Went for an adventure into Cathu State Forest and grabbed this one on the way back out. Geo Boyfriend actually found the container! Found container at ground level, appears the branch is no longer there! We didnt have any way of rehanging so replaced back exactly where we found it. TFTC
The cache is as it was and in very good order.
The name has been changed as we cast Mary's ashes into the creek to join Allan's in September 2023.

This is how people used to holiday
Pick a spot in the bush,
and go there every chance you could [^]
No authorities to boss you around.
Just peace and quiet to be found
Well that's how I remember growing up
Staying in beaut campsites where nobody paid.
And enjoying yourselves whatever came along
Weathering storms in a crappy Marquee tent,,
With the rain coming through the walls and soaking your bed
These days it's like you can't go anywhere without supervision,
from unseen authorities who just want your money
But yet there is hope for us unwanted souls,
I found this cache ,
and headed for a campsite,
which nobody knows [^]

Was a great find! Was able to get my parents started on their geocaching journey with showing them this one!
I see why I had left this cache so long.
Not a great road with a few semi sharp rocks.
Very warm on a hot summers day in this protected valley.

Found it yay.i left a Disney traceable and grabbed the hidden creatures traceable.whoever grabs the Disney traceable next could you please log it as i had problems doing so thanks
Found it! Yeah! I've come up here for a couple of nights camping so obviously I HAVE to get the caches in the area. This one was at the top of my list. Such a pretty place. Have been arguing with a goanna all afternoon (he keeps coming to see if I have food) Easy but clever hide. I have left 2 TBs to start their journey. TN SL TFTC
Another geocache on our 4WD holiday. This was going to be a morning trip up to check out the views.... but the rain and the low cloud meant that there wasn’t much to lookout upon! Oh well back down the hill and to find some better weather I think
A bit of unnecessary scratching around in the lantana and cache in hand. TFTC
my little car did not like the dirt road so it was a slow drive, rewarding when you find cache though. TFTC

I have not been able to replace this cache due to medical problems but intend to do so by May 2018.
This cache has been a another victim of cyclone Debbie. Thats 3 of ours in total. Because this one is so remote I am not sure when I will be able to replace it. BUT it will get done.
I can not see a recent needs maintenance log on this cache,
From the [Help Centre,](http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=57)
>If you find a geocache that is in need of some help (e.g. container is cracked, logbook is full or wet), please post a "Needs Maintenance" log on the cache page so the cache owner and the community is notified. This log adds an attribute to the page (looks like a colored cross) to alert other geocachers of the needed repairs. Logging Needs Maintenance does not increase find count. Needs Maintenance logs are not forwarded to reviewers.
and from the [Archive help centre article](http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=56)
>Please use this log only when there are serious problems with the cache or its location. Do not use it if the cache needs repairs, or you didn't find it, or the location made you uncomfortable. Please consider first contacting the owner of the geocache with your concerns. Use the profile link next to the cache owner's name at the top of the cache page to send an email, as well as logging to the cache page about your visit.
If you have no response from the cache owner after 30 days then I'd suggest using a Needs Archive Note. Except for in the most extreme cases, it's normally best to give the cache owner a chance to fix the issue before alerting the reviewers.

Today I made may way though the bushes. But at the gz I couldn't find anything. I also believe that it was washed away by the cyclone
I think this one might have been washed away in the cyclone. I only spent 5 minutes looking because another car turned up (no tell tale signs that he was a cacher). There is a lot of flood debris so the river would have roared through where the cache should be. Nice drive though.
What to do this weekend. Well we decide tit was time to check oath Cathu State Forest/NP. a nice drive off road to test the new car out. We found the picnic area with out any problem and set up a picnic and had a late lunch. yep a caching lunch for us again as it was after 2pm.
We were lucky to see many different birds and a Ulysses butterfly as well as heaps of while and orange ones too.
A trip to the top was most important to test the caching mobile today, Amazing views were had even if we had several rain cloud to look through. Road was a bit wet too but we made it with out too many issues, well none actually. I will have to load a few photos.
Returning down was a little slower as the road was quite muddy and we were lucky to pass a car just before the worst of it.
Back at the bottom and on our way back to the highway we stopped and grabbed the cache. nice a dry, safe too.

Beautiful amazing spot for camping.. and a find to top off a great weekend away
On a mission to get 11 caches today for geoferal no. 4 who celebrates her 11th Birthday today. No better way to spend your birthday hay!. 6 down 5 to go! TFTF
Picked this 1 up two weeks ago. Got caught out in a lighting storm. Luckily the find was straight forward. Will come back again for some camping
Got you this time.... Definately more likely of a place to hide. And less scrub bashing..... After last time being out here, i swore i would come back and camp.... It took a while, but such a great camping area nearby.
Went for a drive to Cathu State "Forest" today but unfortunately I forgot to send the GPS coordinates to my phone beforehand and I had no mobile phone signal out there to look for this cache. This however was not the biggest disappointment. I haven't been to Cathu for years but what a shock it was to see it now with kilometres of pine trees and forest cleared to reveal a barren landscape, especially in these dry times. It was always a highlight to drive through the forest canopy but now it’s more like driving through the set of a Max Mad movie. Despite the signs still stating that it was a state forest, the trees have been cleared for some time and there has been no effort to begin forest regeneration. What a shame. The forest area now begins near the camping grounds where I imagine the cache to be but sorry to jjjml as I don’t think I’ll bother driving back to what was once a great location to visit.
A short drive and had cache in hand. Gps took me to the spot. Great spot next visit I will have the camp gear tftc

got you
Was planning to detour
in and have a look on our way north
but camkea's log had me reconsidering
oh ... what the heck, since it was planned, may as well venture in ...
I am familiar with the area,
and have placed caches in here in the past
(must check on that one near the lookout, and reactivate or retreive it)
... anyway, back to this one ,,,
drove into the campground, and slowly drove out
applying the knowledge from the clue
guessing that it wouldn't be to far from the road.
Stopped at the old forestry barracks, had a look ...
but nothing really fitted.
A bit futher down the road ... here's a likely candidate.
Stopped and had a bit of a look around ...
looks promising, fits the clue ...
a bit more looking and scratching, and hello ... bingo.
took an averaged fix with the gpsr
(attached) only 190 odd meters out
& took the ftf note.
(will fulfil the request and attach a photo, when we get home)
left a smiley badge.
thanks for the excuse to revisit,
must come back and have a better look soon ...
Well we got the prize, thankfully without too much effort,
but with the currently listed co-ords,
maybe the difficulty should go up
Cheers, thanks for the cache, and here's to Allan.

In light of the last logs it might pay for the CO to check that the cache is in place and that the coordinates are accurate.
The coordinates took me for a walk through some thick scrub. There was an old bent over tree with exposed roots within the area, but nothing under it. It seemed a very strange place to have a cache.
For best results bringing old brass to its former shine use smear tomato sauce on item and glad wrap overnight ,
Thanks for the info.
I know about National parks etc. I thought this would be ok as it is in a State Forest in an already disturbed area.
I will contact the Parks service and see what I can do and let you know.
All the best,
Bob Barford
