This is a beautiful area and definitely worthy of a cache Hide.
As previous people have alluded, it seems that this is no longer around.
We spent quite some time here, and with a lot of digging can confirm that we believe it is well and truly missing.
The owner has not come to check for quite some time, and so we will log DNF and also request a possible archive on this one ( not something we do without good forethought, history and a thorough search).
Thanks for highlighting this beautiful area. We did enjoy exploring here.

Having read over previous logs, and doing our own very thorough search before logging a possible “ needs archive”, we think this one has had its day. It’s a great location, but now nothing here.

A ramble around the forest on a beautiful cool, clear day. This cache was nowhere to be found, and reading previous logs it has almost certainly been missing for at least a year. In the absence of CO checks or maintenance this should probably be archived.

This geocacher reported that the cache might be missing.

Here while out scoping a future running event to be held here. No luck here though.
Thanks anyway DogBoyOz

Today, I teamed up with AngelG27 for a mini mission in the geounit meandering around in the forest off Blue Range Rd. A great day out with beautiful scenery! Big Grin

We wandered down to this one from another and after navigating around the trees and shrubs, it was a quick find here [^].

Thanks for the hide, DogboyOz! Big Grin

Cache 6236 on 13 Jun 2020.

Time for a mission! After a week of staring at my computer. It was time to get out and find some caches. SpecimenX had the same idea so we meet at 0800 for a fun filled day or driving and cache hunting. 15 caches found all up - more than I was aiming for. We drove Brindabella and Blue Range roads mostly. It was great to get some dirt, although we were happy to hit bitumen at the end - some of the roads were quite bumpy. A fun day out with lots of laughs!

Cache fourteen for the day, and a quick find after going bush and after grabbing the nearby multi.

Thanks DogboyOz for the cache and the fun!

**Today:**

A quiet Saturday so thought it would be good to head out into the wilderness and out of Canberra suburbs, to do some caching down and off Brindabella Road and out the back of the Cotter in the Brindabella's!

Lot's of driving and sightseeing, and it seems other people had the same idea as we saw quite a few cars parked off almost every track, but luckily no contact to anyone except a ranger who we spotted locking a gate and asked him if we could hike through, which he said "Yes, just no camping with !" He said that hiking out here was not a problem during this time as long as social distancing rules were followed! Lots of unloved caches found today too Smile

---

**This Cache:**

We grabbed the cache at the top of this hill first and decided to do this on the way back down. Instead of following the track back down we thought we could just cut straight through the bush, as it is sometimes safer to go downhill through scrub when you have things to hang on too, rather than a slippery dirt track!

It worked out quite well, was a little thick at times but weaved our way through and straight to GZ.

The cache was in good condition and well hidden!
Thanks DogBoyOz

Found at 4:16:00 PM with pprass

Went out for a sunset drive with DogBoyOz and pprass for a few more cache before starting on dinner. I wasn't allowed to log this cache the day it was placed. The CO is really strict on those sorts of things and it has taken me a long time to get back here an log it.

Thanks DogboyOz

Found at 4:08 PM GAFF5 in the company of noikmeister and DogboyOz .
We were with the CO and even he didn't remember where the cache was placed Razz So we looked around where he stopped and then the hint gave us a more reasonable location, but there was nothing at the exact spot where the cache should have been. A bit more digging and way down a hole we found the cache. Replaced where it should have been.
Thanks DogboyOz

Checked up on the cache today. Moved a tiny bit away from where the hint is. Search everywhere.

Headed out for a drive today with DRT and Aquilus1 and DRT and I hadn't found this one so we headed off through the geotrail for a quick find. We found the cache a little exposed so we added a little more camo - TFTC

So, after a big morning climbing all over the Wanniassa Hills, what I really needed to do was drop my geodaughter off at scout camp here and then clean out the area. One of them was a climb up a stupidly big hill.... and my legs hurt before I even started... but, I somehow thought this was all a great idea as I am here already.

This was the second one collected... no real issues making the find, lovely lush bush area here.

Have camped here once and had many meals out here too in the last 35 years. Cache found, all good, thanks.

Sunday 15 October 2017 - a superb sunny Spring afternoon with a brilliant blue sky in the mid 20s spending 4 hrs enjoying outback Uriarra. Found 8 from 9 caches (1 multi & 7 trads) including the fun retrieval of 2 Tankengine's weird weir caches that were adventures in themselves. Loved Blue Range Hut and the surrounds including the 1km return steep walk straight up the hill. We forgot the secatures that would have otherwise saved us from the prickles and scratches while searching for the weir caches.

Enjoyed reading the history of this area particularly given that my husband is Italian. Love this place and remembered last being here New Year's Eve party1999 with the family on invitation of our Lander neighbours. Enjoyed finding the multi, this cache and then climbing the 1km return trip up the steep steep trail to find one of the three caches in this location. Thx p2p. TFTC DogBoyOz.

After competing in the ACT MTB Orienteering champs, I checked for nearby caches and found two really close, so I just had to get them. A short bush bash had me at GZ for an easy find. TFTC.

Out in the area with dty73 today and this ended up being our last cache of the day. Walked in off the road and found a section where the creek was no problem and no jumping needed. Thankfully the cache was found quickly and we did like some of the logs in the book. Glad we didn't run into the Ghost, and sure didn't see any old man in a hat! As the temperature was dropping quickly it was time to head off and soon after finding this cache as we were heading back to the car the snow started and walkers came out of the bush in all directions back to the shelter! Magical in the snow, and snowed the whole way home! Thanks for the cache DogBoyOz.

27-Aug-17
Out for an afternoon cache run with Aquilus1.

We had planned to go elsewhere, but with rain coming we thought we would try more drive time than walk times.

Found the cache, but not "the old man in the hat ghost". (Read log sheet when you sign the log).

As we headed to the car the rain turned into snow - big flakes! It was beautiful! So a favourite point for bringing us out here and seeing this great area! Tftc!!!

On an impromptu drive to do some caching in the area of Cotter and Uriarra with allrounder and Squiggle30, this was the fifth stop on our trek. A nice little walk to this one as I followed allrounder and Squiggle30 making sure they broke any spider webs before I got there. A quick find before going to find the multi cache we got the information for before making this find.

It was a pretty cool walk to this one!

Thank you for the cache.

Found @ 3:07pm with hccatcher11415 and squiggle30

A nice little walk to this one after grabbing the info for "Azzurra Appennini" - coords were spot on. Some of the contents are quite rusty so an owner check might be in order to tidy it up. We would have done it but didn't have the necessary equipment.

Thanks DogBoyOz

I went out to visit Sherwood and see the spring display of daffodils, in the company of a NT group. Not only did our group visit this site, but it was very popular with others too; people turning up at Sherwood on foot, bicycle and horseback. After our walk, we had a lovely afternoon tea back here at Blue Range Hut. This gave me the opportunity to find this cache and another local cache. I sloshed my way to this over the wet ground. The nearby stream was flowing very well. A favourite from me. TFTC DogBoyOz.

A Canberra Bushwalking Club trip organised to find a few caches around Blue Range area. A 20 kilometre hike with JohnnyBoyACT and one muggle. Found all but one cache. TFTCs.

4250. Whilst in the general area, I decided to take a look at this one. After parking at the northern gate, I made my way into the camp to be greeted by some kangaroos. So peaceful out here today.
I then followed the track toward GZ and soon had the prize captured. Such a lovely spot out here when there is no one around.

Crossed the creek and found the track into this area (watch out for the little stumps!). Cache found quickly as it was uncovered. Covered it up a little better.

Thanks.

This cache was found accompanied by 15 loud and completely non-stealthy cub scouts from Majura Mountain Scouts Group. It was Ellen who found the cache and they all checked out all the swaps, but as we didn't have anything to put in, all were left there (well that's what I was told anyway).
Thanks DogBoyOz for the opportunity to introduce cub scouts to our wonderful game, while camping here for the weekend.
Cheers

Heh. On the way in, whilst we were waiting for a friend to come back with the code for the campsite, we met a trailbiker who was asking if this was the best way to the river.
None of us knew at the time that there was a river so close to the campsite.
Until i turned on my gps after we set up camp - this was so close by, but far away enough to escape the muggles Wink

i agree with the statement that this cache deserves more visitors, it's gorgeous!

We decided to stay at Blue Range Hut since the place was empty. While scouting on foot decided to pick up this cache - no better time. A quick stroll in and eventually located despite bouncy GPSr signal. However to camp here we needed to get the code. We made it back into phone range - can't book over the phone. So we continued the drive into the Brindabellas, stopping everytime we got a skerrick of data signal. Eventually managed to hook up the wifi dongle, book the site and get the code. Made it back late afternoon to set up camp so an interesting adventure for us.
Thanks DogBoyOz Big Grin

9122 + 1018 = 10140. Found with Sol de Lune today on a Weird Weir mission.

In the area collecting a Weird Weir and thought this one might be a nice addition. While there were people camping at the main campground the GZ is far enough away for an easy find. Quick find, sign and return and we were off to find some Cliffs !

Thanks DogBoyOz ! This one deserves more visitors. A Favourite Point !

Found with fitzy on an early Sunday morning run. Only one find in 3 months....not sure why, no problems getting to it and no problems finding it.

A few people camping around the area but they weren't too worried about us.

Thanks for the cache and the revisit to the area.....

Talk about bad timing! I just got back from spending the weekend at Blue Range Hut with my girlfriends. I would have been camping overnight within 200m of this.
