We did some research and found that there is a mosque in Cardiff S Wales UK. Unfortunately this is not it.
This used to be used as a mosque but it has been converted and now has a number of offices for private companies. We assume this is because another mosque has been built in Cardiff. We were looking for the new mosque but my husband remembered this building and we decided to photograph this instead.

This Mosque, in St Albans, Hertfordshire, is a converted house. In fact, in Hertfordshire there is only one purpose built mosque, located in Watford.
Photographed at 16:16. It was dark but the street lights were on. My daughter Mary came with me for this one - despite the cold, squally weather. This mosque is located on the South Circular Road, Dublin. The building was originally a Catholic Church and the ornate building across the street was originally a Jewish Synagogue - now used as offices.

Located in Tulsa,OK. One of only two Mosques in town. The Mosques was closed otday and a sign posted said no trespassing. TFTC
Looked up on www.salaam.co.uk where the nearest mosque was and it listed So I set off to find and photograph it this afternoon. When I got there it was not exactly what I was expecting - but a mosque is a mosque!
Found the "Yunus Emre Camii" in Utrechter Straße 33, Berlin-Wedding, Germany.
It belongs to the DIYANET ISLERI TÃœRK ISLAM BIRLIGI (DITIB),
which means: "Turkish Islamic Union of the Institution for Religion".
As far as I understand it is an organisation closely related to the Turkish state, directly linked to the Turkish Ministry of Religous Affairs.
It follows the idea of Islam as a state religion in Turkey.
DITIB has between 600 and 800 Mosques in Germany with about 110,000 members.
This mosque is probably a small one in a former shop.
Therefore the exterior appearance is rather unspectacular.
Thank you for this cache,
best regards from Berlin,
Wolfgang

Here is one which should already have been finished in october 2005. But as it is with erecting buildings, there is almost always a little time slip. So, this is the first and only mosque located in Wolfsburg, Lower Saxony, Germany.
Thanks to deetylong for the cache.

This is not to far from my office. I can’t remember exactly, but I know the building is less than 5 years old, at least in it’s current state.

FYI "Jesper 1" changed his "find" of Stockhom's main mosque to a "posted note", so if there are any Swedes out there looking for a cache to do in the dark, go for it!

I have looked a this mosque for the last 5 months, and it was only a game by Cache-u-nuts that got me looking at locationless.

The Fort Smith Islamic Center is in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Unfortunately, there was nobody on site to get info from. We found it at 1800 S. Albert Pike Rd.
Went on the web to get info & it shows to be at another location & another church at this address. ???? Maybe they traded buidings.

We passed this Mosque in our vacation at the island of Koh Lanta, Thailand. The building is nearly 50 years old but we couldn't get the name of the Mosque because there was nobody to ask for.

Found this one last week... but forgot to bring my camera, so I got the coords. Came back today with my camera, but the batteries were dead. Took batteries out of my GPS and placed them in the camera... they were too weak to operate the camera. Got in car, drove through miles of neighborhoods to finally find a store to buy batteries. Finally got back to take the pics. Ever happen to you?

This mosque, Abu-Bakr, is close to my in-laws house, and I had no idea it was there until it started appearing in the news. The religous leader here has been detained by Feds, for what they are not saying at this time, but the thought in the community at large, of course, is terrorist activities of some sort. The members of the mosque are saying their leader is a peaceful man. Not much to look at from the outside, and no one there on the day I dropped by.

Found the Islamic center of Ahul-Beit tucked away in a quiet residential neighborhood in SE Denver. When I knocked at the door, noone came to answer it, unfortunately.
I was not able to dig up too much information about the mosque. Their website (www.AhlAlBeit-Denver.com) is under construction, and there was no answer when I called the information line. From what I could gather, their leader is Sheikh Ibrahim Kazerooni, and the Center is actively involved in providing educational and cultural services to the community.
Ahlul-Beit refers to the family of the Prophet Mohammed.

The North Watford Mosque was opened on 18 April 2003. It operates a crèche facility for the wider community, play area for young children, regular drop in sessions are held by Hertfordshire police for Muslims and non-Muslims who are not comfortable visiting a police station, an after school club for homework and language classes and is open to all members of the community.
The North Watford Mosque receives no public finance and the mosque committee are proud that funding has been raised by the local Muslim community.

This beautiful example of modern Islamic architecture is in Burnaby, British Columbia. It was built by Bruno Finchi, the same person that built Expo Centre (now Science World) for Vancouver's World's Fair, and encompases many traditional emblems. Written on the front doors, for example, is “None has the right to be worshipped but Allah and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.†These reminders in wood and metal of Islamic belief and Ismaili heritage are built into every feature of the architecture, essentially making the entire building into a profession of faith. One noticable element missing is the minaret. This was deleted from the original design due to the fact that the building was placed in a quiet suburban area. Instead, there are octagon/spiral staircases within the building leading to the roof which emulates the walk a muezzin would take five times a day if there was an actual tower in which to call the azaan.
Unfortunately, I couldn't get many pictures and none close up since it looked like the gates were closed and I didn't want to trespass. The GPS pic was taken at the gate but the doors should be seen in the background.

After submitting an already-logged Mosque (oops!), I went up the escalators in Mid-Levels to find this one. Here's what the "Discover Hong Kong" website has to say about this one:
"Hong Kong's first mosque was opened after the Islamic faith was introduced locally in the early 1850s. Shelley Street Mosque, complete with its green and white minaret, is located in the Mid-Levels and was built in 1915. It still stands on its original site in Central."
Only 1 Mosque left in HK to log!

Manassas Mosque. I was quite suprised when I looked up this local Mosque in Virginia. I was thinking it would be more elaborate, but it is in a small town without many Muslims apparently. It is located in a small strip mall off the beaten path. (all the larger ornate mosques in my area had been logged) TFTC!

This mosque is one of the remaining mosques of an area known as District 6. Originally established as a mixed community of freed slaves, merchants, artisans, labourers and migrants District Six was a vibrant centre with close links to the city and the port. In 1966 during the Apartheid regime, the area was declared a white area under the Group Areas Act, and by 1982 the life of the community was over and over 60 000 people were forcibly removed from the area and their houses flattened by bulldozers. Now, after the abolition of apartheid, the area is starting to grow again.

You would have thought that a place of worship/prayer should be easy to spot and accessible, however when we went in search of the Quwwatul Islam Mosque in Hemel Hempstead, we had a number of issues.
Firstly, the mosque is a converted residential building and we must have driven past it at least four times, before we actually realised where it was. Secondly, the mosque itself is hidden behind big black driveway doors; and it was only when we got out on foot to try and find it, that we spotted a number of muslims coming out of the doors.
We must admit that we did feel rather awkward lurking about outside dressed in black as people started coming out dressed all in white!, so we decided to make it quick and took the best photos we could of the place.
If we manage to get a better photo of the mosque we'll upload them, but for now I'm afraid they are a little vague.
More info on the mosque can be found at: http://www.hemelhempsteadtoday.co.uk/mk4custompages/CustomPage.aspx?PageID=52604

This one was a bit of work. First, it did not look fancy like I expected. Then it was not on the street I calculated, it was around the corner. So I was preparing my printout, handheld, newspaper for the proof of date and then starting to take pictures.
Suddenly the door opend and a dark-eyed, dark-haired person came out and asked me what I am doing here. I tried to explain a little and he got nice, although I don't think, he knew what I was talking about.
I asked him if that was a real mosque and he said: of course! A place does not need to look like a palace if you want to pray. He asked me to cover my head and then I could have a look inside. After a short chat we parted. Nice experience.

This is a very recent addition to our home town of Trowbridge in Wiltshire. It does not show any architectural features normally associated with mosques and as far as we are aware, it was not purpose built. G&C
This is the London Muslim Mosque, in London, Ontario, Canada. As you can see, the photo was taken at night, so the mosque itself was not visible. There were many men coming out at the time that I took the photo, so I didn't want to appear disrespectful with my camera and GPS! The building itself is huge, with several turrets that have green lights at night. They have a website...I believe it is www.londonmuslimmosque.com, but I forgot to write it down after I viewed it.

We noticed a sign to this mosque while driving through Katanning in Western Australia. After following the signs, we arrived to find the place deserted, but the gate was open, so we drove in and took a couple of photos. The sign says (simply) Katanning Mosque. With no one around, we couldn't found out any information about it for the log (sorry).

This mosque is located in Hamilton (pop 100,000) New Zealand. It was built in the late 1990’s to service the local Pakistani Moslems and the growing refugee communities from Somalia, Iraq and Afghanistan. My son is holding our Garmin 60CS - trust this is OK
Not one of the most elaborate Mosques of the World! Exeter in Devon is home to the South West of England's Islamic Centre.
It was established in 1978 through the efforts of local Muslim businessmen and concerned students from the University of Exeter and since it's formation it has grown considerably both in it's physical size and activities.
In 1999 Exeter City Council approved for the construction of a purpose built Mosque but unfortunately funding was a problem and so this has had to be postponed for some time.
The images show the two main buildings of the Mosque, along with an artists impression of the proposed building.
Many thanks, The Hancock Clan

The Al Khalil mosque is located in Woodville North, a suburb of Adelaide. A quick web search brought up this useful link
http://notes.nt.gov.au/lant/hansard/HANSARD8.NSF/0/be08e8c51a504a8d692567150001a007?OpenDocument
that tells us the mosque opened in 1998 and was a gift to the people of Adelaide from a resident, Mr. Fred Shahin.

This is Masjid Negara Malaysia, or the National Mosque of Malaysia. These pictures don't do it justice. It also looks great at night, as various bits of it are lit in bright blue.
I've included three photos: the standard GPSr shot, taken at the sign at the front of the building; a shot from the front of the mosque; and a shot taken from a hill (bukit in Malay) overlooking the mosque.

This mosque is located in the capital city of Australia, Canberra. It is amongst the embassies of many countries and the land across the road is reserved for the future Iranian Embassy.
Brisbane Mosque - Mount Gravatt East, Brisbane Australia.
This one is only in the next suburb to me, so I thought I'd better log it!
Muslim settlers began to enter the Mount Gravatt East area at the end of the 1800s. In 1908 Sam Watson built the Mosque in the Kahn's paddock on Nursery Road. The present mosque, complete with domed roof and minarets, was built in the 1970s with a gift of money from Kuwait.
