On the way back to camp after having lunch at Meeniyan with friends, we decided to check on this cache which from recent reports is difficult to find - and we immediately concurred! It is either missing in the loose one, or if it is in one of the tight ones, then it is too hard to get to.
Just the thing a snake looking for a nice place to curl up and sleep between feasts of frogs... Looked as much as we dared without putting fingers where we could see. Found nothing
Treated to a a pair of nesting Rosellas in a nearby dead tree. No one around on the trail today. Thanks.
With the relaxed Covid restrictions in regional Victoria, we are enjoying being out and about in Gippsland. We have been frustrated with our finds this year, we had planned to travel and explore central NSW and Queensland using the geo map as our tour guide, but Covid messed that up.
Once again we have teamed up with Rebel Acts (and are signing small caches as RASP)and today we are down South Gippsland way on the look out for as many caches as we can find. At the moment it is a mild overcast day which makes for very comfortable caching.
Not so worried by the flies today as it’s cool and overcast, but the midges are driving us crazy. The only good part is that we originally thought they were mozzies, and at least these ones don’t bite! Lots of bike riders out today, which is a bit of a surprise as it’s Thursday and the GF public holiday is not until tomorrow.
GO THE MIGHTY CATS!!!!

The weather was looking good , with restrictions lifted in regional Vic I once again teamed up with SKI Pair armed with My mask and Sanitizer, We had a great day exploring the South Gippsland region. There were quite a few challenging and novel hides in the area. this is one of the caches we found today.
Thanks crig for the cache.
Thanks crig for the cache.
Found it with 999hunter. I picked a tree without looking at the exact coordinates and the cache was only 2 trees away from where i thought it was.
My wife was looking for a 30 kilometer plus track for a training run and I suggested the Great Southern Rail Trail as there was a number of geocaches on it that I hadn't found. We started at Meeniyan and she ran to Foster while we drove, walked and geocached our way there.
After our wife ran off ahead of us at Meeniyan, we collected those geocaches and came here. No sign of my wife, and no idea if she is ahead or behind us. Probably ahead.
Some horses in the nearby fields were biting each other over the fence, but they all stopped for a photo.
Good coordinates and luckily found it quickly.
Thanks for the cache crig

It was tyresome that people kept walking by so lucky I used patting the horse as my excuse. Very friendly horse (nothing to do with cache in saying this)
Found it and swatted some flies staying at meeniyan rec reserve for Australia Day weekend beautiful spot nice easy find happy Australia Day
After hearing a few of these skeptical my creatures on our walk to the cache, it was great to reach in and find one holding the cache. Signed the log as it was just getting dark and put the little dude back in her hiding spot.
Suscoe was heading to Phillip Island today via the long way around.
This part of our country is lovely with hills, valleys and little townships dotted throughout the countryside.
It was a very warm day up until mid afternoon when the change came through and our sunny day disappeared into clouds and rain.
It was a wonderful sight and we hope that the rain makes it through to East Gippland and makes a difference.
Thanks to crig for this hide, all good today.

Tftc Crig. The last of my (literally) run and grabs although had two dnfs. Storm clouds are gathering so back to safety of SUV for geohounds and me.
Found by Mary and David at 09:50. Jonquils flowering in the paddock behind here. Quite enjoyed the walk as the wattle is beginning to appear. The rain has stopped and the temperature is up to double figures. Home tonight after more than 2 weeks away. Our thanks to crig.

Today wasn’t going to be a Geocaching day as I had come to Stony Creek with my go kart to lay down a few laps at the track but with the rain cells that passed by made the track very wet so I went to find a few caches instead.
At least by finding some caches in this area, it fills in the map for a certain challenge cache.
I went for a stroll along the trail to GZ, once there the cache was spotted very quickly as it was very visible.
**Thanks to crig for placing this cache.**

Camped at Dumbalk after returning from Tasmania yesterday. Out for a few caches today. Twelth for the day, quick find. TFTC
Find # 7587
Found with sharkiefan while in Wonthaggi for the days events.
A bit out of the way but this was on the "to get" list as I needed it for the UBD challenge.
Both before n after there was certainly a lot of flies around here.

Thanks crig

Tricky hiding spot took us two different tries and probably an hour and half total
Found after a day out in Leongatha, with time for just a couple of quick caches before dark. Wasn’t too sure about poking around here but thankfully spotted the cache quickly. SL TFTC
Oops! Accidently skipped the last 2 caches. Too busy chatting. Never mind, shall grab them on the way back. This one had us concerned about putting our hands in scary places. But a different viewpoint helped us spot it and minimize poking cavities.
The log is FULL. Someone added a bit of scrap paper but it needs replacing. I didn't have a spare on me today. TFTC

First trip with the girls of T.A.C.K.T! Thought we would start our adventures with a ride along the GSRT! Whats better than good company, laughter, challenge and CACHES!
On our way home from a trip to Foster today we had some daylight for a quick walk and a cache. After reading a post by someone finding a curled up snake in a stump this morning at Crossover, we were a bit cautious in our searching at gz. After a bit of a search we were relieved to find the cache and sign the log. Thanks for the cache Crig
Started to look for this one and narrowed it down to a small area. Then I stood on a jumping Jack nest. Luckily I only got stung once. I decided to try again another day.
Found on a lovely day out on the GSRT! At the beginning of the day, we were without a bike because the bike hire place was closed "temporarily" (sounds as stupid and annoying as it was), so we decided to walk/drive to some of the first few caches. We parked further up and then walked over to the large collection of tyres on the trail. After looking at a few with no success, we had a look at some logs that gave us a better idea on where to look - soon after, the cache was spotted. Awesome container! TFTC crig!
Found last weekend on a wander along part of the Great Southern Rail Trail...for some reason this log hasn't updated from my phone. Great cache, took us a while to find, we got tyred looking!!! Many thanks for the cache crig. Favorite from me.
Found on our wander today, love the cache!!! Made some of us jump!! Thanks for bringing us here and for the cache.
Searched everywhere at GZ. GPSr a bit jumpy but kept pointing to the same area. Nothing to be found today. Will come again.
My phone gps had me looking quite a way away. But found it before I got too tired. Blow those rascally flies!
Found with itsahoughthing on a ride along the trail from Meeniyan to Fish Creek. Itsahoughthing quickly spotted the cache while we tried to fight of all the flies. A very appropriately named cache! Thanks for the hide.
While in the area we picked this cache up, a container with a difference.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

TFTC. Only one of those pesky flies today. What a great camo. Easy find as the GPS was spot on.
Managed this one on foot, not normally an easy thing for me, walking more than a few metres is not very comfortable but removing the bicycle from the car boot and replacing it for one cache seemed worse and little harm was done anyway. TFTC.
Didn't see many of the real ones today. One of our smartphone gps units was initially out by 15m, then settled within 4m. The other unit was spot on. TFTC
Lovely stroll on what is turning out to be a rather warm day after managing to avoid some massive downpours with ellybow85. Quick find - love it!!!! TFTC
Our second day, on the rail trail. The day started quite cool but ended up nice and warm by lunch time.
This is a great part of the trail, very enjoyable for bike riders.
Thanks to all the owners, for the effort that you put into the hides.
Many thanks for placing this cache, crig, for us and others to find.
