign the log. All replaced as found and a far easier way out. TFTC
I was out at Nanango today seeking another particular cache when I noticed this letterbox cache come up on my screen and decided I must have a look for it.
When at GZ it did not take too long to find.
Found the code to unlock the cache, sign the log and complete the formalities.
All is good with this cache.

Yay a real letterbox but worried that we may have had company as in the slippery kind but none sighted thank goodness lots of midges and they just love Waz but he dived in and grabbed it out great hints around the area tftc fav pt from us
This cache has hundreds of guardians, the caches home also appears to be the home of hundreds of little flying insects. Cache all but empty, even the stamp wasn't in there. We left a few swag items & Geohubby returned cache to its hiding spot. Tftc youngoldfella xo
As we drove by today, we were unsure about our approach, and so i just dove right in. A little bit of faffing around and some wide circles eventually brought me to reading the hint and a quick find soon entailed. Didn't notice a stamp or postcard to be sent, an' thankfull it was too, as i discovered i was postcardless upon arrival. Oh well, thanks for showing us where frank lives!
Our first letterbox! Loved the hide. These trees really are twins. What’s with all the tree clearing. Mr Geo thought it may be something to do with the new bypass. If so letterbox in danger. Kutgw
Tree clearing nothing to do with the by pass. We will not see this happen. Was marked out in 1986 and not in the 10 year plan . So not happening before 2028 at least if ever. Tree clearing is for Stage 3 of the nearby housing estate that was first started in 1986 then all came to a crashing halt. Stage three just approved yet again.
Stamp missing. Used ours. Pleasantly surprised at the number of caches here at Nanango. thanks
Decided to spend a few days camping in Nanango with my geodog Scruffy, so we just had to go out and find some of the caches hidden in this beautiful part of QLD.
Lifted out the box and must have disturbed a 'nest' of mosquito's .. so soon had it open and added my stamp to the log.
All Good .. TFTC ..

Parked as close as I could and made my way to the neat cache site. Gotta love a letterbox cache. Thanks for this cache, youngoldfella! It gets a favourite point from me because there was no snake hiding in with it!
We decided to spend our long weekend in Kingaroy and Nanango doing some Geocaching. This was a quick find for us. We were a bit worried about snakes but soldiered on anyway. There isn't a stamp in the container. TFTC
I always love a great letterbox and this one didn't disappoint, I even got to pick up a trackable to come on some caching adventures with me. Well worth a fave, TFTL youngoldfella

Today looked like a good day for a drive.
Up early, sun shining & all good to go, we decided a trip out Nanango way would fit the bill nicely!
A short stroll & a bit of a fidget soon had the log in hand.
I think I might have dropped a favourite point somewhere here?
Made our mark & replaced as found.

In Nanango for a day or so geocaching with Selva Girls. There were quite a few green dots [^] we wanted to turn into yellow smileys.
Nice variety today in our attempt to find 50 in a day . Getting close to the end of the day. Quick find.
Log signed & replaced again. Found at 4pm on 26th March 2017. TFTC, youngoldfella

Travelling around Australia and now super excited to be finally starting our trek to the Easter Geocaching Event at Alice Springs.
Staying longer than initially planned in Nanago as the GeoCruiser is at the Toyota Doctors.
Today we headed out on the GeoBikes to explore the area. Managed to find a good number of quality caches both GC and GCA. Thanks for highlighting so many great spots in your Town.
Was onto this one after the previous letterbox. There is no longer a stamp in this cache.

We are heading toward a milestone event, so we decided to set ourselves a challenge to achieve a few milestones all at once. To manage this however, we have found ourselves on a roadtrip which would provide us with an abundance of caches ... perfect for our requirements.
Fortunately, all the caches we found today seemed to be pretty straight forward and we managed to add our name to the log book without any difficulty.
Thank you youngoldfella for having placed the series and maintaining it for everyone to enjoy

Passing through Nanango, but not without visiting a few caches and having some great pie for lunch! Got the local inside knowledge about how to approach this one and made a quick dash into the trees to grab the cache - already had the trick to open the cache sorted so was just a matter of signing the log and then taking big steps back to the car to avoid the snakes (I know big steps dont help really, but as a Kiwi, I am paranoid about long grass and creepy crawlies!!) Fav point awarded for this great letterbox cache. TFTC!
Yay a letter cache box cache that is a letterbox and does have a twist to the opening. Nice find easy open. I wonder does/did Frank Brown ever live in this street or how did it get its name. TFTC
Decided to go for a drive today with the GeoWife and clean up a few green icons along the way. Plenty of fun finds and great caches. Thank you for placing the caches to be found. Tftc
This cache is nicely hidden away and I was happy there were no guardians with it today. Made the find, was able to open the letterbox and left my note for Frank. We are sure he is enjoying his many visitors. Thanks for this youngoldfella. Do love a letterbox cache. Unfortunately I haven't brought my stamp with me. Next time! Cheers!
After spending the last few weeks settling in to my new abode and being domestic and stuff like that. Decided that I had to get back to doing what I like best Geo Caching. So I set out on a mini road trip to explore my new surrounds and hopefully pick a few caches along the way. Thanks for bringing me here
Booyah Found it!

# 1173 - In Nanango with IolantheK this weekend for youngoldfella's 1st event. We 'need' to pick up a few caches today. Not interested in markets anymore we make an early start.
At around this time we met up with powellbruce who was happy to come for the ride to the next few caches. We visited Frank Brown (three times!) and his mail box. All of them were reasonably easy finds.

There was a very bizarre "WHO" noise coming from this location... or someone blowing into a glass bottle.

Saturday. Slow Puncture took off early to fuel up Blue Thunder for our excellent day out at Youngoldfella's "Nanango's First Event" event. We had a hassle-free drive from Burpengary to Nanango, particularly enjoying the part of the trip from Blackbutt onwards, as we had not been past there in a long time.
Please pardon our generic log, but this is the only way we will ever get them recorded This cache, like all of the ones one our trip, was found in good order, and with lots of recent logs from cachers well known to us!
Addition: Ooooh! We needed a different cache type for Fangsoki's "Can you spell December..." challenge! This was an unexpected bonus
This was the 33rd of 36 caches found on this trip.
Thanks [Blue]youngoldfella[/Blue], for showing us this place.

Found this morning while in Nanango for the Nanango event. Needing an cache for the December challenge cache that was neither a traditional, multi or puzzle, this one would make a good start. Thanks for a great cache, all in order!
Today was my first ever visit to the historic Burnett region, heading to lovely Nanango for the first event held there. Of course, there were plenty of caches to be found along the way .
Bumped in to IolantheK and friends while just as I pulled in, and and stopped for a chat . Quick find here, paid a visit to Frank.
This cache adds to our total of 1966 smilies. Thanks youngoldfella for showing us this spot.

Today was Nanangos first event. Originally not being able to attend due to work commitments I was very disappointed that I would be missing out on all of the fun. Last minute I was able to organise a swap! So we hit the road early with ZoolandR and MinkosDes and picked up FairyMother along the way. What a great day it was!
Whoohoo! Another Letterbox!! We heard Owls and Bullfrogs on the way to the cache! Found, opened, signed, swapped, admired, replaced. We crept out but must have disturbed the owl because it stopped hooting.

What a lovely town Nanango is and it did not take long for us to head out and get some of the many caches around the area done. Great to catch up with a few familiar faces as well. Nice hide. Thanks to youngoldfella for its placement and adding to our enjoyment of this location.
