Found this one the day it was disabled as I was unable to reach the log since it is jammed. TFTC
Over in the city for work and dropped off my freight and found myself alongside the site of an Adventure Lab series, nice. Did the walk through the cemetery grounds and fired up the Geocaching app, ah - there's a traditional not very far away as well, nice one. Headed to the paths end and hopped the fence and soon arrived at GZ. Opened my eyes for potential sites and one place looked good and yielded the unusual container, I was pumped to find it so quickly. Added my name and replaced as found and picked a slightly better route back to the car.
What a strange container. TFTC, found without difficulty but replacing it was harder. The coords were about 10m out for me.
Finally a use for my apprentice other than carrying me up hills - their first find. TFTC
Nicely done cache!
Definitely haven’t seen this container type before!
Thanks for the fun!

Returned to Auckland Domain today and in spite of the threats of rain it was brilliant sunshine and even hotter than yesterday.
Found this on our way back to town.
Thanks for the cache!

About 3 years ago I looked for this and knew what I was looking for but blowed if I know why I didn't find it at the time. It was exactly where I thought. Silly me! Thanks for the hide.

My only weekend in New Zealand i spent in Auckland and suburbs to discover some interesting places and of course to look for some geocaches. Despite I'm in a city here, the GPS signal is much better than in e.g. Brisbane. So at least one barrier less compared to the last two weeks in Aussy. It was (still ongoing) a hard day with more than 20 kilometers walked. I'm tired but happy to find so many geocaches.
Many thanks to all owners for hiding and maintenance their caches!

Attending a conference nearby and managed to find my way to GZ and the container. The unscrew part is broken and nothing inside. Should have taken a log with me but only had a pen. Will message the CO
While I was signing the log book I guy rode past and asked if I was ok - nice little ride today - nice container.

#889. As the closest unfound cache to my house since I solved some of the harder puzzles around, I thought today was finally the day I should get this one. I grabbed the nearest Lime scooter and headed over.
I knew where the entrance to the cycleway was, so I had no problem. I remember when this section of cycleway opened, at first it was bikes only and pedestrians weren't allowed, I thought that's typical of Mayor Len Brown and his unusual thinking. Fortunately he saw sense and allowed pedestrians on the cycleway also.
I had read the logs for this cache before so I knew what to expect, although that was a while ago and I had completely forgotten! But it didn't take long to find the outer object nor the log. I signed myself in as NZS1 in space 21... the log is completely full.
Thanks for the cache!

Certainly took my time with that one, I love it! Finished an exam and figured I'd catch a cache or two on the bike back. Almost didn't figure it out.

Ingenious!!! Nobody was about, thanks to stinky weather so we were able to take our time. Log book full, squeezed a name onto number 10 for now. Thanks!!
Found as a part of a previous group TanjackMüley, aka WanderingSparrow. Now I'm continuing on my own. TFTC
I have been meaning to come and find to come and find the caches along this cycleway for awhile now, but being quite time poor I haven't had the time to walk along here. Today, however my 2 hour class was cancelled because we had a test that night. I had already spent plenty of time studying, and needed to take a break. I decided to leave early from Auckland Uni and head to the gym across town. This cycleway just so happened to take me from one place to another. I zipped along the cycleway on my recently purchased electric scooter.
At GZ I pulled my scooter out of the way, off the path to search. I located the cache in the first place I looked. Thankfully no muggles passed by, although I did have the perfect ruse. This was a very cool cache and I'm glad that I have finally found it!

Found ... Mrs McMike2012 & I decided to go for a walk in and around the Auckland CBD ... thought we'd follow the cycleway & walk the 'light path' ... picking up a couple of caches in the process ... this was an easy find, log completed & cache returned ... gets a favourite point from us ... TN:LN:SL ... TFTC ... #1,661 for us.
Still working hard on the Creation Carnival (for souvenirs) so as I needed to collect the littlest Dragon from the airport later this morning I headed up early with Mrs Dragon to collect a few caches in the hope that I could gain a few extra points for the challenge.
Also a good chance to grab some caches that have a few favorite points and to see what it is all about.
Left home at 5.30am with Mrs Dragon in tow and headed north, as we drew closer to the CBD the weather took a turn for the worse and in pelting rain (thankfully had a coat in the back of the car) quickly made the find in the dark. Left Mrs Dragon in the car to dissuade any lingering parking peoples because I hear that they lurk to find unsuspecting geocachers.
A quick walk down here in the rain avoiding the homless peoples sheltering from the rain under the over bridges, thankfully far enogh from GZ to be useful. Glad I wasn't hear during a normal rush hour day as the share amount of traffic noise was deafening.
Thanks for putting together a nicely designed cache.

Stopped here on the way home from working nights to collect our daily cache. Early Sunday morning so no issues getting a car park close to the cycleway's entrance. This took longer to figure out than it should have. Almost gave up but got there in the end which was a relief. Daily cache sorted. Most likely got some strange looks from early morning cyclists that rode past. One nice person did say good morning. TFTC Fav point given.
We thought we had it but the bike pump faked us out (we think). Tried to "unscrew it" but failed. A little tired by this point, so that's our excuse for not continuing the search.
Like others I approached through the cemetery. I got distracted by a bike pump at GZ and looked no further. Grrr.
I went through the cemetary to reach the hide. Then a short fence climb to get the cache. Thanks
Day two in Auckland and the weather isn’t looking any better than yesterday, in fact it looks like it’s going to get worse. However, the silver lining is that the Christmas Parade has been cancelled due to the inclement weather so I won’t have to deal with the expected crowds of people now.
Out and about early and managed to nab myself another Limey for my geo-mobile this morning. Not the best wet weather transport but beats walking. Such fun!
Decided to get some respite from the rain as it was only getting heavier so I went to the movies for a couple of hours. On my return to the outside world, the rain had cleared and the sun was out! Off to find my next ride!
A quick detour off my route but for a cache that is always worth it. Another quick find of a nicely themed cache.
Visited Auckland City Centre for GIFF 2018. Had some spare time before the Event so decided to do some caching in the area. The most difficult was how to get there so I did the route by graveyard ....... Anyway when arrived at GZ , located kind of hiding spot and had something in my hand. Hmm it is good idea in case you might need it here. Replaced as found and continued my search for cache. Hmm. Went back to the item I had in my hand and did one more closer look and here you are! FP!
Yup, only one likely hiding place, but the hide itself didn't leave me with a deflated feeling.
Much faffing around whilst I extracted the log, trying to look nonchalant whilst cyclists cycled by.
Got there in the end.
Thanks for the fun

This one was an easy find that almost had us fooled - managed to open it in to reveal the log. FP awarded for a well themed cache.
Been meaning to come up this cycleway for years. Today I’m chasing park n’ grabs leading up to my 6000th cache and I have my e-bike in the back of my car. So perfect opportunity to get this one today. Started at the bottom and made my way up, passing a few ‘normal’ cyclists who struggled up the hill. Got to GZ and knew straight away where the cache would be. Yepp… there it is. When I opened up where it was hidden, I smiled… very appropriate for me and my e-bike! Nice one Simon.
Dear Cache Owners,
I am a German guy who stays in New Zealand for eight months.
My English is not perfect, so please don't wonder if my log entries sound a bit strange. Thanks!

After playing on the table Tennis competition nearby, I had some time so I decided to use the wonderful weather to look for some Geocaches.

On our last day in NZ, I walked a little bit through Auckland. On my way back I took the cycle way - without realizing that there was no side road until Upper Queens
So it took a little longer to reach the hostel, but as a compensation I found this nice cache
TFTC and greetings from Germany, Sibuk

Out doing a bit of caching today but dont think the weather is going to be very kind to use.would like to go for a cycle along this path one day but will wait for nicer weather.found in the first place we looked but wasnt sure this was it so continued to search around a bit.went back to the original location and did as the hint suggested to reveal and sign the log.great container.suitably placed.
I'm working in the city nearby and its also a dot day so keen to get a cache. Not sure if a bike is compulsory here I made my way down the short track from the upper Queen St end. Its actually a bit deceptive here as the bike track goes under Symonds St. No worries though as GZ soon found on foot and a very funny cache item found. TFTC
Quick find while out on a lunchtime run around the Grafton Gully and pink cycle paths. Nicely done - thanks!
We have been meaning to look for this one for a while now and today Mr Coblet was in the area at lunchtime and decided to detour down the cycleway and have a look.
The geogods were being kind as there were no muggles around during the entire finding, signing and returning process but as soon as the cache was safely rehidden three cyclists and a jogger went past. Perfect timing.
What a great hide, very unexpected and a great idea.
Thanks slieschke for providing some lunchtime excitement. Well deserving of a favourite point.

Out and about for a walk after work. I've not been on this cycleway before now. Once I worked out how to access it, it wasn't too long before I was at GZ. Had a bit of a look around and then inspected the most likely object and that's where the cache was. Nice and appropriate container container. All good here. TFTC, Biggles.
If I had read the hint about the unscrewing I might have possibly found it. Maybe next time I'm in Auckland I'll have time for another look.
Only my 2nd cache in NZ and what a clever one! The clue makes absolute sense once you've found the cache. Definitely worth a 'favourite' TFTC
Last night in Auckland so Cached and I decided a midnight caching expedition was in order - climbed a couple of fences in our best clothes to get to this one via the cemetery, ok last cache for the night, back to the hotel, headed down the bike path, nah let's short cut through the cemetery again, over another fence, scrambled down a steep hill, fell into a creek, slid down a few slopes including a very graceful belly slide, over and under ever thickening fauna, finally emerge under the bridge, phew, no, trapped in a building site that we had to break out of - certainly made for a very memorable night, and one the hotel laundry staff may not appreciate, and I will always miss my favourite pair of jeans
Many thanks slieschke from the Wacky one
Many thanks slieschke from the Wacky one
Fought our way through the cemetery, nearly 1am in our finery.
Then tried to shortcut back off the bike path to our nearby hotel. That wasn't a great plan. Wacky fell in a creek, and our business attire wasn't suited to the terrain we fought our way through. Reminiscent of the jungles of Vietnam. Finally we clambered out through a nearby building site and into the hotel.
Two pairs of shoes to the bin, along with one pair of jeans which had split.
A memorable night!

I was up in Auckland this week attending a conference so took the opportunity to do some geocaching while I was here.
I got to the GZ and had a look around. I thought I had found something secret and that I was privvy to another world, but it turns out that I had actually found the cache, but needed the hint to understand how to access it. Very sneaky and clever, especially as it still works as its original purpose. TFTC+Fav

On a grey morning I went for a morning walk from the hotel to get this cache. At first I had problems finding a suitable access to the area, but after a while that was sorted out. The cache was then soon found, the log signed and I on my way back to the waiting breakfast.
I only had a little bit of time before work this morning to grab a cache and while this is one of the closest remaining to my office (as the crow flies) it is not easily accessible from my office. So I parked nearby early this morning and took a walk. Thankfully there weren't too many people around on the path so I was able to make the grab with no issues. The container is very apropos for the location and I had a good laugh when I pulled it out. Earns a favorite from me. TFTC! #972
#2039 Very quiet due to the early hour I visited. I saw nobody in the track this morning.
A very quick find of the host object and then cache found in the last (second) part that I unscrewed.
A great use of an item that is very apt for this area.
Thanks for my early morning smilie. The creativity of this cache earns a favourite point

Awesome camo!! Walked past a couple of times, doubted ourselves then checked clue again. Very clever!! TFTC
I went out after work today to 'Grab a quick cache.' After being muggled by a sudden explosion of jogging muggles at SPECFORCE I decided not to search and headed here. As I was walking to GZ there were many jogging muggles passing by and was beginning to think that I would have to leave it again, but upon arriving at GZ there was a sudden lack of muggles. I had the cache quickly in hand, and shortly after the log was signed. This one made me smile. Then off for a wander down the path to see where I ended up. TFTC #543
Great hide. Took me a while to make my way down here... now.. how do I get back up to K Road? Hmmm TFTC!
Thanks for the cache. I found it on 9/04/16 at 3:06 PM. Nice hiding spot. This is a very common hiding spot in in American Strip Mall carparks! Nice hiding container too.

Out on a geocaching walk around this part of town and this was the first find of the evening after gathering info for a nearby cache. Made my way through the cemetery which has so much history. Found my way around some fences and onto the walkway.
As there were a few cycling and walking muggles I took a seat and waiting till no one in sight - a short search and the camo container was in hand. Wandered away to do the signing then again between muggles, returned the cache to its hide. Clever in theme camo - thanks for the placement slieschke.

I met up with Ugnz, her grandson, Rusty and Rebel98 to walk along Pinky and we walked a little further to get this one. What a clever hide, and a very appropriately themed camo. FP from me.
I am with rebel98, urbangypsynz, merlot58 and mini muggle! walking along the cycle way. Since this cache was published in October 2014, I have been waiting to come and collect. Was hoping to bring a bike, but it seems easier walking between the caches! A few bikers are huffing n puffing with the hills, its not as flat as I thought it was
Love the hide, brilliant! we had to dig a little deeper, and on re-checking and a bit of ingenuity the cache revealed itself. Thanks for the hide, and the adventure.

This is one I have wanted to do for a while, to be honest was not sure how to get to the start, changed mind on cycling it after watching the cyclists puff their way up the hill. Awesome cache fp.
Loved the camo - logged signed RRUM (rebel98, rustynz, urbangypsynz and merlot58). The log is full, no supplies being carried, so unable to supply a new one!
Walked through the cemetery to get near GZ Great hide .Log full managed to date and initial by going sideways. TFTC.

Of course, it was THERE! First geocaching container like this I've ever found Grabbed on my way cycling from Glendene to the center.
The logbook is completely full, BTW.

Great cache container not what I was expecting but totally in theme the grab was easy but it became muggle central when it was time to put it back. Log full. TFTC
Planned this for a lunchtime grab. Parking over by Mercury lane food hall, a nice walk towards GZ. Quickly located and finally log extracted, signed and replaced. TFTC
I followed a path through the cemetery, which took me close to the cache; then it was an easy step over a low fence, a short walk to the path and then GZ was quickly found and the log signed. I only signed GW though. TFTC slieschke.
After reading logs I thought ot would be hard to get to the gz from the cemetery, but I just followed one of the trail and then saw a passage.
No muggles at all, luckily, but also no space at all on the log sheet. Wrote my name very very tiny...
The hint made me smile. I do have tons of those in my country.

Unfortunately a DNF - beer drinking muggles nearby disturbed my search attempt.

7134. Had a spare day while Iris was at a conference so walked around doing some inner city caches. Found eleven altogether. This was find number seven and an unexpectedly easy one. The hardest part was bush bashing to it through the cemetery!! Thanks for the cache. Rodney.
A detour on my way to work this morning led me to this cache. Nice placement, I like this new cycleway. TFTC
Greetings from Wellington. Up for a conference and had a few hours to get from the hotel to Vector Arena, so why not walk and collect a few caches along the way! Crazy weather - pouring with rain one moment, sunshine the next.
Bit of a challenge to get to from the cemetery - probably should have gone around instead of jumping the fence. Once at GZ, it was a straight forward find. Very well themed cache. TFTC.
