In the area today for one cache in particular for our D/T grid, which was ticked off, now we were just picking up some loose unfound, or previously DNF'd caches.....This was previously DNF'd but not today.....smiles all round here.......The cache was in good shape.TFTC.
lol, husband also discarded what he thought was rubbish then we looked and laughed. All back where should be. Thanks for the find
We pulled out the cache and discarded it, thinking it was rubbish. Then not being able to find the cache, we had a check, and there it was, nestled inside the discarded item. So took longer than it should to find the cache never mind, it was signed and replaced, "rubbish" and all. Found with beansproutnz. Tftc
Great hide. We missed it the first time but decided to check it again on the way back out. Thanks for the cache.
We found this one while out on a morning run before our flight home. We didn't have a pen sorry. Its rather smelly out here and there was no breeze...
Im visiting family in Auckland and today my husband was going to a site visit nearby, so decided it was the perfect opportunity to find some caches here. Nice spot and fun outer camouflage. Again, no signature by the previous person. Tftc
Found something that looked like a bit of rubbish....and then had the cache in hand. Thanks
The rain is so that means geocaching! There are a few in the island so hoping to smash out them all! Armed with raincoats, trail shoes, some swappables, 3 pens (as I like to lose them) and a friend!
My friend found this without realising, then we kept looking for 5 mins before I asked about the ‘rubbish’.
Thanks to COs for placing and maintaining!

Definitely easier when you have an idea of what the survey mark might look like. After repeating the clues to myself over and over we eventually came back to the suspect and found the 'rubbish'
Well rustynz found this a longggg time ago, and it took a long time to find it again today. Luckily rusty found it again, and the log was signed. Thanks G-2 for the hide
Daddypig couldn't see the survey mark, neither could I. He thought he was screwed until I gave him a hand, and handed him the cache.
I was scanning the place for a survey peg but Mr Muggle spotted it for me first. You need good eyesight. The tipping rock almost got me. Nice camo! Thanks G-2
A nice wander round parts of the island today doing some of the adventure lab and grabbing a few caches along the way. We will definitely be back with our bikes in tow next time. Took a while to locate this one. Shame Kimbathelion hadn’t located it a couple of minutes earlier before I went clambering all over the slippery rocks. Tftc
This one took us quite a long time. Couldn't find hints. But eventually persistence paid off. Saw nail after we found the cache. Tftc
A few hours to kill before having to pick up my daughter at Auckland Airport so headed over to Puketutu Island. Arrived at car park and absolutely poured down. After sitting in car for 15 minutes it cleared and managed to get around the southern part dry and grabbing caches and the Ad Labs. Nice hide and matches theme nicely. Thanks for the cache.
Found it on 9-7-22 when I was on a walk.
Was a quick find with everything safe and dry.
Thanks again G-2.

After getting soaked in the Coromandel this morning, I decided to cut my losses and head back to AKL.
I had 2 hours before I need to get the hire car back, so headed here for the AL and an "Unfinshed Business" challenge cache nearby. I then discovered this little series so how could I refuse?
This one took time, the marker paint has faded, but once I realised which one of the 'needles in a haystack' was the important one, the cache was quickly spotted. TFTC G-2, another good one.

I spent the morning looking after the Grandkids while their parents worked from home. I dropped the kids off at daycare in time to have lunch then sleeps and set off to get todays geocaching targets.
I was hoping to grab a few puzzles, get the last two TMGT caches and head out towards the airport in plenty of time to collect my son at 6.30pm.
I was pleased as I achieved my goals and got 24 finds plus 2 labs for the day.
I parked up at 3.30pm and hoped I'd have enough time to do both sides of the island before dark. Got back from the other side at 4.30 and headed off this way after moving the car out incase I wasn't back before the gates got locked at 5.30. I walked right up to this one. No tipping rocks for me but I did go carefully. A suspicious pile of rocks and I had the cache in hand, lol. A very apt hide here, thanks

I almost didn't attempt this with the previous dnfs but I was here anyway, so thought I'd have a look. Plus something in the name made me think of another cache I recently found (it may have even been the same CO). After looking around and finding the obvious spot was empty, I expanded my search a bit. Saw something that made me think, so I checked it. Sure enough. Yep, that's it! Not surprised about the DNFs now. An FP from me.
Needed to get out and about today, and going bush was not really an option, so headed over to this area as it had been a while since my last visit.....
Parked near by and broke out the bike for a quick ride around the area....
Looked here on the way out and then on the way back....located the hint very easily, but was nothing to be found under the hint....many of what I assumed were hiding the cache appeared to have been pulled from under the hint....too good for me today....

Could not find a marker, so expanded the search area. In the end the coords were pretty good, so found some suspiciously concealing-looking rocks and found - some rubbish. Except, in the end, it wasn’t. Nice hide style, TFTC G2.
I decided to pop out here for a few caches on a fine but breezy afternoon. I had never been to Puketutu Island, even in the 8 years I lived in Auckland, and to be honest knew little about it.
But curiosity brought me here. That and a couple of target caches, a short Ad Lab, and plenty of trads. I enjoyed the different view of parts of the city, and the birdlife. Not too many issues, just the one DNF.

A not so mad day caching,.. but I certainly benefited! Out with Keylev and NZTravellers again. As they have all gotten most of the caches in this area, it was up to be to play catchup to these 2. They were feeling extremely charitable and I wasn't going to pass the opportunity up. Sure they used me for cache maintenance labour, but as long as I get to sign the logs, I don't very much care
I had a bit of help on this one as our raiding party member has done this before. I guess it's in the hint.

Out on a GC bike tour today to boost out numbers and clean up this area.

Hhmmm. A leather glove. A pink clothes peg. A wasp building a nest. And . . . Oh well, on to the next one. Failure.
Classing this as a dnf however we are pretty sure we got it - found a rock with a nail and a glove which references an earlier MJ comment but didn’t find a physical cache
With a nice precise and exact hint the cache was soon found, and alun was catching up after heading back to the car park to activate Ad Lab place 1.
Our weekend plans of a ride out to Raglan were put on hold as our son and his family needed to head down to Auckland due to family reasons and we were able to put them up for the weekend. With uncertainty around what we were doing for the Saturday I put aside any caching plans and awaited the outcomes. We ended up going to the CITO, I then got to hang out with CyclicalCaching and his partner for one path around part of the island, then around the other way with alunb. Managed to get quite a few of the caches around here before a trip out to Sylvia Park for some retail therapy.

Phew, haven't lost it completely, managed to locate this stinky one - nice stroll around an unusual area. TFTC

Found with nzanz, she was a bit creeped out opening this one. Great view at sunset! Tftc
Eww. This one was disguised well with all the trash around it! Light fading fast. On we go!
Its been 5yrs since I was last here when I logged a DNF. Back today & made the find instantly. Strange how that happens. Lovely views today, very hot without a breath of wind. TFTC
After a not-this-year-Mega-weekend, where we had gone to the tribute cache, chased crayons for a morning, found challenge caches, found TMGT caches, today was a bit of a Mangere and Puketutu hangout day.

Last day in Auckland for some of our Southland group, checked out of accommodation, had breakfast nearby, still time to grab some caches, concentrating not too far from the airport... no missing planes for us!
A Puketutu Island adventure on the cards so we headed off to find some caches and complete an AdLab.
Interesting camo, good hide/hint tftc

Great hint thankyou although Mr Squirrel had to point out the survey marker. In today's cold Southerly I think the little cache could use a hat and scarf too.
OMG, we found it and didn't know! Great disguise! We looked at gz and discarded the flotsom and moved on. Luckily we reviewed recent activities and it clicked! Now all safely restored. Tftc.
Can't say I've ever seen this as a cache before. Lol. By this stage we had now confirmed yes they were geocachers up ahead. Tftc

In Auckland for a few days for my daughters wedding this afternoon. Before she announced her wedding date, I had planned to get at least 96 caches of various types sizes and D/T ratings etc. to get my find numbers up to 101 and as my other leap day achievemnets as possible. However once she anoounced leap day as her wedding day I had to pare back my goals for the day to just finding 21 caches as quick as I could first thing in the morning. I chose this area for the concentration of caches. Unfortunately, being under time pressure, if I couldn't find a cache within a couple of minutes, I had to move on. This cache was soon found thanks to the hint. TFTC.

Got an hour or so to kill before our staff Christmas party in Manukau this evening, so figured I'd go find some caches! I'm a sucker for a good series so this seemed like a great option.
The series is starting to live up to its name at this point...
Took a little bit to find the rock in question, but once I did the cache was found at thumb point nice and easily. Love the camo, TFTC!

This is our second visit to new Zealand.... we love it!
For the first day and after a long flight from Europe, we decided to do a walk and look for some caches in this area before going on an adventure on the North Island.
Beautiful place not far from the city

Thanks G_2 for the geocache [^]

After thwarting my 3 year olds chances at finding the previous cache i set him up to win here - there's a lolly riding on finding it you see! Spotted the hint item and the cache was found quickly. Tftc, nice spot we chose to stop here for morning tea and enjoy the view for a while
A Guy was there setting up his fishing pole , I just told him I was looking for a survey marker, and he was like you are all good bro. I found the cache under the rock he was sitting on, he didnt notice what I was doing I dont think and/or bothered about it. Talked about fishing for flounder with him.

A lovely walk on Puktutu island. No problems finding the cache and stamped and returned. TFTC
Well hidden. Good clue though, gz found easily. Dragondefender enjoyed the rock walk to get near. Thanks
Running distraction with Huntsman 2015 while Nicnacnz does the finding. Nice work Nicnacnz.
Eventually found it. Saw what I thought was the survey marker... turns out it was a rather large bird poop. Oops. Once located the correct rock.. the cache with glovely camo was found. Thanks for the series!
The next one along on our route and we did it without tipping over.Spotted something that we thought might be it and then we were like how strange and got a bit concerned but were grateful that it was what we were looking for after all.a new type of find for us.loving the viewe and peice and quiet.
On a 24hr mission to Auckland with Philip.Perry and three of my kids started caching at about 3pm getting back to accommodation at 330am then up and back on the road for a xouple of hours before heading home. We decided we had three caches we had to find this mission then the rest was all about getting our numbers up so concentrated on a high cache area. Meet Sethraven just on dusk who helped us on a cache we couldnt find before she headed home so that was great. Really enjoy caching in Auckland at night no traffic and no muggles to get in our way. We only had a few DNF caches for the day which isnt to bad. Thanks to all th CO for the caches.
Had a cheeky Auckland Mission on the cards this weekend - just had to drop the family off in Pukekohe first and then meet up with Davidsonclan. We had a few caches on the list today but mainly this was just a numbers mission. A late start meant we'd be late to finish but 3am isn't too bad. There were some great finds and some grotty finds but cheers to the CO's and those that help maintain their caches. We didn't have any problems here - the cache was found quickly thanks to accurate coords and a straight forward placement. Cheers G-2, TFTC.

I think I disturbed the couple that were on the bench but I was on a mission and wasn't interested in them anyways . . . they moved off as soon as they saw me approaching the GZ . . . . . no idea what they were talking about as it was all foreign to me . . . . .no tipping rocks for me today . . . . . neat lil hide . . . . thanks G-2 for another smile on my face
Find number 4064. Having dropped a friend at the airport I was caching the area before heading home. I had done the other caches along this track some time ago but alas this one was unattainable at that time. A fisherman was sitting right at GZ so after a brief sit on the seat I decided to wait for another day. That is today. No one around so I search in peace. It was found quickly. I then looked at the view. While I could not see far is was interesting as the fog had come down again. Pleased to finally get the smillie for this one. Thank you for the placement.
Had some time before a friend of mine needs to go to the Airport so we decided to have a Little walk in this area. The weather showed us it's sunny side so we enjoyed the nice view and the Caches.
Haha funny idea, but cost me quite an effort to grab into it.
Thanks for hiding!

Really enjoying the walk along here today, fantastic views out to sea. It wasn't at all stinky - - thankfully. Loved the hide, thanks !
