Time to archive this one. Reviewing the SH1 series and removing the more difficult ones to access given this very busy stretch of road.
Found the cache, signed the log and then became aware of a "presence". Looked up to see two moogles were watching my every moove. I swore them to secrecy and continued on my way. TFTC .
Glad to tick this one off today on a roadie with my son. A nice quick find at GZ.

Filming of the new Goodbye Pork Pie held up traffic for a while near cache. We parked behind traffic management truck to get cache without being seen, TFTC.

As i was picked up just after 4am to head to the Manawatu I realised this was not going to be a dot day. This was an attempt to get 270 caches in one day. There are a couple of great circuits in the Manawatu that will help work toward this goal so thanks to the CO's that have placed them for our enjoyment.
Thanks also to my partner in geo crime and driver for the day Yetrees. Without an able driver an attempt such as this would be impracticable so thanks for enabling it.
Thanks to all the CO's for their contribution to my smilie tally.
It is forecast to be a long day geocaching, hoping to make the 270 target. To be honest I'd be pretty happy with 200, however why not go for the Emerald badge (see project-gc.com)

Heading back from Wellington and thought we would add a few caches to this days total.
Straight forward find. Thanks.
Straight forward find. Thanks.
Thanks Just-Lookin!! After a sunny afternoon in Raumati we stopped for some of the SH1 series and enjoyed the finds! Thanks Just-Lookin for setting these here. TNLNSL
On a maintenance run today. Cache in good order. Replaced log. All good to go.
Holidays in NZ without geocaching? No way!
Grtz. from Holland. TFTC on our way to taupo

On a trip to Taupo for a week long of solo camping and lots of geocaching!
All I could find by the hint item was a child's toy lying on the ground. I am thinking this is what a previous cacher had clipped to the fence.

After completing my Birthday caching in wellington the family and myself are ready for home.
So time for the drive back from wellington to wanganui, stopping at a few caches we have picked along the way.
Cache / Camo / log are in good shape.
Pulled in here and was greeted by the title description, Camo fooled us on intial inspection, but a second look proved successful.
Cheers

[green] On my way to Palmerston North for Christmas, and caching along the way. An awesome day to be out and about. Except for the traffic. It seems that everyone is on the road. Getting back onto the road, especially if crossing lanes, can involve a ten minute wait!
And that's the problem. I am not enjoying this little series. Don't get me wrong, the caches are fine. No micros, locations mostly okay, parking mostly okay. It's just that I am doing them today. Looks like half of New Zealand finished work on the 18th and everyone is heading out. And everyone else is heading in. Both directions flat out busy.
Thanks for the hint re the dead bird.
Wow - this is amazing: I found and retrieved the old container, only a metre into the cow paddock (cows came over to say hello). I was able to retrieve it just by reaching through the fence. Yet the logs show it was replaced a over a year ago! Also found a toy that was in it, now clipped to the fence.

It took us quite a while to find this cache, in its slightly unusual hiding place, despite the accurate coordinates. The dead bird will be useful, while it lasts. TFTC
Another dead bird! Our second for today and this one threw us off for a bit. Finally spotted a hint of a blue clip. Tftc
sorry to Log a DNF try it Going North and Then Going South it the only one we did not Get
Made that much harder than needed to be. Took us a while to locate but got there in the end. TFTC
Cache found very quickly - but not so Joe's Gardens - no obvious sign of them! TFTC
A simple find thanks to a good hint - just what we need today as we are trying to get a high number of caches. Thanks.
I had to visit Waikanae for work today. It was such a cracker of an afternoon I decided to cruise up to Otaki and find some caches along the way. No sign of Joe here today. TFTC
I was travelling from Wellington to Whanganui and had targetted a few drivebys to grab on route.
Took a minute to find it, but got there. TFTC

Out for a day of binge caching in the company of -gonefishing- with the primary focus being the KAS power trail then meeting the criteria for the 142 in 24 hours challenge. After escaping the showers in Wellington the day turned out beautiful and was perfect for the task in hand. Thanks to all the cache owners who provided a great variety of entertainment along the way.
Stopped on the way north to Otaki to grab the last two roadside caches. Quick find. T4TC. Did with Mycro Man
Found during a day out in the Manawatu/Wanganui with Fozzmiester. Managed to mop up the KAS trail in just over 3 hours, averaging 30 finds/hour. With that many quick finds under our belt we continued on for a little longer to bring up 146 for the day. Thanks to the COs who placed all the caches we found.

Heading off for a six day sortie though the lower North Island with the primary reason being to pick up the CANZ caches we need to complete the North Island half of the challenge.
On our way north to Wanganui after a couple of days in Wellington. Checked all the hints but had no luck here. Notice that two cachers after us found it so we must have had our eyes painted on for this one.
Spoils our trail of smilie faces but thanks anyway Just-Looking. Perhaps we will return one day and turn the green box into a smilie.

Had a couple of days staying in Paraparaumu and manged to get quite a lot of caching time. Fair bucketing down for a good portion of both days - hence some very very short logs in an attempt to keep the logs as dry as possible! Thanks for the caches, neat area to cache in.
Heading northward. Getting ever closer to outlet land.
These SH1 caches are popular. Drive up, jump out, do the business and back on your way again.
Cache in order; log signed, safely re-hidden, just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too
The Turtle strikes again!

headed out today trying to get to 1100 before the 5th having having planned a route last night, managed to do this on such a busy day more so on the state highway, I dont know how many times I was either trying to look like I was randomly talking on the phone while bent over looking for a cache, its very hard to be shady on that road, but managed it and I am sure I looked silly but hey its what caching can be about. came across some very well kept caches and some not so and only got 6 dnf on the 29 I was looking for, I added swag to all caches that had room and were in good nic, sorry about the copy and paste on the logs, as I was caching by myself I didnt take notes. thanks for the cache.
Came here on a day trip up the Kapiti Coast to knock off some of the new caches in the area. Found after a short search, the hint item wasn't the one I expected it to be. Signed log, TFTC!
The last cache on our day trip to Waikanae today. A nice easy trail of caches - good for accumulating the smiley's. Thanks Just-Lookin.
Left a pet rock - a grey seal. TFTC

On my way south from Wanganui to Wellington I was happy to make some cool finds today
Thanks to the owners for hiding and maintaining the caches along the route [^] [^] - and cheers from Germany!

We had an enjoyable Sunday morning drive picking up some of Just-Lookin's new caches along SH1 and around Te Horo. We had no problems with any of them - they truly are 'park and grabs'. Thanks very much for all of these.
Today is a dot day, one of only 3 left for November and so a day I'd like to go caching on. Today is also the much awaited day when I travel down to South Island to start my new job. Have been laid up with poorly feet for a few weeks so only cache and grabs for a wee while now so quite nice to go on a bit of a road trip to increase my caching finds on the North Island. My intention will be over the next few weeks to redress that balance and get my South Island total kipping along.
Left Manawatu to overcast skies and threat of rain and wind still gusting from time to time, good old Spring.
Tried for this one a few weeks ago after our Zealandia power trail trip. Today, no problems, found behind second hint item option, Couple of geotrails to choose from!

Great to be out caching on a great Horowhenua day. I made this series hard for myself as I was travelling south, so I kept having to cross the road. Also I didn't manage to finish the series, but 'I'll be back'
Thanks for the series of caches Just-Lookin

Not sure if this one has gone walkabout but was not at the obvious place (like a previous cache with the same hint). Could be elsewhere though as we didn't spend long looking.
Another quick "park and grab" find today with tylerdrummond, Lisa, and Poppy the Geo Staffy. SLTFTC
Another quick and easy find today, quite thankful they're so simple as we have done so many of them today! If they were any more difficult I'd get tired way too quickly! TFTC
Looked at a few 'options' before hitting the jackpot reasonably quickly. Lots of passing traffic but no muggles as such anywhere nearby. #581. TFTC.
A plan was hatched a while ago to make a road trip down to Wellington to do the Zealandia Power Trail. Original cast members were to be spud n z, hunter hillson, tommy gun 9 and capperz. Alas other things came up so today's trip was only attended by the resolute tommy gun 9 and capperz and a weather bomb was looming but no worry, the caching must go on. Leaving Palmy at 0 5 3 0 was the plan to avoid any heavy Welly traffic and the ploy was wise. It was quite difficult to ignore all those unfound caches between Palmy and Welly but needs must when a power trail and some decent terrain is involved. At the end of the day we'd stayed mostly dry and no mis haps to report, so a successful trip all round with good company.
Coming off the track after over five hours of caching it was time for a few pre selected caches to finish the day off.
I'd started these SH1 caches last time I was passing on the way home (with a curry) after coming back from overseas but a lack of light and plenty of tiredness curtailed my efforts after the first one at Peka Peka
this time with daylight and time on my hands we had time to find another eight, only one D N F
This was the D N F. Plenty of searching today, and by previous lookers, but nothing found by either of us.

This one was definitely missing. New cache in place and placed 1.5 mtrs north - new hint - post.
A belated logging (Jan 15!!) of an afternoon's caching with little blue hen. Not sure why I missed logging these. Apologies for a few repetitive logs. Looking forward to the rest of the ones in the area. TFTCSL
No sign of Joe but there is a Mr Joe who sells vegies at the Paraparaumu Beach Saturday market each week. T4TCSL
Found some of this series while driving north on a sunny morning. This was our last find for today. Missed some because of whizzing by and realising too late. Joe's Gardens have certainly seen better days. Thanks for the series Just-Lookin, I look forward to finding more as we often drive up and down this stretch of highway.
I remember many years ago when the vege shop was open, and we would stop to buys veges from here. Seems a looong time ago now, I must be getting old lol. TFTC!
