Just about to walk away, and there it was. Lid had come off, did not have tool kit for fishing. Was not able to sign.
We were passing so tried again and it was looking right at us! Sometimes it plays like that doesn't it! A FP for a creative cache that took us longer than it should have! Tft
Thanks for the find, took longer than it should have for me to find this one, but I spent my time looking on the roadside side, like the description suggested, until I went the other side and found it easily.
When I first went to look for this one there were too many muggles so went back in the dark and managed to fin it. TFTC
#14,906. Park, walk and grab on De Havilland Drive in Bell Block, New Plymouth. Fortunately, the GZ was all quiet at the time of our visit. Found after a bit of a search. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.*Thanks for the geocache placement, and for bringing us to this site, and **.T h a n k s. .f o r. .t h e. .c a c h e.**.M a u r u u r u. .k o e. .n u i. .a t u. .h o k i. .t e. .k e t e r o k i.*
After finding a cache that had not been signed since 2/9/20, realised there had to be another some where. And yes there was. With Tokerau
It always good to Geocache with JR, she has such great geo-sense.Very clever hide. Was there an archived cache near here as we found another log in a container.
Thanks Phronimos for the cache. Its #1884 for us. We found your cache on Sunday 17 March 2024. Ui k park n grab. Worked in this industry long enough to know what a real Christmas Tree is!
Signed and replaced. Log was damp but able to sign. Lid had become detached so it took quite some fishing and maneuvering to get log and container out. Lucky we had little fingers with us! Have added some padding in hole so it cant slip too far in now. Please secure lid well.
Cool Christmas tree. I suspect the Grinch in our house would prefer a tree like this!
planned group attack on new Plymouth for this long weekend.
with squirrel nutcase eyespyben and ABCDF4
kiwiana trail was our main goal but anything else will be great.
sneaky cache hide here today
able to park very close as businesses where all closed today.

With ABCDF4, eyespyben, and Gap (of Fap and Gap)... A planned expedition into the Taranaki region. All logs were signed with our individual handles, or Team HRP (Huntly, Rotorua, Papamoa) depending on who accessed the logbook first...
King's Birthday Sunday: It rained heavily overnight, and today was marginally better… The object at ground zone was unmistakably the host. But finding the right hole was quite an exercise. We circled as best as we could, and Gap spotted the cache in its hide. Thanks Phronimos. TFTC.

Very sneaky little hide here, great clue M14 had it in hand in no time, log is however damp but we were still able to sign.

Eluded us today. Cache description says road side, owner maintenance says carpark side, we looked both and still didn't spot it! We will be back ....
I don't often get to visit the Taranaki, and even rarer is a visit to New Plymouth. But I had a reason to be here over the weekend, and even though that reason was not geocache related I still managed to sneak a few caches into my itinerary
This particular cache would help me with my qualifying for GC46GZ4 so I was keen to find it.
Being a Saturday morning, GZ was nice and quiet so I was able to have a good hunt around undisturbed. However, in spite of having a reasonably good idea of what I might be looking for, I could not find it. My search wasn't helped by the conflicting information available on both the cache write up and in previous logs.
So I messaged a previous finder to ask if it was on the side nearest the road, or the carpark, and having cleared that up I went back a second time and made a quick find this time. Very nicely done, and I was happy to be able to sign the log.
Thanks for bringing me here today. Gets a FP from me

An interesting structure, cache was a quick find but log was very damp and we were only just able to write on it. TFTC

An E174 09.x towards a challenge I’m working on. We waited for a guy leaving work late, then found with a short team effort. Cunning hide and cool structure, cheers Phronimos
Heading up to Whanganui with BFG & D for a weekend out of Wellington.
20 January 2023 20:44 Number 12262 for me. TFTC Phronimos for placing this cache for us to find.
I had the right idea, but BFG was the one who spotted it!

Things have altered here since I placed this cache seven plus years ago.
So today I relocated the geocache to another christmas tree.
All good to go now. Sorry for the delay in rectifying the situation.

Couldn't find. Branches have recently been chopped off. Maybe cache went with them?
Awesome find, on the other side of the drive to where the GPS was directing. Thank goodness my daughter can climb, I was a bit short lol
Geopup and I went for walk to hunt for another geocache. No luck this time. While reading back through the activity comments I'm thinking the lack of height may be an issue.
We've come down to New Plymouth for a few days and it wasn't raining at this point, so we found a few yellow smileys in this area. Love this little beauty and think that I was reasonably subtle even though it was during business hours. TFTC
Out geocaching in Bell Block again. Such a great hide. First find of the day. #186
traveling with watcache to he scout jamboree in Hamilton while also getting a few caches along the way, then decided we would travel even further and go see some good friends for a few days then head to New Plymouth and enjoy the lights on there at the park thank you for putting a cache here great to see another town o beauty so much to offer. nice quick find here. tftc

Stopped and visited during our Xmas roadtrip around the area. No problem locating this one TFTC. Merry Christmas and safe travels to all cachers
.Oh Christmas Tree. Only 3 more days to go. No tree for me again this year but have decorated Zara with Xmas trinkets. Stopped off here to get this one tagged. Cheers. We pass this one often as parked just down the road.
Day 9 - Sunday 22 December.Round trip New Plymouth to Okato and back today.
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are spending Christmas exploring Taranaki via geocaching. Its been an amazing 3 week adventure. Rattls BBQ was a great event, meeting many other cachers. But also managed to fit in a few more events, especially New Years Day celebrating the start of 2020. Lots of caches - over 500. Lots of cache maintenance. Lots and lots of kilometers. And lots of amazing places visited along our journey. Mt Taranaki remained elusive for much of our travels and the caches on it at the top. Loved Pukekura Park Night Lights Show and the the Wooden Mechanical toy exhibition at NP Info centre.

I like the valve sculpture on the other side of the driveway (photo) in fact, that's where I thought the cache might be, except that a Christmas tree it isn't and anyway, the GPSr is insisting that the cache is way over there.
Day ten of Taybeedragon's and my big 3 week circumnavicaching trip around Mt Taranaki, starting from Palmerston North. Earlier we did most of the coast road up from Hawera, Today we start from New Plymouth and finish it off.
Highlights:
* 3 weeks, 536 caches
* Mt Taranaki had been removed for washing, which was a bit of a shame. Even after it had been returned we were only allowed to see it for it was less than half an hour a day.
* High percentage of caches with crappy coordinates
* Amazing Pukekura Park
* AMAZING Pukekura Park light show!
* Pukeiti Gardens
* Lots of cache maintenance!

Planning for the [NZ Mega 2020](http://nzmega.com) event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:
* 20 years of geocaching worldwide.
* 20 years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
* And it's 2020 - all the 20s!
Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of [this event](https://coord.info/GC87777) - you won't want to miss it!

Wandered SE from my Apartment rental in New Plymouth. This was the first one of the day for me! Thanks for the hide. I replaced the cardboard log with a proper paper one - easier to roll it up!
I'm in New Plymouth on a work trip for a couple of days. Some spare time to find a few caches as well. After work was done for the day, I found a couple of caches on the way to the airport to drop off a colleague. Found this one after a short look around. TFTC, Biggles.
Nice quick find with Geemannz. TFTC. Log (states replacement)is short of room on most writeable side.
Zz dancer and I spotted it within seconds of each other. Cardboard log dry but nearly full. TFTC
I see why you say after hours or weekend. Middle of the day on a Wednesday isnt a good idea. so much going on in the area at this time
Finally came back to this one after a previous DNF and boom there it was. Felt very victorious to cross this one off the list. Tftc!
I have set myself a goal to get the requirements for the mystery cache The well-rounded cacher challenge (Manawatu) This requires me to get 25 badges 5 of which need to be gemstone badges. So each time I now go out caching weather it is by myself or with fellow cacher I will try to get a least one cache that will get me closer to my goal
The plan is to stop off in New Plymouth for the night grad a couple of caches while here then head up to Auckland for a couple of caches then finish of the day in Whangarei grab a couple off caches there before heading back to to Auckland get a few more caches there than head back to New Plymouth for the night grab some more caches before heading home and garbing a couple of caches on the way back
The last cache of the day and the Traditional cache on this side of bell block
Thanks for the cache

Went for a little drive to get this and to keep filling the cache calendar. A good straightforward find on a road I haven't been down before. Thanks.

Liked this one. I see my previous finder has left a temporary log - many thanks. Ngairej signed it for me as we found it together.
I don't know what's been used as a log because the cache was empty when I retrieved it. Dropped a bit of card into the bison to use for now.
