Time to archive now. That was great fun!

Great event, nice to meet some other geocachers. Spent with KH2ici as our first event

Belated realisation that I was supposed to log an attended . . . LOL

30-Nov-14
Mary & David were there. Mary was resting after her foot op, so we couldn't get to the dinner last night. David was able to attend the BBQ, however, although he arrived a little late. Still plenty of time to meet many old and new friends, trade a couple of pathtags, and generally enjoy the proceedings. A great afternoon, and very well organised. Our thanks to chooknchunk.

First to find, but not first to log this one! Love the mug and Beaufort the sheep (Beau for short) will be a trackable travelling with me! Another great opportunity to chat with fellow cachers. The shelter was a bonus on the warm day. Everything went very smoothly. Thanks chooknchunk. This was the perfect end of a wonderful weekend of caching.

A fantastic opportunity to say au revoir to some cachers and greet others for the first time during the First Beaufort Bash weekend of caching fun.

Sighted and logged 11 Trackables dipped 4.

Our appreciationand thanks to chooknchunk for organising such an outstanding weekend.

Found on a fantastic but hot day around Beaufort.
We always love the bush around the area and the opportunity to share it with the kids was great.
We really enjoyed the well stocked caches and now have a lot of new trinkets for the kids to play with.
A great time was had at this event. The hot weather sent us home to the Buninyong pool afterwards!
Thanks to chooknchunk for the great planning of this series and the event.

30-Nov-14
Found with Mum, Dad and Maeve.
I had my big bag of swaps (which is now almost empty) and loved going around the bush to find these caches.
Thanks chooknchunk for the great work in placing all of these caches!

30-Nov-14
Found with Mum, Dad and Eddie.
It was too hot for me to stay in the car for these caches so i had to help look for them. I had a really fun time.
Thanks chooknchunk for the great work in placing all of these caches!

We initially wondered if we had done the right thing by running a BBQ on the day after the dinner event. However the response on the day proved otherwise. We were absolutely delighted that caching teams came from far and wide to attend this event, especially those who were unable to attend yesterday's dinner.

The day was hot and there was only the one shelter, but it turned out to be just enough to cover all of us, as cosy as it was. We had so much fun chatting with old and new friends, and putting faces to names.

Congratulations to Misschief18 for FTF.

A big thank you again to the supporters of this event: Bunjil, Pyrenees Shire Council and Nards' kids for the swag. We managed to raise $212 for the Raglan CFA (over both raffles) - so thank you to everyone for coming along and supporting the raffles and the event.

Attended this event with all the usual suspects in tow. What a great chance to catch up again with people from last night as well as a few others who could only come today. Even though the weather was a bit toasty we enjoyed ourselves very much. Thanks for all your efforts leading up to and including this weekend. Well done!

30-Nov-14
Thanks for a great event. It was great to meet some experienced and some new follow geocachers, although we didn't get to stay and search for the finds you put out we will definitely be back again and can't wait to attend more of your events Smile Thanks Chooknchunk.

Another great gathering of like minded people today for the BBQ in Beaufort the last event of a big weekend. Many tales, stories and hints were exchanged today. A beautiful way to finish the weekend. I also came home with the mug I wanted woohoo. A job done in excellent style guys.

Another terrific event to top off a big caching weekend for me. This is my 31st find for the weekend.

Thanks for all the effort you guys have put in to the caches you have placed for this weekend and the two events you have run, they were both great. I was glad I was able to help out with my few contributions to the caches of Beaufort.

Thanks again for a terrific weekend Big Grin

We were there at 11:30 AM and left shortly after the speeches and giveaways. We arrived a bit early, but already there were a bunch of attendees there. The Co's were there and Glen tried to extort money from us in return for the camera that we forgot at the Bash event the night before [B)]
Familiar faces from the previous night were there and then new ones turned up - Romax, maccamob, McAddies, Alansee and suddenly the event was in full swing in the tight space - which kind of helps bring everyone closer.
Thanks chooknchunk for another great event.

This was a surprise visit for Missjane & I. As it turned out we where in Geelong for a double 60th party on the Saturday night. We pull up ok the next morning so we decided to make the short trip from Geelong to Beaufort. (1 1/2 hr drive).

It was good to meet up old friends and meet some new ones.
A thank-you for the raffle prize.
A well done to chooknchunk for organising this event.

'Found It (smiley)' attended your event

'Scrat' attended your event whilst on his Great Aussie Adventure.

Took TB's 'CROAKLESS' & '(Best and) FRIENDS' to move on.

One event under our belt for our ChooknChunk weekend at Beaufort, one more event today.
Beautiful weather for caching (thanks for arranging that!), but we were glad of some shade at lunchtime.
We spent all day around Beaufort doing all the new caches put out for this weekend.
After doing all the caches north of town in the morning, we came back in for lunch.
Another well organized event, even down to supplying extra deck chairs!
A small under shade area sure made for cachers mixing with each other Smile
Thanks for the two events and all the extra caches. It was a fabulous weekend.
Thanks, Robmc.

A great spot even on such a warm day - that shade was much appreciated. We had intended to cook on the barbie but neither of us was very keen so it was just cold drinks and then we headed off. A great group and it was nice to see some new faces arrive. Thanks for a terrific weekend Jo and Glen - hold it and they will come.

30-Nov-14
We were sorry to miss last nights event but today certainly made up for it for us.
Catching up with many geocaching friends, both long time and new, is always a most pleasurable experience.
Thank you Jo & Glen for selecting such a lovely venue and for arranging perfect weather.
Cheers,
from Romax.

# 7169. After doing the CH series and another sweep around to the North we arrive back here for lunch. A lot of people are here already and more soon arrive. With us all trying to get into the shade like sheep in a paddock sheltering under one tree, it made for a nice cosy and chatty atmosphere. This has been one great weekend so far and we are not done yet. More caching will follow this afternoon.

It has been lovely to meet up with new and old friends and acquaintences and it is good to see that all your hard work has paid off with so many arriving to do all the new caches in the area.

Thanks chooknchunk

Suscoe arrived here on a fairly hot mid day time slot for a delightful catch up with the gathered cachers.
As has been mentioned the cosy shade was well used and the opportunity for a chat was appreciated.
Thanks to Jo and Glen for this terrific weekend and today's event was a fitting way for it to end for us.
We have really enjoyed the range of caches placed by our hosts and we have a couple left for another visit which will be sooner than later.
Well done for a terrific two days.

30-Nov-14
Having gotten some supplies from the main road I arrived as the party was in full swing. The shelter was certainly appreciated on a warm sunny day and caching talk ensued all around.

It was nice to meet the CO's and many thanks to them for putting on this event, as well as meeting some cachers from various parts of the state.

Interestingly, later in the day I met a couple of very new cachers at Ultramaratioregis, who were from Ararat, and who had forgotten all about the event, and so didn't get there.

BTW I put a Geocoin in Ultra as well.

26-Nov-14
We will be there with our caravan, so most likely have our own BBQ operating Cool

26-Nov-14
Mary is still resting after her foot op, but David should be able to attend for a while.

25-Nov-14
We are looking forward to attending this event, sorry about the late notice.

24-Nov-14
Whoops forgot to log a will attend. Even though the CO knows we are coming. Will be there with kids in tow.

24-Nov-14
Wow what a great response! Awesome!

Everything is all good and ready to go. Did a final cache run check today - 27 in total, all sitting there, have weathered nicely over the past 2 months, but all bone dry inside and perfectly in place and waiting for those FTF signatures. We didn't see any nasties that had moved in in the meantime, but the weekend is forecast to be warm, so the normal precautions for bush caching should be taken.

There's rumour of a nightcache too (not ours). If things go according to plan, the caches should be available Friday afternoon sometime.

There will be a FTF prize and we have been fortunate enough to have had some nice little goodies donated that we will run a small raffle for - proceeds to go to the Raglan CFA. There will be a trackables table too.

For those coming up Friday - our BBQ on our decking at Raglan will be hot, so byo everything and email or phone us for directions. Very informal - not an event. 0423 493 052

Take care everyone and see you soon.

24-Nov-14
I am unable to attend as I planed due to car needing new brakes

04-Nov-14
will attend with SaharaH99

04-Nov-14
The Swaggies are looking forward to attending the BBQ before making our way home after that. So please book in for two adults for this event as well.

03-Nov-14
We will be there minus 1. We won't be able to attend the night before event but we are looking forward to finding some of the new caches. Thanks for organising the two events Chooknchunk.

21-Oct-14
Seeing BettyBoo3747 and I will be hitting the turps the night before, we had better come out for the lunch too. (Unless you have put out too many new caches for us to do?) Smile
Thanks, Robmc.

21-Oct-14
For anyone thinking of attending this event, we have just found out that pretty much all of the regular accommodation in Beaufort has been snatched from under our noses to house all the workers on the new Beaufort to Ararat freeway. There are currently (as of tonight 21 October) 7 rooms available at the Golden Age Hotel (ph 5349 2499 - but book asap) and I am waiting to hear back from the Beaufort Hotel. There are powered sites at the Caravan Park (but do mention the geocaching weekend to get these). And we are hosting some free camping on our property too. If you are really stuck, please contact either Jo (chook) or Glen (chunk): [email protected] or Jo's mobile 0423 493 052

On the fun side - there are currently 25 caches already out there, weathering, approved and ready to be released at some time on Friday afternoon (no set time can be guaranteed). And a couple more still in the wind. Not all around town though - make sure your maps cover surrounding localities. All caches are accessible by 2WD.

21-Oct-14
I'll be there. Thanks for all your planning and organisation. 1 x Adult, and looking forward to it.
