Much fresh, damp growth at ground level & 12 months unloved combined to defeat me here, even after a PAF to confirm my suspicion about what I was looking for. Off to work with damp shoes & trouser cuffs (again). As Arnie said, i’ll be back....
Great little hide! Thanks for bringing us here. Found with BeardedHill and perricheeseburger. TFTC
Back at it again with Peri and Smashed find 2 for this beautiful day!! Peri was the finder of this one!! Nice hide!!!! TFTC!!!!
Found it. Smashed and bearded had tried before with no luck. Then I walk in and after 10 seconds I'm saying "found it"

After attending a lovely BBQ put on by the Simms family, n0w0rries and I left them and +Wife to seek out a couple of caches hidden nearby to ensure we had 50 finds for the day.
After parking nearby and walking through the underpass I took one way into GZ whilst n0w0rries circled around. As luck would have it mine was the right choice and the cache apparent on approach. An excellently themed cache.

I haven't checked yet but I'm fairly sure we have found more than fifty caches today.
Just in case, we can always squeeze a few more in.
Following on from our BBQ dinner with Eddy Simms and his lovely family, we headed down here for the final three finds of the day.
Loved the container. [^]

Found by Mary & David at 1634. Popped down to Lara after a day at the Werribee Open Range Zoo with our five grandchildren. One find only to keep our streak alive. Happily a nice quick one too. Our thanks to Na'wal.
Well a little ironic here at the moment.
The water level is a little high and part of the path is flooded.
However I was still able to get towards GZ.
Soon after a quick search I was on the hunt and placing a smiley.

After the CITO, Pacman & myself, guided by larafolk walked the short distance to find this second version of rain shadow. There was insufficient water to stop us, plus the blue tongue lizard did not faze us. Thank you Na'wal for the cache.
Wow, I can't believe it's been more than 2 years since I found the first version of the Rain Shadow and still hadn't returned for this newer one! So after the nearby CITO today we headed to GZ with mudbrick, guided by larafolk who had done the cache already.
It was a quick find for us today, and this v2 definitely had a higher pressure than v1 .
Thanks, Na'wal.

On my first day off of the week I have come to Lara to get as many caches as possible. Again this was another cache that I spent too much time looking for. I found the cache laying on the ground barely visible. I cleaned it up as best as I could and propped it up. TFTC
Out for the day with autumntree and the geokids and geodog. Quick find with a couple of lizards and lots of mozzies

Team Autumn out today on the hunt for caches. Saw a few lizards around which was exciting. This one had us wandering around until we spotted something out of place. Then the hint made sense LOL. TFTC.
Hot (I wish - flipping freezing!) on the heels of the last cache, I stumbled across this one in the dark. My torch was starting to fritz out a bit, and I wasn't running back to the car just to fetch another. I think the rubber seal on the cache container may have become compromised - I couldn't check very well. If I pass by in daylight, I'll have another look. Thanks heaps, Na'wal!
Quick find on the drive down to Geelong from Melbourne.
Log is getting to the overfull stage.
Thanks for the cache Na'wal

Found this little cache with Geo-daughter, Posho6. It was such a nice day and we had planned to do a little more caching but thought we'd grab this before heading over to the 'Welcome to Geocaching' event, down the road. Inside the log is quite wet but luckily the waterproof paper is doing its job. Unfortunately the ink isn't being as amicable.
TFTC!!!

Tftc! Had my mini geo hunter with me and loved this find. The log is damp but not damaged
Found while walking the Geo pug in the company of cucumber kid (geo grand daughter) another cache for her to bookmark for another time...

*A well hidden cache*
I was in the area, doing some non-geocaching things and hadn't been caching for a while. This was nearby, so we decided to give it a shot.
Parked the car at the closer parking (we didn't have much time) and after enjoying the lovely walk to GZ, began our search. My GPS was a bit jumpy, but after it settled, it kept coming back to one spot. I had an idea of what the hint meant, but was not positive. After a while, we found the goods and my theory was confirmed.
Thanks Na'wal for a fun cache in a great spot. TFTC
Took: Nothing
Left: Nothing
Cache coordinates took me to about three metres away from where the cache was located. Cache and contents were in good nick.
Well done .

Second time round for this one and it proves how much you learn in caching. This was a simple quick find where as last time we looked for half an hour!
Even though we're still a long way from filling our caching calendar, I couldn't let today pass without finding a cache. Who knows what the future will bring and I certainly didn't want to have to wait until 2020 with the other 365 days ticked off.
I regularly come past here but don't generally carry a writing stick when I'm going for a walk or jog so this was my target today. Having found Rain Shadow I, this cache's predecessor, I had an inkling of what sort of camo I should be looking for. A quick search and I soon had the cache in hand and signed before heading off to work.
Thanks Na'wal

Tftc.love it.awesome cache.good hide. I never knew a person could walk under the Melb road. Thank you for bringing me to this location.
There was plenty of water on the walk here today with the creek overflowing onto the bike path. We kept our eyes open for any cycling Na'wals on our walk to GZ, but no such luck. Tricky spotting a dark container in the shadows but we got there in the end. TFTC
We came here today to find a few caches. Walking along the creek, we were very conscious of the "snakey" season, and we watched carefully where we were going. Around GZ, we did feel that the slithery creatures may well be here and be irritated by our search, which took some 15 minutes. As soon as we discovered the clever hide, we understood the equally clever hint.
We are happy to report that we did not see any dangerous wild life at all, but under one of the bridges we minded our steps to avoid stepping on a mummified rat.
Thank you for bringing us here Na'wal! You are showing us parts of Lara that we did not know.

Filling in a few more smiley faces in our area after the rain has stopped. Didn't understand the hint until after we'd found the cache! We'll be back along this lovely scenic track soon, for a bike ride. Hoping to make it to the bay this time instead of just the swamp. Tftc.
Been driving past many times..
Found park my car and walk toward the cache.
Great path for bicycle and walking.

Found on another caching adventure with Trailrunning, The long weekend meant more time for caching so we headed to Geelong for most of the finds,. Thanks Na'wal for the cache.
Had some time before jobs today so ducked out here quickly. Took a little bit of wandering to find the cache but when I did see it I knew it was it. Signed log then let off some other water pressure in a nearby bush. Tftc today

A nicely done cache, but it was spotted as we approached as it doesn't quite belong. However, kudos to the hider for seeking something other than a box under a bush. Well done.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks for the cache experience here today.

I went for a stroll, under the bridges carrying loads of holiday traffic. I guess it floods under here quite regularly but not today.

Ran out to do this just on dusk to keep our longest streak going after a busy day. Parked the car as close as possible the walk in with the Geowife and 4 geomunchkins. Spotted it reasonably quick in the fading light them realized that we had left the pen in the car. So we brought it back to the car for signing. Only 2 of the geomunchkins walk back to help return the cache by this time the light was gone and needed torch light to find the right location. TFTC
This is the first one we have found with this type of camo. Something different is always good to find. TFTC.
I have long wondered how to get to this cache as I drove past it many times when I was working in Geelong. Now I know. A great little scenic route I know of now, but it can be quite isolated, and keep your eyes peeled for any snakes in hot weather. We didn't see any, but it was a perfect area for them. Bashed around looking for the cache before Mrs Blue Duck spotted it. Great camo, excellent hide. TFTC
I hate snakes, so this one tested my nerve a bit with the terrain. Lucky for us, we didn't see any snakes! But I did get two mosquito bites that I am trying not to itch as I type. I didn't know the bike path was here, so I might have to bring my bike or maybe my fishing rod back here sometime.
Thanks!!
Thanks!!
I was familiar ground after doing Rain Shadow one earlier this year. Need to search around before the cache was found.

My sincerest thanks to all the cache owners for their hides & all the effort gone into them & I'm sorry for the generic log... I have seen many beautiful area's that I would not of seen or experience if not for your hides...

Today was my November caching day out with Biggles Bear. We aimed at the A-Zoo series with a few additional caches before and after. We really enjoyed the series, with its variety of hides and the various creatures along the way. We tried for the previous cache here, but it had been muggled at the time. This is it's replacement and was a nice quick find this time.
My thanks to Na'wal for the cache.

After leaving the very successful Event out at the You yangs i thought i would have a look for this guy who has been sitting on my screen as a Green square for far too long.
Parked on the edge of the highway and carefully made my way through the thick grass finding the shed remains of what I was looking for but today did not come across the real thing thank goodness but I did have my trusty walking stick that is handy if I do meet a tiger ,black or brown.
Spotted the cache fairly quickly and had no problems with gaining entry so with the log signed I was on my way. Thanks Na'wal for placing this cache for us to find.

I have had this one on the radar for ages and finally got to it today. On the way in a walker told me that he had just seen a snake crossing the path! Well, it is warming up. Being careful of where I trod I approached GZ and like others I circumnavigated GZ before looking closer and finding the cache. I was just as careful walking out as well!
Had a caching day all set out, but unfortunately the weather put a damper on that ( all puns intended. ) So just picking up a few local ones in amongst the rain and wind instead.
Bought 2 sets of hiking shoes, ready for our Tassie holiday from the infamous Na'wal today and thought we would give them a test run on one of his caches.
We like how the cache kept in the theme of the name, thanks for another great hide Na'wal.

This was a great spot and I enjoyed the walk along the bike path despite the cyclists who were out in force today. It took me a while to work out just how to get near here and then once the car was parked GZ was in sight. I circumnavigated the cache before honing in on it. Nicely done. Checked the clue but couldn't work it out.
Bacchus Marsh is also in a rain shadow area. Our garden is well attest to that.

Thought I would grab this cache before work this morning. Parked close to GZ and then legged it the rest of the way. The water level was pretty high under the bridge, and there were lots of green floaties on top of the water !!!! A quick search and the clever cache was soon found. TFTC Na'wal.

After having just completed the You Yangs Circle Drive series we had the opportunity to checl the water pressure here on the way home. There was certainly plenty of water under the bridge, although it did not look very fresh. After a quick search the cache was spotted and our name added to the log.
Thanks to Na'wal for the hunt.

Found this guy today on a bike ride which ended up being significantly longer than I had anticipated. I had been saving this cache until my riding buddy (Geomum) returned from foreign climes, however today, temptation got the better of me. The plan was to ride out some of the kinks acquired whilst scrambling around the dizzy heights of Anakie Gorge looking for a hide yesterday and the extra kms were fine as I need the exercise (well, fine I suspect until I try to walk tomorrow ). The weather was sunny. It was a good day for a ride.
So, I arrived at GZ with 19km down and having found the previous incarnation of this cache, wondered what might be in store. After a short search I spotted the cache which was a clever variation on a principle and entirely appropriate. I signed the log, put everything back and contemplated the ride home. I hadn't been round the Ring Road by bike for a while, so I decided on a detour...
Several kilometres on and with a stiff headwind making things difficult, I was wondering if I'd made the right decision, however the sun was still shining and a total of 51km later, I made it home.
Thanks Na'wal for a clever cache and great excuse for a ride !

Having been here to find the earlier cache, we knew where to park and were then on our way to GZ. A little circle around and we then spotted it. This was a nifty hide, I haven't seen one quite the same as it before. Thanks for the cache.
I love clever caches, thanks for putting the time in to making this up. Just look where you are walking cause this area is being used as a toilet. Yuk

Suscoe's 6th find of the afternoon as we were wandering around the north.
Parked near our Explorer cache and checked its well being, all ok!
Then the walk to GZ, a bit of water has been in one underpass but nothing to worry about.
The cache was soon spotted and the clever hide was found.
The log is slightly damp but nothing to worry about at the moment.
Thanks to Na'wal for placing this cache out here in a new form.

Decided that we could not have a cache so close to home without a smilie face. We set out on a lovely Sunday morning trip to knock this one off. We could not believe that after 3 days we managed a silver medal here. Where are all the local cachers.?
