We were heading back from the QOGM zig bagging our way picking up caches along the way.
It was quite an interesting drive through here and it is very well set up. Fortunately when I popped out the other end there was enough parking to enable me to stop and pick up this cache, With no one else around I had no trouble searching and the cache was located a short time after exactly where the GPSr was pointing.
We added our name to the log and returned everything as it was, a nice hide indeed.
Thanks Chuze for the cache.

It's the weekend and the weather is fine, so Touchstone7 and I decided a trip outside Canberra was in order. Today we headed back, but were determined to take the scenic route and collect a few caches along the way.
Exploring Cowra with Genghicat. I found the container at gz while Genghicat found the logbook under a rock on the large rock both simultaneously. We combined the 2 placed it back where the container hid and found a jigsaw piece to cover it. Cache in good order. Tftc
Back again today to enjoy the peace and history of this once not so peaceful place

Found on a lunchtime stroll. At least, I found one of them - last entry on the log sheet I signed was February and it has been logged as found many times since then so maybe there is another sneaky one hidden somewhere?

We had been to the Peace Precinct on a previous visit to Cowra, but naturally, there is never time to find everything. We decided to look for this one, even though it was now completely dark, because we had some time to kill before we were due to meet Canary. A first sweet of the walls and surrounding ground gave us nothing, but just as I was about to look around again, Toriaz had noticed something that made her suspicious. Of course, she had found that which we had sought, or something like that. Thanks

We've been to Cowra a few times in the last couple of years, but have always had to leave a stack of caches unfound in the town. This trip we seem to have found a number that we've passed by before.
It was dark by the time we got to this one, and we didn't spot anything on our first look. But then we had a closer look & I noticed something that didn't look quite right. And there was the cache!
Thanks

The log cache in the container we found only has the following seekers listed:
11.11.17 - Mr Damage
1 Jan 18 - DiMorgan
3.4.18 - Phetlern.
The following seekers were not in the log:
Ixy05, bigdig1, moroldies, fitzy_1965, minniek, and 3476.
Either there is a second cache (Throwdown) or a lot of logs need to be deleted!
Certainly needs checking by the CO.

Cowra - a town with a fascinating if somewhat black history.
We stopped here on the way home from the Geo Muster, to learn more of the history and find some of the many caches showing on our geo-map. Our vehicle was low enough to pass out and a systematic search revealed the cache.
Our enthusiasm had waned over the afternoon, with a number of DNF's and caches in need of maintenance.
Thanks 'Chuze' for placing caches in the area.

Headed away for the weekend with fitzy_1965. Made our way through Cowra and Bathurst trying to pick up some out of the way caches and some previous DNFs. I ended up with 48 finds but unfortunately we had around 17 more DNFs.
This was one of the previous DNF's.....very happy to tick this one off the list.

15,400. Found during a Cowra/Bathurst region run this weekend with minniek.
Day 2 dawned and we headed out towards Bathurst while grabbing a few local caches first. Having dnf'd this one last year we were happy to see it available again. Nice quick find at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache, then we headed off to the next one.
Thanks Chuze !!

Our last morning in town. Up early to avoid the heat. We toured most of the historic sites being a tourist as well as a geocacher. We enjoyed our drive around this pretty & scenic town.
Lots of great cache placements.

Found 7:17 pm with the girlfriend. Since our time had now run out and we needed to make our way home this cache was on the way out and so an easy spot to stop and look for it. I did manage though to fulfil another objective and that was to do the Geocaching Australia caches in the area. The coords for GZ were spot on and I spotted the slightly different spot. Ah so that's what a mini tic tax looks like! I didn't think these were that small. Found after something didn't look quite in place. It was an empty log so added my name to the top of a page.
Thanks for the cache. Funny enough on looking at this cache details discovered we had missed one obviously at one of the entry ways oh well we got no time anymore.

Headed to Cowra early this morning to rescue fitzy_1965 & specimenX after their car broke down last night. Decided to do a bit of caching in Cowra and on the way back to Canberra.
Another DNF for us. SpecimenX had found this one not long ago so was able to confirm that it isn't here anymore.

Final cache for the day. First one was a dnf, so it's fitting that our last one is a dnf also
SpecimenX and I headed out on a geocaching mission to Cowra today. We planned to get to Grenfell and Young as well, but caching took longer than we thought - the GPS was also slow to point the right direction, maybe because of the clouds. Around 35 finds and 8 DNFs for the day (a few too many DNFs sadly). Thanks to SpecimenX for a fun day and a few exciting memories to keep! We signed with Penn (pen) or Teller (stamp) depending if the log was big enough.
26th cache for the day, as we made our way around Cowra. A reasonably quick find at GZ - took me a few seconds to get to the log though! TFTC Chuze and a FP from me!

After a bit of a geo hiatus, it was great to get out of the Can and set off for a geomission to Cowra with AngelG27. We had a great day collecting the caches as we went. A bit of a downer was the high number of DNF's due to missing containers, but the highlight of the day was seeing a Wedge-tailed eagle flying just over our car-awesome sight!
Onto the cache...
Hahahaa! Yes the cache certainly looks out of place. AngelG27 made the find at this one and we had a chuckle at how random it is LOL
Thanks for the hide, Chuze Giving this one a fave

TFTC. having found the entrance cache it was only right that we find the exit. As it turned out the hide revealed itself extremely quickly. A great hide.
I had a DNF on this one ages ago - several years at least. Today it was a quick find - go figure!
Cool day in the morning, ready to do caches in Cowra area and then drive on way to Grenfell. awesome cache... thanks for leading us here.
Day 4, in Cowra we found the cache this afternoon on hot weather (I felt like 30 deg but it actually was only 26 deg!) TFTC
A day out in the summer heat, getting out of the way caches , all caches bar 1 found in seconds , many thanx to the cache placers, cheers
the last cache for the day as the temp hit 42 on the car temp, to hot for these little black ducks, least we found this before turning around, just too hot

After a few DNF in the Peace Precinct we were about to leave the park. Having found the Entrance earlier on, I was now pleased that at least also the Exit was found.
Thanks for the cache, Chuze.

Despite finding a number of holes as suitable hiding spots, we met with no success here and became a bit conscious of being rather exposed the longer we searched.
Found at 9:03:00 AM
I parked at the exit with the view of walking some distance to get some exercise. I spotted a likely spot, but nothing was in it, but then I assumed there would be more of these so I kept searching and found the right one. In it was a container which I had never seen before, but would become more familiar as the weekend wore on.
Thanks Chuze

Difficult find. The last person had added a cover which blended in and hid it very well. I left the cover off to better match its rating. Could still be missed. TFTC Chuze.
Our last cache of the day and after going round and round we thought we would have to give up. Then Mrs SG spotted the blighter! TFTC
Quick easy find at this one. Nice to find a couple after the two dnf's up top, TFTC You've done a great job around here chuze. We've enjoyed the all your caches (even the ones we didn't find) and the views thanks for bringing us here fav point given for all of it

Changed rating to 1.5/1.5 because the "new" free app will only display and allow newcomers and non premium members to log and search for geocaches that are 1.5/1.5.
I recommend everyone change theirs also and whilst at it, go give the new free app a one star rating with your 2cents worth.
Really sad to see groundspeak move in this direction.
c:geo is a free app that allows access to almost all geocaches.

well it sure was wrong it was bloody exposed mind my french. Even though it was exposed for all the world to see it still took us 15 min to find it. Almost giving up i took one more look around the structure before calling over Kjap to inspect.
Slap in face moment aye.
Signed the log and replaced it adding a little more came to go with it.

Finally got one this morning after two DNFs up the hill. Came by here last night but there were a few muggles around and it was dark so our chances of a find were slim.
Parked at the exit and got out and commenced the search. Did two full rounds of the gates before spotting something amiss. Cache was uncovered and log signed.
Cache is in good condition.
Thanks Chuze.

On our way out from Sydney towards the outback, we stopped in Cowra for some caches. Tried to be as stealthy as we good in the heat - but the neighbour, maybe it was the CO? came towards us pointed to a specific location. Thanks for the help, nice to meet you!
Found it! Great hiding spot. Didn't sign log book due to not being on good terms with the 8 legged friend living there.
I abandoned the geomobile outside the hospital and headed off up the hill for a stroll around the Peace Precinct
I entered the area via the Exit of course [:o)]
And despite a thorough poke around, I strolled off up the hill with a DNF in me pocket
Somebody else found it today, so I guess I just wasn't looking in the right place to 'C' the cache

TFTC! Great easy first find for our Grandfather who was visiting and playing along with our family! He was so excited to find his first cache!
Found by Sunshine Toledo and Her Majesty at 12:20pm. The cache was found quickly and it's in good condition.TFTC
Plans were made with the FurfacesLL ladies to do a loop of Cowra, Grenfell and surrounds. Although I have recently been on this loop with Tanso, I was keen to head out again with the girls and even attack a couple of the DNF's from the previous trip. I managed to pick up a total of 18 finds today and 1 cache was DNF'ed again after another extensive look.
Temp cache placed until the owner is able to place a new cache. Same coordinates.
Thanks Chuze for placing these caches, lovely area especially on a day like today. and thanks to FFLL ladies for another nice caching day out

Our only free day for quite some time so we decided to head out on a geomission around the area. We have had a couple of mini tours lately, but today we went all out to Cowra and Grenfell to see how many we could find. Rapidlywild came along for the drive to fill her gaps where she has previously posted DNF's. The weather was lovely and the drive was picturesque, thank you to all the cache owners for bringing us to this lovely part of Australia.
We searched but came up empty handed so we decided to put a replacement cache down until the cache owner can get to it for some maintenance.

Searched high and low but unfortunately had to walk away empty handed on this one. We were pretty convinced on where this cache was supposed to be however the location turned out to be empty. Hmmm we did a very extensive search but had to conceed defeat here. Thanks anyways Chuze Maybe next time

The third of 24 today, whilst in Cowra for what was supposed to be a family holiday. In the end, it was just my dad and I after the other half of the family couldn't come. Woke up this morning with the goal of getting a few in Cowra. Only when I returned home did I realize I could have gotten 5 FTFs! Oh well, more for next time! This one took a bit longer than the last but after a short search, we had the cache in hand. Log signed and cache replaced. TFTC Chuze!
