Beautiful place to visit but unfortunately located a container with a nasty surprise. We assumed the cache had been interfered with as we couldn’t locate anything else in the area.
It was not in the correct place and has a needle in it, no papers visible, not game to touch.
Very disappointing such a nice little spot for a geo but Instead of a geo I found something rather disturbing and reminder to always be careful on our geo hunts
Last day of the long weekend road trip to the far south coast. Stayed overnight in Beta and worked my way north from there. Again lots of caches and mostly of good quality, thanks to all for putting them out there!

Found by Mary and David at 16:00. Wonderful reflections with the shadows lengthening. Loved the camo. Our thanks to dghoffy.
Out and about with nibletricecakes and the Goulburn/Canberra crew. Scouting the coastline for treasures... my first big caching weekend! TFTC (and trail)
Cute. Coords very wild. But a Fav for the find from me. TFTC!
Spending a glorious weekend down the Sapphire Coast as part of the Canberra Invasion. Whilst the invasion meant the chance to catch up with many cachers at events and at different spots (and a delightful excuse to celebrate Lovetherabbitohs 18th birthday), I spent most of the weekend on the hunt with the CGI crew: Fitzy_1965, DarzeeDi, Minniek , K8TYBEE , GLISS!, GSC2000 Lovetherabbitohs, B0tmun, death_killer & my_name_jeff_1. Thanks so much for keeping all the caches alive and making this weekend a possibility! Tftc

Headed to Wallaga Lake for a bit of an invasion by people from Canberra & Goulburn. A group of us convoyed for most of the long weekend. The group known as CGI (Canberra Goulburn Invasion) consisted of fitzy_1965, darzee di, nibletricecakes, k8tybee, GLISS!, GSC2000 and my geokids Lovetherabbitohs, b0tmun, death_killer & my_name_jeff_1.
Day 3 now all packed up and ready to head home but not before finishing the SST series and any others along the way. All caches were quickly found. We certainly loved the variety.

Sorry for the generic log, some with an added comment - this weekend a few of us from Canberra and Goulburn decided to travel down to Bermagui and do the SST series and some of the other traditionals, camping at Wallaga Lake Big4.
Today was day 3, final day of our adventure and what a great adventure it was, loved the company, lots of laughs and stories making it a successful fun long weekend. I just loved the different caches and ability to park safely and enjoy the experience, some a little harder to find than others but found in the end . We found boots and all, gets a favourite from me. We signed logs as team CGI (canberra Goulburn invasion) and we all enjoyed ourselves, we all had a great day and all said how much a fantastic series it was. Tftc dghoffy and elysium_au

Lol. Found on a long weekend away. Signed as Canberra Goulburn Invasion - CGI. TFTC.
Sorry hoffys, but this is going to be a generic log, as I have trouble keeping up with the youngsters I cache with, let alone making notes for individual caches. It will however save you reading every log!
Weeks ago it was decided to resurrect the idea of Canberra Invasions. I had not previously been involved in these adventures but enthusiastically signed up and this is our second this year. What a fabulous time we had. The main targets were the Event on Saturday night to celebrate an 18th birthday and the SST series. Both were achieved as well as some extras thrown in for good luck.
Thanks to all the COs for the effort they put in to creating the caches we found, but especially to dghoffy . What an incredible set of caches. I especially loved the names allocated to the caches - wow what great imaginations you have, and this spilled over to the creation of the caches. Well done d! It was wonderful not to have a series of mint tins or sistemas and their placement was great too. Evil at times but so much fun! I especially appreciated the fact that there was always good parking on roads that can be busy - glad it was a winter long weekend not one in summer.
All caches were eventually found, sometimes with a little bit of help - thanks to the COs and GrimRaider and were signed or stamped as Capital Crunchers. Brilliant series so thanks again and it was great to have you share the weekend with us.

Cache 5210 on 9 Jun 2019.
This was a long awaited and planned geocaching mission to the south coast with a few other Canberra cachers. Bobl27, TikvaNZ and I drove down Saturday morning and picked up a few caches on the way to the main goal which was the SST. We picked up 19 caches Saturday getting warmed up for the main day today, Sunday. And such pretty views from so many cache spots.
This cache: and so we guessed! Just took a minute to find it
Thanks dghoffy and elysium_au for the cache and the fun!

I had been a bit worried about chasing this trail today !!
Along the busy Princes Highway [:o]
But me cunning plan had worked a treat,
I stopped to go shopping in Bega ... neat
And while I was buying stuff,
the morning traffic peak turned off [^]
Leave this trail 'til after nine,
and the amount of traffic should be fine [^]

Jsson and myself went for a trip to find caches in the BFH and SST series. We logged as IJ. A lovely sunshine day with some clouds and a light breeze.
We found many nice and partly challenging caches during our road trip.
Thanks for placing a cache for me to enjoy and find.

Accurate coordinates led to a quick find of a very well designed, constructed and placed novel cache container. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks dghoffy and elysium_au for the cache and a very enjoyable series. This cache earns a favourite from us.
Gorgeous spot. Another corny one. Glad nothing hairy was interested in the booty. TFTC
Find Number 1626, found at 12:04
With the current Groundspeak promotion encouraging caching for the numbers, GeoSon NationalSteel and I decided to try for all 100 finds in a two day weekend. The only significant series that neither of us had found was the SST, so we set off down South to try our luck. With 50 caches found yesterday, we needed another 50 today to complete the mission.
Like others before me I searched the wrong side of the road until I read their logs and then I looked on the right side and found it easily. I reckon that this one is worth a Favourite Point simply for showing us this rather beautiful spot.
The outer was very wet, but inside the cache was in good condition. We took nothing, left nothing, signed the log using the signature GT/NS and replaced the container as found
Thanks dghoffy for the cache.

G&T had planned a raid on the SST series in the hope of ticking off the required 100 finds for the Hidden Creatures souvenirs. So we came down and had a very successful weekend, with 50 finds on the Saturday and at least 60 on the Sunday, and only 2 or 3 DNFs overall. We completed the SST loop, although we skipped a few here and there when we missed a turnoff or it looked like a given cache might take too long to get to, given we were on a numbers run. But I was really impressed with this series, finding it much more interesting than a boring power trail. There's obviously been genuine thought and in many cases clever workmanship going into the hides. To have so many of such quality and variety is quite an achievement and made the numbers run much more enjoyable than it could have been, were we pursuing endless "tupperware under a bush" hides. People concerned about the lack of hints just need to pay more attention to the clever naming system, in most cases. I also appreciate the thought that went into planning a particular route around the caches - clockwise, which we followed as advised - and the selection of safe places to pull over. Anyway, today was another big day with over 60 finds, breaking G&T's daily record, getting very close to my record and passing my 4000th find milestone. We started the day by heading back from Bega to the spur of BFH caches, getting a few more in the area and then resuming our loop of the SST.
This is a really beautiful hidden spot. It reminded me of caching along the Mississippi river in the USA. So lush and green, peaceful and tucked away - not far from the road but where most people would never know it exists. Certainly we wouldn't if not for this cache. So, another FP from me. I took some photos and then the GPS wouldn't settle. It ended up being a tricky but funny hide. TFTC!

A series I will never forget, extremely challenging at times as every cache is different and there is no hint. Without a hint you approach GZ each time like a newbie, and if co-ords slightly out finding some caches becomes hard. Day 3. Spent awhile here cause I was looking on the wrong side of the road. Uncovered cache eventually, lucky I had dry feet.
Couple of days off work so some much needed caching to be done thanks for the cache
Found on my around the SST. A great series to do. Enjoyed the different kind of hides. Took Gayles 4wd down to get this. Handled the mud well.

Overnight trip around the SST with Seemyshell and Brewmaker. I was really impressed with the wide range of unique styles and sizes. Another huge selling point on these were the interesting names for the caches (instead of numbered), which makes it easier to remember each location and find. Thanks to all the Cache Owners of the Sapphire Coast (namely dghoffy and elysium_au) for injecting the greater area with good quality caches. Thanks For The Cache!
Find #100 of the trip. We nearly gave this one up, until SMS found the bootie on the other side of the road. Cheers!

On a two day road trip with Seemyshell and Muppet95 searching for caches around the Sapphire Coast. So many various hides along the way. Thanks to the COs for placing and maintaining these caches in such a beautiful area to visit.
A nice spot to stop for a camp site overnight I would think. Great cache despite the coords having us all over the roadside. TFTC

Heading into NSW on a relaxing few days away sightseeing and caching, not trying big note ourselves on what caches we get or don’t get while here, but to enjoy each others company.
Thanks to the CO for the placement here.

Took a bit of a searching through the plants with the walking stick to find it. I wonder where the other one is?? I told AddictedGamer he used to have a cache like this. He doesn’t remember it. So hot today the water nearby looked mighty fine. Tftc!!!
another lovely spot. bit like home. On our wonder down to the Vic, mega at Alexandra. Lovely spot. 2543 so far for us. Thanks for placing this cache dghoffy, without cachers like you we wouldn't have a hobby. Signed log. took nothing, left nothing
At last! Have been driving past here for several months now but never had the time the look around. Heading back from golf at Bega & decided to give it a go. Happy days! We found it. Nice bootie. Kutgw
We have been visiting The Saphire Coast since our childhood and have always loved family holidays. Now there's just the 2 of us and we still love coming here. There's no better way to explore than on our very own geo-tour. We are interested to see if we discover any unknown (to us!) treasures on our journey today. We have already seen one whale from the shore, fantastic!
Parked on Blanchard Rd and walked down to get this one.
A nice hide.

I have always meant to check out this little beach that you can see from the bridge. The bootie was almost swallowed up by the local flora but the spot on coordinates meant I soon had CIH. Cache and contents are in good condition. Thanks for the cache dghoffy and elysium_au

Found as we wind our way from Melbourne to Canberra the long way around picking up some stray map zones for a challenge cache as we go. Being dedicated caches we never take the shortest direct route to anywhere, except the next cache of course. This one kept us busy for a few minutes before I spotted the elusive devil. This would make a lovely camping spot by the river. If it had been later in the day we probably would have stayed the night here. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.
Spending the day around Tathra, Tanja and Bega - it really was a day from the ocean to the mountains! We enjoyed the variety and difficulty of the cache hides. Thanks to all the COs for enriching our visit to this lovely area of NSW.
On holidays from Brisbane visiting friends, down near Tathra for 4 days. Today we decided to tackle the caches around Tathra, Tanja, Kalaru, and the Princess Highway heading north from Bega. Due to the numbers found while on this holiday, I have decided to do a generic message. Thank you to all the cache owners who have placed these caches in the various locations. TFTC
After a good drive and looking for a spot to camp the night I finally found this location,
What a great spot here,I set up camp, had a feed then went for a late night stroll and grabbed this one,
There were others camping down stream but to far away to be of any noise, ill be coming back here again,
Awesome place to camp out,a fav from me
Thanks dghoffy

This was a hard find!
The ivy and ground cover is very thick and makes it confusing to where your supposed to look. We got to GZ and couldn't quite understand why the cache would be here, it is a bit random!
We searched and searched through the scrub on both sides, as we weren't sure which side it would be on.
Eventually Ambi made the find and the title of the cache all made sense
A cool/cute little hide! Thanks!

Took The Woofer down the coast for a couple of nights, and used the opportunity to bring our cache count closer to 1000! It took us 8 hours to get to Bermagui, but we found over 40 caches, and had an absolute ball - with some of the most creative hides we've ever seen.
We searched for a little while before something stood out. We almost discarded it as rubbish before we remembered what we were looking for! Suspect this one might have been easier to find once upon a time, but now that it's faded, it blends in nicely. TFTC!

It is a long weekend in Canberra and a welcome trip away as work has been hectic the last few weeks. I was pleased to accept an initiation to stay with fellow geocachers Boeing737 & Jetfuselage (hope you're looking after my plane Will). The south coast is beautiful this time of year, however, with the warmer weather, the reptiles are on the move and I spotted numerous lizards and two black snakes.
I was surprised how quiet it was, I thought there would be a few Canberra cachers about, but no: just me. Forgive the generic logs.
I was a shoe-in for this one.
TFTC dghoffy. Thanks very much for the guided tour around this beautiful part of the coast. I look foward to my return.

My GPS had me in the middle of the road. The RHS was a bit closer so I looked up there around the trees and ivy, but eventually gave up
#4351 - 11:46; The day had finally arrived to head to the coast with fitzy_65 and mtrax to give the SST and BFH series a run. The initial plans had been hatched with f65 a while ago, with mtrax joining in after a chat about forthcoming plans at a recent event. We had stopped for a couple of caches in Nimmitabel, along with a pie and a coffee at the local bakery before heading on to Bemboka for a couple more. We had now started on the main mission and had collected our first few in the SST as we headed north on the Princes Highway, with the goal of reaching Bermagui by sunset and were now on a bit of a roll. Sometimes you need to check the name. Another nice quick find on this one and apologies for the generic logs. TFTC dghoffy
10704. Found on a weekend run down the coast with mtrax and LuckyL10n to do the SST and BFH series and any other caches in between !
Left Canberra quite early for our run down to the Bega & Bermagui regions. This was the next stop for the trip and the next of the many SSTs we were to find. We were really impressed by and enjoyed the various cache containers and hides throughout this series ! Log signed, cache replaced, and we were on our way to the next one.
My thanks to my trip companions and all the cache owners for a great weekend !!
Thanks again dghoffy ! Enjoyed the fact that there was always a safe place to pull over throughout the series !

Weekend away mission down south coast mainly for the SST series, the start of the trip down brown mountain boy that was pretty cool and by that I mean cold but once we push out of the mountain it warmed up pretty good to a glorious day, and the drive was pretty good .
Came in from Bega and headed towards bermagui for the night Some where hard and some where easy
Found with Fitzy65 and LuckyL1on
Note need to update some of the D/T to reflect they aren't all the same.

As we are still at Tathra and we had such fun yesterday we decided to do another run around collecting the rest of the Sapphire Surprise Tour caches. Left the caravan park at 7.30 am and returned at 5.30 pm. This time we made it to Bermagui as we stopped just short yesterday, so it has taken us two days to go the 40 klms! We thoroughly enjoyed this series, the creativity, the sneakiness of the hides and the humour all while showcasing the Sapphire Coast. The amount of time and effort that has been devoted to creating and maintaining this series is amazing. Thanks also for placing the hides near safe pull off spots. It is all in the name. TFTC
Cache maintenance run. Cache all good. Due to the heavy rains the track to cache has washed away a fair bit. If you are 2wd it might be best to park at the top and walk the few metres down to the cache.
Today's quest was to grab a few more of the SST series, and any others along the way. I have already seen this caches partner a couple of days ago. Nice spot on the river bank.
My thanks to dghoffy and elysium_au for the cache.

Day twelve of the Southern NSW Lounge About with BettyBoo3747.
A lovely sunny day, perfect caching weather!
The second day mainly on the SST trail, and a few other as we were passing.
Not sure if I would like to be down here when they released a bit of water! It was a slow lazy river today.
That bridge is surely built high though.
We did wonder where the other gumboot go to
Thanks, Robmc.

# 10202. Robmc and I had a rest day from the SST yesterday but made an early start again today. We left Tuross Head at 7.40am and first stop was School's out that we missed the other day. Started the real trail again at 9.10am and finished about 10 hours later back at TH. We now only need to go back to Cobargo and work our way north towards the finish. The inland scenery has been breathtaking and I really enjoyed the scenic views everywhere we went. Frustratingly, we had 5 DNF's today - they waste so much time.
We had to laugh when we found the cache here - think we saw its mate just two days ago....... A nice view of the bridge from here.
Thanks dghoffy

A quick find once we got to GZ. Lots of traffic about but played tourist, helps when you have out of state numberplates. Just dabbling with this trail today, haven't left ourselves nearly enough time to do it justice, looks like we'll have to plan on coming back sometime. Really enjoyed the work that's been put into the planning and the cache containers. TFTC
With the warm weather still around a plan was hatched with Rapidlywild to head off again on another adventure. We headed down from Canberra on Friday afternoon after getting an early mark from work. Our hotel was comfortable and after getting a good nights rest we were ready for day 2. Our plan today was to attack the SST trail and others along the way and hope that we find all of them.
Apologies for the generic log, we had a cracker of a time around this area. Thanks RW for another fun weekend away.
The SST trail contained some easy finds and some not so easy finds, which was great, we also enjoyed the various container sizes and types used. We collected all but one in the trail due to some muggles who were enjoying themselves a little too much for our liking to approach to conduct a search. Which means we will have to return another day to this lovely area to collect the last in the trail.

Plans were put into place to spend the Canberra Day long weekend down at Bega collecting some caches with FurfacesLL. We cached along the way and picked up a fair few across the whole weekend.
It was day 2 (the MAIN day) of the caching weekend. Today we had it planned to do the entire SST loop starting at Bega and finishing at Bega. We grabbed a couple SST caches last night, but today we will be targeting all the others.
We set off nice and early, and managed to complete the entire loop. We found ALL of the SST caches except for one at the old hall (which was occupied by some drunks). A big shout out to the CO for the efforts that would have been involved in establishing this series!! Cudos!! There were some amazing containers, each varied in designs which made for a wonderful caching day. We had lunch at Cobargo (we were starving by this time) and we snacked for dinner. We collected as many caches as we could along the way, mostly SST but there were also others along the way. Apologies for the generic logs, just know, we had a wonderful time and we enjoyed the range in difficulties of these caches also!
A few muggles enjoying the river here today. Blanchards Bootie was soon located, signed and returned.
Thanks dghoffy for the placement of this cache, we had a great weekend [^] Thanks for the company FFLL, had a great time as always

Mr Morris was on a roadtrip to Canberra via Batemans Bay collecting a few caches along the way. Today is Day 2 travelling from Corryong to Batemans Bay. He enjoyed collecting a few of this series along the way - very cute container.

Justjessie and I did a few of these excellent SST caches on our holiday to the coast, gear containers and at locations where we could pull over in our Motorhome. We will return to do more of these. TFTC.
Nice and Easy find, out and about on a slightly rainy day caching down the south coast. TFTC!
