WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 25 - Cranbrook to Nyabing via Tambellup, Broomehill village and Katanning. I started with a tough multi, then did lots of roadside caches until Katanning and then started to explore the town also whilst doing a set of labs. The last part of the day was heading to Nyabing and a fantastic show ground camp ground, with under cover caravan parking. I watched yesterdays Grand Prix and am now sitting having dinner at the local gathering spot, not a pub called The Hub. Off to Kulin tomorrow and a series I have been wring on for some time but did not expect to get to, the Tin Horse Highway. As I circled up to the start of the Labs, I was able to take in the northern welcome sign as well as the others I assed today. Thanks for the cache josstaylor46862.12 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & Zero Milestone Benchmark A#195**Albida**
Popped out to the area to clean up some new LGAs over a 3 day heist! Happy to see theres a lot to keep me busy for a few days. Quick find on my way to Katanning. Thankyou josstaylor for placing and maintaining Welcoe to KA for us and others to find and enjoy
Out and about again, nice early start and didn’t want to get out of the warm bed. Covered a lot of km as haven’t been to some areas ever, and some not in a very long time. Cleaned up a fair few today after getting back not long before the Caching event.
Found a variety of hides and in different areas which made for a nice day. Generally quick finds today
Thanks to all the CO’s for the hides I found.

Good number, thanks for the cache, put a couple sheets of a notebook in there to serve as a log
The cache is in good working order. If a fellow cacher can please change the log that would be much appreciated.
On another fun geocaching adventure with woolwood9.
Most caches found today were quick finds with a few requiring some searching.
Heading towards Albany but taking the "as many geocaches as possible on the way route"
It got to 35 degrees and there was lots of dust on the side roads.

The journey continued from Wagin to Katanning. Also today we were able to search for a few caches along the route. Nice was the walk at Puntapin Rock and the Parkeyerring Salt Lake. In Katanning there was also one or the other cache to find. Many thanks to the owners for setting the caches.
Found with TahliaTheFox, out grabbing a couple of caches nearby on a nice evening.

Taking a quick caching trip into the Great Southern to stay overnight with axell33 in Katanning.
We could see another car at the welcome so went passed to see if they were ‘like us’! Yes! They were, so we turned back around and parked. A laugh and giggle as everyone realises we are all here for the same reason. Had a nice chat, found the cache, signed the log, cache back where it lived. They were just heading home and we had just arrived in town. So great to meet other cachers out and about. You never know where or when! Thanks for the hide here josstaylor.

After setting out at 0700 this morning from Baldivis we finally made it to Katanning for an overnight caching trip. As we were slowing down to hunt for this cache another car pulled up on the side of the road and we had a chuckle at the odds of 2 caching parties out here pulling up at the exact same time. We had a chat and took care of our caching duties. It’s always nice to meet other cachers and this was no exception. It was great meeting up with you both Diadem, welcome to WA and looking forward to catching up with you at WAGB. Oh and congratulations on the first to find in Katanning. TFTC josstaylor and arranging this meeting lol.
Today the geocaching mission for TaurusSix and I was to try and obtain the FTF that we noticed came out in Katanning yesterday. We kept an eye on the post last evening and when we still noted it had not been found first thing this morning we decided to undertake the just over two hour drive to get to gz. The drive itself was very pleasant just after sunrise. Not that there was much of a sunrise because it is quite an overcast and showery day. Pleasantly cool too which is nice for geocaching. Once in Katanning and achieving the first to find we set about to find many of the other caches in the Katanning area.
This is our fifteenth cache for the day and last one in Katanning before we take a long winding route back to Bunbury via Kojonup, Boyup Brook and DonnyBrook. Thanks Katanning it’s been fun. As we parked up and headed to the cache another car pulled up both occupants were smiling and knew exactly what we were doing. They too were geocachers, we had a nice exchange they were just about to start geocaching in Katanning we had just finished for the day. Always good to see fellow geocachers . TFTC

Bought lunch at John's Bakery in Katanning The party and pie were very tasty. Nice town.
One of our targets for this trip to Western Australia was to attempt some challenges, in particular The Great Southern Challenge, The Great Southern Challenge II and The Regional Cacher Challenge III. Today we focussed on visiting as many LGAs as we could in a day and to find at least once cache in each of them. We were fortunate to visit 7 LGAs and find more than one cache in each of them.
Accurate coordinates and a familiar style of hide led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks josstaylor for the cache.

After having lunch and a bunch of fun at the All Ages Playground we stopped by to grab this cache while leaving town, nice quick find just after we parked.

The homeward journey from a great weekend in Albany and Denmark for WAGB21.
Today’s plan was more about keeping the kids entertained so we legged it to Katanning before even looking for a cache.
Picked up a couple of new LGA’s during the drive before lazy dinner and unpacking at home.

Thanks josstaylor for placing this cache for me to find, this is find number 3042 for me.

Kapelula, Meme28 and I C Nothing are once again hitting the roads for another geocaching geoadventure. This weekend we are heading to Kulin to turn some solved puzzles into smilies but along the away we will be finding many more as we pass through. A weekend full of laughs and adventure awaits. Logged as MIK. Cache found in good condition.
A quick park and grab on the way out of town on this wet afternoon. TFTH!

The start of a road trip to Denmark to hit roymerc caches and get a few different LGAs with Probsty.
The cache was an empty shell. No base or log. I taped a bison with a log in it. It should do until the CO has a look..

Thank you! I headed out on a super large day trip to find some caches I've had my eye on, due to their age or LGA, or because they contained clues for other caches. I left before dawn and was home after sunset, but saw so much of the countryside. Happy to make the find here.
We hadn’t been on a road trip for a while so the long weekend provided an opportunity to do a bit of planning and set a course for Katanning. We followed a meandering course from Perth collecting smilies along the way. This cache was one we had targeted for the trip. Cheers and TFTC.
