Second version of this hide to go missing and now the cop shop has moved so archiving this one.
Appears to be a clear pattern forming here. Our 3rd DNF in a row. Is there an active cache in Beachlands !!!
Sadly our 4th dnf in a row out this way. We had a pretty good idea of what we were looking for but came up empty
Anniversary weekend saw us head to Omana for a few days of camping and caching with KirsTim and yorkshirekiwi83. Today we headed for a couple of caches out in Beachlands in the sweltering heat. No worries here, a straightforward find. Thanks for the hide.
Anniversary weekend and we decided to copy last year and head back to Omana Regional park campsite with Vamber & Yorkshirekiwi83. Today we tackled Beachlands area and it was stinking hot so glad to be popping in and out of the car. Quick find here. Signed the log as KKKT. Thanks
Love these ones. Nice quick park and grab but i know i had problems with these ones in my early days.
Pulled up and Bird jumped out but quick search came up with nothing. Phil then had a go and was soon back at the car cache in hand. Useless Bird!! SL TFTC
A nice day to pick up some geocaches, enjoyed the sunshine and the fresh air, thanks for placing this cache
After a dnf here over 2 years ago it is good to see it replaced....
Thanks Guys
Thanks Guys
Found a while ago but we never logged it! Kids love the local town ones as much as he adventurous ones!
That is a very good hide. We liked it! And no need to fish in the rubbish...

Went to GZ and thought I could just see it. Went back to cachemobile and grabbed my extending claw but no...
That's just an old milk container.
Looked elsewhere and soon had it in hand. TFTC

Last full day in Auckland before heading home to Nelson tomorrow. Decided to head out in this direction to find a few caches. Nice one! Cache found in the first place I checked. Also a good spot to grab some lunch from the bakery next door. TFTC, Biggles.
Hubby drylie found it today - lots of muggles around - including famous All Black great Grant Fox!! He didn't see us find it!! Great geocache!!
The camouflage has come adrift so will repair this and also replace the log.
Will be back in action in a few days.

We came to Beachlands with the main focus being the Jurassic Park cache. I've been wanting to find that cache for my past two visits to Auckland but getting the tides and weather gods to cooperate has proved difficult. Today was the day and a last minute plan was hatched.
I was standing right at this cache, focusing on scouring every single surface in detail but I couldn't see it. I retreated to the car, where I sent the CO a message, but while I typed my muggle Dad went over, got the cache and came back with it. Whaaaaatttttt???? He said he could see it from the car and couldn't understand why I wasn't getting it. Talk about cache-blindness!!!!! I have no idea how I could possibly miss it.
We never got to look for Jurassic Park either. Circumstances and a very slippery walk meant that we got to the island as the tide was due to turn, so we thought it best to get back safely instead of going exploring.
I don't think today was my day for caching!

Found it on the approach after The Rustys sent me round the corner with a hint. Had to lurk a while for a clear grab. Log sheet is full now. Tftc
Out and about with TF and we found 30+ caches today with no DNF's. One of last caches of the day and this was another straight forward find while in the area. TFTC
I dont think we were busted here. Cops were probably too busy eating donuts and drinking coffee to see us. Thanks.
I was hoping we would get a "Hello, Hello what's all this then?" but no, more dangerous characters in other places I am quite sure. T4tc
We could see where the cache was hidden but retrieval was a bit tricky due to high muggle activity. Fortunately the bakery provided ample sustenance to keep us going while we waited for an appropriate moment. Shortly after making a second visit for a coffee the opportunity to make the find presented itself but after signing the log the muggle population surged once again making it impossible to return undetected. Oh well, time for another donut.
Before leaving the Park I found a couple in Beachlands of which this was one of them.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
Nice easy Cache. Clever place. Had to wait a couple of minutes to replace as there were a few muggles around. TFTC
#Cheeky little Cache#
Thanks for the innovative little cache hiding away. It was fun to look for, and fun to find. TFTC made a good end to a tricky geocache day.

Sitting outside eating our lunch and couldn't resist getting this one as it was so close, but muggles everywhere. What an excellent hide. TFTC
I thought it was on another item close by, but then moved to the right spot and had the cache quickly. TFTC.
I loved this one! Was so creative in how this was hidden. Easy find though! TFTC!! W/@esthercrummer
Out with some caching buddies for the evening (Sherlock the Puppy and Socialbizguy), with the mission being to find all of the Beachlands caches.
This one came at about half way through our Beachlands raid, and as we pulled up, I scanned the area for possibilities. GZ was actually the first spot I checked, but not thoroughly enough... I moved on to the next possibility, which didn't turn up the cache either. Ok, stop, step back and reassess. Sherlock the puppy and Socialbizguy consulted their phones, and I wandered back to the first spot I checked. This time I went over it a little more thoroughly, and something stood out.... and so the cache was found!!!
I picked it up and waved it at Sherlock the puppy and Socialbizguy, saying "you guys keep staring at your phones, and I'll just find the cache!" After a bit of laughter, they came and checked out the cache (another cool one, NZTravellers!!!), and we signed the log and returned it.... but not before we waved it and smiled at the security camera (just so they know we weren't up to anything dodgy.!!! We are guessing that the powers that be know about the presence of this cache!!!).
This done, we put the cache back in it's hiding place and off we went to the next one.
Thanks for the fun NZTravellers! Another cache deserving of a fave point!

Had suspicions that this cache had been muggled by local kids so have waited a few weeks before reinstalling. We are hoping that they have given up checking on this and that we are now safe to go.
Have fun guys.

Sorry to dnf this but could't see it in obvious place .....
I recommend the bakery next door though ! Yum butter chicken pie and lolly cake for lunch !

Cache has disappeared. Disabling it temporarily and will get a new container installed.
Easy quick find. The log was a soggy mess so replaced it with a spare I had on me. TFTC
Had to wait for some muggles passing but found a slot to grab and replace the well hidden geocache. TFTC
Mrs ToT soon had this under observation. At the right moment it was quickly placed under arrest and taken to the car for signing. That done, bail was granted and cache returned home. TFTC!!!
Out for the day in the Whitford/Beachlands area, collecting a few caches to assist us with the requirements for our GIO Licence.
Stopped for a quick drink - and a quick cache!

Was in the area for a caching trail and movie in the park but was a bit early so grabbed a couple out this way first.
Loved this one. Managed to use the little one changing shoes as a diversion to have enough of a look around to spot and grab it without anyone noticing even the police that were hanging around .
Thanks for the cache and a favourite point for it.

Keylev had organised a group of us to meet in this area and find some caches before having takeaways and watching a movie in the park at Maraetai in the evening. After meeting at the regional parks carpark down the road we decided to drive in convoy around some of the beachlands caches.
Have come across quite a few of these hides, but well executed in a busy area. TFTC

Out with a group today ... makes it fun and interesting to cache with different people both adults and kids children..TFTC
Caching today with a group collecting caches in Beachlands prior to the movie in the park at Maraetai. A nice quick find here on a surprisingly busy street.
Wow... in the middle of a shopping street ...really... Nice hide, had seen this type before, but not in a high muggle area.
Log signed, cache replaced, and on the next.
Well done on placement.

Mum found this one while Laval changed his shoes as cover. We came back here with the others later and it was funny to watch them find it.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
I changed my shoes so that mum could have a look around with no one noticing. She found it quite quickly.
Thanks for the cache.

Out and about with the Future Finder this afternoon for a walk and a spot of caching. After our walk we decided we had earned ice cream. Luckily there is a cache placement to lead us straight to the dairy. We collected the hide first, it would be rude not to. Nice easy find. Happy new year!
Popped out for this one while staying with friends just down the road. Nice easy find and retrieval but not so easy to return as suddenly there were so many people around. Had to sit a while. TFTC
Ha! Love the name, the location and the camo! Didn't take long for Mr F to find (while I watched from the car), but totally didn't expect that. Fav for sure
Here early but had to wait for a few hungry muggles and Council muggles before grabbing the cache. Nice quick find. TFTC.
Quick find while visiting a mate nearby! No pen to sign the log but can provide proof of find if needed!
Spotted this cache on Tuesday when I went to post a letter, unfortunately it was at a busy time down at the shops. Went past tonight and stopped to sign. Was rather surprised how many people were around at the shops. Used the phone booth as cover for signing the log. Thanks for the cache, I like these ones, quite funny really to think how many people walk past every day without a clue.
I'm glad I came upon this cache about 8:15pm. It would have too many people around during the day, as it was there a few walking to get their takeaways, as I did after putting back this cache. It was the first thing I spotted, luckily I didn't have to get too nosey.
