With Gap (of Fap and Gap) Were here for Geo Toroa (Dunedin Mega). Between flight cancellations and re-routing, things could only get better, right? But wait, theres more! Somewhere on our caching escapades, I dropped my wallet (Tuesday) Its still at large, so if anyone finds itOne of us usually drives, the other is the retriever. That works for us. Weve either logged caches with our separate handles, or weve used FANGS to sign the logbook. Using the latter handle is more for mental health and well being. Its tiring having to write 15 + characters on each logbook Weve joined MDF - Our BoP Teammates. Our goal is to put a few more smilies onto our geomap to the north of Dunedin. This was one of the caches we visited and found successfully. Thanks Big smoke. TFTC.
Down here for the Dunedin Geo Toroa Event from the sunny Bay of Plenty,Tauranga and are with some of Team BoP. Great to get together with our fellow cachers. Signed Logs MDF. (McJandals,Davidson clan & NZ Flossy)I am logging using the Cachly App and using their template option which helps with my memory for logging. I genuinely thank every CO for their time and effort put into these caches. Much appreciated.
Down in Dunedin for the Mega event. Travelling with Davidsonclan and McJandals. Really fun to be out and about with the team and catching up with other cachers friends from everywhere. Thanks to all the organisers and all the COs for some great caches. It is certainly a lovely area of New Zealand TFTC
Down in Dunedin for the Mega this weekend with McJandals and NZFLOSSY. Signed the log sheet MDF Thanks for the cache.
Another quick and easy find in the series...Number acquired, and on to GREEN...Thanks
After lunch we went for a drive to find a few more caches around the Palmerston area. After a couple of DNFs I was relieved to find this one. TFTC, Biggles.
Another fun series we were excited about. Out with busy paws having fun here. Apologies for the cut and paste logs here but we did really enjoy them. Thanks for the cache Big Smoke.
Nice easy find with coconuts3 today. Apologies for the cut and paste logs. We enjoyed the back roads and liked the themed cache containers. TFTC
TFTC, log is destroyed due to water saturation, didn't have our gear with us so couldn't replace, sorry
A first find on the return journey south to finish the set. Quickly found, though log not in a healthy state, almost dissolved when picked up. Added a new page, though will need a new bag. TFTC
Another day doing the caching rounds. Decided to stick a bit closer to where we are staying today and try to clean this area up.
Another quick find for the rainbow series. tftc

On a return roadie up to Oamaru, picking up targetted (and other) caches along the way. Stopped for this one, no real time to do the whole rainbow. Next time! tftc
After an adventure kayaking down the shag river it was time to calm the nerves with a few p and g's ,spending the day in the Palmy area on a bit of a mission

Found a puzzle cache at Labour weekend last year, that requires 3 different cache types to be found in May, starting with M, A and Y (GC5HD8H). Hopefully this is enough as I believe I didnt need another trad.
Obviously missed out on the March and April, but June's should be easy.
Heading up to Oamaru from Invercargill for the long weekend to visit friends and family.
Thanks for the Y.

#17658. With parking a bit dodgy Troodles stayed in the car and I scuttle across the road to look for the cache. Luckily it was a quick find because as I got back into the car another car pulled up behind, wanting to get at the letterbox we were parked next to. TFTC.
After a couple of days in Dunedin, StreetWalkerNZ and I are heading north to Kakanui for a couple of nights. Good to have the time for a bit of caching in Palmerston en route.
I parked in a letterbox driveway by the side of the road, and embarrassingly, the letterbox owner drove up, wanting to check it. Ooops, bad timing on our part. Luckily cache was a quick find. TFTC.

This rainbow series looks interesting so lets give it a go. Yellows log was a sodden mess but we go the info required for the puzzle the replaced the log with RITR paper with the special code. . Cheers. We kept going with this series but hit a brick wall with one cache missing.
Its Anzac Day 25 April and we have an event at Palmerston. So its a day in Palmerston today with a walk up Puketau in the mix.
Its another awesome geoventure to Dunedin, with The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby, Jack, Jill and William all along for the trip. Had a wonderful 10 days exploring Dunedin. It was great catching up with local cachers at several events we attended. Lots of walking and driving, with the odd cycle and wave ride to jazz things up. Thanks to all the COs that made this trip a wonderful success. Even managed to bag some lab caches along with wherigos, earth caches and events, with the usual mix taking us to some amazing places..

The log here was a sodden mess. but I carefully peeled each page apart, ripping them all in the process, they are more fragile than tissue paper. Eventually got the code, then got Taybeedragon to put in a new log. Nice waterproof florist's paper.
Taybeedragon and I have an eleven day Easter weekend in Dunedin. Although, let's face it, given that we are from Blenheim and Picton that means two of those days was spent in travelling. In that time we grabbed a smidge over three hundred caches. Not bad, considering the amount of time spent way out on the back roads, on bicycles or canoeing on the water. A few virtuals, larges, letterboxes, earths, wherigos, and even ten lab caches in the haul. An awesome weekend!

I left Trotters Gorge still wanting a handful more caches, so I thought I'd try out this series. No issues with this one either - cache was a little deeper than expected but I extracted it and the number with no worries at all. Cheers!
Finally glad to get rid of the blue face here. Will do the final with eve07 next time we are in the area.
Today is grabbing some caches to reach my 2500 which I plan to do at the top of Palmerston Hill so with that in mind I needed to grab 12 today before facing the hill and this was one of them. Thanks for bringing us on a different road in giving us a different view of the section of the network. The Muggle friend I had is used to getting request for truck for permits on these roads and could see what they look like, so win-win. Now onto the next one.
A farmer came out of a driveway just as I was pulling up and walked up the road to a trailer on the side of the road up at the corner. Luckily he had his back to me allowing me to sign the log and collect the number. TFTC # 11,455
An easy find and a clear number. A nice series for a wonderfully sunny Saturday afternoon. (May have signed the cache with 24 instead of 25 Nov. I got a little time-confused!) Thanks for placing these caches.
I drove up from Dunedin to to Oamaru today on my way to attend the weekend's Geofest Event. I ventured off the main highway a number of times to explore the country byways. There was of course the odd cache to find along the way as well. All in all a very pleasant trip with some interesting places and great views along the way. Cheers and TFTC

Heading to the Oamaru Geofest so a wee drive around Palmerston to collect a few caches. TFTC
It's been three years since I have cached around Palmerston. - Thanks Bitsprayer
TFTC - Geocaching today with NZ Bozzy - quickly found.
Enjoyed this series of caches. And enjoying the area on a beautiful winters day.

Thanks getter dark. Good thing I have my head torch. Still think it would be easier in the daylight. But that's the fun of caching in the winter.
A quick find while cleaning up some unfound caches in the area this afternoon. Signed log, TFTC
Heading south from Oamaru to Dunedin or rather from cache to cache. The touristy thing of the day were the Moeraki Boulders (and their four caches, of course), touristy but amazing anyway. We even managed to take a lot of photos without any human beings visible. Then we had an absolutely delicious meal at Fleurs Place in Moeraki - thanks to the campground manager in Oamaru for the great advice!
We found 21 caches today, a pretty good score given the time we spent at the beach and at the restaurant
Many thanks to all the owners for their caches and the surprising things and places they showed us!
We made a little detour to collect the coulours of the rainbow. Luckily we could find them all, even the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. A very nice series. TFTC!

Found with Granville86a on a lovely weekend for a caching trip to Palmerston. Thanks for your cache placement
Took a bit to find this one but once I did I realized that they all had numbers in them and I had to go back to the others to get them. I should have realized that it was part of a Mystery being that they are all colors of the rainbow. So off back to the other in the rain to get them. TFTC ? BH&TM
Ah yes, enjoying these different containers. Thank goodness the clue was in a contrasting colour! But this container's not waterproof - logsheet wet.
Enjoying a great trip with tmann421 collecting caches along the way and getting to see some remote locations.
Another good find for us here. TFTC

No worries finding any of these; other than were to leave the car each time. Maybe I should have used a bike
The only one of this series on this road with a fairly safe parking area. Log was damp.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
The plan was hatched a few years ago now and it has been a standing weekend away with a few of us mad keen cachers. This trip was made up of Karma Reprint, Team_Gaters and me (TheWanglers). We couldn't use a previous anagram to sign the logs as one member was in Aussie. So we had to come up with another... Hmm, KiTT? We decided on KiTT but after signing the first few logs something KR mentioned took a while for me to sink in and I didn't really take on board until the next time I signed the log. "Hey, the double 'TT' looks like Pi!". Oh, that's what KR said! So we signed the log this trip as KaTT pronounced 'Kapai'! And the trip was kapai!!! We had an epic weekend starting with a detour to Peel Forrest for a few FTFs, stopped in Omaru, thrashed Dunedin and detoured to Port Charmers for a FTF and then back to Pleasant Point and Peel Forrest to finish off the weekend with more FTFs. We got home to our families at a respectable hour after clocking up just over 1100km!
We had a few milestones we really wanted to crack. My 4000th, TG's 5000th and KR's 10,000th. We cracked my and KR's goal and got really close for TG. It really is about the numbers. This trip was awesome as it has given me some ideas
We were heading back to Chch and stopped by on a few before Oamaru. Quick find
Thanks for the cache.

Show weekend and a Road Trip to Dunedin with 'The Boys'....Karma Reprint & TheWanglers. Initially came up with the acronym KiTT but on seeing the TT looked like a Pi symbol we quickly changed to Ka(Pi) (ie. Kapai)....and a fantastic weekend it was. 3 days, 1100km, a heap of caches and great fun.
Sunday morning and heading back to CHCH...spied this series so decided to give it a bash. Quick find and sign. Cheers.

A quick find, required number collected. Thanks.
Canterbury show weekend and time for our annual road trip to some place with plenty of boxes to find. One player short this year as PurdiePurdie got a better offer over the Tasman, (no not another MEGA).
TheWanglers, Team Gaters and I took off at 4:45am for Dunedin for a weekend of fun frivolity and finds. The plan was to get as many as we could, while still having a good old time, which we managed in abundance. Logs were generally signed kaTT, which actually should read ka pai, but I can not seem to get pi as a symbol.
A great time was had by all.
Thanks to all the CO's for their hides.

Out for a Sunday afternoon cache whilst the boys are at the pool.
Took longer than it should have as I wasn't thorough enough.

Super gutted as we wanted to finish the series! Would love to know if it is still there? We looked and looked around the base of everything we could find
This was actually the cache that brought our attention to the series as we needed Y for another challenge..
+ a yellow marble, - nothing.
