Out for a day of activity on Puketutu - continued along the stinky trail and climbed over the rocks, because why not. Unfortunately I couldn't find this one. Ah well, can't win 'em all!
Spend ages looking in the wrong tree. Was just about to give up when my son found it. Cool hide. Tftc.
There were lots of trees in the area to check, but none of them revealed anything suspicious. I didn't want to disturb the area too much so we just decided to call this one and head back. GFTC
Big j found it after eye regenerated, found cool shaman stick, small d lost his arm for this
#467 If you stick around for long enough youll find this without too much issue
After the gross walk near to the previous cache we headed along the grass to this one and then ducked through the bush following a trampled down trail. We had an idea of what to look for, and where to look so it didn't take Daddypig long before he had the cache in his hand.
I was about to sign somebody's shopping list that had been left in the cache before picking up the actual log. Hopefully it will be a more pleasant walk to the rest of these caches.

We headed the wrong way a couple of times and had to re route ourselves. In this case the more direct way is actually not the best way. The cache is not quite at the base but is still easy to spot. TFTC #2400
With one eye on the gathering clouds I made my way around this side of the island. Managed to get back to the car before the rain came.
Had to look at options to get to GZ as the council was spraying the area. Managed to come in from the waterside. Thank you for the placement.

A nice quick find when I got to GZ. I kept away from the obvious track, still wet and muddy. Thanks for placing your cache.
I'm in Auckland and I am exploring the region while I am based here. Today was a lovely sunny day, I borrowed by bro's bike and cruised around some of the time. I had a great time.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

After getting some muddy shoes for Stinky 7, this one was a bit easier (though had to take a very zig-zag path to get there). Thanks!
A few hours to kill before having to pick up my daughter at Auckland Airport so headed over to Puketutu Island. Arrived at car park and absolutely poured down. After sitting in car for 15 minutes it cleared and managed to get around the southern part dry and grabbing caches and the Ad Labs. The Northern part was a bit wetter with having to dive for cover and wait a couple of times. Spotted it as came in from right angle. Thanks for the cache.
I spent the morning looking after the Grandkids while their parents worked from home. I dropped the kids off at daycare in time to have lunch then sleeps and set off to get todays geocaching targets.
I was hoping to grab a few puzzles, get the last two TMGT caches and head out towards the airport in plenty of time to collect my son at 6.30pm.
I was pleased as I achieved my goals and got 24 finds plus 2 labs for the day.
I parked up at 4.30pm and hoped I'd have enough time to do both sides of the island before dark. Headed off this way first. Checked a few teees out while my phone settled before spotting another great G-2 camo job. Thanks for another cache

Couldn't find last time I came here. Unbelievable, it's not hard at all.
So I am happy to be able to turn this into a smiling face today.
Log jumped on me when I opened the cache.

Needed to get out and about today, and going bush was not really an option, so headed over to this area as it had been a while since my last visit.....
Parked near by and broke out the bike for a quick ride around the area...

A not so mad day caching,.. but I certainly benefited! Out with Keylev and NZTravellers again. As they have all gotten most of the caches in this area, it was up to be to play catchup to these 2. They were feeling extremely charitable and I wasn't going to pass the opportunity up. Sure they used me for cache maintenance labour, but as long as I get to sign the logs, I don't very much care
Neat camo! Took a while to find! TFTC

Out on a GC bike tour today to boost out numbers and clean up this area.

Hey, there's an eyeball in it! I needed that before hand. Was just leaving as I spotted it. Thanks
Into a good rhythm now and soon had my hands on this, signed in as CCC. Replaced as found and on to the next stinker.
Our weekend plans of a ride out to Raglan were put on hold as our son and his family needed to head down to Auckland due to family reasons and we were able to put them up for the weekend. With uncertainty around what we were doing for the Saturday I put aside any caching plans and awaited the outcomes. We ended up going to the CITO, I then got to hang out with CyclicalCaching and his partner for one path around part of the island, then around the other way with alunb. Managed to get quite a few of the caches around here before a trip out to Sylvia Park for some retail therapy.

After the last stinky I thought I would have a better eye for this one but still took me a couple of passes to spot the obvious. Thanks Glynn TFTC

After being in the hunting party for the FTFs on the original Stinky placements, it’s about jolly time I came out to try to clear up the rest. This had me scratching my head for a while, but I extended my search methodically after an unsuccessful search at what I made GZ and eventually gave something a wiggle to see if it was attached and it wasn’t and there it was! Thanks for the stinky sticky cache!
Lots of base of had me going for a while, time short on my way home I was just about to give up when there it was.
Lol one of the recent geocachers may have left their grocery list behind. Usually it's pens. Tftc
Took us a while to get to gz after a wrong approach. A cheeky piwakawaka chased us through the bush. Sneeky hide!
Now that was sneaky - had to take a couple of approaches before I spied it ... but I got there. TFTC
Back up this way to get some smiles with EyespyBen

#7644. The family is up in Auckland visiting the relatives over New Year. There is only so much socialising you can do in one day. Especially when there is a heap of untapped geocaches in all directions from where we are staying. So after lunch I got the chance to head over to Mangere to enjoy the bird life at high tide on the harbour and pick up a few more caches. My last visit to Stinky 8 resulted in a DNF. This time I approached GZ from a different route and wandered up to the coordinates. Checked to see what the hint was again. Took two paces and there was the cache right in front of me. How can it be so easy one visit and so hard on another visit. Anyway signed the logsheet and replaced the cache as found. Thanks G-2's Bodyguard for the cache.
Decided to take advantage of the reasonably good weather and head out to complete Puketutu Island. Invited my youngest nephew to join me for some one-on-one caching. I gave him my GPS and let him be our navigator, which he thoroughly enjoyed. All up we located 20 caches, had 3 DNFs and walked 10km.
The GPS had us going back and forth, but perseverance paid off and we located the cache in a place we weren't really looking.

All I wanted for Christmas was to turn this blue face into a smiley. Our second visit here and again we found ourselves looking around the same places and not getting very far.Just as we were loosing hope we decided to look through some of the previous logs which provided us with a very handy hint.Continued our search and came up with what we were after a bit further away from where are gps was suggesting.Very happy to find this clever cameo.
This is our second visit to new Zealand.... we love it!
For the first day and after a long flight from Europe, we decided to do a walk and look for some caches in this area before going on an adventure on the North Island.
Beautiful place not far from the city.
Our eyes or our gps is not yet adapted to the places, we do not find the cache
---
Thanks G_2 for the geocache [^]
Greetings from Belgium,
Frank et Muriel
Happy geocaching

Our last one for today, Mr 7 who wasn't even really looking for this one but rather playing around stumbled onto this before mr 4 and me who had been diligently looking! Heard sirens going off nearby which i assume meant the wastewater was being pumped out and sure enough it was! Thankyou for the stinky series, its a nice location for a wander around even if stinky at times
Had a DNF on this one years ago. Back today to try again. Wandered along to GZ & very happy to make a nice quick find! A bit stinky here today so pleasedto move on. TFTC
Bevor ich die Heimreise antrete war noch Zeit für eine ausgiebige Cachetour Auckland. TFTC
Nice hide, very stinky! It all depends on your approach whether this one is easily found or not. TFTC!
I have been here twice before, both times at night, which probably didn't help...
However back today to get this and that blimmin Hide and Seek #21 nearby, thats been giving me trouble as well. I was determined to find this cache during the day this time. It was nice in the shade, and after a short search, I turned around and there it was right in front of me. Nice hide, TFTC

Found this on the way back from an FTF tonight. Took a few moments before I spotted it. Nicd hide. TFTC!
Spent ages looking for this one today but no luck.even with a rough idea the cameo is too well hidden
On a 24hr mission to Auckland with Philip.Perry and three of my kids started caching at about 3pm getting back to accommodation at 330am then up and back on the road for a xouple of hours before heading home. We decided we had three caches we had to find this mission then the rest was all about getting our numbers up so concentrated on a high cache area. Meet Sethraven just on dusk who helped us on a cache we couldnt find before she headed home so that was great. Really enjoy caching in Auckland at night no traffic and no muggles to get in our way. We only had a few DNF caches for the day which isnt to bad. Thanks to all th CO for the caches.
Had a cheeky Auckland Mission on the cards this weekend - just had to drop the family off in Pukekohe first and then meet up with Davidsonclan. We had a few caches on the list today but mainly this was just a numbers mission. A late start meant we'd be late to finish but 3am isn't too bad. There were some great finds and some grotty finds but cheers to the CO's and those that help maintain their caches. You never know what you're gonna get on a G-2 hide sometimes and this one we found quite challenging. After reading through the logs I was determined to keep looking and that perseverance paid off.... eventually. Cheers G-2, TFTC.

This was definitely my favourite of the day. I went round and round the various possible spots. As others have said, the coords are pretty much bang on. It was only once I got in just the right angle that I spotted the odd one out. Very nicely done. Thanks.
Is this one even harder to find than stinky-7? Then I'm out.... Searched for ages, no success and I finally ran out of time, I have to head home now. Sorry.
Well well well. 4 x DNF last logs. Almost no hope. Big players fails. After a bit of experience of CO hides decided do not give up so quick. And it was worth it Cache located after bit of serach. Coordinates bang on. Trust your device and hint will be useful too. Sneaky a`right. TFTC
Add me to the DNF's. Only a quick search as time was up and I need to go find a gas station to fuel up the rental car and catch my flight home. But did check around base of lots of trees. Maybe its missing. Maybe I was missing in action. Who knows. Thanks for the series.
Last search for me this morning but no luck here. Ran out of time cos I had to head off to work so will come back for this and #9.
A nice walk to GZ on a mild day, good to get out and find some caches
Joined the early morning caching trip to Auckland with Cats&Dragons, 11hpg11 and RWIMF with logs signed as HOLD (Hamilton Overachieving Latte Drinkers), reflecting that the frequent requests for a (hot) coffee stop on a cold & then wet morning threatened to outnumber caches lol. Then again, caching on a day when no-one else wants to brave the elements means muggle-free straight forward searching. Change of approach, with a bit of bush-bashing to avoid the rocks & stinky puddles on the way here, and nice to make another quick find Thanks for the cache.
Done Taking the high road to this one, rather than trying to navigate around the rocks. Yay, happy to see this one - nice quick find.
Out for a morning caching with Hamilton Overachieving Latte Drinkers, although we realised about half way through the morning only one of us could claim a Latte as our favourite caffinated beverage... We certainly spoke about hot drinks a lot on this trip as we froze in the cold weather. We left Hamilton at 5:30am this morning, and gave up when we were all sopping wet after several rain showers went over. Which was good - to collect over 40 caches, and still be home by 2pm! All logs signed HOLD to save space

Out and about today for an early morning trip to Auckland to clear out some caches. An early start for us meant we were a little low in caffeine and hot drinks were on our minds. Our team today consisted of Cats&Dragons, Kiwis69, RWIMF and myself and logs were signed as HOLD (Hamilton Overachieving Latte Drinkers) or informally known as Steve and the Harem. Our day was cut short by persistent showers and an early afternoon time limit set by those at home who must be obeyed but we still got in a good handful of caches.
A quick find here thanks, managed to get through with relatively clean feet

Gosh this one was really tricky for us. We looked and looked but just couldn't seem to come up with anything that fit what we thought we were looking for. GPS was a bit bouncy for us which may not have helped. In the end geowife came up with this one by really getting stuck into looking in every place it could be. When we showed me where she found it I was relieved that she had come along as I would have stood no shot of finding that. Very good as usual, great challenge, and we were pleased we stuck it out to find it. Thanks for the cache.
The stinky series has been fantastic for camo and this was no exception. After checking a few hiding spots unsuccessfully and almost giving up due to the mozzies a final check suddenly revealed the hiding spot. Thanks G-2.
Out on a ride with CC2XL. Just by chance we moved something that turned out to be a cache. Loved the hide so thanks.
