Stopped by to check on this today while visiting Napier and even with the help of these two locals the cache was gone.
The trees near coordinates have recently had a huge cut back so i'm guessing the cache may have gone too
This took longer than I expected. After an exhaustive search I thought maybe I had the wrong tree. Search the other nearby tree without luck. Was considering a DNF but figured another search of the first tree and found it almost straight away! Thanks for the hunt and for the cache.
With Flowerydaze on a trip to Napier with our wine club and this one was on the list. A lovely day for caching and a great container. We were confronted by an angry swan so FD sent me to retrieve it, but all was well FP from me, thanks nzkites.
Talla64 and I might have been searching for this for 20 minutes, but it did seem longer than that. At the point when Talla said "well it's got me beat", I spotted it. I was very relieved and Talla was very impressed. Unfortunately at that moment a swan took exception to my presence, so I got Talla to retrieve the log. Thanks for the challenge and for the cache nzkites. Good fun.

We were starting to think that we were looking for the proverbial needle in a haystack when after reading some previous logs, the cache just magically appeared right in front of us - a dinky little one it is too. TFTC

The first of nine caches located today (not including the four credited for an Adventure Lab late morning) on day 7 of our motorhome summer holiday to Hawkes Bay. This was one of three traditional caches we found during our Anderson Park ‘adventure’. Took a few moments to spot this one. It was starting to seem like a “needle in the haystack” challenge when it jumped out in front of me in not-too-difficult a position! #3684. TFTC.
We are on our summer holiday, we usually take a few weeks and travel around the South Island, but this year we are heading around the North Island. Heading up the West coast and back down the East coast. Finding only a select few caches along the way, we are mostly targeting some challenges we have qualified for, some large size caches, some that fill gaps in our date placed grid, a few D/T combinations, some with lots of favourite points, letterboxes and anything else that grabs our fancy.
I had a fall on day two of our holiday, while out geocaching which has resulted in a fractured bone in my leg and I am in a moon boot and with crutches and I was told to keep weight off my leg. So I am only limited use when it comes to our trip now. I tend to stay in the campervan and just hand out suggestions of when and where GK should search.
I thought this one sounded ideal for me to try to find as I seem to do a lot of hanging around since I hurt myself. So I headed to find this one while gk headed to find the other one at the other end of the park. This was a surprisingly fast find, it had the potential to be really tricky if not a dnf, but luckily I looked at the right spot within a very short time and there was the wee beauty.
Thanks for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley.

Not generally a fan of this type of cache but felt in the mood for challenge today. Took me a few minutes, but when I turned on my caching brain all was well . All good at GZ. Greetings from Wellington and TFTC.
No luck today.
I gave it a 15 minute look, with no luck, how ever I got a text saying my new gps had arrived so I was a happy cacher.
Next time.......

Certainly need to watch your step here. Searched and searched a migrated to another tree after "five minutes and we are outa here". Then the "yep got it". Very sneaky. Thanks for the challenge nzkites
Now that's an evil hide so small ..nearly gave up the search, when phase 2 of determination set in and amazingly it was in my face so to speakgreat area many thanks NZ kites
30 May 2020 10:07. Took me way longer than it should have, but found it in the end.
GSEL, however was birdwatching, so was unphased by the delay, as apparently there is a very rare duck here (which we eventually spotted) not too far from GZ! Tftc

Now NZ has moved to Alert Level 2, Geocaching is allowed but it’s up to each one of us to keep the rest of us safe.

#595 Searched a bit, but the mrs found it "hanging around". Lots of duck & geese. TFTC
With such a small cache, it was just luck that we happened to look at the right place. TFTC
Unfortunately no success for me today...
Was also being reasonably well protected by a swan and some geese

Alas 40minutes searching and being spotted by another geocacher didn’t reveal it to me this time!
This was our 3rd (and last) find of the day - while out geocaching with our grandsons in Anderson Park. The boys couldn't resist the opportunity of having a climb of tree, it was just too inviting. Thanks for the placement J & J.
Down in the area for a rest with friends and for some caching. The are some interesting caches to be found. TFTC
Tricky little find but you'll find it with patience and persistence. Luckily we had the geese and a few other animals to keep us entertained.
Wow this was tricky to find. I was going cross eyed. The swans were interested in us so kept us amused while we hunted.
Another qwik find for us today-this could have taken a while as it's a great hide-tftc
After reading some of the previous logs we were convinced this one was going to take us quite a while but we found it fairly easily. You definitely have to have keen eyes to spot it. TFTC
This was our second visit to search for this one and it again nearly beat us. We were alomost ready to give up when Pat spotted the cache. A really nice park to walk or cycle around. TFTC
We were in the port of Napier in New Zealand for the day. We decided to get out of the busy areas and took a cab to the Dolbel Reserve and did the caches there. What great views from the top!!!
While we were there, we watched a new sport to us. It was "cardboard sledding". Families brought big pieces of cardboard and used them to sled down the grassy hills. Interesting!
We then did the walk back to Town and picked up a number of caches along the way, including several in the beautiful Anderson Park. We wound up with 15 caches on the day, with no DNFs.
Thank you to each of the COs for their efforts and for their caches.
Great day!!!

This cache: Quick Find
When we drove up to the GZ there was a family feeding the birds (I think they were feeding them potato chips, but I hope I was mistaken). There were probably 200 birds. I was worried that they might be at the cache, but they were a good distance off. Found the cache easily, but for the dog mentioned by hayleyfcy. Thanks!
Ah easy find once we located the right spot. Many ducks around! We also had a visit from a little Muggle dog. It probably got curious, thankfully the owner just waited for it and didn't come over. Tftc
In Napier for a couple of days visiting friends and caching (priority not necessarily in that order). This took a lot of looking for. Thanks it was a fun search.
Team Woofy made the find on this one, thankfully as it is this type of hide I sometimes find a challenge.... plus three sets of eyes is much faster.....

Found quickly but because lucky to look up (im about 5ft 9) slightly, towards the trunk. Otherwise would have been hard to find this small gc. Thanks
Nice short stroll to GZ and cache was spotted rather quickly by my daughter. Thanks for the placement and the cache
A bit behind with the logging - on a 3 day caching adventure with rustynz and gorby
Walking through this lovely park with rustynz and Rebel98, a really nice couple I have to say! Have traveled far and wide caching with them. Today is no exception, here in Napier for 3 days and today is our final day. After watching a baby swan trying to get over the 'waterfall' we came here, thought this cache might take awhile, certainly had the potential to do so, but after a few seconds I was able to lay my hands upon it. Good team work here, one undoes the container, one signs the log the other watches!
Exploring this park with a wild group of Westies (rebel98 and gorby). We weaved our way past the swans, and found the gap between the lakes to make our way to GZ.
Oh a nano, hmm hanging, hmm gorby found it, yeah
Thanks for the hide and bringing us to the lovely park

I came out to Anderson Park to do the Parkrun on Saturday morning. What a great way to start the day.
And, it was made better by stopping here to have a look for this cache. It took me a while but I got there in the end.
Thank you

We checked on this today and replaced the log sheet with a fresh one. We note there are a few branches down after the recent cyclone which might make the cache easier to find.
Found the other two in park first, leaving this one to last, as it's my third attempt to find. It didn't take that long to find, and I wounded why I didn't find it earlier, as you do. Nice hide and pleased I've got the smiley. Cheers.
Found at the second time here, really hard as it is absolutely not where I thought it would be. Spent too much time walking around the 2 trees..
And even after I 'dived into' it was not easy.
Thanks for bringing me here even twice

After aborting other two in this park due to muggles, i was able to easily retrieve and sign. Heading back two the others and hoping muggles have moved on. Thanks for the hide.
Maybe not exactly tomorrow, but a relatively quick find after taking a look at the cache page online so that I knew which tree I was searching in. Thanks for placing the cache.
Lovely day, swans busy elsewhere, but still it was a DNF for me. I'll be back tomorrow!
I parked the geomobile at this end of Anderson and went a waddling with the waterfowl
First stop here, where I hung around for about 10 minutes
Me mind was not yet back into 'nano' finding mode after having found one 'nano' already this morning,
and a long DNF after that !! [:o]
Throw in a trip to the supermercado,
and I was obviously not yet mentally prepared for this challenge
Remember ... PPPPPP !!
So I wandered off around Anderson to find a couple of other larger caches (hopefully).
Yoga for the caching mind
It must have worked as when I wandered back past the trees here,
I found the cache in under 15 minutes
Good accuracy on the coords ... Ta for that [^]
And if you are wondering 'which tree' when you go looking for this little teaser of a cache,
there's a clue on the cache page
Should save you half an hour of searching at least
Fave point for this one

I found this with my dad (nickhbnz) ages ago but only just got my own account . Thanks
Forgot to log when in Napier. We were visiting the area because our kids were taking part in the North Island secondary school orienteering champs. While they were running around the park we found some caches. TFTC
First cache of the morning just down from motel and I find a Nzkites cache thanks guys you do get around. Now off to enjoy this glorious day.
At the citycenter it was a little bit too noisy for the little baby of our son, so we moved to a more quiet place. Near the ACE High Motel where we stayed the weekend, is the Anderson Park. Together with my family we found the cache. Greetings from the Dutch travellers.
Hard but nice one! Found it after searching for a while.
Thank You!

A sneaky one that took a while for us to focus on. We loved the earlier log of 15/11/15 stating "Took nothing, left nothing".................what on earth did they find? Spent a lovely morning in this beautiful park. TFTC
On a short visit to Napier. This was a fairly straightforward hide, although a bit fiddley. Quiet day at the park, but plenty of ducks about. TFTC
Took Mycro Man for a ride on his bike with a muggle (who recently signed up to geocaching as well) and found a few caches in the park. Was worried this one was going to be really tough, but wasn't nearly as bad as we exoected, Thanks for the cache.
Finally found it after a lot of failed attempts. Great to meet the owners and another fellow cacher while we were there. Feeling satisfied with this find. Thanks
#7234. It was drizzling when we arrived at Anderson Park. GZ was all quiet. Found after a short search. Nice hide. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

Yay, last time we looked months ago it was missing. This time we found the base and the log on the ground, dried the damp log and had to hunt for the lid! Did it and reassembled safe and sound.
Lovely day to look for this one. Thanks for an excuse to visit a lovely park and see the baby signets, the swallows nesting and other birds.
