Day 346 Today we made our way out to Lake Moondara and along the way we made a stop or two for a cache to add to our collection today.
This was our first stop however at the GZ we ended up being rather disgruntled as the cache was not found however it had not been found in some time maybe it is missing or just not in the area our GPS had us.
Thanks for bringing us our here cruzeycoop but alas it was a DNF for us today.

While staying in Mount Isa for a few days we decided that a tour of Lake Moondarra should be on the agenda and of course a search for any caches in the locality
This was our first find for the day and what a delight it was. There was only one space left on the log which would have been chockers when we added our name so we removed it and added another piece of paper so other cachers have space to sign. Unfortunately we didn’t have ‘write in the rain’ paper but I guess it will be fine for most of the dry season or until the CO can replace it
Many thanks for a very cute cache cruzeycoop ...a favourite point from us

Cute as a button. Didn't find the cascades though. I attempted it, there was some large washouts, maybe I took a wrong turn. I'll have another crack another day. TFTC.
Set out with Pa after lunch to see how many caches we could find . This was the first and a quick find by Pa. Not sure about the Three Sisters, maybe the 3 blind mice though!
Great hide. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for us to enjoy Cruzeycoop. Love it!
After signing duties were completed I returned the cache to its hidey hole. Signed log as SG as I often do in small caches to save space.

On the way back down the highway, our time in Darwin is over, now heading for the eastern states.
The caches we found we left to pick up heading south as they are on the correct side of the road when stopping with a caravan in tow.
This helped to break up th many long kilomenters between destinations.

Rats ! Mrs Coongoola found this one.
Thanks for the cache cruzeycoop.

While staying at Mount Isa we tackled a few new caches that have been published since our last visit and this was one of them. On our way back to town we made a detour to collect this smilie and then followed the waypoints to the rock art. A great day out.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

We were on the way out to Lake Moondarra and this was one of the first caches on our to-find list today. Forgetting that the waypoints were loaded in the GPSr, GeoAJ turned off the highway and headed along an unmarked track that led us on quite a wild goose chase until we came to a "dead end" where the road was blocked by mounds of gravel at a working mine/quarry site. The next track we took ended in a roadblock of large rocks across the track. Oops! After making our way back to the highway we continued on to the lake and did some 4WD-ing and cache finding there before returning here to have another go. This time we followed the proper marked track and made it to GZ quickly and easily. GeoAJ made the find and let out a yell before retreating and making GeoTM complete the mission (which she did with some amusement). A favourite point from us for the adventures we had while making our way to GZ and for the hide and container. Thanks cruzeycoop.
Took a bit to get rthe right road – got there in the end – I can see why you have 5 favourites at this time – loved the cache - TFTC / TFTH / SL
Last for the day as we head back to Mt Isa. Probably the last cache here for this trip as we need to head north tomorrow once the van has been serviced.
A novel, amusing cache container.
Thanks cruzeycoop for all the caches you have placed in the area. There seems to be very few of the ones we got when we were here 2 years ago still in circulation. We have been impressed with the quality and variety of caches here now.

We followed the arrow after attempting the Rocky Ridge Ramble series, and ended up following some indistinct wheel tracks for a while. We then spotted a good bitumen road hiding in the spinifex (by virtue of a speed sign sticking up), and headed for the cache.
We gave this cache a vavourite point for the novel container.
[/Blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
Cache Condition: The container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Nothing.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.[font=Verdana]
