TFTC,In the area caching to build my LGA finds count. wazza9 has used Project-GC Challenge Checker to see if they qualified for this challenge and they did.Visited trackables.
Check put a few obvious locations, then thought it look there, yes there it was. I was checking for . Stamped log and replaced left trackable to move on . Thanks to CO Nana Nel fulfills challenge The 50 Souvenir . I have 330 souvenirs today.
Had some time to kill today , so headed over here for a quick find. Thanks to sharkiefan for the fun and the adventure.
I easily qualify for this, parked up and made my way down to GZ, the cache took a bit to find in the long grass but was found and signedOn a week long trip to Melbourne for work and to watch the AFL prelim at the MCG, I decided to drive over and make a bit if a caching trip out of it as well. Stopping to find the odd cache here and there along the way. Thanks for the cache
Another challenge I'm on a roll ??The cache itself was trickier for me than the challenge which, after 15 years of caching I'm glad to say I fulfilled! My favourite being 10/10/10.Thanks sharkiefan
Out with Snips and Co driving them around a few LGAs they were seeking. This is the closest one to where we stopped for lunch and so we both thought a quick visit was in order.I qualify with 120 souvenirs so far.
I qualify with 87 souvenirs.[maplerosenz](https://www.geocaching.com/profile/?u=maplerosenz) has used [Project-GC](https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC5AKTV/5478 "Project-GC Challenge Checker") to see if they qualified for this challenge and they did.TFT Challenge, sharkiefan
I qualify with 313 souvenirs and convinced gastank2 to take a detour on the way to the train station to return to the hotel in the city from the nearby construction site. The walk through the park was lovely and gastank2 was able to locate the container and sign the log. Thanks for the cache!
Didnt trust the dot on the map considering what the hint said. But on closer inspection of some logs, after digging around under trees further afield, it appeared the dot was correct!Qualified for this one ages ago, with now 99 souvenirs under our belt.TFTC
10 March 2024 14:20 TFTC sharkiefan for placing this cache, number 13809 for me.I'm sitting on 279 souvenirs so far, so this was a very appropriate place to stop and sign this one off on the way back to the airport.
On secondment to Melbourne, Australia, combined with short holidays here and there. From day 49/74, I was accompanied by my dear son, geocacher Ruupertti, who travelled from Finland to visit me in Australia and to spend a holiday with me in New Zealand at the end of my secondment. Day 57/74, Monday. Today was a busy working day for both myself and my son, so we only had time for a couple of quick geocaches in the evening. This was the first one. It was a quick find. Thanks for the cache and greetings from Vaasa, Finland! #14,525. Our last day in Australia and the last geocache of our trip. Flying home to New Zealand this afternoon and need to be at the rental car drop off in the next hour.. Been over for the The Great Leap Forward Mega event on 29 Feb and had a really fun trip exploring around Adelaide and back down to Melbourne. And nice meeting you sharkiefan at the Mega in Adelaide. We parked in the sports ground and walked across to this one. The air temps today were exceedingly hot (close to 40 degrees). The hiding spot was not in the most obvious of the likely candidates but the coordinates are very good. Infoferret spotted it while I was checking the adjacent tree. Signed the log and replaced the cache as found. Thanks sharkiefan for hiding the cache here. Here is my log for a similar challenge https://coord.info/GC7WMM1GSEL has used Project-GC to see if they qualified for this challenge and they did.Number of souvenirs: 228 (75 required)Have got some cool souvenirs over the past 10 years. My favourite type are country badges. Have crossed a few borders to cache and get those added to my project gc stats.
barb2e and I are on our way to Ballarat, but couldn't just drive past a challenge cache. I have 206 souvenirs. Screenshot from the first 10 - and yes, I did get all the 31 days of August. TFTC
Found today on the trip to Ballarat with isopeda. Quick stop for a county or 2 but had to fight off the long grass to get to this one. According to ProjectGC barb2e has 154 souvenirs so can log this one today. Tftc
I came across this cache while making a list near my route from work to home so I could fill in my caching calendar. As I hadn't cached for so long I wasn't sure I would qualify but I was a keen souvenir earner in the early days so I checked. I was a little surprised that I had 72 souvenirs though not surprised the last had been earned Feb 2020. I kept this in the back of my mind then decided to do it on a day I would earn a souvenir. As my finds crept up I decided to make it find 2000 on a day I'd earn a souvenir. After racing about yesterday I made it to 1999 finds and thus here we are. I left 2 pathtags.. my signature tag and Mahoney's house which commemorates my 1st find and along with it my first 2 souvenirs - Victoria and Australia. TFTC sharkiefan
08:56, 20 December, 2023. #2329.Weve been eyeing this cache off since long before we had enough souvenirs to qualify, so today with a bit of time to kill in the general area we thought it was about time we turned it into a smiley. 180 souvenirs at the time of the find and should be 181 by the time todays logs are written up.The cache is in good condition.TNLNSL. TFTC sharkiefan.
Visiting Melbourne from Port Macquarie.Today we headed from the north-west to the south-east, via Werribee, grabbing caches along the way. Overall, quite the wet, eventful and action packed day. Signed this years ago, but only had 40 odd souvenirs at the time. Must have forgotten about it and only renoticed it today as we happened to be passing through the general area.[huskymaddog](https://www.geocaching.com/profile/?u=huskymaddog) has used [Project-GC](https://project-gc.com/Challenges//5478 "Project-GC Challenge Checker") to see if they qualified for this challenge and they did.Souvenirs required for this challenge: 50Your souvenir count: 117Thanks for the cache
Challenge cache located and signed last month, qualifying log attached...I must say I do like my virtual souvenirs...the most epic one has to be the last one obtained..the Ballarat Geo tour it only took me 4 visits to complete the task and receive my virtual souvenir. Loving my challenges so I must say that the signal challenges are my favourite souvenirs to get. Cache located and signed ..Challenge accepted i have one more to go to qualify. Google maps was up to its epic crap directions today wanting to park me on the FWY f. Thankfully, I knew better and avoided the disaster.
Day 1 of our holiday from Brisbane. We are going to drive along The Great Ocean Road. Today was Tullamarine airport to Anglesea. I can't get every cache, but I wanted to get one from each LGA. This was one of those. The walk to the cache was eventful. Miss 12 tried a cartwheel but didn't allow for the hill. Mr10 decided to minic her fall... work my phone in his hand and therefore so new cracks to remember this cache by! And at Gz, my foot fell between 2 branches concreted by grass like a booby trap. Then i fell - much to the delight of miss 12. Anyway, cache is signed and we have 103 souvenirs. Gained 2 just today - the VIC one and the first one for this month's Wheel of Challenges.
Spontaneous Spring Victorian RoadtripDay Five: Morang to Ballarat via QueenscliffWeather: Perfect for geocaching. This is the closest Ill get to Melbourne on this roadtrip; just inside the Ring Road, which can be heard clearly from GZ. As others have mentioned, the tree has succumbed, but the cache has survived. It might be in trouble though if there is a council clean up. At the time of visiting, I think I have 117 souvenirs. Id have a lot more countries if only Id starting geocaching earlier! I hope to complete the Ballarat Geotour on my way back west, so theres one more. Thanks for the challenge Sharkiefan. Its officially a mega.GCA1DNA The Great Leap ForwardAdelaide, South Australia, February 29, 2024.Wed love to have your company.
I took my dad to the Sunshine hospital yesterday as he decided it was a good idea to cut his hand with a power saw. NOT. So whilst waiting to collect him today I went and found this cache. The tree where the cache is near is no longer upright but the cache can be found easily. I qualify for this challenge having 82 souvenirs. YAY. TFTC.
Great little challenge and one that I qualify for. In the area this afternoon so took a quick wander behind the empty soccer pitches to make the quick find. TFTC.
As we approach our 100th souvenir, it seemed an opportune time to collect the 50 souvenir challenge en route to Ballarat.
A nice little walk, all be it noisy and a little windy along the Merri Creek.
Cache was found in good condition.

Headed away this long weekend with fitzy_1965 for the Great Victorian County hunt. Our mission is to finish off Victoria.
We drove from Queenscliff to home. The last county on our list collected along with a nice mix of virtuals, challenges, ALs and anything else that took our fancy.
All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned. And thanks to all the COs who continue to help us reach our goals.

54 souvenirs as of today. First I found a disintegrating rabbit, which I poked, and then a cache. Thanks to the previous geocachers for leaving a trail in the long grass.
32,066. Found this challenge cache recently with minniek, and now that I'm home and up to date logging (and finishing off all LGAs in Victoria !) I've checked my stats and find I've qualified for this challenge. I actually thought this was 250 originally - oops. I've got 288 as of today.
Thanks sharkiefan !!
Thanks sharkiefan !!
Found with minniek during our Great Victorian County Hunt this long weekend. Our aim is to finish off Victoria - minniek needing 14 and myself 7.
We left Canberra after work on Friday and stayed overnight at a familiar free camp at Oxley Reserve. Saturday night we arrived in Sale and had a great dinner at a local pub followed by a luxury motel room. Yesterday we meandered West ticking off required Counties until we ended up in Queenscliff. We were planning on staying in Geelong overnight but instead stayed in Queenscliff as it was so lovely. Day 4 dawned and we started a loop back via certain caches on our list. This was the next find for the day, and another interesting location. Took a bit of digging around in the long grass but then the container was in hand. Stamped the log, replaced the cache as found, then we then headed off to the next cache on our list.
Thanks sharkiefan !! Will check my stats for this one.

On my way to work this morning I decided to start working on the new souvenir challenge. Grass is long at GZ which means pants are wet... I'll just tell work that I had to help an echidna or something get off the path!!
Thanks for the challenge cache all is good here. Replaced and ready for it's next visitor.

Cache and contents were in good condition.

One from last year in marvellous Melbs I qualify for. Here’s a pic - won’t list the 147 souvenirs I have now that I know about them I usually make an effort to “meet the challenge “! Thanks for yet another fun challenge Sharkiefan Happen to be here to gather a few caches needed in the Brimbank LGA. So yes, on a monster multi mission so just a wee circuitous detour enroute to the NE. Enjoyed a taste of nature and birdsong along the creek.
One of the first Challenge caches that we signed, but thought that we wouldn't get anywhere near this number! Times have changed, and now pushing towards 100.

Found this one at the end of our Ballarat holidays. We had collected a number of new LGAs and this one seemed to be a relatively close one to the freeways in the Brimbank LGA, which we had never cached it. It was also a good stop for a break in the trip.
Parked in the nice car park at the sports oval and took the wrong way to the path. Then Son2 and myself were first onsite and spent too long not finding anything. Eventually the rest of the family arrived and we started looking in the first place in the blackberries and burrs and I found it. Driving home in the car and I'm still getting the burrs out of my hair.
Thanks for the cache Sharkie Fan

I find souvenirs yet another addictive aspect of the game so this challenge was right up my alley. I found the cache and signed the log way back on the 18th of October. It was the first day of what i had planned to be a three day caching trip to Melbourne and surrounds. But poor planning and even poorer weather meant i had to cut the trip short.
Luckily i had managed to find a decent haul of caches in the time i had, including this one. I have been slowly catching up with logging of various cache types from various trips and today i have finally got around to checking my souvenir haul.
Thanks for yet another fun challenge Sharkiefan, i have attached the checker result below.

Greetings! We just earned the Victoria souvenir a few minutes ago as we arrived on the Overland from Adelaide, took a needed walk and found a cache-our first here in Melbourne and Victoria. So excited as we returned to the apartment to run a pocket query and the first cache that appeared was this challenge cache; So excited to go find it and we will before the weekend is over.
Victoria was our 222 souvenir!!! We love collecting them as they take up no space, do not require dusting and give us smiles as we remember where they came from.
We will change the log soon into a smiley face for us both.
TFTC greetings from Jimena de la Frontera Cadiz Spain

I had an extensive search however there was too much long grass to be able to locate the cache today
Ah...the challenge cache, my favourite cache type. .I have been slowly working on this challenge, over the past year. Making sure I get enough caches to qualify for the seasonal promotions. However, at the rate that HQ was releasing souvenirs I figured I would not qualify for while. But after a caching trip to the USA this year I was able to pick up a five more US state souvenirs, bringing me ever so closer. and with the International Geocaching Day and World Record Attempt souvenir, I finally reached the big 5 - 0.
Now I just had to find the cache. So today heading out here to do just that. I definitely struggled to find this one. The coordinates were spot on, but I didn't think the beacon match the hint. So I started reading previous logs, and saw that some people had to check multiple beacons before the cache was found. I then expanded my search to any beacon that matched the hint. However, my search came up empty. I was nervous the tall grass had buried the cache container. With a DNF logged a few days before I was getting nervous I wasn't going to find it.
After exhausting my search, I went back to the original beacon that I assumed couldn't be it and had a more intense search. Once I got the correct angle the cache was finally in hand! Tricky little one.
I love a good challenge cache and enjoyed working on qualifying for the various souvenirs that this one required me to earn. So for that this one earns a favourite point from me. I’ve left my Favourite point pathtag in the cache for the CO. Thanks for the fun and TFTC. Looks like now I need to start working "The 75 Souvenir Challenge," (GC8104F)!

Did not find it! Visited here on the third of September after a nearby walk along the Kororoit Creek trail to find a mystery/challenge cache. We searched without success. The tree which the GPSr lead me to, is a tree no more. It is a crumpled heap of rotting wood. I checked a few other trees also without success. Oh well maybe another day. Anyway thanks for the challenges! oh I do have more tan 50 souvenirs so will have to visit again sometime!
With us recently gaining our 50th souvenir, and being in the area, we decided we could come snag this one today! The overgrown grass certainly made this a challenge but eventually we had the cache in hand.

With over 200 now this was a challenge made easier by thirteen years of caching.
After checking a few trees I spotted the container.

Yeah, I always want one more alright, especially when it is a challenge cache, and dalerious only has himself to blame for my insatiable challenge appetite, as he started this fire and I am sure that he doesn't know how to put it out; nor would he want to .
Thank you sharkiefan for providing the fuel for this fire, and dalerious for providing the match that started it .

Found and signed log with dalerious. On our way back home from caching in Geelong. Grass was plenty high and thick, but my partner didn't let all that weed get in his way .
Thank you sharkiefan for providing and maintaining this cache for us to find. Dalerious well and truly meets the requirements for this challenge, and couldn't work out how he had not signed it way back. I am new to challenge caches, so was not targeting anything until I met him .

Catnap777 wanted "Just one more" on the way home Geelong way after our weekend of fun on the Barwon followed by a visit to the YouYangs this morning.
I guess the weekend wasn't challenging enough, so we stopped by here for just one more.
With our names in the book, I know I get to log this one straight away with 143 souvenirs on my prifile.
TFTC sharkiefan. It was found clean and dry in good condition. [^]

Been working towards this challenge since I signed the log back 12/10/19. After achieving the Reach the Peak - Everest Summit I can finally claim the find.

Today we were on a mission to find caches in 4 final Melbourne LGA’s. We zig zagged our way thru unfamiliar suburbs to find caches on our wishlist. Fortunately Mr De Ja Vu left the path first near gz. Suddenly he jumped backwards. We were hoping it was a lizard, but after a second look this snake was not giving up its sunny spot for 2 geocachers. After all the snakey bushbashing we’ve done in hot conditions over the past couple of weeks, we can’t believe that we almost stood on a snake only 2 steps off the path in the suburbs. Feeling a bit disappointed that we weren’t able to sign the log today, but the snake won today’s challenge.

Checking with Richmond Lad where we have found caches in certain LGAs in Victoria in preparation for our trip next month and noticed I didn't have a find in Brimbank LGA and he did. We as well as pood were caching that day so I think the saying "better late than never" to log a find would suit this log story!!!
Thanks for your understanding sharkiefan.

Been working towards this one and very happy to say, now able to find and log it. Thanks for this cache, I do enjoy ones that one can strive to get...nice challenge!
Having signed this cache earlier in the year, I now have 53 souvenirs under my belt and therefore qualify for this cache.
One of the closest challenges to me is the 100 Souvenir Challenge. Still some work to do for that one!
Thanks Sharkiefan!

Yet another lockdown *(6.0)* but at least 5km travel restriction has been slightly improved.
After enjoying a walk with The Empire we parted ways and I headed for a much needed coffee. I made a stroll in behind all the nearby construction and added my name to the log
I have 200+ souvenirs. This was the last for the day and also adds another souvenir to my tally.
Thanks for the cache sharkiefan. Appreciate your efforts.

The weather today was much better than originally forecast. I had cut my camping trip short so as not to pack up in the rain, only to find blue sky and sunshine.
Stopped by on my way to sign this challenge. I’m 4 souvenirs short.
Thanks sharkiefan for the cache.

Attended the morning tea event that was held in Deer Park this morning.
It was great to catch up with friends that i have not seen for nearly 12 months.
After the event a plan was hatched and i teamed up with ahomburg, beckNmonts and Manfred crocodile to spend the early afternoon finding a few caches around the area.
We eventually parted ways and I was heading off towards Werribee to catch up with some ex work colleagues for tea.
Checked the map and spotted this one and I had no idea how many souvenirs I had obtained over the journey and if in fact I had even qualified for this one.
Checked my profile and in fact I have obtained 65 souvenirs in my travels.
So I found somewhere to park and headed off and soon added my name to the log.
Thanks sharkiefan TFTC.

I was out this side of town for work and once I was done I still had time to stop by here and try this cache. I only started caching after the August souvenirs (2013?) so I always felt a bit behind the pack when collecting souvenirs. But like many similar challenges I've been around long enough now to make the grade. Nice and quiet around here today so I parked up and walked to the cache. It was tucked out of sight but I was in the right spot and after a short search I had the cache in hand. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the challenge and the cache sharkiefan.
Found by caughtatwork at 9:45am.
This is the only geocache within my 5km radius that hasn't been found, so with the restrictions in place and no finds for August this was the perfect morning for a short drive and stroll to GZ.
No problems with finding the geocache and the requirement of 50 souvies should be easily met.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks for this geocache find here as my only geocache find for the month of August in this nightmare year of 2020.

With the pandemic going on, I haven’t been caching for a while. But I was driving along the ring road today, and remembered that I’d signed this in February, knowing I’d be getting some souvenirs soon. With memory lane and some caching in the eye of the storm, I’d gotten the souvenirs I needed! Thanks for placing a challenge cache in the area SharkieFan!

Found on the way home from working in Ravenhall. I haven’t quite reached the 50 Souvenirs requirements, I’m sitting on 46. But with the 29/2 souvenir coming up, as well as CITO season 1, I won’t have too much longer until I get there. Thanks for the challenge caches Sharkiefan, they always push me to cache in a more interesting way!

2020-01-04: Hello 2020
Certainly had to go around the houses to get to this one but a quick find once there.
I saw this on the map on our drive home from an event in ballon yesterday, and thought it amusing because it was one challenge i actually accomplished.
We parked up nearby and went for a short hunt where we both found, signed and rehid.
I have a grand total of seventy two (72) souvenirs. More if some countries were recognised with souvenirs. But oh well.
Thank you sharkiefan for the challenge cache!

11 Jan 2020: Streak Day #317/366 (1 March 2019 - 29 February 2020). A quick detour to here while on my way to my friend's place nearby. Thanks sharkiefan for the Souvenir Challenge. I am qualified for this challenge. Retrieved TB.

Today I headed to the event at Ballan with Smallwombat, stopping at a couple of caches en route, and then grabbing a few more in the area afterwards. This one was on our way home, and I hadn't loaded this area into my GPS. We headed to GZ using smallwombat's phone - it didn't look familiar to me, but because it wasn't in my GPS, I presumed that I had already done it. We checked the log book from front to back, and I wasn't there. It was only when I returned home that I realised why it wasn't in my GPS.
At this point in time, I have 143 souvenirs.
Many thanks to sharkiefan for the cache.

Caching for 6 years now we have slowly built up our souvenir count. We joined up in September and missed the 31 days of August souvenir frenzy but have received every opportunity since.
Thanks sharkiefan for the Souvenir Challenge.

We arrived at GZ to find a beautiful Eastern Blue-tongued Skink! We then found the cache, signed the log book and carried out a TB Exchange. We also qualify for this Found It log as per the proof attached:

Quickly found cache and signed log book while out caching with d@geo. However unable to log at the moment being a few short of the 50.
Thanks sharkiefan

Staying nearby so could not miss the opportunity to grab this cache with mezza74 while others (muggle family) rested after the drive down. Was worried there may be a few people around but apart from a cyclist that passed us on our way to the gz the coast was clear for a quick find.
I qualify with currently 88 souvenirs.
Thanks sharkiefan.

I remember spotting this challenge back when I became aware of them as a distinct type of puzzle.
I recall thinking that it'd be some time before I reached 50. Well, time has passed, 50 has come and gone and although I can't bookend the streak week souvenir with this and your 100 souvenir challenge I can at least kick off the streak week with this cache.
Dropped a TB as well. The location seems to be fairly secure and only fairly committed cachers would go find this one.
Thanks for the fun, sharkiefan.

A couple of months on from signing the log I have attended a mega, cached in a new country and started on he mystery at the museum. As such, I now qualify for this challenge with 54 souvenirs out current tally.
Thanks sharkiefan for placing this Small Mystery - this is find 1398 for BFMC

Finishing off my last LGA today, I thought I would grab this challenge cache whilst I was nearby. A nice walk to a poor dead tree, resulted in a quick find. Thanks for placing the cache sharkiefan.

Just a note from me today, having signed the log this afternoon. Currently stranded on 49 souvenirs, but an upcoming OS trip in a couple of months time will see me over the line when I get the country souvenir for Indonesia. I'll be back for my smiley then
On a geocaching road trip from Brisbane to the Mega in Queanbeyan via a little detour through South Australia and Victoria to snaffle some of their caches along the way.
I like the souvenirs and now bust myself to earn any on offer. I've qualified for this one with 71/50 souvenirs.

I had this one on my radar for awhile but finally got around to signing off on it tonight. The Planetary Pursuit pushed me over the hump, and I'm now up to 63 souvenirs. My first find of the evening on my late-night caching run
I remember being stuck on 40 souvenirs , and then went to USA, gathering many states to get over 50. Thanks for the challenge , I’m up over 116 now,
Today was my last in Victoria before catching the ferry to Tasmania to visit family and friends for a couple of weeks.
Most of the day was spent finding caches in as many of the LGAs in and around Melbourne as I could. I mainly focussed on puzzles and challenge caches, but also grabbed a few traditionals, multis and a letterbox where I could or It worked better.
This was one of the challenge caches that I targeted. I currently have 78 souvenirs and therefore meet the requirements for this challenge.
Thanks sharkiefan for the cache.

In the area for the Christmas events yesterday, so taking the opportunity with omegaman1971 to do some of the local hides, while in the area for the weekend. We only had a few DNF's and made some good discoveries and clever hides during the day. We had some fun and laughs along the way.
So good to finally sign this one off, as have 81 souvenirs since attending the Parkville Mega.
Thanks sharkiefan for placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play.

Day 2 of our visit to Melbourne for the Parkville Mega Event and out and about with geo friends to try and find as many challenge caches as we can. Had no trouble with the hides and most were quick finds for our big group today.
