Placed in 2014 and found over 160 times. The Fruit & Veges around the loop are now pretty deteriorated, no longer water proof & generally quite gross - No longer bright, crisp and fun to find. A lot of new houses around the road now too. Time to archive the series....(cache has been removed)....
I much prefer red onions to brown or white. They don't keep as well. This one has turned white! Tftc
thanks for the placement, we have been loved travelling and visiting the roads of Christchurch and the many caches each CO has taken the time to place, thank you for taking the time to place and maintain them.
I wanted to get out of the house and round up a few caches nearby in the sunny afternoon, and I had a great time! TFTC!!
Same as last one could not find it was really hard when the Area is so overdone that it's impossible to find!
Dead seagull near site :/ not great but not much you can do I guess. Great little spot for a cache though
Dead seagull near gz. Found tucked around the back. On a 11 day caching trip around the south island. Log signed as b&p.Tftc Team_Gaters & TheWanglers. Find # 3332
After the CITO event at Woodend Beach, we took the scenic route back to Christchurch to find a cache or three .
I'm not sure the onion could be described as "red" any more, it looked more like a white onion! I suppose a couple of years weathering does that. TFTC.

#13070. The cache was beside the hint object rather than in it, but it seemed nice and secure where we found it, so that's where it got put back. TFTC.
Having got a section close by, thought we should find some of the local caches. TFTC!!!
Today we enjoyed picking up caches from the lolly scramble trail, the fruit and vege trail, the cust trail and other various caches around the area. We found 50 caches altogether and had a great day. Caching with Injeanious and theBurnsy we signed the log books as JeJeBu to save time and space. Thanks to the cache owners for placing and maintaining the caches! Sorry for the cut and paste logs.
It's been a slow couple of months for me and Jess.daphne, so we decided to team up with The Burnsy and get a whole lot of caches. We headed off to pick up more of the Lolly Scramble, Fruit and Vege, and Cust trails, signing the logs as JeJeBu. We had a great day and grabbed 50 caches. Our best day yet! Thanks to the COs for the caches.
She's a bit faded, I thought it was a turnip! Tftc.

Headed out for a day of caching with Mr. Kiwi, to celebrate my 30th tomorrow. We had planned originally to nail our 400th - but the effects of both recent celebrations and real life in general meant we decided to cruise through the lolly trail, fruit and vege loop and whatever else came our way. It was a great day out together, and we were grateful to the cache owners who take the time to set up and maintain their hides.
So to you all, TFTC!

Cache time.
Busy with reno's all day, but there were a few tasks that only hubby could do. So I left him with those while I went out to find some caches and go grocery shopping!
Was a quick easy find here - mmm, I love red onions!! Though the object did look a bit more like a turnip to me!! Perhaps the red has peeled off!!

When we did the first caches of this series we decided to grab the rest on our bicycles. Today was a beautiful day and with all caches quick finds the breaks were shorter than expected (and needed by parts of our team). A great loop, thanks for placing them all. TFTC
After a few days staying with family in Chch we started heading north again and with no family commitments we focused on finishing the Lolly Scramble trail and hunting down the horses 101 series. The day also included a few other caches with our tally for the day being 92.The logs were signed HZ+HM, H+H, or on some case with our full names.
Thank you to all the cache owners for making this possible.
Thank you to all the cache owners for making this possible.
It was a combination of holidays, family visit and caching. Since our last visit lots of trails have appeared and there were many puzzles to be solved. And a lot of trads thrown in for good measure. We almost forgot what it's like to be cut, scraped, prodded, pricked, bruised and stabbed by the large variety of hedges you can find caches under in Canterbury. We were not deterred and it was fun to find them. On our way home again and trying to find as many caches as pos. In the end they made us stay another night in the area Thank you Team Gaters
Moved to the Swannanoa district in June 2015, about time I checked a few GC’s out in the hood. Found it while taking a roundabout drive to Kaiapoi. Had the GZ to myself, although a few vehicles whizzed past they were all too busy to notice what 1eyednbf (1 eyed and proud of it) was up to, mmmm Red Onion, one of the nicer tasting onions quite mild, great in a salad. TFTH (catching up on logging my finds)
cruising around north of the Wimak. did some 30+ boxes. nice series here.
easy find. Thanks
easy find. Thanks
Decided that on my last day of my holiday I'd do a blitz in the area before I fly home tomorrow, now a very tired bunny!
The skinless onion has been located and logged. Crood Ls 2nd find of the day. Tftc
Came out with wee dude on a fruit and vegetables maintenance run.
Straightened out log. New plastic bag. All good.
Ha-ha...just a ball of polystyrene now - how's all the 'skin' come off??! Weird. Log all good though.

This was my second visit to Christchurch in as many weeks, a fortnight ago I flew down for the Mega event with my family in tow, this time I was down to attend a conference held at the school of Education. My wife generously agreed to allow me to stay an extra day (and night) to explore the city and do some Geocaching. I made the most of the opportunity and found just over a hundred caches during my visit. Having already completed the ‘cutlery’ series earlier in the day nearby I decided to soldier on and find some Geocaching sweetness by having a crack at the Lolly Scramble series with the odd detour such as this one. No problems finding this appropriately camoed container. TFTC.
Today was allocated to be the day to do a run up South Eyre Rd to sample all the different lollies. Also to sign off other trads that were in/on the way.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
[green] Out with Hanknstone, Haydn.seek and thestepahine on an awesome 200+ day. We managed to get 210 caches in 11 hours, an average of 3 minutes each. There were a few awesome caches out there, but mostly it was a blur. Thanks to all the cache owners, and my apologies about the cut and paste!
Hanknstone, Haydn.seek, the Seagnoid and I had a challenge of doing 200 caches in a day. We started at 7:30am and finished around 8:00pm with a total of 200+. Apologies for the copy and pasting of the logs but there were so many we found that it would take so long to write them all up individually! Thank you for the find.
The next on our 210 run finding caches for the day with our team of four- HHSS. Working as a team each doing diff. roles we were able to speed up the find rate quite well and we managed to do about the first 100 with no Did Not Finds but after that the distances increased and the find rate dropped but we still managed to finish the day with 210 cache. The seagnoid has planned etc our route so it was all efficient Thank you to The Seagnoid for this pre work and thank you to the different cache Owners for these great, interesting caches. I just ;loved the huge chupps chup and all the veges and fruit. . Thank you for the cache and another smiley face.
This one made my eyes water. Well, the sudden pickup in wind from a locals geomobile. TFTC.
I came back to Christchurch for Mega 2015. Many for a great time and of course the cache
# 921 - During the Mega time to undertake a trail (or 2... ) with Rhyssa6 and Triciac2. Love to combine the healthy with the unhealthy!

After doing a few more on the nearby lolly trail we decided to head up this way and do some fruit and veggies for a change.

Really - two veges that I don't like to eat and have found today. Onions and cabbage give me the same problem when eaten so be warned never give them to me to eat or suffer later.
Out and about with Team FARKIS (fmz, alpenmilch80, rosmar, kiwi.bug, indianajill, slieschke) finding a great mix of cache hides and cache containers. What a mad bunch of cachers to be with, loads of fun and games with very little sleep over the 3 nights of the MEGA TFTC.
Out and about during the mega event with Team FARKIS (fmz, alpenmilch80, rosmar, kiwi.bug, indianajill, slieschke). This was one of the caches we found during the weekend. TFTC!!!
Our team for the Mega weekend was signing as VYV (Vamber, Yorkshirekiwi83 and Vistra). we found quite a few in the short space of time we were together, where I can I will make comments about the cache. We had teamed up back in Auckland and had been busy planning what we were going to target and in what order, of course plans changed even more so when we were down here, but that is part of what makes it fun and I had a great time over the weekend, thanks to all the CO's for placing.
Well themed caches and a great trail, quick find TFTC

Out hunting today with Team FARKIS (FMZ, Alpenmilch80, Rosmar, Kiwibug, Indiana Jill & Slieschke). Enjoyed my time out and a lot of laughter’s with this crazy bunch collecting geocaches all around CHCH. TFTC
#2020 Found with nic-jay while down for MEGA. Decided to head to the end of this road and head North collecting the caches on this stretch. Bumped into team FARKIS as they were leaving 'cherries' and ended up following them right up to pumpkin. It was easy to work out where to stop next Onion looking a bit worse for wear. TFTC!
Returned to the rest of the Lolly Scramble Trail today to clean up some of the remaining caches we missed yesterday, accompanied once again by vistra and yorkshirekiwi83, on a big numbers mission while visiting Canterbury for the Christchurch Mega Event.
No crying over onions here today. Thanks for the hide!

Day 3 in Christchurch and I again teamed up with yorkshirekiwi83 and vamber for another big day of caching. We signed the logs as "VYV" to save time and space on the logs. We made an early start to the day as we knew we would be going for 200 caches. We started with the Lolly Scramble caches (which we had begun the night before) and made our way up to Oxford, before returning to Kaiapoi and working on the Horses 101 series, finding a number of other caches along the way. Apologies for the generic logs, but thank you to all the cache owners for placing these caches!

On a geoholiday road tripping to Christchurch MEGA and around beautiful New Zealand. Our four people group (temyllyl, laalaa, kapeka and myself) from Finland used group tag FIN to log the caches.
Welcome to MEGA Finland in 5-7 august 2016!
Rest of the horses 101 caches in the morning and some fruits and lollies and some more for breakfast. TFTC!
Welcome to MEGA Finland in 5-7 august 2016!
Found it with Team FIN [janahola, kapeka, laalaa & temyllyl]
We had fun with caching few weeks here in New Zealand. Lots of geocaches and many sort of them too. We saw awesome places, weather was pretty good all the time and people were friendly and polite. Caches were pretty similar like in our home country. Of course there were some exeptions. Nice and really scenary country!
Greetings from Finland

Nihth day on our geo-roadtrip in New Zealand, and caching our way towards south. Logged using our group nickname FIN with janahola, laalaa and kapeka. We made it to Christchurch, so now it is time to do some caching!
An epic day of caching today, out to achieve 200+ finds in a day while I'm in Christchurch for the Mega event. There was also the lure of a virtual cache down in Peel forest, which isn't really that far from the numbers game along Thompsons track. A great day out and about, revisiting places I haven't been in years, and finding new places along the way. I teamed up with Capperz and Nightowl19 at 0600 in Rolleston, and off we headed in my cache mobile and general all purpose off road land rover. We signed the logs primarily as G C N to save space and time. Sorry about the cut and paste logs, but with over 200 caches to log it's going to take me a while to catch up. A nice series this,T F T C
Off to the Mega this weekend and a 2 day pass has been granted for Geocaching purposes. It being a long weekend and all there was definitely a plan to get some caches and keep the numbers ticking along. Finished work at 12.00 and waited for the accompanying nightowl19 to finish her school morning. Pick her up and back home to get changed and a bite to eat before heading down the line. There's an event in Rangiora that we'd like to attend and we need to check into our accommodation. All interspersed with few caches too. Today is the planned 200 plus in a day, to be followed by as many types in a day on Sunday, then back home Sunday arvo. Quite the whistle-stop tour. Weather played fair, we ate take aways all weekend. . . . . . . . . . . shameful parenting, and had a great time. Even got to cache with G H 6 7 1 0 too, bonus. We set off at 0600 and were all done by 2000 so not toooo long a day. A few hundred kms driven by G H and in the comfort of his 4 x 4 too.
To all the COs that placed these caches many thanks for facilitating this epic journey and (normally difficult caching target. In Marlborough I've already done so many so big numbers days are nigh on impossible without having to travel out great distances. Most logs were signed G C N being an acronym of our combined caching names. We replaced around half a dozen which were plainly missing on Thompsons Track which will surely help those who follow us.

Out with sharkiefan for a few hours of caching to find the caches that we missed by heading overseas. It was a busy, but beautiful morning. Then off to the mega! Cheers for the cache.
Found during the Mega weekend on bit of a tiki-tour around the Canterbury back blocks. Great weather, great caches, great fun! Thanks to all the cache owners for putting out and maintaining caches for us to find. All in all, a fun road trip with Boxhill and Yeetrees, we signed many of the logsheets as YGB to save both time and logsheet spaces.

Found as part of the Dunedin Caching Crew (DCC), enjoying the Christchurch NZ Mega.
First full official day of the Mega long weekend we (Dunedin Caching Crew - DCC) hit the road and went for a drive to log as many caches as we could.
Loved the series.

In town for a “Mega” weekend of caching. I joined up with Yeetrees and gonefishing to form Team YGB. I really enjoyed exploring the country roads of Canterbury. We travelled a fair few Kilometres in the 4 days we were here, and had a great time, with a lot of laughs along the way. Good weather, and good company. It doesn’t get much better than that does it.
Thanks to all the CO’s for all the caches we found.

Found with L4TB (the reunion tour). We set off to finish what we started a few years ago. Nearly 2 years has seen an influx of caches in this area. I selected the remaining Lolly Scramble caches and The Fruit and Vege loop specifically for today's task. A few extra ones tossed in along the way. We went from 9am til 3pm and then headed over to the Mega. All caches were good fun and we had a lovely day. Tftc
Found today during our tour of the area local to the Mega. A glorious NZ afternoon to be out caching. The Chief miss stepped and was almost hip deep in a hole, oops.
Out caching with the Dunedin Caching Crew (logging under DCC). Thanks for the variety of caches on this trail - most excellent.

Day 2 of my New Zealand caching tour in the lead up to the NZ mega, and the day started out nice and early to finish off the horse series, and find a few others along the way. Another fruit and veg cache in between horses, and once at GZ, the cache was soon located.
