Heading home today from Bright, I stopped along the way to break my journey and stretch my legs a little. Found quickly without any trouble. The log book was slightly damp, but nothing to worry about. My thanks to docNwitchjy for the cache.
On another return trip to Tumut, so couldn't bypass a few caches on the way without stopping for a search. In Mr SKI's younger days when the Supercars were actual Fords or Holdens that you could purchase from the showroom floors, he was quite interested in racing. Always wondered how a racing circuit came to be in a place like this, away from the masses and major towns. Logs signed as SKI Pair, SP.Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache docNwitchjy.**SKI Pair****
Lovely spot that brings back memories of watching the V8s growing up. Saw many cool vehicles during those visits, including the Supercars themselves of course. Logbook ok but the rest of the cache contents are a tad damp, as previous finders have noted. Hopefully someone else can spare the time to let the contents dry out (we had places to be).Few noisy vehicles hooning around the raceway whilst we collected the hide - love that sound. Thanks docNwitchjy --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------In the spirit of reconciliation we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of country on which we geocache throughout Australia and their long lasting, and ongoing connections to land, sea and community. We (the pants people) pay our respects to Traditional Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
In the 1960's and 70's I used to race a motorcycle here. The pits were certainly not as big, or well set up as they are today. The entire infrastructure of the raceway has developed tremendously since then.I found the cache in a bit of a sad state from water ingression. I cleaned and dried the container, and the trinkets, but there is still dampness in the lanyard material. Thanks for the memories, docNwitchjy.
Out with Geowife and Geodogs exploring the local area. All good here. Now onto the next one for the day. TFTC
A nice easy cache at the end of the day. Has been a great day exploring with geohusband and geodogs. Lovely sunny ️ weather. TFTC
I don't know how many times I have been to Winton since this cache has been published and never turned left when leaving the circuit! Well today was the day to finally do it, after setting up for the weekend race meeting I had a couple of hours to hunt some nearby caches and I broke tradition and turned left! I had an idea where this one would be and once parked close, I was proven right with the cache in hand quickly. Thanks to docNwitchjy for this one
Found on our journey home from the Rutherglen mega, thanks for the cache

After completing half of my mission yesterday, It was now day and it was time to find a few caches in the Benalla LGA before heading to the centre of the Wangaratta LGA and then moving on to Craig’s Hut for a CITO.
As I was passing by this one, I had to stop for a look.
This one was found without any trouble.

Caching on my way to Melbourne today. A quick find here today. Cache full of orange sluge. Urgggg
Travelling through the area briefly we couldn’t resist the opportunity to look at the racecourse and pick up a couple of great sized caches. This was another quality cache.
Thanks for an interesting view and cache.

In the Wangaratta area for a few days caching with my very good caching mate from Bacchus Marsh 6Hinemoa2 and great caching friend from Adelaide and his mate the Blackadders.
Due to COVID lockdowns and other problems this trip has been postponed a number of times but we are finally going. Once in the area we put 3B6 or Bushfire in our logs to save space.
With so many caches found I have to use the cut and paste method as we found so many great caches from so many different cachers, so a big thank you to all those folk.

THE LATE TO THE WANGARATTA MEGA TOUR. [:o)]
We were booked for November 21. [^] Didn't Happen.
Booking transferred to February 22. covid
Booking transferred to May 2022. Yah - made it albeit a tad late.
DAY 3: Some Winton Wetlands and back to Benalla:
The Fab Four of Bushfire, Blackadders, brisal5 and 6himemoa2 set off for a days of Geocaching adventures. Although we had a plan A, we progressed through Plan A, Plan B and ended up doing Plan -wing it. [^] So to save space in logs we signed BBB6 or 3B6 or similar. Sometimes I stamped logs, but that ended very suddenly. Here is what we found during plan - wing it.
A quick find once we got to GZ with it seems an event at the raceway ending, had many cars leaving and looking our way. No body bothered to come and ask so we moved on.
***Thanks docNwitchjy for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. ***

Day 3 of a trip to Victoria targeting around the Benalla area with Brisal5, Bushfire and 6hinemoa2. The forecast for the day was for showers however it ended up as a perfect day for caching.
As always the planned targeted hides were not visited due to time constraints but many more varied and fun caches were found. A number of disabled caches were also looked for and found to be there but in need of attention by the owners.
All caches were in good condition unless noted otherwise.
Thank you for the cache docNwitchjy, found 5/05/2022, 2:56:16 PM

Found on the last dying hours of summer to keep my monthly streak alive. Easy find at GZ. TFTC
After an overnight visit to Wangaratta we stopped by Winton Raceway. Geohusband loves his V8’s. TFTC
Today we found This Is The Pits on our travels. A super quick find as it was in the hands of a cacher! Too awesome.
Thanks docNwitchjy for being part of our geocaching fun.

Damaged container (as per photo) replaced until CO has the opportunity to check same. On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird. I’ll leave the more interesting & detailed log to Mrs Geo (aka: SeasonedBird, Salty Chook, the Old Boiler, Old Chook, Dirty Bird or Angry Bird) because she writes so much more eloquently than I and usually has much more time to do so while I’m driving. It’s a great day for caching. TFTC docNwitchjy

From one side of the track to the other! A quick find by Budgietas here as we made our way slowly back to Melbourne from the mega.
Thanks docNwitchjy
I had been set to attend another Victorian Mega but the damn pandemic began and for obvious reasons one was cancelled and one was postponed. I was pleased the postponed Wangaratta event went ahead but have to admit I was still apprehensive about the COVID situation. Although attending all events, (except 1 of the CITOs) keeping distance was still a priority. I had a great time touring with 1TOOLMAN and Budgietas although there was an empty void where SSR should have been.
As well as Wangaratta, we visited The Paps, Mt Buller, Benalla, Glenrowan, Winton and even popped in to Lex country, having dinner at Brady’s Railway Hotel. Our find numbers were low but our laugh count was high so I call that a win!

A quick stop by on the way back from the Mega to the Airport
Never been here before so it was good to see the raceway from different angles rather than TV
--------------------------------------------------------
The Mega in Victoria I had always planned to attend, but due to covid changes I was concerned, I wouldn’t be able to due to work commitments. As these commitments cleared up, I planned to go over and catch up with GoosenEgg, Stainless Steel Rat, and 1Toolman while in Wangaratta for a day caching to attempt to find 100 in one day. As things turned out Stainless Steel Rat was unable to go, so I was invited to join GoosenEgg and 1Toolman for the entire period. 1Toolman collected us from the airport and we immediately drove to Victoria’s 1st Geocache. From there during the 4 days, we visited Wangaratta, Mt Buller, Albury, Wodonga, Benella, Glenrowan, and Beechworth (although we didn’t make the bakery much to 1Toolmans disgust)
The trip was less about numbers and more about visiting places that I had only driven through before. We did manage to complete the Ned Kelly Helmet series and find a great Earthcache at Murmungee Lookout and another cache at “The Paps” which gave tremendous views of the area. The GPS maze, which I must say was one of the greatest attractions was also attended as with another cacher I was first through on the Saturday Morning at 8.15. It was great to get this icon on my profile.
Of the trip, it was certainly hot and humid, but we really didn’t get rained on in any serious way, with the major storm passing through at night time, otherwise it was just hot or very hot depending on the time of the day.

Day 2 of the Mega for LuckyL10n and myself and after grabbing one or two more caches in Wang, we headed down to the NKH series to finish these off before heading off to Echuca on our round trip to Mildura before heading home.
On the way to Echuca we grabbed another 20 odd caches, while also visitng some of the silo art around the area as well Lake Mokoan for a few caches in there. A couple of interesting features were spotted, a bit of history learnt and a few dirt tracks where the AWD preformed very well.
Thanks to all the CO's of the caches we found. Most logs were signed SDL and L.L10n.

#12902 - 1:14:00 PM; Day 2 of the Wang Mega tour with Sol de lune. A quick visit to the Mega venue was followed by a couple more caches in town before heading out to finish off the Ned Kelly Helmet series (almost!). We enjoyed lunch at the Glenrowan Bakehouse, then hit the trails to the south before pointing ourselves north then west towards Echuca. This was our last stop on this side of the highway and a nice quick find in an area I've been meaning to visit for some time! TFTC docNwitchjy

A nice quick park and grab as we are driving on our way to Greta to collect some more caches. Making the most of school holidays. Thanks for the hide.
Always want to visit the Pits. placed your log in a clean dry bag with a new trackable. Maintenance- Lid needs replacing please.
Dalerious and l were heading back home from an awesome day of caching in Wang, and we both realised that there was a trad close by that had no smiley on it. Was happy to make the detour to rectify the problem. Cache found in good condition
No its not. [:o]
I mean it may not win any awards, but its a tidy little cache hidden in an interesting area. I certainly wouldn't call it the pits.
You just keep being you little cache, and don't let anybody put you down. [^]
TFTC docNwitchjy, catnap777 and I were only too happy to put our names to this one putting an end to its lonely status.

Cache lid is cracked and has a hole in it. This cache won't survive the winter and will need maintenance.
We've escaped from home for a few days -the first break for at least three years.
Day five -the trip home, via the long road.
Thank you, docNwitchjy, for this cache.

With The ring of Swiss cheese coming down we could now catch up with our Metro Mates, so once again after many months I teamed up with Omegaman1971 and headed to the Winton, Glenrowan and Wangarrata areas to do the labs and several caches in the area, We concentrated most of our effort at Winterton Wetlands, it was rather dry there with not a drop of water to be seen, we enjoyed learning some of the history of the area and checking out all the wildlife in the area, thankfully we did not wee any snakes today as it was rather warm and some of the grass we had to walk through was waste high.
This was one of the caches we found today.

Last full day in the Benalla area and exploring the countryside by searching for caches. Thank you to all the COs for placing and maintaining caches in this area for us to enjoy finding.
Out travelling around today before leaving Benalla tomorrow , to go back home to Brisbane. Mainly caching in the Winton and Benalla area. Actually it was mainly quiet on the back country roads. Found the cache, signed the log and put cache back where found. TFTC
Left Adelaide heading for the V8's at Winton, what a better way to seek a few Yellow faces along our route.
Some have been interesting as others not so, but without having a go we wouldn't have been brought to those special places in the Geocaching World.
Thanks to the CO for maintaining these hides and getting us out of the car.

I wouldn't say it was the pits - my 8yo and I enjoyed it! It was an easy find. TFTC.
Good hiding spot but the motor raceway sure was noisy. Lovely mural on the wall of the school in this road.
With the Creation Celebration in Wangaratta I had the excuse to get a few caches a bit further south west than I normally venture. With yesterdays cold weather in mind (the only reason I couldn't see the snow on Bogong from my back verandah was because of the cloud) the thermals came out for the first time this year and packed the geohound in the car and headed down the Hume. Aim was a few puzzles I had solved previously plus a couple of new D/T combinations while climatic conditions were suitable, plus pick up anything else in between.
Drove through the thriving metropolis of Winton (would be intrigued to know how big it was before the racetrack was created!) to this one. A quick find in the obvious spot - removed a fork from the cache that was causing troubles closing the lid. Otherwise all good.

A farmer was driving out of his gates and apparently had a huge smile on his face so I'm guessing he knew exactly what we were up too. There was a race on earlier that day but by the time we got there it was empty. Quick find and signed the log. TFTC
I haven’t been up this way for a while as I used to come up here regularly to watch the V8’s motor around the track.
When I was up here for the racing I used to always wander around the pits to check out the the cars in all of the catorgies.

On my way already to the Parkville event in melbourne. Long drive today with a few detours. Weather is fine, low twenties, dry and not too sunny, almost ideal for driving and caching! Most caches were driveby's to break up the boredom and stretch the legs. Thanks to all the cache owners for putting them out there.
