The girl power team couldn't find this one and I am fairly sure that this is where there had been a big clean up in the area. The grass had been cut to within an inch of it's life.
4 of us had a really good look but no cache to be found. After a busy day I can't quite remember if this was an incredibly tidied up area, I think it was.
The 4 of us had a really good look here but the grass here had been cleared by weedeater to the roots and taken away so couldn't even look through it. We were Girl Power team
Today I had spare time between work commitments so headed north of the city to see what I could find. I've found a few others in this series so it was nice to be able to find a few more today. Amazing how these once everyday items now feel like museum pieces. All good with this one. TFTC, Biggles.
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are exploring around the Ashley River this weekend. Left Zara in Sefton and headed out in Toby. We have located the elusive turtle, but lets see what else we can find today.
Just been up to Mt Karetu Ridgeway. Ran out of time to get all the way. Need to get back to Zara and start heading home. But just have to meet up with the Travelling Tinker a few more times.
Met the Tinker here for some Handyplast. Could very well need some if The Seagnoid is going to sit in matagouri. Snagged and tagged. Cheers

Taybeedragon, Toby, Zara and I came down this way to search the nursery for the world turtle, having heard it was in this vacinity. We found it yesterday, and now are just wandering around, collecting all the rest of the cache between the Kowai and Ashley rivers.
My original plan involved caching somewhere else for the weekend, but winds interfered, and gave me an opportunity to cache closer to home. So out I went for a few hours of caching, and had great fun. I ended up with small rocks, dirt, and vegetation everywhere on myself and the car Definitely worth the fun! TFTC!!!

Out and about after dinner, grabbing a couple of caches, targetting this series. Thanks for the series and the effort it went into setting it up, I really liked the variety of containers, with a couple of DNFs I shall return to grab.
TFTC TheWanglers, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 28 finds of 32 today, making this find #1431

I needed some caches for the day, and even though it was dark, I wanted to knock a few extras off.
So decided to come out this way, I wanted to get at least two, with maybe about 6 or 7 being the target.
It was a much warmer afternoon than expected! Quite surprising! but then towards the end, the wind really picked up, so I ended up getting my 6 in!!
All nice quick and easy, even alone in the dark.
Consec caching day # 1287

Had a fun time finding some of these today. Will have to come back out to try and find the rest at some stage. Thanks for your efforts in placing and maintaining this well thought out series!
#12294. The (caching) day was young (it was still morning), and we weren't too "tired" to spot this one. TFTC.
Another gorgeous autumn day just asking for a caching expedition so we headed north of the Ashley to turn some green icons into smiles, travelling as far north as White Rock. It's been a while since we were last in the area and I'm pretty sure I've not been to White Rock before so had an enjoyable time exploring these North Canterbury roads. Thanks to the COs for their cache placements.
A nice big container, though decided not to leave a TB as the log book was a bit damp. TFTC.

First cache of the day... for some reason I walked to all 4 corners before finding the cache. I got a bit excited to be caching and wasn't looking at my phone. Got there in the end! TFTC
After several days in Chch and surrounds we headed home today but of course made time to find some caches on the way. As well as caching around Ashley and Loburn we returned to the Greta Valley to finish what we didn't have time for on our way south.By the time we reached home last night our count for the day was 53, tired but satisfied with our efforts for the week. The logs were signed HZ+HM, H+H, or on some case with our full names.
Thank you to all CO's whose caches we found this week.
Thank you to all CO's whose caches we found this week.
After caching managed to hold us up for two days we're heading for home. Not without picking up caches on the way and not so on the way though. And a detour via Greta Valley to take care of some unfinished business from a few days ago on the way down. The landscape is a lot more pleasant here than both the dry and irrigated land further South. A good variety of caches were found. Nice after doing some series on days previous. Our final tally for this multi day raid was 380+. The Travelling Tinker series was fun, a bit different with the appropriate containers to the series name and it brought back memories to boot. Thank you TheWanglers
A quick easy find as we travelled down memory lane. A favourite from us. The logbook has now dried out and is ok to use. We put it in a plastic bag. TFTC

Day 11 of my Kiwi adventure started with some retail therapy, followed by a catch up with some other cachers for a bit of a numbers run. The weather was not too good, so perfect for not spending too much time outside. Caught up for a quick bite in town with Kyzabra, jinta29 and GreenGeckos. We now had a target of 30 odd caches for my new friends to get 100 caches for the day.

Out for some Mega caching with Kyzabra, Jinta29, Gunnie69 and Ghostgums.Saw some beautiful countryside today and had a blast caching. Thank you %owner for placing and maintaining this cache.
Kyzabra and I headed over for the Christchurch Mega from Perth, WA. Today we were joined by The Green Geckos today and ahomburg, we targeted some of the larger series around this area.
We had a fantastic time caching in the cooler climate and with no fear of snakes or other nasties! Christchurch is my old home town but I did not know about caching when I lived there so it was fun exploring the City with a different objective.
We were glad to grab the smiley on this one and we replaced the container as found. Thanks TheWanglers for placing this and bringing us to this spot!
This is my find #4442 and find #99 today.

A caching expedition that has been months in the planning. Jinta29 and I headed over from Perth, and today we met up with the GreenGeckos again for a final day assault on NZ caches. ahomburg joined us after lunch in Kaiapoi
We have had a ball over here. Personally my first trip to NZ. The cache owners have been great and Ive enjoyed meeting people aling the way.
i apologise in advance for the generic log.

In town for a “Mega” weekend of caching. I joined up with Yeetrees and gonefishing to form Team YGB. I really enjoyed exploring the country roads of Canterbury. We travelled a fair few Kilometres in the 4 days we were here, and had a great time, with a lot of laughs along the way. Good weather, and good company. It doesn’t get much better than that does it.
Monday. Day Four, Area 4. Today we ventured north up towards Amberley. A change of scene from the long straight roads on the plains that we had experienced in the previous days. We then headed back to Pegasus and Rangiora to round out the day with a bit of urban caching.
Thanks to all the CO’s for all the caches we found.
Cheers and TFTC

Found during the Mega weekend on bit of a tiki-tour around the Canterbury back blocks. Great weather, great caches, great fun! Thanks to all the cache owners for putting out and maintaining caches for us to find. All in all, a fun road trip with Boxhill and Yeetrees, we signed many of the logsheets as YGB to save both time and logsheet spaces.

Off to the Mega this weekend and a 2 day pass has been granted for Geocaching purposes. It being a long weekend and all there was definitely a plan to get some caches and keep the numbers ticking along. Finished work at 12.00 and waited for the accompanying nightowl19 to finish her school morning. Pick her up and back home to get changed and a bite to eat before heading down the line. There's an event in Rangiora that we'd like to attend and we need to check into our accommodation. All interspersed with few caches too. A restrained 15 was todays total before tomorrows planned 200 plus in a day, followed by as many types in a day on Sunday, then back home Sunday arvo. Quite the whistle-stop tour. Weather played fair, we ate take aways all weekend. . . . . . . . . . . shameful parenting, and had a great time. Even got to cache with G H 6 7 1 0 too, bonus.
Around the back roads chasing cache containers and eating pizza, love it

Found this cache on the way down to Christchurch with cappperz Was a beautiful day to comme down for the weeknd and we almost were certain to get burnt so the suncream was heavily slapped on. The drive was lovely and caches were plentiful! Found this cache with capperz on a afternoon caching day out T F T C
Clever wee hide. Fair bit if traffic for this far out so had to be quick.
On the way back from the top of Okuku Pass, picking up everything as I go, and exploring an area I haven't had much to do with until now. Surprised to see a big one! TFTC (2244)
Planned a whirl wind trip to Canterbury this weekend to get some numbers and collect some puzzles - what a fantastic weekend for it, the weather was brisk but clear and sunny.
I think this is the first time we have come across this Travelling Tinker series - loved the containers, must have taken you a while to collect, throughly enjoyed all these finds and a +1 fav point for the series, although we have some more to collect one day I think.

A chilly day out with Karma Reprint, finding the little boxes. Nice and large this one. Cheers
Giving Mrs SB some time off as tomorrow will be busy despite being mothers day, so Team SB minus Mum hit the road "Treasure hunting" some had to be done as solo missions, some as a twosome and a few we could all look for. With picnic loaded up we were away. This was the fourth of the day and yet another solo mission.
A few caches before we leave New Zealand after four weeks of traveling. This was number 21, nice one! Visible from a distance.

Down this way for a spot of work and Rep training through the Southern Regions and Christchurch so this is an opportunity to grab a few caches that i otherwise would not get to. And as i'm working on a MGSc Challenge numbers are quite important.
After rushing off of the plane and getting a car it was straight off caching up a storm. This the one of many hopefully tonight as i want to have completed the requirements for the challenge before heading to the OZ Mega
THanks for the placement

Running around a bit and decided to use the Garmin - a wise move as this was different from the previous caches in the series. But another smiley - we enjoyed the afternoon. TFTC
I did a mini road trip today, solo. I really enjoyed tinkering about and finding your original series. Sadly some are missing on Birch Road. But I didn't find that out until later in the day. Nice big container earns it a favourite from me.
I apologize for the EXTREMELY late log. 5th and last day of our End of Year caching trip. Last night we stayed at furpurse's house in ChCh and today we are heading home via the Travelling Tinkers powertrail. Most were quick easy P&G's as they were seen from the cache as we pulled up but some were lying on the ground so we put them back where the had come from. A nice quick find here and then we stayed and watch the farmer across the road bayling. I had never seen it being done before - pretty cool to watch really. Thanks for the powertrail
I guess most households in New Zealand would once have had a tin of Handyplast in a cupboard. Another tin that looked really familiar. TFTC .
A nice series to spend the day on!
A day spent around the Oxford and Rangiora areas. Nice and sunny, with a bit of a cool wind.
Thank you very much for the hide.

Hadn't had a decent caching mission in ages so off I went on a windy Sunday. My grandfather used to have an extensive selection of these containers and I remember being fascinated by these when I was a nipper. TFTC and the series!!!!
6412. Out on a travelling tinker mission this afternoon. Aim was to do all 33 plus a few others, as well as checking a couple of our own. This was cache number 5 of 37 finds. Retrieved the container easily, even though it was set differently. What a great collection of containers. Thanks for the cache. Rodney and Iris.
TFTC. Out for a days caching adventure with flobberworm! so we decided to sign the log TeamFP. We started the day off with a little healthy Fruit and Veggies and then finished off with a nice piece of Tinkering around.
I enjoyed the use of these olden day containers and found all of the placements to be great and accessable.
Thanks TheWangler for placing this cache and the entire series.

Labour day and a drab looking one at that, what better way to spend it than out caching with buddies. Madcat9, JustmeG and I will join forces to become MadBearMeg for the day. Great series, we really enjoyed collecting them all (so far) Sure can have a fav point for the series from me, alot of effort has gone onto placing these and some great scenery and lots of baby animals where to be seen all along the way. A really awesome way to spend a dismal looking day. Thanks so much for all the caches
Another in this series found with Bbear44 & JustMeg and signed as Mad Bear Meg. TFTC
Out on the trail of a "travelling Tinker" today with BBear and MadCat9 and what a great day's outing even if the weather didn't play ball with us. At least we had the comfort of a nice dry car, unlike the early travelling tinkers who had their horses and carts. Recycling is always good so it was nice to see the containers here being used. Made us wonder what the next one might be. We also enjoyed the scenery and during our drive spotted boer goats, highland cattle, deer, black sheep, white sheep, beef cattle, horses, cats, ducks and a wide variety of birds. Fantastic day! I even got to try my first "dew" from a honeydew beech tree. Epic!
Handy, yeah right. This was the first tinker cache we couldn't confirm from the comfort of the car. Another interesting tin and the weather is back to a drizzle so it's all good.

Was not expecting this tin! Quite different to the others we've found so far. Loving them!
Back along this way with ayeffay and cfahey1 to clean up most of the rest of this series.
A lovely, sunny Saturday morning to collect the Travelling Tinker series. 24 caches in one day is my all-time record. I love the containers and have a small collection of my own. Bugzptr, cfahey1 and I had a great morning out. Thank you.
It looked a nice day for a cyclocache ride so I decided to go for a 40km ride to seek and sign off all of the currently published series of Travelling Tinker caches in the Loburn and North Loburn area. Smoothhound also rode along to sign off those he hadn't visited. This was my number 21 of 24 .Thanks for the cache.
