Found by edmil & maddie @ 11:47 in 12-11-2016. Just going through the geocaching app that is abiut to be retired and found a few logs i have't uploaded. Great walk to the cache after a bit of a late breakfast nearby. Log signed. TFTC.
Heading back from the epic problem solving effort nearby younger UTurned and I decided to do this multi. Quickly got the last wp and headed back to the same place we had been multiple times today. Only to realise the map and the wp don't line up. Another UTurn. We are getting good at this. Another trip along this feature finally had us in the correct place and the younger UTurned found it while I faked a phone call for the muggles benefit.
I'm not sure whether local knowledge might have helped or even whether I should have read the description more closely. Either way, I ended up on the wrong side of a drain and solved the problem by taking a shoe off. Thankfully all good at GZ and I was able to find a place to step back over the drain on debris that didn't even involve removing a shoe again. Thanks for the cache.
A good job we were fortified by a wonderful feed at the Chinese Restaurant before we attempted this multi! Think we walked off most of the lovely food, but we still could not escape those pesky mosquitoes! They took every opportunity to annoy us with their high pitched droning or their nasty biting, even through our clothing. But we digress ... back to the cache hunt. WP1 - simple, WP2 - not nearly so simple and took quite a while to work out where we needed to be. Got there in the end and found the faded yellow sign - did our sums and headed back to the geoCruiser in the opposite direction to GZ. Drove closer to GZ and back to walking again. Success at GZ, stamped log book with our stamp SL at 8pm and retraced our steps to the geoCruiser. #4087 Interesting history of the gas works Thanks stooy.
Well that was certainly an adventure! WP2 is a bit tricky to get to; got there third try. Am quite warmed up now after all that walking. A great little multi and a letterbox too! Cache #2504.
Thanks for the cache. It's taken a while to complete - I got the first set of coords a long time back, but didn't get back to finding the faded yellow sign until today for the final clue.

Found after grabbing a few trads nearby, I called in to this one while heading back towards home. I grabbed the numbers required, did the math and substitution then off to find the letterbox. Thanks Stooy.

#1956 We had time to complete one more cache before our appointment with Marilyn. This was a bit of a mini adventure as we straddled the outside perimeter of the grounds of the olde gas works. A good piece of history, pity it isn't set up for a self guided tour through the site though so you can gain an understanding of how it all worked. Logbook stamped and signed, thanks stooy.
After tackling some more adventurous caches in high and low bridges around Bendigo, Jacko83 and I settled down for some gentler driving-based caches.
I was heading for cache #3000, and wanting a more unusual cache type for the milestone, reckoned a letterbox hybrid was in order. So we stopped at these gas works to investigate the history. It took us a while to work out how to get to GZ, but after some trial and error we eventually made it to the cache.
Thanks for highlighting this 'museum' area in an interesting way, stooy - a FP for the cache and the milestone !

After tackling some higher terrain all morning, it was time for some cruisey around town caches.
Got a bit stuck here with WP2, but followed hint directions, Pacman bashing his way through stated 'Stooy doesn't do easy'.
Came to a nice little spot for a final. I love exploring abandos so this one would be cool to check out.
Cheers and thanks!
Oh - and congrats to Pacman for 3000 on this one!

Late yesterday afternoon we headed to WP1 and collected the information that enabled us to calculate the coordinates for WP2. With the coordinates in hand we did a blocky in an attempt to find access to WP2. It was getting dark and we kept finding ourselves on the wrong side of the water we decided to wait for daylight and do a little research before making a second attempt.
In the clear light of day we decided to follow the advice on the cache page and soon found ourselves at WP2. After admiring the relics nearby and a little head scratching one of us had an ah ha moment, the faded yellow sign flashed and we had the required data.
Off to GZ we went and soon had the cache in hand. Container and contents were in good order. Thanks Stooy for a great caching experience. We enjoyed seeing so many aspects of the old Gas Works and hope that one day the site will be open to the public. We have added a favorite point to this cache.

Really loved this cache! Great brickwork! Getting to point 2 had us wondering for a bit, but got there in the end. Loved the views near final GZ...got some great photos in the setting sun.
Went for a stroll around the lake picking up some caches along the way. This one had us going back and forth a bit but never the less an interesting journey and an easy find in the end. TNLN TFTC
Another sunny day in Bendigo and after calculating WP1 we set off for this point to gather details for GZ - all quiet - apart from a couple of dogs who took exception to us passing nearby! Found the cache and signed the log. TFTC
A nice little cache with only a short walk to true location, good to have a look in on the Gas Works too, what an interesting place. We saw a fox cub on the way to WP1. Found it much easier to walk up the creek itself thanks to all the vegetation around the sides, good shoes were a great help here. TFTC!
SanguineDragonflye and I went on a walk through Bendigo in what is fast becoming a yearly ritual. Our first stop was here; though we found the first waypoint with ease, the second waypoint was approached with some scepticism. However, we found what we needed and thereafter spotted the cache quite quickly. A good hide with a nice trick, cheers!
I found the coordinates for WP2 easily enough yesterday with my 3yo daughter, but after a short walk along the path around Lake Weeroona it soon became obvious that we were on the wrong side of the creek. Nevertheless I looked and looked for anything resembling a faded yellow sign in the distance, hoping that the 30x zoom in my camera may give me what I need; but alas, no yellow sign was to be seen and it was too difficult to cross the creek for a better search with my 3yo. So returning here alone after work this evening, I started off on the right side of the creek and soon found what I needed at WP2. From there it was a quick find at GZ. This was also my fourth find today which included a traditional cache, a puzzle (mystery) cache, a multi-cache and a letterbox hybrid - probably a common occurrence for many, but a first for me! Thanks for my third letterbox hybrid today stooy!
Found at 1.35pm. I took the dog for a walk and thought I'd get this one off my list. It's an interesting area, and now I know how to tour the inside if I want to trespass. Spot on coords and easy find. Tftc Stooy.
Reperio at 0800.
After the night was spent sleeping in the car due to rupturing my pec major tendon, I had some time to spare before my appointment at the hospital, so figured I would pay a visit to this one. The morning was perfect for a walk, and soon followed my way around to GZ to where the cache was found. Heading back to the car, I came across a turtle doing it hard. A nice cache to kick start the day with.
Gratias stooy.

Found today after deciphering part one with the Muggle Husband months ago. Great fun. Was wearing the wrong shoes!!
Cybergran V and I trooped off together to get this one, braving the jungle and the steep cliffs. It was fun to find (finally). One of the WPs was a little obscure but with determination it was eventually spotted. Thanks for the cache stooy. I stamped my log with your joyful stamp and left my trademark indicating I was most certainly there on your log.
I ended up doing this one with a group after the event. Team Crackers and I had visited the first part beforehand so we all trooped off to WP2 where we found ouselves on the wrong side of a flowing stream. One soul managed to fix this and the rest of the venture depended on him and he was up to the task! The cache almost went swimming in translation though, but all was well in the end.
We are behind logging caches after misplacing our caching book.
Out today knocking over a few hides in the local area.
Thanks for the hide,

Found with a bunch of geobuddies following the event to warm up for the Mega in Melbourne. The best bit was seeing geo-hubby sail across the drain in one swift leap, reminiscent of a being who leaps tall buildings! TFTC
How many times have I looked for this, let me count the days. The first time, with Muggle Hubby, we got the information at Waypoint 1, back early last year when I first started geocaching.
On a later visit we wanted to reach Waypoint 2 having ascertained the coordinates, got halfway there but had to turn back as I was unable to walk that far.
On another visit we tried to reach it, again unsuccessfully.
This morning on the way to the event I was actually driven in to Waypoint 2 and, stupid me, did not see the sign, so turned around and headed to the event.
This blue blob on my map has been taunting me long enough, and continued to do so from across the water this afternoon. It has also been taunting o.kay. So, after the event, it was time to convert this blue blob to a smiley.
Armed with the trusty iPad, my letterbox booklet, and my letterbox stamp, and o.kay for an extra pair of eyes, the intrepid adventurers set forth. How did I possibly not see that sign this morning?
With a now complete set of coordinates, conversion occurred very quickly.
Cache found, log stamped and signed, booklet stamped and signed, now two yellow smileys on our maps instead of two blue menacing blobs.

After attending the Pre Mega Event I headed back to my ute, but a short detour was needed for this one. Tackling it by myself I made a little miscalculation so after a revisit back to WP1 I was soon on my way. I knew I was on a winner as I was following a well trodden geotrail, must have been all the activity today. finally I was at GZ and soon had my name in the log.

After leaving the 2 months to the mega event we joined forces with geniejoan, 08151605, Maccamob, Alansee, The Coffees and jtnsilo to try our luck at this one.
WP1 was nice and easy but finding the info at WP2 took longer than expected and when 08151605 found it was not what we expected either.
Once this was done it was off to GZ where again 08151605 located the cache and all we had to do was add our name into the log.
Many thanks stooy for the cache and the information on the cache page.

Found by Mary & David at 1335. Headed off from the Event with a large group. Much laughter with Alansee, Crackers, The Coffees, geniejoan, 08151605 and jtnsilo. Too much talking, so most of us missed Mr geniejoan's mighty leap. Great fun with this one. Our thanks to stooy.
Another group effort find ! while at the " 2 months to the Mega" event at Bendigo

Out and about in Bendigo today with McLookers, ST37E, The Tritonz, Wozzle68, DAB and Na'wal. It was a fun day and the weather played nice which is always a bonus.
We thought we had collected all the necessary information for this one and set off to search at GZ. After many of us looking for sometime we began to doubt our numbers. A quick recheck and the eagle eyed ST37E spotted something very significant that allowed us to recaculate and recheck in a different spot where the prize was found. Thanks again stooy.

I think everyone involved was hanging out for today. This had been planned for weeks. Lets make a day of it in Bendigo was the suggestion [^] Puzzles were solved, coordinates put into GPSr's maps were printed, accommodation was booked. Finally it was here. theTritonz, DAB, wozzle68, ST37E, Mclookers, Glanville Girls and myself were off. We met in Creswick after breakfast was purchased on the road. What a brilliant day out it was. Lots of laughs.
We stopped to grab some supplies after a great morning and pulled up in this area to have some lunch. Plenty of muggles enjoying it here. We wer off and looking for this one. We tripped up on one way point due to us not reading things, doh. We were going to give up until something clicked then we found the inofmation needed. Funny thing is, we starting looking at where the final actually was. We found an empty container with on log. looks to have been there for a few days, full of leaves. We cleaned it out, placed a fresh log in. CO will have to check out for a new stamp. Signed and replaced as new.
[blue]Thanks for this letter box cache hide, stooy [^]

What a fantastic day of geocaching we had in Bendigo today. With an ensemble consisting of McLookers, Glanville Girls, Wozzle68, The_Tritonz, ST37E. Na'wal and yours truly, we had an absolute blast. With a heap of solved puzzles, it was time to do some collecting. It was a mixed bag of caches today. There were tree climbs, bridge climbs, hill climbs, traditionals, multis, a letterbox and even a few night caches to end the day !! [^] The standard of the hides was excellent and the scenery and architecture was fantastic. All of the CO's should be proud of their hides. I can't wait to return for some more caching !! TFTC stooy
After a little bit of an error early on and a re think we at last had this one in hand. TFTC stooy
Spending a huge day in Bendigo with Glanville Girls, McLookers, Nawal, DAB, Wozzle68 and The Tritonz we travelled all over town and visited many caches, this was personally my third visit to this one and although it took us 2 attempts today, we finally managed to find the cache container, it was strewn out in the GZ area so we replaced the log and replaced in the most logical spot after reading previous logs

Well I almost had everyone on a wild goose chase searching in the wrong spot when we realised we did not quite have all of the information. Once we had utilised this, the find was relatively quick. At GZ we found the container but the lid was off and it was empty. We whipped up a makeshift log and popped it in the cache container. A great letterbox Stooy, we enjoyed the hunt.
Caching in Bendigo today with Glanville Girls, ST37E, The Tritonz, wozzle68, DAB and Na'wal, we were so lucky with the weather. Blue skies all day - perfect!

Up in Bendigo today on a group assault with DAB, ST37E, Na'wal, Glanville Girls, Wozzle68 & McLookers with a set plan of DT caches in mind. While enjoying lunch at the nearby lake we attempted this multi, we missed a vital part of information at first but once we realised our mistake we had the cache in no time.
Thanks stooy for showing us this historic site.

Some good coordinates for this cache. We wondered about the best way to get to WP2 and were glad the creek was low. A neat piece of history and always nice completing a letterbox. TFTC
Found at 12:23 PM GAFF1.
An interesting little multi that had us intrigued with the tram question. A 3 digit figure for speed! Gosh - the Bendigo trams must have been rocket propelled
The Peppercorn trees sure do exude their strong peppery aroma when they get wet - and it was wet today!
Thanks stooy.

Today I made a trip to Bendigo to pick up some caches for my D/T grid as well as some challenge caches and the ones that crossed my path.
I noticed this letterbox on the map so I couldn't leave without finding it.
The first wp. was fairly straight forward, I then headed around to Wp. 2 where it took me a minute or two to realise want I was looking at and from there it was a short walk to GZ where I was able to make a quick find.
Thanks to stooy for placing this cache.

8844 and 29th of 36 found today.[font=Verdana] [Green] As usual when away I don't read the cache pages unless something doesn't make sense. So after I'd checked all possible hiding spots there wasn't anything else to do but read the cache page. Hey cool, I've never done a multi Letterbox cache before. Got to test out the next stage function on the Monterra which took a bit to figure out but all good in the end.[/Green]

At the starting point the required dates were soon in hand and the numbers for WP1 calculated. Actually accessing it was a different matter. I made a wrong choice...would my mother be surprised? Retraced my steps and approached from a different starting place with success. With the next number GZ was quickly entered into the phone and off to claim another smiley TFTC stooy
First letter box find. Took a while to find way point 2. Wasnt sure what we were looking for but used our caching detective skills and alas cache was in hand. Nice night for some caching around the lake. Tftc.

Great story and detail for the cache. It was a nice walk around the old gasworks with the added bonus of seeing some old trams. Thanks for another fun cache stooy.
Today's adventure was a trip to Bendigo then on to the CFA training facility south of Daylesford in the morning before returning home. Along the way we chased just a small number of caches.
We're on a mission to increase our stats for some of the less common cache types. This Letterbox has been on our hit list for a few weeks and today we managed to give it a try. WP1 was quick and simple. WP2 was attempted from the south-east end but an obstruction meant we had to give it away and meet friends for a meal.
We returned later in the evening and tried from the north. I found the required info at WP2 then found the cache soon after.
Thank you stooy. We're glad to be able to add another Letterbox cache to our stats. Tomorrow we'll have a look for your Letterbox at Kalimna Point.
#3248th @ 2101hrs.
PS. Most of my logs have been signed as "W+W"

Found with Winniethebear. In Bendigo for a few days away. While on the talking tram tour we saw a letterbox cache which we had never attempted. Getting to WP2 was a little difficult as we came from the north east side, which involved some jumping down and climbing to get back to the car, not sure if this was the best, I think the South West entry to the canal, might be a little longer trek, but easier. Winniethebear played with some ducklings while getting to WP2. Wasn't long before we had the cache in hand. TFTC.
Found with legoman9x. We must have chosen the wrong path to get to wp2 (the shorter path): we had to slide down/jump in order to get onto the path. After stamping the logbook we went back the way we came from and had to climb hills to get back to the car. Thanks for bringing us to this interesting location.

Like some previous finders we took longer to find the sign at WP2 than we should have, perhaps if we had been looking at the sign rather than trying to look behind it, it would have been a much quicker find.
Thanks again stooy

Found with DoorMatt while out and about on this lovely sunny afternoon. We thinks we took the look way round for getting to WP2, but got there in the end and had log at GZ signed in no time. Tftc
Found with georocks101. We were worried our co-ordinates were wrong because of where they were leading us but we found the cache safe and sound. TFTH!
Found with JelenaGreenleaf. This one took a little bit in terms of walking. Also there was some kind of shrubbery conveniently blocking most of the yellow sign ... but after looking at it for more than the cursory glance usually needed, the clue for WP2 was easily found. At GZ, the cache was in the obvious location. TFTC!
Visited Bendigo today and hoped to grab this cache. Not sure how but when I calculated WP2 by subtracting dates on sign from numbers given, it had me behind the gas works, accessible only by walking along the drain/creek. In the end ran out of time and had to leave. Another time...
Good one.
Enjoy walk toward the cache after collect the clues.
Thanks stooy for the hunting and cache.

It was too nice a day to be indoors so we grabbed the bikes and headed down to the lake for a long lunch. Feeling fortified we headed off to the cache and check out one of our own. We found the cache without dramas and as we were leaving managed to find a couple of cachers as well.

With the formalities of Fathers Day completed there was time to look for a cache or two. After a couple of weeks caching where the coordinates started with N & W it was nice to know which direction the shadows fell and which way the water exited the plug hole! We always enjoy caching when there are two rewards on offer - an interesting history lesson and a smilie for the map.

It was a lovely spring day so headed out with PaddyJak to grab a couple of caches. Found eventually, felt like we were on a bit of an adventure! Realised when we got to a second cache that I had lost my pen somewhere along the line so had to retrace our steps and luckily found my pen! It was my favorite! TFTC
Enjoyed the adventure, while waiting for my car to be repaired we thought we might as well fill in some time so Tamzy and I headed off, found signed and replaced but had to return to the scene not long after as Tamzy had lost her favourite Geo pen, yes we found her pen on the return trip also TFTC
Took a little while to find well hidden. Loved the history of this one.

What a great venue for a geocache!
When this one came to our attention last night, and considering our diminishing physical capabilities, we opted it would be prudent to approach a stooy cache in the light of day, even then with some trepidation!
This decision also provided us with a very interesting insight into what goes on behind those red brick walls, it is truly a valuable historic site for this city of ours, you could say a real gas.
Thank you stooy, all points numbers were spot on with us standing at GZ with our receiver reading 1m.
This was also a trip down memory lane for both of us as we well remember traveling regularly on the trams possibly now stored here, and also feeding coins into those gas meters back in the 40's.
Only our second ever letterbox hybrid with all multi points working as intended.
Cheers,
from Romax.
