With too many amazing places and history to explore in the area, we imposed a 10 dnf. Sadly, this one timed out tftc
Getting too dark and the vegetation around GZ was waist high. Didn't want to disturb any critters so left for when grass dries off and drops down.
Quick find first place I looked on 5/2/23 on a drive around the area

Tricky find this one. I never thought it have seen a cache in this location. Cache and log in good condition. TFTC
I was glad I checked the attributes before spending time on this one. It became a real park+grab.

Up in Parkes for 2 weeks with work. Looking after the factory while the local Manager has a well earned holiday.
Day 2 of my free weekend. Only a short caching day as I spent some time still looking around the town of Parkes.
So I found a small cluster of caches just East of town in Cookamidgera, and decided on going for a look.
GPSr had me in all over the place but i picked a spot n started flatterning the grass around then got in for a look. Took a bit of time but persistance paid off here.

My wife needed to do some work, so I dropped her at Parkes Library, did some clothes washing, grocery shopping, then had time to make the detour for this unusually statted cache

Day 2 of a 7 day trip from Canberra to Bourke, to Narrabri, to Armidale and back to Canberra. The main goal (apart from having a break from working from home) is to collect counties, and see some of NSW I haven't been to before. Cache soon found. TFTC.

There has been a huge amount of rain so the grass is knee deep making it difficult to find anything down low. I had a reasonable look but no prize.
Orange 2020 Day 2. I headed out for a long weekend away with Fitzy1965 & MinnieK to cache between Orange and Dubbo. We explored forests and towns and camped at Macquarie Wood. The weather was great and we managed to visit many more caches than I ever expected. After a leisurely start to the morning we climbed into the car to head to Dubbo, but it took all day to get there via Orange, Manildra, Parks and Tomingly.
Thanks.

fitzy_1965, albida33 & I headed out for a long weekend away. Basing ourselves at Macquarie Woods, we ended up visiting Orange, Parkes, Dubbo and lots of towns inbetween.
Day 2 saw us head out from our campsite and rambling up towards Dubbo.....14 hours later we were back at camp.
Quick find here today.....so surprised to have walked right up and find it.

20,262. Found with minniek and albida33 during a Canberra Day Long Weekend caching meander around the Orange/Parkes/Dubbo regions.
A plan was hatched for the three of us to head up this way for some quality caching over the 3 days. Day 2 and we headed off for further adventures. Next stop of the day - and it was a quick find - which was welcome considering the D/T !
Thanks mooandroo !!

Remarkably I found this one quite quickly which was good on this extra hot day. All did some maintenance as the previous log sheets were full and stuffed in tight. Added a new sheet which should last for a good while.
The hint sounded daunting, but clever/experienced caching eyes soon had the cache in hand! @ziggiau performed some cache maintenance.
TFTC. Nice little spot for a photo. I think the log is full, I couldn’t get a little bit of it out.
[:(!] Thanks for an awesome effort.

Cache No. 5. Out & about with baby&Mrs gopher from The Rock NSW here visiting for a few days in Parkes. Took them out to find some containers. also a bit Maintance was done re-gluing the cord back onto the top of container. Thank you for the cache.
9182. Located by baby&Mrs gopher at 1130 in company with keith58. Maintenance on the tether for the container. Glued back together. (bMgropher with micro and nano logs ). keith58 is a local in Parkes and jumped at the suggestion of a morning out finding containers. SL Tnx mooandroo
With GreyHams we set off on our 3 day NSW caching trip, north up past Dubbo and across to Nyngan before heading back down... and around, to make sure we collected the caches of interest along the way. Counties, oldies, good DT and others of interest, enough to steer us across country and into some interesting and worthy to visit locations.
The sun shining and the sky blue it was a great time to be out through the changing scenery along the way, from the lush green hills to the flat straight outback. Many thanks to all the CO's for their cache placements, we sure found some unexpected locations worthy of visiting as we journeyed through.
Was keen for this DT so made the detour out for it this morning.... GreyHams had this quickly found.

Today was day 2 of the trip Aquilus1 and myself undertook from Canberra... into the heart of deepest darkest NSW. Grabbing as many counties as possible is the name of the game as well as trying to pick up everything old and/or interesting.... if you are reading this its becasue this cache ticked one of those boxes.
The day started in Wellington and finished in Parkes, though we went the long way around. The highlights of today was some amazing caves, the Big Bogan and the dead centre of NSW (including 7 years unlove on a cache there)
Made quick work of this.... DT is great for a gap!

Day 23 Mainland trip
After arriving at the caravan park we headed out to find some caches around Parkes and surrounds with Tassie Trekkers and this was one we found. Had to do a bit of digging as we found the cammon but not the bison. Searched a bit deeper and there it was. Placed together again and rehid.according to hint. TFTC

Heading towards Queensland where the weather is warmer. My way seems to be a rather meandering one as I go from cache to cache. This is a place I had never heard of, let alone visited before today Parked very close and luckily the phone was on target here for a quick find of this imaginative cache TFTC mooandroo
Traveling home via Snowtown, Broken Hill, Cobar, Dubbo, Forbes, West Wyalong & Temora, finding a good variety of cache types and hides. I visited some interesting historical towns and bush locations, which made the round trip well worth the drive.
I did as much maintenance as I could, replacing damaged containers and full or wet logs.
Signed and replaced.
Many thanks for placing this cache, mooandroo, for us and others to find.

Hi there mooandroo.
We found your cache **"The Cook Curse 5"** today. (This makes our find count 19367).
Today wecached around Cookamidgera and then south to Forbes before heading back to our camp at Parkes. Tut the aim of the day was to cache along some roads we haven't traveled on since we became full time grey nomads, so we can draw another line on our map).
We found 15 caches today (DNF'd 6) .We thoroughly enjoyed our cache raid but are disappointed at the number of poorly maintained caches along our route. Thanks for placing the cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.
***Coordinate Accuracy:** We found your cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container is damp.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Nothing
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Been up in the west this weekend for some "work", specifically in Orange & Parkes (from the NSW central coast). Up bright and chirpy to start heading back home... via some caching . After a quick recce during the week I spotted a few caches down here in Cookamidgera with unusual D/T ratings and a fair bit of unloved on them to boot ...so it was a no-brainer to take the detour out here!
This was my first stop and after a brief-ish search I soon woke up to the fact I needed to give this one a little more respect. Maybe it was still til early for me? Anyway it was only then after stepping things up that I was able to make the fairly tough find. Ah so that's what I'm in for this morning?! My coords were spot on for what its worth. Not a lot of room left on the log so I signed it next to pprass. Nice quiet little place to stop and start the day! TFTC, mooandroo.

Found at 1:13 PM GAFF1.
Gosh - we could have bee nhere for ages as the grass is so high and everything was wet. However c-pprass was able to just part away some of the grass and found it straight away [^]
We wonder if that was the type of hide for Cooka Camo 1?
Thanks mooandroo.

Now this one upset me greatly. I assured my wheelchair bound partner that this was the one for him and then found no parking where I could get his chair out of the car, a track along side the road he could not travel on and a cache he could never reach. PLEASE - make this terrain 1.5 and avoid disappointing those who cache in chairs.
I assumed that I would be able to get to this one but it was not to be. Not the first or last cache that has an incorrect terrain rating but it would be nice if the caching guidelines were followed so I knew what to expect. Please change the terrain rating.
Something struck me as odd about the cache name as I rode into GZ !! [:o]
Was I looking for a frying pan that has lost its non-stick coating, a spatula that has a rough edge due to too much heat, or even a blunt knife ?? [:o]
I dismounted the pushbike, and set off in search of a the Cook's Curse
The railway workers were just far enough away not to notice me
And after a short poke around I found that I had not scored a wooden spoon
Rather a cache find and a smilie
