Great hide, got to love a good bush climb through the shrub.TFTC

26-Aug-24
Came at night time didnt find will be back soon.

27-Jun-24
Took about 30 minutes of bush bashing with a lot of spiderweb clearing action. Definitely recommend long pants and boots for this as it's very overgrown. We had a bit of trouble but eventually my little mate spotted the thin rope wrapped and blended around a tree! Swag bag gad a couple things but we added some of our favourite goodies to reward the next poor sucker who thinks this will be a cinch!

19-May-24
I was down the coast with Muggle65 and GreenGecko1. We grab a couple. If wasnt for hint or to we would have miss it. monkey maker thank you for placing and maintaining this cache for enjoyment of the caching community.

19-May-24
My GPS wasn't playing nice today. After increasing my circle, it was finally found 7.5m from GZ. But it is a large, so l was happy to find it and didn't throw my GPS unit against a tree. Thank you for the fun Cache is all nice and dry inside.

19-May-24
Great hide, we arrived at GZ and wandered about and somebody mentioned some detail from the last finder which inspired a thought and the cache was spied retrieved and signed.A Fav Point, a great hide!!!!!!!

15-Mar-24
This geocache was on my priority/bucket list due to its high Favourite Point (FP) count, with 44 FPs as of the time of my visit. We were already driving along the highway side road (Heslop Road) when I suggested that we make an unplanned stop here. Geocache creep was already occurring to our day's travels. Both [gridge98](https://coord.info/PRGKDMY) and I took two separate routes from the road through the bush and met at GZ< although we spent a few minutes wandering around, also wondering why we were having trouble locating this large-sized cache. I started to get a few ideas with this cache type, and after a few more walks, I spotted the cache and subsequent retrieval method.A nicely hidden cache, although the contraption is quite stiff without any mechanical assistance. The last visitor did a good job at securing the rope, and we spent as much time unwravelling that, as we did trying to find it. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks [monkey maker](https://coord.info/PR84CDV) for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. Favourite Point for this unique cache and creative hide method.----------Today, with [gridge98](https://coord.info/PRGKDMY) visiting from Adelaide, we planned to head south to Nerang, attacking a few high tree climbs, and other attractive D-T targets that [gridge98](https://coord.info/PRGKDMY) had on his list.Consequently, we detoured from the M1 and stopped at a few geocaches along the way, and then targeted the tall [A tribute](https://coord.info/GC60RA8) tree climb before the lunch event [Cadence Cuisine](https://coord.info/GCAM6J9). We then continued to geocache around Nerang and walked up to [Nerang Walkabout Nerang State Forest](https://coord.info/GCAJK1V) virtual cache, and then commenced our drive home, detouring via Logan Gardens (fishing TOTT geocaches), and Capalaba (to add Redland City Council LGA to [gridge98](https://coord.info/PRGKDMY)'s statistics).

15-Mar-24
A nicely made cache here which took a bit to spot, the rope was around way too many times but got it undone eventually.Today Davidwazza and I headed south to Nerang for a day out and to find a few targets that we had of our own plus a few others along the way.I headed to Brisbane for a few days with Courtneyrose_ to check out the attractions and to catch up with Davidwazza and Jesswrigley, a nice few days away in QLD finding caches along the way here and there. Thanks for the cache

monkey maker I found your cache Banyula Dr By VI - Whey on 19/12/2023, 9:35am. This is my find 6297 and find # 6 today. Took way longer than it shouldve. Wasnt expecting that. Left TB. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN

Very imaginative hiding place. Very easy to spot, once you know it's there.

04-Nov-23
Definitely deserves a favourite point! Such a fun cache, first time with such a large cache and anything like it. Thanks for the cache

26-Sep-23
Spent a while trying to find it but sadly ran out of daylight area is very overgrown so will wear much more suitable shoes next time

25-Jun-23
What an awesome find, took us a bit too long for what it was, not exactly where the gps shows so
make sure you look AROUND!

30-May-23
This cache was absolutely perfect! Before we went to the rock-pools, had lunch, enjoyed the nature and then did this cache! It stumped us for a while, and then it all clicked. A really amazing cache, thank you! TFTC! ️

10-Apr-23
Maintenance check up today and apart from the abundance of some weedy ground cover, I'm happy to say all is well.
Happy caching.

25-Mar-23
Found this one fairly quickly, first one I’ve seen like this, great cache.

22-Feb-23
This took me an embarrassing long time to figure out (looking down), and with the help of a PAF, I got it immediately. Tftc! And of course, a FP Smile

12-Feb-23
Had a little trouble with this one at first but then spotted something odd - a straight line where there shouldn't be one. Follow the line with my eyes - aha!

TFTC, and have a favourite point as well.

29-Dec-22
Could not find, had several kids with us and the bush was too treacherous. Will try again without younglings

13-Sep-22
Honestly best one to date! Did take us a bit to
Find as we were looking around the ground too. Wasn’t on the gps so make sure to look around… everywhere

Nobody knows why evolution brought Troll
Ducks into being, as a silicon-based wildfowl is too heavy to either fly or swim. It is thought that they sink to the bottom and walk across underground lakes.

07-Feb-22
We stumbled around in the undergrowth for ages thinking it must be under some vines or something before I finally spotted it. Thanks for the cache

Dayboro QLD Mega - Day Four:

The fourth day of our mega road trip with buhfuhguh!

Another 12+ hour day of caching, one of the highlights was finding nine Earthcaches, I am sure that is a daily record for me! Just crazy! A whole bunch of challenges, wherigos, virtuals, letterbox's and Australia's most Eastern cache were also good to grab. A very long but eventful day!

We started in Casino, NSW at 7am and finished up in Bray Park, QLD at 10pm completely buggered! Thanks to all the CO's

---

This Cache:

Parking here was not fun Sad
We failed to find a park on our first drive past, and then pulled up in front of a random gate and had lunch instead to vent our hangry frustration. Decided to try one more time, and did a dodgy park on the side of the road.

Wandered into the thick scrub and started searching. Potentially one of the hardest "Large" sized caches to find! We spent. about 10-15 mintues searching for it, and when we finally spotted it slapped ourselves. Cooridinates didn't lead us to. the exact spot but still shouldn't have missed that!

Did the. required deed to sign the log, and then in reverse. Good fun Smile

Thanks monkey maker for a different cache, and for hiding something large! My favourite cache size! A parking waypoint would make this cache even better!

2 April 2021 1:10 pm

Found during my Mega Roadtrip to the Dayboro Mega with Loci612, with many Earthcaches, Virtuals, larges and LGA's with around 300 finds in total it was a massive trip. Thanks for the cache and being part of the journey.

Got bitten alive by mossies so good idea to bring bug spray! Looked for half an hour and couldn’t find it. A hint would be very helpful!

14-Aug-20
Wow that was fun but a hard one had to ask for some assistance but worth the return trip picked up the TB but there was only 1 there not 2 so I will move said TB onwards

06-Aug-20
I’m surprised that for a cache with so many fave points to only be visited three times in 2020... Despite having a very good idea of what I was looking for I spent a long time Going round in circles as my GPS had me further in... and I left my scout leader at home today...

Left Polarbar Tb to carry on... oh and have another fave point... thanks monkey maker for your effort...

20-May-20
Having a little spurt on caching at the moment and happening to look at my calendar stats to see I had some blank days coming up. So made the effort to make a detour on the way home from work today. Unfortunately was heading north past GZ where there was no good spot to park so had to find a safe spot to turn around and come back. Dodged the illegal dumping by the roadside, people are such grubs, pick my way past the spiders webs to GZ and happened to look in the right direction to make the find. Easy to see how you might miss this on first look. A clever hide, good enough for a favourite point for me. TFTC

My goodness has this place over grown since I placed the cache. It was well and truly stuck so the only thing to do was remove it and replace.Happy to say it's back up and running and ready to go.
Happy hunting and please replace as found

13-Apr-19
Wow, we got eaten alive by mozzies trying to extract and extricate this one. A great concept, however, it didn't work well for us. The cache is stuck, won't go up or down. I think some CO maintenance is required. Sent a message to the CO but haven't gotten a response yet. Thanks for the fun anyway.

Geo teens 14th birthday today.so spending some time on Gold coast staying at grandmas (mum) house as not to far away we had had our eyes on this one for a while.this took way to long from the start. Maybe walking around aimlessly in thongs for 15mins trying to find not best idea. When I finally layed my eyes on it. I called the rest of my family over. Who where looking at a dumped tyer. Now the fun part starts. Got there in the end maybe not best way after geo hubby not long had a operation. The things you will do for a cache. Favorite point. Took tb dropped tb. Tftc

15-Dec-18
Oh my goodness!! That was fun.
Didn’t take too long to find the cache. How to get the logbook was another matter. Finally worked it out but it wasn’t coming ‘voluntarily’. Hmmm. After a little ‘encouragement’ we had it in our hands. That’s very well done. A Fav Point from us for the fun. Dropped off a TB.
Thanks heaps monkey maker.

LOVE THIS ONE! Took some investigation to work out how to get to the log! Well done MM, TFTC!

07-Oct-18
Love it! Heading down South for an event and to collect textbooks from various places this was added to the list for potentials. Got to my next destination far to early so it made it on the to be done pile. Took me a while to spot what I needed to get my hands on the logbook. Fun

2 Oct. 2018 10:52.
With an event to attend at Broadbeach in the afternoon, I spent the day caching my way down there from Brisvegas, nabbing some solved puzzles and anything interesting along the way.

Well that's embarassing, I spent a few minutes looking all over GZ and further out for anything that looks big enough to hold a large container. Didn't look **there** though. Of course it took me another minute to figure out the retrieval system. Loved the concept. Though I've seen several similar before, none as supersized as this one. FP added.

This traditional cache makes find number 5,558. Thanks for placing and maintaining it **monkey maker**.

I have spied this one on previous occasions to and from the coast but never had the opportunity to stop. I was on my own today and thought I would give it a go. A large can't be that hard! Eventually I got what I needed and was able to sign my name. Hmmm it won't go back, one last effort before messaging the CO and phewww! All right back to where it needed to be. A fav point for me. Out for a day of caching with stortigirls. She was on the hunt for caches with high FP for a chellenge, so this one fitted nicely. I parked the geeomobile in what I hoped would be a saffe spot and we bashed our way to GZ. I spotted the cache on approach and, as we had found similar caches before, we began to look around for what we needed. I spotted it and followed it to its end. A vine had grown over part of the mechanism and it took a bit of teamwork to get it to work. Finally, the cache slid within reach and we were able to add our names to the log. With the cache back in place, we headed back tot he geomobile to continue on our way. TFTC

01-Sep-18
Out with Selva Girls today, we saw this cache, and then the favourites, and decided we had to stop. We parked nearby and made our way in, with Selva Girls spotting the container. We had done caches like this before so both looked for what we needed to retrieve it. Selva Girls spotted it first, and with a bit of teamwork we freed up the mechanism and soon had the container in our hands. I dropped a TB to continue its journey and we added our names to the log. At times I have put in a lot of effort to find caches but this one tops them all. I have climbed mountains, scaled polar ice caps, trudged through deserts, swam through pits of leaches, run a gambit of zombies and even dug through a pit of lava with my bare hands. OK, so maybe I have only done one of those things but this cache took more effort and teamwork than all of those things combined.

At first we trundled around GZ looking for the cache and were having a poor time of it. It was only when we expanded our search area and looked back did we lay eyes on the cache. With some investigative deduction we worked out was needed to get our names in the log book.

We set the cache free and as we waited for its grand appearance we couldn't believe it was suffering from a serious case of stage fright. It was stuck and no amount of pulling and prodding would move it. More pulling before we started throwing sticks at it. I grabbed a javelin and tried poking it to perform but it wouldn't move. I started taunting it with inappropriate words but somehow it just wasn't going to play the game and stayed there staring us in the face. There are no amount of verbs that we could use to get it to play the game: pull, push, throw, kick, smack, slap, snap!

Finally we were at crisis point. I started throwing the javelin (not at the cache but the problem area - I would never intentionally harm a cache) hoping to knock it free and with a last ditch attempt the cache ultimately decided to build up the courage to appear but only half-way. Another throw and finally we had the gold in our hands. I was really sweating hard and relieved to have added our name to the log. The cache was returned to its position but it might need some lubrication for the future. tftc

What a fun cache!! This took the kids some detective work to get our hands onto the cache. Great for holiday fun

02-Sep-17
Came out with my Daughter for a quick few local caches this evening. This was number 1 for the night. We parked up , got out of the geomobile and shone our torches in to the darkness. My daughter took some convincing before we set foot off the Tarmac. I charged in 1st with a stick to bat away any dangling animals.
This was the first of its kind that we have ever found. We had fun figuring out how to ' get our hands on it '. We had it figured out in a couple of minutes and the cache was soon in hand.
We took a trackable & left a trackable , before trying to remember which way we came in here as the path was cleared on the way in.
Thanks for the Cache Monkey Maker.

The first time I came here it was getting dark so I couldn't work out how to access the cache. This time it was still well hidden but I found the mechanism and after a bit of manoeuvring I could sign my name on the cache!
Awesome, thanks for placing this cool cache here!

We are back at the Gold Coast for a week, visiting family & time to get away to do some geocaching.
We found a good spot to park the car & then wandered through the bush to GZ. Had a good look around before we spotted what we were looking for, then it was just the matter of how do we get it.
A favouroite point given.
Thanks for placing this cache monkey maker

Heading to airport and caching along the way with Earthlight and 3LG
Michael from 3Lg spotted this one
The question he asked us was how do we get it back up after he had retrieved the cache
After several minutes of seeking the answer from above Linda and I spotted the sign from above

Finally I get another find. My second for the afternoon with 7 dnfs.

I managed to park close and headed in to the location and after searching for a while I spotted the cache and then had to work out how to get to the log. I strained my eyes to work it out but managed to get the right trigger.

There should be more caches like this around. I have probably seen less than 10 in my 7000 finds so it deserves a favourite point.

22-Feb-16
Checked on it today. All is good so I dropped in a TB to continue it's journey.
Happy Caching

Found @ 10:36

Staying with a muggle friend nearby we decided to walk the dogs here. She decided to be dog sitter whilst I went in to tackle the cache. Found without too much trouble, hidden in a location I suspected however the next stage took a little effort on my own. I have to admit, I did not pay attention. cache is back in place however the way I rehid was not in the correct manner. Many apologies!!!!!!

Brilliant cache though and well camoed. Took TB

It has taken me over a year to find all of these "Banyula D B" caches and it looks like I left the best to last.

After a lot of smaller "Drive By" containers I was glad to (eventually) spot the larger container at this one. My eyes were not being too co-operative but I eventually worked out how to get my hands on the log.

Nice one Monkey maker. Thanks for the cache.

13-Dec-15
So cool. Our frustrations at not being able to find a large quickly gave way to sheer amazement as we gaped at this one from afar. Now how to get closer?

A strong hand approach was considered but eventually in unison we made the discovery that allowed us to claim this smiley. Brilliant cache worthy of a favorite. Made a few trades and signed the log before returning everything as found. Tftc!

Thanks MEga G - btw you wrtie much better logs then me!

Captain Terror and I were making our way south to meet up with a couple of friends nearby to grab another geocache when we got a message saying that they were running a few minutes late. Good. We were running a few minutes early which meant we would have time to grab another geocache on the way.

We checked our maps and this one came up through all the various filters the Captain uses. It wasn't too far away and seemed like a great option. We parked the subaru as far off the road as possible and headed in towards GZ. The Captain spotted the container first and then I noticed him looking at it. He walked away to do what needed to be done and I soon had the container in my hands.

We signed our names in the logbook and replaced the container as found. What a great geocache that I would have never noticed without our tardy friends. Thanks for the cache monkey maker.

14-Jun-15
Net88 and I were due to meet at 1100 with friends for a geocache find a bit closer to Tamborine when they messaged us saying they were a few minutes late, and we were a few minutes early. Well, that gives us time for a geocache find en route - bonus! I quickly looked at the map, but just too many to choose from while driving. Then I checked one of the filters the GPSr provides and saw this Large hide waiting, right by the highway. That's the one we're getting!

I parked us alongside the road, as far off it as possible and we tottered in over a discarded pallet, then through many spiderwebs. I wonder why Net made me go first? No geotrail to follow, which was more of a good thing. The GPSr pointed to a likely spot and we looked around for a few moments before I re-read the listing. Then it was quickly spotted. Only a little embarrassing that we didn't spy it immediately.

It was pretty obvious to us how to get at the logbook, so we decided to divide and conquer. Net cracked the mighty beast open and inside was lovely and dry. Logbook signed, replaced and geocache reset as found. I do love the extra effort that has gone into such a handsome hide. A favourite point from me too! TFTC monkey maker Smile

Find #1514

Decided to pay the Goldie a short visit today in the hope of picking up a few friendly smiling faces.
Parked the Geo-beast & headed towards GZ.
Looks like this one will be a reasonably easy ... WTF?
We stood & we looked, we noticed a few props lying around (that weren't necessary) from previous cachers attempts.
Hmmm ... looking, looking, looking ... then the smiles spread across both our faces.
Retrieved the cache, signed the log & replaced all as found.
Very clever monkey! Smile

You picked our pocket for another favourite here! Well done! Smile

Ah monkey maker you've made another great hide! I tend to get the Banyula Dr By's mixed up. I don't want to do the ones behind and close to the guardrails and so this one looked like a good option with the size playing a part and the geocoin in there. I wasn't disappointed. A favourite from me. Thanks MM>
