The cull continues... sad to see this one go as I hid it with Exploder Jr but I never got to put it in the spot I intended and the access was a bit on an issue.

**This Cache:**
While walking to this cache DSD was telling me a little bit about it's history, especially the fact that a spider has been living in the cache for **FOUR** years! Yup, looks like the spider was first mentioned by Boot65 back in 2014, and has been mentioned by many geocachers ever since.
I wasn't too sure about it, but decided to be careful anyway, and no joke, I flicked open the door and **THERE WAS THE SPIDER**! Four years later and it is still living inside the cache location. Absolutely crazy!!!
Thanks for the find Dwarf Exploder, you have obviously built this spider a nice home for it's last 4 years
*see brief outline of entire day below*
---
**The Day**
Two events on the same day on a weekday! I'm sure I can count the number of events I have attended on weekdays on one hand, so to have two of them on the same day was a treat! Made plans with DSD who also had a day off work, and decided to make an entire day out of it, caching for three hours before the first event, and then a further 6 and a half hours between the two!
Was an extremely productive day, picking up **5 FTF's**, **7 Puzzles** , **3 Multi's**, **2 Events**, **Unloved Years**, **A Dozen Pathtags between us** and Traditionals inbetween!
Thanks to all the CO's and everyone who we met up with today!

After teaming up with BobL27 (our driver), AngelG27 and Noikmeister to do the Beautiful View series and the other interspersed caches, I carried on alone to find some other caches. Cache easily found. Nice hide. TFTC.

Challenged by barbed wire and kangaroos, we cautiously found the box, really great spot!
Found with geokids after looking at the hint. Great view lots of Roos looking at us. TFTC
Found with The Matetrix. An easy hike to GZ. Didn't really want to stick me hand in, but you gotta do what ya gotta do. TNLNSL TFTC
Such a great cache container, thanks for putting in the effort. Managed a nice quick find after navigating the prickles! Signed Canberra 945.
While Mrs Big Dad was resting in Canberra hospital, I needed a diversion so spent a few hours caching.
After finding two close by, I backtracked to the summit of this precipitous peak - through vast swathes of 'cactus' too! Unlike the previous finder, I have no fear of spiders. Just as well - a reasonable sized huntsman disapproved of me disturbing it's lair, complete with lots of dead insects housing spider hatchlings...But I will admit I used a stick to remove the webbing and spider before retrieving the cache. I now saw why it needed camouflage, with the original paintwork. But I have found other caches where this paintwork would blend into the environment beautifully.
Once retrieved and signed I replaced the log in an almost web free environment. TFTC and the great story DE and DE Jr.
PS: No spiders were harmed in the claiming of this cache. But I think one was very p'd off!

Nice walk from the last cache near by, passing some big kangaroos up here. I used a stick to retrieve the cache (as I am not the biggest fan of spiders). I didn't see any spiders, but I could have missed them, I usually can't see the caches so a spider wouldn't be hard for me to miss. The webs were really strong, holding the container in its hide quite well, but I was able to pull it out ok. Signed and replaced with a little chill running down my spine. Tftc!!!
p.s. I admit, I did bring some heavy duty work gloves with me too (like all fears "it's just in your mind" and the gloves were "comforting").

Great story and a nice cache hide. I did look for the resident spider i had heard about but didn't seem to be home today. Thanks for the cache!
Had to scale a fence to make my way up here but a quick find at GZ and, as usual, a well-created container. TFTC Dwarf Exploder (& Jr)
Gone to some trouble to house this cache. I did have to fight off a vicious huntsman for the right to sign the logbook. TFTC
Sunday 23 October 2016 - a semi overcast cool Spring afternoon in the high teens in complete contrast to the beautiful sunny morning. Found 8 from 9 caches over 3 hours bike riding and walking approx 8kms. A fun cache. TFTC Dwarf Exploder.
2273 5 of 5 today
It was a beautiful, still, spring-like day. I wasn't actually going to go caching today, but the conditions demanded some outdoor activity. So I headed down south to collect a few likely suspects.
Another well-crafted DE cache. Left a TB.

This was our (Little Miss Walking Chair and myself) very first small find that we could trade with.
We'd found a few micros near the house which prompted us to look further afield, so we headed out to to Point Hut. We had to keep it close to town as we were only operating off the iPhone (couldn't find my GPS)
Whilst the treacherous tales about cacti and spiders did not win her over, we pressed on and after tiptoeing through the cacti, and checking the hint again, a squeal of glee indicated that we'd found it (the squeal was from me!).
The Simpson mini figure was release from the box (exceptional artwork BTW), and Charlie Brown squeezed his way in.
An easy favourite now for being our first "bush" find. Edit - only just realised I need to find some more in order to get another favourite. Oh well - back out there!
Fantastic story behind Mt Sickamickamicka, its now part of our family history too!!

We decided to run/ride a little further than usual today, so we could find some caches that have been on our list for a while. At the last minute we decided to take The Woofer, and she was a champion! Running over 20km in total, we knocked over 21 caches in just under 5 hours. A great day, with some very cool hides!
When people talked about prickles - they weren't kidding! Shorts are not a great idea for this one. Found with no problems, although the aforementioned 8-legged guardian was very unimpressed that we'd disturbed him! Left a Simpsons minifig, took nothing. TFTC!

Despite the climb over the barbed wire fence and the field of thistles and the proliferation of spiders' webs between the trees, I am giving this one a favourite because I appreciate the quality of the cache container. TFTC
A nicely constructed cache - I was admiring the artwork on the cache and oblivious to the huntsman wandering up my arm... Yikes! I politely asked him to get off, which he did. Thanks, Dwarf Exploder and Exploder Jnr for your cache!
A nice way to start what was already emerging as a very hot day.
From Point Hut I made a pretty direct assault on the cache - up the hill through the long grass (slightly nerve-wracking on this hot day, but no slippery snakes to be seen; just a nice shingleback lizard by the path), dodging the blackberries (not too many up here) and not quite dodging the sea of thistles. Some terrific views on the way up.
At GZ the cache was an easy find. Luckily the over sized eight legged cache guardian decamped out the back and didn't need to be wrestled from its cache (why do they like sitting on plastic boxes so much?). The deed was done and it was back through the thistles for a few more caches along the track. TFTC

Cycled down from Pine Island and left my bike at the fence... I couldn't find a gate, but a largish wombat or smallish kangaroo had left an opening for me to crawl through... After that it was a short walk and an easy find. The container looks to have broken its original fastenings, however, it was lying on the ground. I put it back where I assumed it belongs, but it's not stuck there anymore.
Thanks!
Thanks!
First Australian geocaching run after coming back from a school trip in Europe. After getting Captain Gray, we shuffled through the hole in the fence and strolled towards GZ. After a few minutes of dodging weeds, we got to GZ for a very quick find. Cool setup for a cache. Lovely hill to wander around in, with lots of great views. TNLNSL. TFTC DE!
Second find on the Point Hut Stroll. Was surprised by this one as I wouldn't have guessed that it would be that exposed. Loved the craftsmanship to hold the container. Cheers
found it got dressed nice to go to cooma with my real mum and my spare mum makes me climb under a muddy fence lol
Needed to drop the spare daughter off to her real Mum's place so we took the opportunity to grab a few local caches to start the day. Given the weather forecast I was surprised (and pleased) to be fairly warm all day. After finding a ...well...kinda suitable place to cross the fence we made the short sojourn up the hill to this one. Then found a theoretically more suitable place to cross back again but these ended up causing all sorts of bleedyness. So, off to the real-mum's house to gain band aids and debunk spare-non-child before heading off to clear out a number of other local caches.
With a joint milestone attempt looking with BatGirl I find myself 150 caches behind her and so I am clearing out my local area (again).
Last one of the night before picking up DogBoyOz from cubs. Made my way up from Captain Gray through the thistles, blackberry and long grass. I was actually quite happy that it a little wet as it diminished the number of grass seeds in my tracky dacks.
Nice spot at GZ and good effort on the hide.
Thanks DE.

Maintenance run, gave the hiding spot a good clean out (no spiders today) and replaced the container with a newly decorated one. Also dropped some new swag and 3 x TBs.
A great hide, very nice home for the geo-cache, and a great day to top it off. A certain tomato was here today as well☺

8964 and 8th of 8 found today.[font=Verdana] [Green] The last find on a very pleasant afternoon of relaxed caching with Winglen. Always a good experience and well worth the wait... hopefully not as long before our next sojourn. [/Green]
Thanks for the cache [Blue]Dwarf Exploder[/Blue] and the shrubbery. [font=Verdana]

After a nice leisurely afternoon in Tidbinbilla with McPhan, we grabbed two more finds on the way home. An easy detour back from an another find in this area. Thanks Dwarf Exploder.
Hi Exploder Jr! You were right about the prickles! There was also a friend waiting for us in his house. I've attached a photo.
Thank you!
Thank you!
I nearly walked into a spider web on the way to the cache. I was going to have I wrapped around my face if I did not stop centimetres from it. At the cache I left a TB then I noticed a huge huntsman in where the cache was hiding. I carefully placed the cache back.
Lots of creepy crawlers at GZ and skippys too. Love the cache hide. Great idea. Found with graceashmac and geokids. TFTC
This makes No. 5 for us today on our little adventure walk while the sun is out shining. Just hoping the rain holds off for us to make it home. The geokids, geohubby and I loved the way this one was hidden. Had to watch out for the skippys though who must of thought this family is crazy! Found with graceash
Found it, If there is one thing I don't like more than not finding any treasure its finding a spider sitting on the Geocache that's half as your hand. Im so glad that I didn't do this one at night. I left some treasure and the spider behind.
Really like the container. Looks like something has been nesting in it though. Saw lots of big kangaroos! Jumped when a friendly huntsmen came to say hello as I was putting it back!
A nice easy find, I also found lots of animals living inside. Shortly after moving the critters from the container I broke out in a rash that has been painfull and itchy. Found a caterpillar on myself. Not sure if that is because the critters were poisonous caterpillars or I picked it up from the grass afterwards. Anyway TFTC.
I came here expecting a steep hill, but it was a gentle little hill instead. Lots of thistles and blackberries to avoid. The find was made easily, but the cache hide is being lived in by small creatures. Yuk! See photographs. Anyway, the inside of the cache is fine and the log was signed. TFTC Dwarf Exploder and Exploder Jr.
This was a great cache to do for my daily find. We wanted to take a break from preparing our new house in Conder, so we came here to explore around Point Hut.
After a short walk from Point Hut car park, we knew we had to jump the fence to climb the hill to this cache. We diverted off the trail, manoeuvred ourselves over the fence made the 200m walk up the hill. It was drizzling lightly, so the vegetation was quite damp.
The last 100m walk to the cache was through damp, spikey thistles. We trudged through them and finally made it to GZ. After some searching, I found the box fairly quickly. Great container! I opened it up and it was so full that grubs/slugs/caterpillars came spilling out! The cache was covered in them! Disgusting! [xx(]
I signed the logbook and because we were rushing to get back to the car, I totally forgot about the TB in the cache. Assure me, it is still safe in the cache!
Our thanks to Dwarf Exploder!

Appologies to those who have found a wet log book, unfortunately I am out of the country at the moment and I am unable to replace
3734. Time for a stroll up this hill. A nice quick find but a backward step when the rather large, fast, hairy and eight legged cache guardian greeted me.

Another find on my summer cachestravaganza. Woohoo. Container was out of the box on the ground and log was damp. RETURNED to the proper location
Found at 1840. It sounds like you were better kitted out for the stroll than I was - I was carrying neither hat nor water bottle, and my only rations were a small packet of gummi bears that had been kicking around in my caching bag for so long that they'd fused into one solid gelatinous mass. I think I'll be saving that for when I'm really hungry!
I picked my way carefully through the thistle maze; even still a couple made it through the long pants, making me thankful that I've never got into the habit of caching in shorts. I was concentrating so hard on not becoming a pincushion that it took a while for my nose to register that something ahead was an ex-whatever-it-was. I soon spotted the remains and gave them a wide berth - unfortunately that also put me down-wind. Not so much a kangaroo as a kanga-ewww! [xx(]
At GZ I scouted around without success, then extended the search area and headed for a nearby feature - when that also failed to bear fruit I followed the GPSr arrow back to where it thought I should be, changed my perspective slightly and there it was! Certainly not what I was expecting, and a definite favourite for the effort. I signed the log and went to drop off a couple of pathtags, to discover they were still in my luggage from a recent trip to Brisbane - looks like I was even less prepared than I thought I was! [:o)].
Thanks for the cache Dwarf Exploder and Exploder Jr.

A quick vault over the barbed wire and up the hill the cache was quickly spotted and the log retrieved and signed.
It's a great spot you have here, I hope you enjoy many years of natural changes without too much urban encroachment near your GZ.

8793 + 1004 = 9797. Found after attending the Spring Trivia Event.
After dropping Stardust2410 at the latest birthday party (do they ever end ??) I had time to drive and walk up for this one. Parked about 212m from the cache - jumped the fence - and walked through the Brazillion kangaroos up to the cache. A really nice effort on this one - very much enjoyed it !
Thanks Dwarf Exploder !! A Favourite Point !!

Was walking around the lake/pond, was looking for caches nearby..ooh 300m up that hill? Sounds easy enough for me!
Almost walked around the base of most of the hill looking for an easy access point - i hate climbing over barbed wire (as i will indefinitely get caught on it, and rip a giant hole in my pants. EVERY TIME.)
Found a gate, found about 5834386 kangaroos (i'm not exaggerating i swear!) found several wombat holes (dad if your reading this, no wombats), and after a short walk, and a little bit of wondering around, i made my way to GZ.
VERY COOL CONTAINER!! Am impressed!!

Quick visit to drop a TB and check on Pirate Exploder which as reported does seem to have gone missing. Hopefully he'll turn up somewhere in the future.
Managed to park within 210 metres of GZ....and then went for a walk, scattering the many skippy's as I did. Arrived at GZ and had a deja vu moment, but all was good and the cache was soon in hand.
Neat location and neat idea......hope the young fella gets a kick out of seeing how things change over the coming years.
Thanks DW....enjoyed the set-up.

Cool container. Discovered Capricorn TB, retrieved Anabus coin but Pirate Exploder is not in the cache. Left one of my new Pathtags. TFTC DE.
Great cache, Exploders!!! The river was really beautiful today. A mountain walking up hill and lovely veiw too. Favourite from me. Thanks Dwarf Exploder
Great cache, Exploders!!! This is my first cache of my second thousand finds - sounds a long way away when you put it like that ... You're right about the great views, too. I parked in the suburb and walked with the GeoSchnauzers through the fence and up the slight hill. Great container, and top contents as well. I left them there, as I'm not really into swaps. Hmmm, no, the dogs won't fit in the cache!!!.I'm impressed with the cache - favorite from me!!! The river was really beautiful today.
Well there you go - a mountain in the inner ACT that I have not conquered before. With some nice views too! Love the hide - well done. Favourite from me - thanks!
26/8 Just finished doing a Fore! multi up north when this one popped up. Decided to tackle this "mountain" and see if we could earn an FTF. The rain was threatening but held off nicely. Parked nearby, navigated the treacherous swamp towards the entry point and covered the summit track to GZ. We loved the container and it has been attached so nicely to its host . Love your work Dwarf Exploder! Discovered a blank log at 1634 for a *FTF* and loved looking at all the cache bling. We didn't have anything suitable to trade so left the treasure for future finders to admire. We did grab the trackable to move on with us as we love these ones! TFTC and adventure
