WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 25 - Cranbrook to Nyabing via Tambellup, Broomehill village and Katanning. I started with a tough multi, then did lots of roadside caches until Katanning and then started to explore the town also whilst doing a set of labs. The last part of the day was heading to Nyabing and a fantastic show ground camp ground, with under cover caravan parking. I watched yesterdays Grand Prix and am now sitting having dinner at the local gathering spot, not a pub called The Hub. Off to Kulin tomorrow and a series I have been wring on for some time but did not expect to get to, the Tin Horse Highway.I was happy that quite a few of today's caches were nice quick roadside caches, even if they were at some interesting location.Thanks for the cache josstaylor46867.17 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 2010 Antarctica A#187**Albida**

Out and about again, in Katanning to catch up with friends. Made an early morning caching session before the family (and locals) were up.Found a variety of hides and in different areas which made for a nice day. Generally quick finds todayThanks to all the COs for the hides I found.

Swiss geocachers on a journey through Western Australia.
Today we went from Katanning to Gnowangerup. First we looked for caches in Katanning before we went to the multi at the Police Pool Nature Reseve. There we liked the multi through the landscape very much. Further along the Great Southern Highway we also found all the caches targeted. So we reached Gnowangerup via the Horsepower Highway. Here, too, there were still finds. Many thanks to the owners for setting the caches.

Today the geocaching mission for TaurusSix and I was to try and obtain the FTF that we noticed came out in Katanning yesterday. We kept an eye on the post last evening and when we still noted it had not been found first thing this morning we decided to undertake the just over two hour drive to get to gz. The drive itself was very pleasant just after sunrise. Not that there was much of a sunrise because it is quite an overcast and showery day. Pleasantly cool too which is nice for geocaching. Once in Katanning and achieving the first to find we set about to find many of the other caches in the Katanning area.
This is our fifth cache of the day. Almost a drive by. Cache quickly located, logged and replaced. Surprised how busy this road was with traffic. TFTC

One of our targets for this trip to Western Australia was to attempt some challenges, in particular The Great Southern Challenge, The Great Southern Challenge II and The Regional Cacher Challenge III. Today we focussed on visiting as many LGAs as we could in a day and to find at least once cache in each of them. We were fortunate to visit 7 LGAs and find more than one cache in each of them.
Accurate coordinates and a familiar style of hide led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks josstaylor for the cache.

We had morning tea at the Dome (beautifully restored Flour Mill) and decided it was a beautiful, sunny, winter’s day, so we got the scooters out and went for a scoot around town.
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of Katanning.
We found all the caches we were looking for, nice and easy, except for the one little, that had a couple of dnfs, but absolutely rapt to come up trumps with a find, yes it was rather tricky.
A great series of Caches, thanks to the CO for sharing the wonderful locations around town.

We spent a cold wet weekend in Bremer Bay & wouldn’t you know it, just as we start to meander our way home the weather picks up & the sun comes out. We will do a spot of caching on the way, by way of compensation. TFTC Josstaylor
Touring the Great Southern using Geocachiing as our guide.
We headed out today from Kojonup and did a massive loop of some 420km. We saw some great historic locations, old schools, old halls, so much information shared with us today through Geocaching. We often say WA doesnt have the history of other States but boy you did us proud today.

Jumped out of the van and straight into the ditch full of water!!!! Duh!!!!

Myself and KiwiNic are on a geocaching adventure weekend to the Katanning area in the hope to complete our 100 for the month and get the turtle souvenir our 1st in town is a quick drive by TFTC:)

Hi there josstaylor - we left Katanning today headed first for Narrogin and then home to Armadale. This cache was a quick find before leaving town and the container and log are both in good condition. Thanks to josstaylor for this cache - our find #5767.
Out and about on a two day road trip through parts of the Great Southern with grandma allinaday. We visited many interesting spots and saw lots of interesting things. We also found many great caches, so TFTC and the fun we had searching for them.

Great no muggles around.Okay spoke too soon, THIS is our last cache for today! I had to make up our cache count today to 15 so thanks for this quickie. Geoman is sitting patiently in the passenger side, has cracked open a stubby and is well and truly ready to go home to Albs. TFTH!
