Returned after our recent DNF to research. Came armed with tools and mirrors and quickly found this time by sight. Pulled back down and soon signed and the smiley was ours!

I wasn't waiting for a bus - I wanted to find a cache Smile
... I had made it to the 2 Duck dash events, but decided that counting those as my daily find felt too much like cheating ... besides - I kind of had to go looking for at least one bog standard normal cache on Geocaching Day - lol
So ... I decided to go grab one in a slimy grimy yucky alley in CIVIC because it was the nearest unfound to where I was ... but neither my dog or I found it (not the most fun place to search when it is cold, wet, getting dark, and when still suffering from effects of some horrid cold/flu bug) ... So I had a look at what else was not too much of a detour and spotted this one on the map - cool - a Take Action one - have found a few of these, usually not hard - and often easier in the dark - perfect (and there are others nearby if I do need a backup Smile
I parked just over the road, and ducked over and found it while the dog waited in the car, then I drove one or 2 streets away to the next nearest and the dog and I went for a nice walk in the dark and found that one and 2 others Smile
TFTC - another bus shelter visited - lol - was slightly disappointed (but not really surprised) that this was just the normal (for Canberra anyway) round concrete variety, not a quaint little wooden hut or something (like there are a few of in the inner suburbs) ... mind you I think at least some of these type of bus shelters will need to be preserved for posterity as well ... one would make an interesting addition to my back yard actually (I could be the grandma with the weirdest cubby house in Canberra? Smile
Find was quick and easy - first place I poked my fingers in, but second time I poked them in there - realised that I was on the wrong angle the first time and may have missed feeling somewhere - and I was correct - lol - signed log and replaced it how I found it.

20-Aug-16
No luck tonight. No amount of searching and poking came up with any success. Just not my night.

20-Aug-16
Looked in obvious and not so obvious places to no avail. Not sure if it has been pushed to far in one of the holes, but I wasn't going to poke anything else other than a stick in there.

18-Aug-16
In the area this morning but there were muggles around. I drove past and came back after they had gone. After a short search I found the cache in one of the few possible locations. Thanks genghicat

Drove past this morning in the hope that the stop was vacant. What luck! All was quiet so I made my move. After reading that the cache was there I had an idea that I just hadn't been at the right angle last time. Success this time was quick. Log signed but it is pretty full. I didn't have spare paper to change otherwise I would have. TFTC

02-Aug-16
Thanks TTW for recovering the cache. Suspect its location was unintended, and was just left this way until someone (other than it seems the owner) could/was able to pay it the necessary attention. TNLNSL TFTC

Still there. Found with a bit of poking around

14-Jul-16
No muggles in sight this morning so was able to have a good look. Couldn't come up with find. Gave up just as a muggle came to use the area for its intended purpose.

We'd visited this one a couple of months ago, but had no luck finding it. Having noticed that it was now back in Action (yes, pun intended!) we went for a quick detour before work this morning and did the honours.

As mentioned already, it's interesting to compare the paper log to the online logs!

Thanks genghicat, it was a long awaited smiley for us. Smile

After reading that TheTreeWhisperer had rescued this cache I decided to give it a go. I waited for the bus to arrive to collect the waiting passenger and then with trusty geo-mirror in hand I approached the now empty bus shelter to begin my search. It didn't take long and I was signing the log. The log is full, plus tatty, and needs replacement. Because of this, I only wrote the date and GW in a gap. TFTC genghicat.

I've been working in the inner north and inner south regularly over the last few weeks, and have picked up a few caches along the way. Until now I've avoided this particular cache due to the long list of DNF's. This afternoon, with no time pressures, and cunningly clad in high-vis I decided to give it a go. Generally I detest high-vis clothes but today they, along with a strategically parked generic looking white ute proved their worth, allowing me to lay on my back in a bus shelter without attracting so much as a glance from passers-by! After checking the obvious spots, I deployed a custom engineered tool (read bent piece of wire) and bingo! A cache! I signed the log (it was interesting to compare the paper log with the online logs...) and replaced the cache in what I hope was the manner intended by the CO. It should certainly be findable by future cachers. Thanks, Genghicat for something different - whether it was intended or not! Big Grin

12-Jun-16
Found it

09-Jun-16
Thursday 9 June 2016 - a cool overcast morning. Searched thoroughly in 'every' nook and cranny for more that 15 min, inside and out of the shelter, determined to find this cache but sadly without success. Now that I see that many before me have not found the cache it needs to be reported. Looking forward to coming back this way once it has been 'fixed'.

I think I new where it was but the hole was so small I couldn't reach it. Disappointing.

11-May-16
Sad day when you can't find one Sad

04-May-16
No sign of a cache, and we looked in every possible nook and cranny. Based on previous DNF logs, it looks like this one is gone.

25-Apr-16
Didn't find it probably muggled very sad

16-Apr-16
Looked in every nook and cranny. Tried with torch, tweezers and stick but had no luck. TFTH

18-Feb-16
Found it but could not get it with my fat fingers.

I too was venturing into new areas to complete the Canberra Mapping Challenge. Having picked up Southside Take Action caches this was a quick find. Thanks for another Gengicat.

14-Feb-16
Found it, but it was too far in to pull out!

10-Feb-16
4:10pm 10/2 - On my way home early from a meeting, thought I'd venture into areas not previously visited for a cache - one step closer to the mapping challenge goal. Haven't had any of the ACTION caches yet, now I know what to expect - BYO bug spray.

The cache is there, and the log is full. Thanks for the cache genghicat.

Last place we looked! Unfortunately I pushed it in further, luckily I had a tool in the car to grab it. Just as we walked back to the car the bus came along... I'm so glad he didn't catch us in the act!!!

Will have to go back to the others now ....
Thank you genghicat.

28-Dec-15
Found with MR on a day of caching after the feasting of Christmas.

A walk around Civic collecting a few caches with the missus. Not too many muggles around to-day. TFTC

23-Dec-15
A two day trip to Canberra to pick up a few caches and to attend an event.
With a good variety of cache hides, we were kept busy.

Cache was found quickly, and in good condition. Signed the log, and replaced.
Many thanks for placing this cache, genghicat, for us and others to find.

23-Dec-15
I'm on the northside today, shopping and doing various errands. No GeoSchnauzers today, I don't want to leave them in the car while I'm shopping. This was my second stop, and after a bit of poking and prodding in hidey holes, I found the cache. Onya, genghicat.

19-Dec-15
Found quickly after abandoning the search in the nearby park due to muggles.

Thanks

14-Dec-15
Tftc. Last place I looked, but was successful, thanks.

With a couple of hours to spare between engagements, I filled in the time caching. A quick find here. TFTC.

26-Nov-15
Sneaky hide!

24-Nov-15
After spending a lovely day sightseeing in Canberra, while the boys fired up the BBQ, Jayne and I decided to sneak out for a quick cache. Took ages to find this one (in the first place I looked after another 15 mins searching...) and even longer to retrieve it but we were determined not to give up. Nice hide, TFTC Smile

09-Nov-15
Couldn't get it out of its hidey hole

07-Nov-15
Easy enough to locate the cache itself but a whole other issue to get it out! Got there in the end. TFTC!

26-Oct-15
We had lunch not far from here so I grabbed this one on the way past.
Thanks

13-Oct-15
Not much action here today, only an old bloke on his knees in a bus stop.

14-Sep-15
Found @ 1:12pm on a lunchtime stroll from work

It's been a while since I've found a cache in this series. A relatively quick find and I made use of the bench to do my log.

A bus was due shortly as a muggle came and stood inside to wait just as I was writing my online log. She started talk to me about strange things so I took that as my cue to leave.

Thanks genghicat.

23-Aug-15
Nice quick find. A muggle walked right past entrance and walked behind the shelter to wait for a bus. We left and got into the car and endured the biggest unwavering starefest that I've had the misfortune of being subjected to. Scary muggle! TFTC.

23-Aug-15
We were in the area looking for a nearby cache and this came up so we headed over and, having done some of the series before, knew right where to look. We soon had the cache in hand and signed when a muggle walked past the front of the shelter, and went behind the shelter where she had an unnerving stare at us as we left. TFTC Genghicat!

10-Aug-15
After two recent DNFs, we wondered if we should give this one a miss today. We decided instead to try our luck. Mrs Domsky brought along a favourite caching tool, and it was in the very first place she looked, snug and dry. We signed the log and were on our way again.
Thanks genghicat for another bus stop!

Domsky

I saw the DNF of the previous cacher but thought to check it out myself. There was no one around and so I spent some time - pulled all kinds of filthy cobwebs etc from under the most likely spot, looked all around the enclosure and didn't find it. Thanks genghicat - I'll come back once i see other finding it again.

26-Jul-15
Looked in all the holes but did not find it. Someone might've dislodged it. All we found was dust and cobwebs!

03-Jul-15
Good hiding spot. Watch out for muggles - a man was scratching his head after I was placing the cache back to where was. TFTC.

25-Jun-15
The fourth find of the day. This one was a bit further a field but I needed to grab it to help clear my 10km radius. I parked close to GZ and began to search around. I think it took a little too long to find but I did have to wait out a few muggles. I personally don't really enjoy these hides as I don't know where I am shoving my hands. Having found others in the series, I had a good idea of where it would be. I searched the usual spots but couldn't find it! I then realised what had happened and after sticking my hand in much further, I had soon gotten the container and saved it from the abyss! Log signed and cache replaced. TFTC genghicat!

20-Jun-15
Not being in canberra long, I have never actually been in one of these apps. So this was an interesting visit. Found with bethbeff. Thanks!

31-May-15
Night caching - very exciting. A bit difficulty to retrieve but finally managed to sign this one. TFTC

29-May-15
I needed a quick cache on the way home, and while this was not on the most direct trajectory home, I like to think of it as transcribing a wide arc on the way home Smile

Cache quickly found - had my heart beating a bit quicker when it fell and started sliding out of reach, but retrieved okay and log signed - phew!

Thanks Genghicat for the quick and easy cache - just what I needed this afternoon!

Found 9:40 pm with x_mscake. I wanted to grab a few caches and we were in the neighbourhood finding another so went over to find this one. Still took a bit of time looking in a variety of places. X_mscake even looked on the roof. I then got a little braver and felt around where I didn't like the thought of what bugs might be hiding and then I discovered it. We signed the log and replaced the cache as found.

I was in the vicinity with decrypter so we went looking for this one. There were people awaiting the bus, so we walked on. Came back a few minutes later to find the stop empty so we started looking. Soon had it. TFTC

06-Feb-15
An on the way home from work cache to fill a gap in our geo-calendar. Didn't take too long for zita to locate this very nicely hidden little cache. We think this is our first in the Take ACTION series, we really must get on to a few more. TNLNSL TFTC genghicat Smile

Many thanks fir the challenge.

Noticed this cache as we were in the neighbourhood, so a quick drive-by and Taken ACTION with no muggles around.

Final cache found on the first day of 2015! We parked in front of the bus stop, because it was a very quiet day with the bus system today. We have seen this hide before, so it was a nice quick find. TFTC genghicat!

26-Dec-14
Went to find the container only to see Boots65 had been here earlier today and had retrieved the cache, signed the log and put it back where it belongs. Cache is good to go.

And thank you Boots65 for the help with th ed cache Smile

26-Dec-14
3751. Felt a bit like a chimpanzee digging honey from a bee hive with a stick for this one. Got the job done and replaced it where some of others in this series had been located.
Thanks genghicat for the cache and the fun.

11-Dec-14
Fell the wrong way when trying to reinsert it. Out of reach of my fingers. Needs to hooked out with piece of wire.
