goodbye

11-Aug-18
Good Day,

This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).

I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.

Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

GeoCrater

Wow, what a blast from the past! I grew up on Eidsvold St during my primary school years, and we went EVERYWHERE on our bikes. We would sometimes come down here and stand under the bridge when the trains went over. Fun times.

Cache was a quick find. Thanks **ShadowNoir** for bringing us here, this find makes Smile #3952. Discover our TB

Definitely a creepy tree.

A few ghost stories could be said with this in the background!

It may not be where you think it is!!

TFTC found pretty quickly.

TFTC good little pet container.... so many places you could hide this one in the tree.

No luck finding this one.

20-Jul-17
There were some not-for-me places, but fortunately it was in a less obvious and less sketchy place. TftC.

10-Apr-17
Giant tree with creepy holes in it. So cool!!

02-Apr-17
Thanks! Found the spot easily but the cache was a bit more hidden!

After nabbing 3 caches prior to this nearby, I headed towards the last cache we were aiming at today. The final cache before I hit the milestone of 300 on my 4th caching anniversary tomorrow. Wow, what a lovely little hidden and secluded spot. We took our time here wandering about and checking out the beautiful old tree. How were those holes created!? However they were created the spiders most definitely were taking advantage of them and building beautiful webs all over. We stopped our search briefly as we heard a train approaching on the nearby tracks. A quick climb up and several "toot toot!"s from Geoson and we headed back towards the GZ. I had a quick read of previous logs and was very glad to get a hint that I wouldn't need to disturb the spiders and instantly had an epiphany about where the cache was. Sure enough moments later the cache was in hand. Just in time to watch as a second train went past as I signed the log.

Cache was in perfect condition and was found on the 29th of March 2017 at 11.40am. It was find #299. TFTC ShadowNoir and have a FP for bringing us here Smile

25/3/17, 12:29 pm Find #659
Heading past this way today, I decided on a detour to grab this cache. Parking the car nearby, I headed on down (without any Bushmans, despite the recent weather conditions Red Face ) and arrived quickly at a very likely location.
Glad I didn't have to put my hand in one particular spot here, that's for sure. Cache found quickly, safely and dry, I signed the log, while slapping away some hungry mozzies, then was again on my way.
Thanks for the cache ShadowNoir.

Out on my own today collecting smilies. This was my first and a nice quick one due to comments from previous finders. Checky little hide. A spooky spot for Halloween! TFTC I am going to bring my geodaughter back to this one.

Definitely a curious little spot tucked away in suburbia. Parked down the road so not to provoke the neighbours and made my way to ground zero. The large tree has seen better days and I began my search in a logical spot. After a peek and a poke, started to gain confidence in delving a bit deeper into the Ent.

Heard leaf rustling nearby and couldn't spy the culprit, either a bush turkey or the curious neighbour. Moving to the other side of the tree, did more exploring before spying the container. Perseverance pays off!!

Thanks for maintaining the cache, ShadowNoir.

26-Sep-16
Beautiful tree. Found with Spyyoshi.
Thanks

26-Sep-16
Great spot did with JaffyG well hidden

22-Sep-16
They certainly are gnarly old relics. Cool little hidey. Thought to myself a few times, "I don't really want to stick my hand in *there*" but eventually turned up with the goods [^]
Thanks. Frewster & Daughters

03-Sep-16
I have stopped here nearly every time i ride past when out MTB riding and hence have lost count of the number of times i had a DNF. The cache has never ever been in the spot where I found it today.

20-Aug-16
Lovely old Ent to make a find. TFTC

17-Aug-16
Looks a lot like what you'd call an ent to me. Didnt find anything inside aside from dry sticks, leaves, and the nagging feeling that something was about to jump out of the darkness and latch onto my face.

10-Aug-16
Very cool little place for a cache. That is an awesome tree too, how could you not put a cache there? Cache was found in excellent condition and signed. Nice use of double containers too. TFTC

2060 - A new month begins and I am on my way home, but before I can get there, I need to find my daily cache. For this month I decided I will target the Ferny Grove area to find a few caches placed here in the last few years since I converted the caches to smiles. I headed into ground zero quietly but after a train went past a nearby dog wouldn't stop barking. I am not convinced it was barking at me, as it seemed to be moving around in it's yard. Anyway it took me about 10 minutes to find this one in the dark as I was convinced it was here I thought it was, which it was, just not in the logical spot, but quite close nearby. I found it in good condition at 7:04pm. Thanks ShadowNoirfor placing the cache here.

Find #1807 at 17:42.

A cool tree in a curious little spot. I kept looking in the obvious (wrong) place until I changed perspective a little and spied it instantly.

It took as long again to extract the log. I had extraction tools back in the car, but with a curious neighbour as I left the car the first time, I didn't feel like going back from them.

Should the cache be attached? There's an unattached tether.

The listed TB is not in the cache, either.

Thanks for the cache, ShadowNoir.

05-Dec-15
Found it! With Capt Buscemi. Thanks for the new container - we had searched in vain for the old one.

05-Dec-15
Found it, finally! Fun find, thanks.

03-Dec-15
We found this geocache traveling from the SunnyCoast to Ipswich, and other cities near Brisbane and Brisbane itself Very Happy
Thanks for this Cache!

25-Nov-15
I visited this site when i first started caching because it is in close proximity to my home.
So glad to see it back in action. Today was the day i was going to make this a smilie.
When i got close to gz there were council workers around the tree. Oh well...come back later then, i shall.
So many pokey holes and areas the cache could be but i wasn't prepared to stick my hand in most places.
Found a stick to poke and prod with and turned up the goods.
Slap a smiley on and add my mark to the log.
Signed and returned at last. Tftc

21-Nov-15
New cache in place

21-Nov-15
Well dopey me, saw an email with this cache and thought it was new! Alas now FTF here but still a fun hide. Just a note for the CO the bison tube has a wire attached looks like it should be hanging somewhere but it's lying down in a snuggly spot so it's still all good!

21-Nov-15
TFTC Nice old tree

17-Nov-15
Sorry guys, have been away. Will attend to this asap

15-Nov-15
Great spot, but a while without a find

DNF!

We've checked a few times now, looks like it's gone.

09-Oct-15
Multiple DNFs since the last real find nearly six months ago, no response to Needs Maintenance over a month ago.

25-Sep-15
We searched all the trees in the area thoroughly, but sadly did not find it

25-Sep-15
We did not find. We looked everywhere.

22-Aug-15
My nemesis cache continues to haunt me, I’ve lost count of the number of times I look for this when riding past. (Maybe a check given the sequence of DNF's)

21-Aug-15
Couldn't find it

Good days caching with Dutchie1950 an IolantheK, but missed this one,

24-Jun-15
A day out with friends always is a good day out, in particular when they are geo-friends. After some very necessary GPS lessons IolantheK took us around the area to turn up a few smileys. We were in further company of Triciac2 and for part of the day of Rhyssa6. Together we must have baffled a few muggles with our antics!

I am sorry (or happy?) to say that this one was our one and only DNF today. Sorry because it was a DNF, happy because it was our only one. Wink

We searched in all possible and impossible places, but who knows, we may have overlooked another possible one...

TFTC ShadowNoir

We looked for ages. Couldnt find it.

02-May-15
Didn't find might have something to do with the heavy rain

26-Apr-15
Cache in good condition- in a perfect location to hide!Didn't pick up TB as I have two already. Didn't sign logbook as I was walking the dogs and didn't have a pen! TFTC Smile

Second time lucky, given the rain we've had this week, I should've worn gum boots lol

21-Jan-15
I didnt have a lot of time to spare after work today. I picked up Ronin Pirate and we headed to this cache. We parked nearby and walked over to GZ. It can be a bit noisy here at times! At GZ, I poked around with a stick and the cache fell from its hiding spot. Log signed and cache returned to its hiding spot

12-Jan-15
Found lots of spiders, 2 golf balls and a chicken but no cache, going to re attempt when it's not raining

11-Jan-15
Lovely old specimens. Plent of places to hide a cache too.Thank you ShadowNoir for placing this cache Big Grin

21-Dec-14
Rolled by on the way home from a little MTB action nearby. Unfortunately with only the GPS I had no clues or previous logs to reference any hints. Red Face

Not found seems to be missing

09-Nov-14
A bright, sunny morning enticed us outdoors before we started a day of scrapbooking, and The Ent was our destination. A bit of reminiscing as we parked and headed for GZ, this park having contained a cache or two in its time. The Ent was obvious, the hiding spot less so - we fanned out and began the search, carefully avoiding the multitudinous webs and peering carefully with the aid of torches into the tree's nether regions. Deciding on a slightly different tack, however, proved fruitful and I managed to unearth the cache with a generous poke, leaving it to dizzyanne to retrieve. We tried to look perfectly innocent as a train rattled past, then replaced the container and headed back for the car, almost avoiding all the prickles. TFTC, ShadowNoir. =^.^=

09-Nov-14
It has been a long time between caches, but I had the opportunity to pop out with La Kedi and DisSister to keep my caching ball ever so slowly rolling. The spiderwebs enticed me to pick up a nearby poking stick, only to be promptly covered in ants. Wasn't long though before La Kedi spotted the hiding spot and left retrieval to me (my spider aversion being a whole lot weaker).

05-Nov-14
Found by Sunshine Toledo and Jinga2 at 1:54pm. The cache was found after searching for a few minutes. The cache is well hidden. TFTC

04-Nov-14
Very good hiding placement was fun and even met a nice old man Smile

05-Oct-14
TFTC ShadowNoir was in the area and managed to grab this one on the way home.

04-Oct-14
Out gathering a few caches today and this was the next one.
Wandered in and decided it was somewhere else.
Went over there and decided it was not there but back where we were at first.
Back to beginning and it was in the first place I looked.
TNLNSL TFTC Thanks ShadowNoir Cool All good with this cache

19-Sep-14
After a great day caching, time for one last find before I had to pick the kids up from school! TFTC!

08-Sep-14
A venture up the northern suburbs to get this one as a find for the day. A short walk from parking the car and a very suspect looking tree. A little circle around and and I spotted a tiny corner of the container. All good here. TFTC ShadowNoir

04-Sep-14
Found this time, I've been here before looking for a cache which had gone missing, hope this one lasts.
The tree certainly has been through a lot, has a lot of character. Thanks for the cache ShadowNoir.
