Logs
I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in the last reviewer note.
Hi DanielHurri
This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.
Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.
Regards

Add another DNF to the list. Had a good look around based on the past few found logs, but nothing found for me.
Hunted all over but couldn't find on this very busy and narrow road. Look out for stinging nettle here!
Thanks RogerWnz1 for replacing container (see previous log). A gorgeous valley to explore! Lots of interesting history too
#1107. Having watched my grandson play a football match at nearby Granada North Park, and headed up for my first trip up Takapu Road, time to collect some caches. Grabbed boxhill's Odyssey one, looked at Transmission Gully progress, and headed down.
The one is certainly lived up to its hint, and has been noted, is in pretty poor condition. So, having read previous logs, I came prepared and replaced the rusty old Eclipse tin with a camoed plastic marmite jar. The log is ok, having had previous finder refresh it, so popped it in the new cache. Hidden away in the same place.
Tftc DanielHurri - a shame you appear to have abandoned caching. Perhaps you should adopt out your remaining caches.

Well ..... spent 5 min wandering around waiting for the GPS to settle ..... only to find it literally one metre from the car door! Once found the hint made sense but the hint object as among the oldest we have ever seen!
Log was full so stuck in an additonal waterproof replacement.

After unsuccessfully looking for #2 in the series we headed on up the road and found tis one. As others have mentioned it is in a rather fragile state but I was able to sign the log. We’ll have to come back for another try at #2. TFTC
Was out caching with my 4 year old and accidentally navigated to this one. Was supposed to have been doing the larger ones. Cache container very rusted and hard to open and cache log full of water. I didn’t have anything on me to fix up sorry. Could not sign log. See pics
Out for a peak at the Transmission Gully progress, with Mr JoggIn. The Cannons Creek curved bridge is taking shape nicely.
Searched for a while for this cache, and having read the recent DNF logs along with GPS signal leaping about all over the place had all but given up. One last scrabble revealed the treasure.
Tin was awash and rusty, and plastic bag open and full of rusty water. Luckily the log paper was waterproof. We dried it out as best we could, signed it and moved on to the next cache. TFTC.

Heading up to see the progression of Transmission Gully
Stopped to find this series on the way.
No luck for me here today

No problem finding the cache. The log is very full and it's getting hard to find a spot to sign. TFTC
Found it with Ethnz and signed RE for both of us. While we were there we rescued a lamb that had got itself stuck in the fence. Feeling good!
Caching with RosalieNZ so signed RE. Rescued a lamb which was stuck between the gate and gatepost. Talked quietly to it and was able to extract it before opening the gate to let it join its Mum and sibling -first time I have carried a lamb and thankfully it wasn't wriggling. After that, the cache was easily found. TFTC
Just as well no one up at the house whilst cachers scrabble about at their gate. The log is pretty well full and container rusty. Suggest replacing with something a bit more durable. TFTC
Quick find with great hint.
Logsheet almost full - I had a squeeze a log in a small space and there are only a couple more spaces.
Thanks for another smilie

I don't seem have logged a previous DNF for this but this is, in fact, my second time here. I don't know why this cache has the "parking available" attribute because you can't park here. I'm sure people stop ("stand") in front of the gate where there is a bit of space but that's not "parking". Instead of doing that I parked about 200m up the road where there is somewhere to park properly. I didn't encounter any cars on my walk to and from the cache site although there is enough shoulder to walk on without there being too much issue if I did.
After spending quite a while searching for this I eventually found it in a logical place (and in a place I sort of looked before). For some reason I had it in my head that I was looking for a small cache rather than a micro which is why I didn't find it more quickly.
I don't really understand the rationale for putting a cache here but nevertheless I'm glad to have it ticked off. TFTC.

TFTC. Took 2 attempts to find this. When we went back the second time before heading home it was in plain view.
After finding the Ridge and Gully view track closed for lambing (15/8- 30/11) we had to make do with these caches on the road. Nearly opened the car door in this one.

It took me a little while to locate this one. The hint object is not the obvious one across the road! TFTC
What a little beauty, TFTC! We were on the wrong side looking at the wrong old wire fence!
A quick lunch time park and grab today to fill a dot day. Thanks for the cache.

Not sure why any of these are "kid friendly". There is nothing for them to find and the road is narrow and dangerous. Sorry, but my person recommendation is leave the kids at home. Thanks for the cache. Did with Mycro Man who wasn't impressed.
Third of four caches in the Takapu Valley on the Sunday afternoon of Labour Weekend. Straightforward find. #859. TFTC.
A visit to Takapu Road. Planned for some time, today offered up the opportunity.
This is a narrow and quite well populated rural road. This makes cache hunting challenging.
The further up the road I went the more certain I became that my next visit would be by cycle.
A straightforward find ensued once I positioned myself at GZ.
Cache found to be in order; log signed. Cache re-hidden safely, just as found.

6989. Edging closer to 7000. Drove up roads never knew existed. An easy find once we found a park. Thanks. Rodney and Iris.
Due to the flooding on the 14/5/2015 parts of this road have been washed away/damaged. It is also likely that some of the containers along this road. I am temporarily disabling all caches until I am certain that the containers and the road are in good condition.
Took a quick drive up Takapu Road today to collect some more of the caches that have sprouted up along here. A quick find.

Found quickly this afternoon, used the hint as the coordinates weren't dead on. The new waterproof logsheet is fine. These containers, though popular, are not waterproof at all and logsheets need to be in decent sealed protective bags - this one wasn't. Signed log, TFTC
A quick easy find. The logbook was mush, so we added a waterproof log sheet. TFTC
I always enjoy driving along roads like this when out caching. Finding the cache was a fairly quick affair. It was wet inside the container but the logsheet is in fairly good condition.
I was out to find another multi up this road and had time to stop for these traditional caches today. TFTC
#504. A nice easy park and grab on a very narrow country lane. An interesting valley to visit so good to have a few caches up here to encourage city slickers out into the countryside. TFTC Daniel
Nice day to be out finding caches tftc. Drpped my pen so please forgive the scratching.
A quick and easy park and grab while attempting to clear out the new caches up this road. TFTC
Out doing some last minute chores and I thought I'd do a small detour and nab this one while out. Quickly found in the second placed looked. TFTC
A quick find while driving the narrow road. Met a couple of cars coming the other way and quick reflexes were required due to these vehicles cutting the blind corners. Stopped and said hello to some horses. TFTC
A quick find for my cache a day, thanks! Think I'll leave the rest along this road for another time
Quick drive up road to get this log book very wet. Dried it out as best I could and put it in plastic bag Owner may like to check this out over holidays. TFTC
#5999. The road was fairly quiet after dinner today. We searched initially in the wrong area. Once at the right spot, it was a quick find. Looking forward to #2 of the series. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log. Thanks for the cache.

Got really lucky as 2 new caches published just as I was leaving Waikanae so got 2 FTF's on the way out for dinner with Just-Lookin and Princess Emily.
Had just arrived when this one was listed so we went out, but not really expecting to get there first.
A good result and the cache was soon located at site.
SL Thanks DanielHurri
