For those wondering who maintains this park on the border here is a photo of the guy, very nice man who knows all about the cache and was able to inform is it is missing.
I'm leaving the new Mrs Mister JD at home while I go to care for my aged Mum in Brisbane for a couple of weeks while my brother visits his grandkids in Sydney. I'm looking forward to seeing
mum but sad to be leaving my wife at home. I'm taking four days for the trip because
I want to find caches, and long trips are way in my past due to my crook back. Caching is ideal as I can stop and start practically as I like. Today's leg is home to Dubbo. I got off to a late start, and found the traffic out of Canberra was horrendous, so I took a back road just out of town, and finished up doing part of a power trail before I got to Yass. I really enjoyed that road, but took too long and found only a few more on the rest of the day. I did stop quite a few times for my back and to give Sophie GeoSchnauzer a bit of a run. Sophie is a bit sad, we have just lost her lifetime companion, Oscar GeoSchnauzer at the ripe old age of fifteen and a half.
This is day 2 of my journey, driving from Dubbo to Tamworth via less traveled ways. We started in Dubbo, collecting caches, fuel and supplies, then headed to Dunedoo, then on to Coolah, Breeza and Carroll. finding caches and a couple of delightful power trails along the way.
Today is day 3 of my trip. Starting in Tamworth, I'm doing some trails and interesting caches around Tamworth, then heading for Stanthorpe. My old Dad used to tell me I wouldn't know what day it was. I never believed him, but now there is evidence. Today, on the 18th April, I signed all my logs with 17th of April. Oh well, he will be having a good chuckle from his perch in heaven ...
Last one today, it's got dark, and I am resting between bout of battling roadworks. Interesting spot
Find no 29 of 29 today. Thanks, gram4380

Took us longer than it should have as directional needle kept taking us in circles.
##Out for a tip around to do some more Holidaying now that the Mega has finished. We are heading down to NSW. It may take a few days to get there, but still going.
Now for the adventure to begin. All was good in these cache , most were an easy find, no problems.
Thanks for these cache you have found the info for and spent time to research, gram4380

Chooo ooo [found] - with Dty73 and aquilus1 on our Dayboro Mega caching holiday! Cool border crossing! Thanks gram4380!
Day 9 of our trip away.
Aquilus1, Tankengine and I left Toowoomba this morning and headed south towards home. Our bed for the night was in Tamworth, so we had a bit of a ways to go.
We mainly aimed for counties, favourites and unusual caches. We weren’t disappointed at all. Such a fun and productive day.
This cache: We couldn’t leave without having a look at the marker here. Such a great spot for a cache to highlight this little bit of history. Tftc gram4380!!!

This is super cool... such an old survey marker. Great stop here on the border, lots to see.
Trip log: Day 9 of the 10 day Easter Queensland Trip with dty73 and Tankengine. As has been the way, covid threw things into doubt but we packed the car and headed off waiting to find the fate of the Dayboro Mega and if QLD would be the destination. On route to the north of NSW to stand by and wait... we got the news it was all go!
Our time coming to an end we left Toowoomba and made our way south, stopping at each county with selected caches along the way. Distracted by many interesting caches and locations as we went for a full and interesting day. Overnight in Tamworth it was dinner at Dragon Palace opposite the Music Hall of fame. The chicken Satay the very best but it was all awesome... best way to end the day!

I stopped at the border on my way back from running an errand in Stanthorpe (we're currently staying in Tenterfield, but start to head west tomorrow in lieu of exposing ourselves to the risks of COVID at Dayboro).
A fairly straightforward find after visiting the station and taking the obligatory photos at the border. Thanks for highlighting this earlier survey mark gram4380.

Day four of our travels - Dubbo to the southern highlands of Qld. A day of roadworks and AL's which offered us history and town tours. We couldn't resist filling in the survey, before leaving the state.
Thanks gram4380 for placing interesting caches on the gameboard.

Hooray I regained my daylight saving hour here!
Which was just as well as the compass was leader me on a merry chase.
I told Muggle Hubby to stop inspecting the rocks as someone had seen a big brown snake near them. Luckily I found the cache, signed the log and were back on the road to Stanthorpe to overnight there, on our way to Dayboro.
Thanks for placing the cache here to increase our history knowledge.

After being in Canberra for 10 days it was time to return home. Last day of the return trip (Home this afternoon) aiming to pick up a few counties for challenges with RoddyC and team benders.
Stopped on our way home.

No border sentry for me. I am home in Queensland. Looked all around. My friend said where it was found before. I went to check and there it was. Signed the log and returned to where I found it. Thanks gram 4380. All good with this cache.
Beadling around the pleasant town of Tenterfield for a few days and grabbed all the nearby caches while enjoying the scenery and taking happy snaps
Awesome location, dropping a FAVE here

Stopped nearby to have a look but were approached straight away by police at the border crossing. Said we were looking at the survey tree but when we realised that gz was a little bit further away right near a parked police car, we opted to abort the search this time....
Even though the Covid border checkpoint was right on top of the CZ we stopped in to look at the Survey tree and see if could ‘surreptitiously’ pretend I was just interested in the nearby war memorial, flowering trees etc., as well.
Idiot!
Police came over and warned me about hanging around there - but not for the reason I would have thought. He advised me not to go looking around the wall and trees as he saw a 2m brown snake go into the wall yesterday - right were I was standing (see photo). Discretion being the better part of valour, we left empty handed.

Having just crossed the border, we took a short walk back to look at this historic tree and survey marker. We decided not to look for the geocache as border control is in full force at the moment and they are set up right at GZ.
We will try again another time.
Thanks

Never knew about the tree marker but that is not where the cache is you must going a little further a field
Quick stop on the way to toowoomba. Have been past this place more times than I can remember and have never seen the tree marker. Found easy enough and duties done and replaced as found. TFTC
After having a fun filled and very hectic time finding caches and catching up with friends at the Queensland Outback Geo Muster 2019 we are now taking a bit more leisurely trip home but also grabbing the occasional cache.
After staying at Robin's Nest last night we were once more on the road heading south.
We must have parked at the wrong ehd of the park for this one as we followed the needle to gz where the cache was found quickly and our name was added to the log. We then thought how did we miss seeing a tree with a marker on it, a quick look around soon showed us where it was and we checked out the interesting marker, the only real sign that you knew you were walking in two states.
We had a smile on our face as we wondered who is responsible for maintaining the park or if the two states just do theri bit to their border and snarl at each other across the imaginery line.

Great place to stop right on the border. Quick find and a good reason to stop and give the kids a quick run around.
Easy find?! I wish! Very difficult without a hint. I had to give up as I was very pressed for time.
Some interesting history here. The tree is certainly looking old. The search for this one took longer than it should have but persistence paid off and the log was signed. TFTC
TFTC Wallangarra turned on winter for us today.great little cache, the geokids loved finding it.
On our way to Hervey Bay to see some whales. It is good to stop and break our journey. Thanks for placing this cache.
We are travelling between Armidale and Warwick with plenty of time to stop for a few caches. Thanks for making our trip enjoyable.
On my way to the gong mega with my Dad Brislions. And I finally have premium to log this cache. TFTC
Cache my way down to Wollongong for the Mega with my son. So far we have had a very good day TFTC Gram4380. #1288

While travelling the New England this was one of the caches we were ablet to find. Thanks to gram4380 for hiding this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
This was the first cache for today as I travel interstate. GPS took me to GZ but was having no luck so I walked away and looked elsewhere. Went back to where I started looking and bingo, it was found. TFTC
How come we’ve not noticed this old tree with its survey blaze before?
Thanks to your cache we’ve now seen it - fantastic!
Found this nice cache no problems. All is good here.
Thanks heaps gram4380 for placing the cache and showing us this place.

Oh well I've crossed the border now and a cache to boot. Found it easy enough but not sure if it is where it should be but I did return it to where I found it. TFTC
Took a bit to find, but did in the end. Our first border crossing on this trip, with a few more to come.

While I am not a surveyor, I am interested in the border and its history so it was good to come to pay homage to one of the original accessible survey markers. Its interesting that the tree is marked with an R and the information sign alluded to it being marked by Roberts, the Qld surveyor. Since both surveyors (Qld and NSW) shared the same initial in their surname, Francis Edward Roberts and Isaiah Rowland, many of Roberts' blazes included the initials FER while Rowland's was just plain R. Now, at one point (station 449 north of Kyogle), the two surveys differ and the men appeared to have separated. Could it be that Roberts just switched to R or was this a Rowland's survey mark. We'll probably never know. I do know that Robert's survey was accepted by both Qld and NSW.
Thank you for providing a cache here. It was good to see the tree. The original starting blaze at Point Danger was destroyed sometime around the turn of the 20th Century.
Thanks for the cache.

Morning planned for geocaching. My amazing Geo-Wife KaleidoscopeCass and I were on the hunt for geocaches. It ended up with us getting home around 10pm in Toowoomba. Thanks for the cache. Signed WT + KC to save space on logs.

Love caches in locations with a piece of history. We enjoyed stopping here and eventually finding the cache. Needs some love to return it to its original spot as it's no longer secured. TFTC
This is an interesting place. Bent low and found the treasure. All good with this one. TFTC
What a nice little spot! Love the little craft shop, it was closed today so I got a chance to have a good look around it. Didn't take too long to have the cache in hand. Love the container! I had a bit of a look at the old survey marker - it's amazing how they mapped the land back in the day. Loved it, thanks gram4380!

TFTC we are on our long journey home, picked up this cache since we stopped for a rest just up the road
Beautiful cache and great historical spot! (Part of the attachment has snapped so may need some maintained - I didn't have any spare cable ties to fix today )
Camping in town overnight so found this one on an afternoon stroll around town.
Easy find although the large dead kangaroo nearby will be a bit high in a couple of days.

Friday. Mrs SP was on her way for a couple of days at Girraween. Driving back up to Stanthorpe, I pulled up to find this cache. It looked very interesting! I must have hit my head twice at least on low branches before I found what I was looking for. The log however, was squished hard right to the bottom of the container and I had the dickens just to try and pull the log out with the plastic bag in tact. It took me about 5 minutes, but finally got there in the end with some tweezers. I checked out the marker tree and admired how old it is. Took quite a few pics as well. Lovely spot for a cache to recognise a bit of history. It was getting quite chilly now though, so continued on my way to get to my abode for the night and put some warmer clothes on
This was the 4th of 5 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***gram4380***, for showing us this place.

We're camped in Tentaville for a couple of days on our way north to Barcaldine for the Event in September and decided to travel out to find some caches whilst we weren't towing the caravan. This was one of our finds even though it took me longer than it should have. We've had a great day in the area thanks to the unexpected visit by the local tourist train. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for us to enjoy. Signed log and replaced it where I found it.
TFTC! If you donor succeed the first time, come in from a different angle and level. Brrrr on a cold winters day, so glad to find this one
Was a treat to see the original survey marker during this handy P&G. Cheers gram4380. Happy caching.
