Today I took advantage of the Nambour show holiday and made a last-minute decision to tackle Kenilworth Bluff. Solo, but undeterred by the hazardous terrain, I scaled the shortcut and bush bashed across the entire bluff and made it back off the mountain just after sunset. Bruised, beaten, lost at least twice, but victorious nonetheless. As I continued to trek Westward across the bluff, I made my way to this cache. I was certainly surprised by the setup! I soon had the cache in hand and back where it belongs. Interesting to note that between my visit, and the visit of ATLH and smallwombat, there have been about 4 or 5 sets of muggles who have signed the logsheet. I have met Nyssa once, a month or two ago at a CITO. I didn't get to talk to her much, but she is very lovely and this is a fitting tribute up here. I stopped to have my lunch here at the lookout and look down across the valley, seeing my little green warthog as a tiny speck at the bottom! Even more fitting for the cache theme, there were a bunch of Variegated Fairy-Wrens hopping about the grass as I had my lunch. Beautiful little things. Thanks for the cache dahumbug!
What can I say? This is hands down the best view up here! Glad to see Nyssa got ftf on this. I recounted my personal experience with the lovely tributee to my caching buddy as we sat admiring the outlook (and taking about a million photos). Then we had fun with the cache. What’s not to love about this one? It has everything ️
What a beautiful tribute cache this is.
A fun find and capture and then a stunning view to sit and sign.
I had a grin from ear to ear here for the whole time we were here.
Although i've never met nyssaflutterby I've heard many a tale of her loveliness so she must have been well humbled upon finding it herself.
Good times. Have another favourite point for the fun and the view!

And another cache set up here showing your determination and always willing to help character. Another fav point!
Finally I made it up the Kenilworth Bluff - as a part of the group Dupper'sM+Ms when we took off after the Magic Maker Event.
It was a long day getting to all those finals, the waypoints inbetween and putting out new caches. It took about 8 hours from leaving at the carpark to get back there: up and down, up and down, again and again. But I made it.

The top of the bluff is such a lovely place: the pain of the stairs and the ascent is forgotten as you walk on a soft bed of casuarina leaves (I think), and walk around the "Plants Formerly known as Black Boys".
In the attempt to preserve my iPhone's battery life, I had it on Airplane Mode, and so just followed our fearless leader from cache to cache. On arriving here, I firstly just enjoyed the view, which was excellent. Then it was suggested that I look around to see a cache. As is my habit, I looked down, which was the wrong decision, of course. Once the error of my ways was pointed out, the cache was spotted, removed from its hiding place and the log signed. The CO then set about doing some maintenance on the cache. The next people who attempt the cache should be able to see it a lot quicker than I did.
A cool and creative cache. FP from me for this one, as I'm a sucker for a 'different' cache. Thanks dahumbug for the tour of your bluff and the fun cache.

It was an enjoyable (challenging at times) adventure up to the Bluff today. Walking towards GZ Dick spotted the great set up here. It was a surprise to see my favourite cache container hanging around. After getting to the log we signed it and replaced it back as found. Definitely a favourite for this one! Thanks chaos theory and dahumbug.
Teamed up with Janet (janetwil) today to make an ascent on Kenilworth Bluff. The weather started foggy/misty but soon cleared to beautiful blue skies. I wasn't sure how I would get on with this hike after reading previous logs as it appeared quite a challenge. We took the long route round which I managed ok.
This one reminded me of one of the Evil caches by Scrub Bull, definitely deserves a favourite point for the fun. We decided to turn back from here as it was well into the afternoon and we didn't fancy making the descent in the dark - we'll have to come back for the others. TFTC dahumbug

We reckon this one’s a pretty good dedication cache.
From the first time we met Nyssaflutterby on a random occasion in Casino New South Wales, we knew she was a good soul. we just happened to meet her out in the field as we were doing a series of hides by Seemyshell.
It was just one puzzle we had not solved, and although we were strangers, she helped us out. It was a genuine act of a friendly Geocacher. ( Thanks Nyssa)!
Fast forward to the top of Kenilworth Bluff, and we definitely give this one a favourite point for the view, the adventure and the kind person we have met in who’s honour this one is placed.
Thanks Dahumbug

This cache actually made me cry
Maybe because I lost my phone in the last hour or so... and emotion caught up with me for a brief moment. No, not that.
The fact that the cache is indeed still beautiful, very girly (pink paint, cute dolly inside) or that she over looks another beautiful spot on the mountain - or the combination of what I mentioned.
I do love how simple she is placed, right there so easy to find.
(I do want to mention more but don't want to give her away for next finder )
For all Flutterby's (girls that cache?) - this cache is simply one of the best caches!

Another awesome view with a nice rocky to outcrop to sit on and enjoy it as our group of Bug's bugs emerged from the grass tree (Xanthorrhoea) forest. We were on a dahumbug guided expedition put together by Davidwazza for the A Worthy Bluff Bug Bash event, giving us the opportunity to finally come up here.
This was an ingenious placement even though in plain sight. I'm amazed someone ( I suppose it was you, dahumbug...) carried all this gear up here to set it up. Great royal looking guardian straight out of Westeros, but no butterfly wings to speak of anymore. As my name, Vanessa, means butterfly, I am always partial to a butterfly themed cache, so will give a favourite point when I earn some more.
Another good rest and refresh and chat, with some blue sky appearing to brighten the view as well. Really an amazing spot!

Kenilworth Bluff time. This climb has been on the list for quite sometime. So crew today were Snickersallan, The Green Geckos, Muggle65, Davidwazza, spiderwebbs4, FlutterbySquishy, and the special guest Dahumbug.
I had a good chat with everyone, we all had lots of fun today. It was a big walk and I was bit sore at the finish.
So today we had two cacher finish a loop. The Green Geckos 16th and Dahumbug 14th. For me I found my 7000 yippee.
My haul today was 13. The breakdown was 4 mystery, 2 wherigo, 2 multi, 2 letterbox, 2 traditional and the event.

Today, the primary plan was the hike up Kenilworth Bluff. An early departure had me driving via Montville, detouring past the northern side of Lake Baroon to check out the spillway. I then made a few driveby stops before arriving and setting off on our group hike and attending the *A Worthy Bluff Bug Bash* Event. It was a long walk around the bluff's plateau to the extent of the nature reserve, before returning back just as the light began to fade. I then made the drive back home connecting to the M1 highway via Gheerulla, following the quickest route.
The Kenilworth Bluff hike consisted of Brislions, dahumbug, FlutterbySquishy, kungfuchickendingo, Muggle65, Snickersallan, spiderwebbs4, THE GREEN GECKOS and I, and we departed around 09:15 hr from the car park, and arrived back around 17:30 hr, so it turned out to be an epic/long day. My statistics recorded the total distance of 12.3 km, covering an elevation of 646 m. I was nervous about the previous days' weather in the region, however the forecasts were correct with it clearing up over Friday evening, and we had good hiking weather all day today. We also had some terrific views from the bluff, having full 180 degree views across the valleys and hills/mountains. We took the Bug shortcut up, which turned out to be a great route, and then continued along the bluff following loose trails north-west to the nature refuge's boundary, before proceeding back, and then taking the defined track down skirting around the bluff. There had been a few washouts and landslides since dahumbug had previously hiked up here, which meant it was slow going returning back. Highlights within the group included Brislions' 7000th fine, and D-T loops gained by dahumbug (14th loop) and THE GREEN GECKOS (16th loop). Unfortunately, FlutterbySquishy's phone was a casualty early on as she attempted to follow the Wherigo adventure. A detailed search and endless phone calls failed to unearth it, and it became a sacrifice to the Bluff. Overall a great but tiring day out!
Another spot with awesome views. If the views weren't good enough, then the added themed sculpture and cache mechanism wins a Favourite Point from me. The cache container and logbook were in good shape, and we signed the logbook as "Bug's Bugs" in order to save space. Thanks chaos theory and dahumbug for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Loved the view from this one. Especially the little group of Matchbox cars waaaay down there. The cache guardian was also beautiful and she is surviving very well in the elements. Thank you for getting us here
I thought the view was great back at the last cache…. NAH!!! This one is spectacular. Great cache fav point
A walk on Bugs Bluff has been on the to do list for some time. At least a few things lined up and the weather was ok too. From the road the right of way for the trail was seen spotted and down the long grass we went. Certainly a lot of water has been through the area as can be seen from the photo of the car in the creek or is that the alternative waypoint for the parking co-ords. A 4.5h round trip which should have been done a little fast but work calls had me over shooting by a few hundred meters for some caches at times. A bit of wild life around and great views up top.
It took a little to spot the way up when leaving the track but once far enough off the track a new one appeared. Some loose items on the way up but soon the top was reached. Nice short cut. Great to find an ammo can and had to flutter a bit to reach it. We completed the signing duties as we took in the view.
A fav pt

Loved this cache! Had to share it on my insta story My fav for the day so dropping a FP I found half a paper butterfly in a tree nearby - I wasn’t sure of this part of something, or a relic of an older cache perhaps..
Not far off there was a rock platform where a hush turkey was just staring off at the view - certainly would be a nice place to live TFTC

This is about the third or fourth tribute cache to her that I’ve done. Only met Nysaa once at a cache with an intriguing rope knot thing we had to underdo to open the chest. I was out with my mum and we had Ben there for a little while when her and MinnieMoo came across us. We had a good chat and together they expertly undid the knot. I was very grateful as it was a large cache and I needed them for a challenge I was working on at the time.
I really liked this container. Continuing to enjoy the flat terrain at the top here, but the path keeps disappearing! TFTC.
Fourth of 10 for the day.
By now I was making really good time heading west along the plateau. I think on every hike you hit that sweet spot when the endorphins and the natural surroundings put you in a zone where you’re just completely content with how the day is unfolding. Let’s call it the “pre-fatigue zone”. That was me right now, making my way from Coolumroo to The Flutterby Effect. (Might have had something to do with the Snickers bar back at Coolumroo...)
This was another cool little opening from the thick cover of vegetation on the plateau, and another great cache.
I haven’t met Nyssa, but she very kindly replaced a missing cache of mine just a little while back, so it doesn’t surprise me that she’s been so helpful and friendly on your caching journey, dahumbug! Great cache, thanks.

Getting to this point was truely an achievement for me and I appreciated the easier tracks up here to finally catch my breath.
The views when we arrived at this cache were spectacular, although when we dropped by a little later as we headed back down the views had been replaced by a complete white out and we were about to get wet.
Great spot to to stop for a snack and then it was on to our next target.

Our 'Kenny Krew' continued onto our third cache of the morning & what a great cache it was in my favourite colour! This was also a great place to stop & have some morning tea & admire the magnificent view - we could even see our cars looking like tiny matchbox cars in the distance. Lucky we got to admire the view at this point in time as on our way back the clouds had rolled in & there was a complete white out & the view had completed disappeared. I'm really enjoying this relatively flat walk across the ridge chatting with some great company.

What a shame so many butterflies have fluttered away but still a lovely and fitting cache to a lovely lady.
Beautiful spot. Log signed view admired. Clouds noted. Not sure how much longer we are going to stay dry for.

Another lovely tribute cache to a friend and what a beauty, absolutely loved this one and the views were quite nice even with it being overcast. A small rest, some pics and the 'Kenny Krew" moved on to the next one.

I looked and looked and looked but just could not find Nyssaflutterby. It's been ages since I saw her last. She's a good person and it was neat to find this tribute cache which I had heard about before. We also found some fabulous views, a great cache and cache guardian, and a few other neat things in the area! The views are beaut from here and luckily we stopped long enough to enjoy them as the weather turned a little not long after and the views disappeared.
Thanks for the cache, chaos theory and dahumbug!

Following on from the previous hide we continued down the track. Stopping at this one I couldn’t believe that the views could get better than the previous but somehow they did.
With our names in log it was time to have a bite to eat and enjoy the views a bit more before moving on to the next one.
Thanks for bringing us to another great spot dahumbug

An event was called to hike this mountain and surprisingly quite a big number of parties showed interest.
Off we went for a 7 hour adventure. The CO was a great tour guide for the day and put a few extra surprises up for us. Even the rain couldn't stop us having fun all way long.
Thanks for a great day hike and excellent caches!

A large group, organised by georode, documented by E_smiley and caches for motivation and entertainment provided by the generous bug.
A 0630 meeting at the parking lot had me leaving home before 0430, only madly keen geocaches are up at that time. Picked up Beardmand and georode and finally a coffee at the Kenilworth servo on my way to the parking.
Cold and windy at the lookout.
Dropping an FP here, just because I can
Thank you again dahumbug for the entertainment on the bluff

Thanks for the cache chaos theory and dahumbug. This was the 3rd cache for the Kenny Crew. Just a short walk from the last Traditional.
The views were spectacular. We had a short break here for selfies, snacks and more photos.
I'm not sure I've met Nyssaflutterby yet. Must be a nice person to get a cache tribute.

I joined my first geocaching group hike today and it was a good hike to join! Collected all 9 caches on Kenilworth Bluff, covering almost 10kms. The day started off overcast but dry and we could see the top of the bluff from the car park. Good thing we took a photo at the start because by the end it was covered in clouds we were all pretty wet!
It was a tough start climbing over 300 stairs but then descending again once we reached the top! We trudged along, up and down and then scrambled our way up the rocks to the top. Once up the walk along the top was pretty good, a bit of bush bashing here and there but we had some good views early in the walk before the clouds rolled in and covered them up.
The climb down the ridge line was interesting as the rain started about half way through the walk and made the rocks wet. Slipping and sliding we all made it down in one piece!
It was a great day out with great people and it was good to tick off some more spots in my D/T grid. A massive thanks to the CO who has put a great range of caches on the mountain and for guiding us along the way.
This was an easy find at our morning tea spot. Great views from here and our cars looked so tiny! Loved the container here, deserves a favourite point.

I was invited along on today's outing by fellow cacher's, Orange Crew, Chamad and CO Dahumbug who would be carrying out some maintenance and checking in on his cache's.
After a strenuous climb up the steps, and a bush bash up to the ridge it was almost a relaxing walk along the top of the Bluff. By relaxing i mean getting whipped in the face by the grass trees, stumbling over the uneven ground, walking into the monstrous spider webs and their inhabitants, dodging the leeches and sliding on the wet ground AND we bloody loved it.
This cache was a real stand out up on the Bluff and it's great that it hasn't been muggled or tampered with over time. Once again great views in this spot over looking the valley below.

The going was much easier along the top, and so the conversation flowed easily too. The topics were wide and varied, and there were plenty of "remember when" epithets flying around.
Before long we were at the stunning escarpment with wide expanses of greenery views. Oh, and the cache! We turned around and there it was, a little faded and chapped but still unique and stunning.
Great job setting up a tribute to one of the loveliest cachers around! An FP is a no brainer here.

Out today with Orange Crew and Team Tyrrell to continue my challenges of a trad a day and a cache a day, plus grab a few fun and different caches. I had mentioned to the guys I needed a few special caches a few weeks back and a plan was made to complete the 8 or so outside Kenilworth and up on the bluff. We were lucky enough to have the CO to join us on our hike as well, who also wanted to set a few more in the area.
Some flat bushy land, lined with natures biggest and best spiders and webs, a path that seemed to appear and then disappear just as quickly, but it was fun listening to the chatter along the way, stories of old times echoed along in the trees.
Now I thought the last spot was pretty this place was even better, though the wind was hitting the bluff and coming straight over and was quite cool, which was nice for the first couple of minutes.
Cache was found nice and dry, a TB was dropped here and with log signed and cache returned it was onto the next one. The walk along the top is just great, a cooling breeze and a not to dense bush land and an easy navigate.
Thank you for placing this one here for us.

Saturday. Lots of black boy plants through here and it’s lovely! Lots more bush bashing had us to near GZ. We (4ando, Woody and son and myself) soon had the cache guardian in hand. Didn’t see any butterflies though but did see a real butterfly or two on this trip, so I think they decided to take flight around this beautiful area. We took lots of great pics here – how could we not, the view is simply breathtaking! We could even see where the geomobiles were parked way down there. A lovely tribute to a lovely person.
This was the 4th of 7 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***dahumbug***, for showing us this place.

We took lots of great pics here – how could we not, the view is simply breathtaking! We could even see where the geomobiles were parked way down there. A lovely tribute to a lovely person.
This was the 4th of 7 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***dahumbug***, for showing us this place.
When I was a kid, trees were good for climbing or providing shade. I understand they also convert carbon dioxide to oxygen through a process called photosyntheshit but who knew they are also good for naturally creating impenetrable walls of pain and I like a good penetration.
We seemed to be squeezing through so many trees and they were multiplying like a virus. I had taken my jumper off and when I got to GZ I was bleeding more than a football team supporter whose team has finished at the bottom of the competition. I didn’t feel any of the scratches but after giving this much blood I won’t feel guilty about not donating blood although I will miss the expired biscuits, skanky cordial and over-friendly rub on the backside and propositions from some elderly volunteer.
I have to give a favourite point for an excellent spot with a great view. Up until this point I was more focused on how many swear words you could fit in a sentence without a conjunction. Only kidding, I know the answer.
After spotting the cache, this place was always going to be gold for a phlog. I thought about dropping an EarthCache here, but that requires knowledge, a useless love of rocks and an intimate hate for all other geocachers. tftc

We came on this walk with the intention of finding 6 caches, and so far everything is falling into place and we are halfway through. Everyone was starting to cry about their war injuries and blood was being lost like a platoon at war. But since everyone had their own injuries to deal with there was no sympathy left to share. We had no morphine with us so we had to push through.
Arriving at GZ we were all amazed with the spectacular view, no more trees grabbing us or rocks trying to take us out. We could even see where the cars were parked way off in the distance where we started, this made us realise how far we had climbed up.
After taking in the view, we signed the log being careful to not to have any mishaps and then view or no view, we had more fantastic plastics up here to find. Leaving FP for the view and the cache.

After a short track thru the bush ,the cache guard was looking good doing her job , this reminded me of another evil cache, log signed , break was taken,me cussing Konie about my throbbing finger still , transport still in view .

Onwards towards this one and a bit more bush bashing as the ungrowth was a bit thicker and more ground litter. I don't mind admitting I stumbled into GZ and called a break. [xx(] Was time to sit down and eat something and drink more.
The cache is a beauty and had been found by muggle bush walkers and log signed, that was interesting.
When we looked out at Konies cars, way down there, it looked so far away. At least going back was going to be down hill.
A favourite point for the view and rest stop.

This was our next and the scub was a bit thicker but we soon arrived at GZ and the interesting hide was soon in hand.
The log was retrieved and it was interesting to read all the muggle visitors comments.
After signing the log the cache was returned as found and it was time for some fuel while enjoying the views.
A FP as it's a great spot for lunch.

found today in the company of a great group of fellow cachers Swellerfungus, SayWot,. JezNDez, VikoCZ & Walandor Goldielover not with us now as a last minute phone call changed things here. We all camped at Charlie Morelands last night except Saywot who met us this morning at the designated parking spot.
A nice enjoyable hike down to some stairs the start of a great days hiking. Quite some staircacs here which I really enjoyed. Although it got the heart rate up a little. Loved the cache here and enjoyed the remainder through out the remainder or the hike. We took the short cut straight up from the second cache which I think we were all really greatful of. May have been a little bit of a scramble for a short distance but great fun. Did not take too long before we were at the top enjoying some magic views. The cars looking very lonely way below us. Very pleasant walk along the flat up here grabing the well placed caches along the way. A little bush bash at one stage but soon out in the open where we met up with a red belly black out sunning itself. We pushed past it out to the Bluff end and had a nice rest and bite to eat. VickoCZ checked out his G-Earth maps and decided a little gap in the trees ment a track back to very near our last remaing caches up here. Off we head to check out his observation. Nice stroll up the fence line to the track. Yes it was spot on and delivered us easily to with in 80 metres of our target. Very impressed!
The rest of the hike now mostly down was now taken in our stride until the short climb up to the cars.
All safely back and now into Kenilworth Pub for a well earned Beer and lunch.
Thanks dahumbug for your great caches. Had a ball up here.

Found with the crew listed below - They all summarized the day of adventure very well. Thanks for the cache.
The call went out via Enriquez the pool guy (he’s from What3words, Bolivia) that Kenilworth was the place to be this weekend. And as fast as you can say “what’s that Lifestraw doing in a poodles backside” we had a group of 6 choosing to head off on Friday after work to camp at Charlie Moorland campground, and one or two to maybe come the next morning.
After fighting the Friday afternoon traffic, we finally managed to get together for a nutritious gluten free, vegetarian, sugarless and halaal McDonalds feast. After stocking up on life’s necessities, including a stop at the local bottle-o, we finally made it to camp.
It was here that the capricious nature of our evanescent neighbors shone through. What lovely people they were – full of love for there fellow camper!
A night of stories around the campfire ensued, telling of good deeds, knobs, showers and free beer. Finally the night came to an end, as Viktor demanded an early start so that he would have time to do his hair and makeup before heading out.
As we pull up at our start point, we meet up with SayWot!, and one of us decides to pull out (the group was particularly nonremittal about this), leaving the 6 of us to tackle the hill. What followed was a rollicking day of laughs due to some sterling Dad jokes in preparation for the following day I expect!
What a great walk. We managed the scramble up to the ridge, and used some impressive and creative navigational skills to find a hidden road from our furthest cache of the day directly to our last two. I dips me lid to our master navigator of the day.
A few shaky legs on the way back to that car, and that last hill up to the car park is just a bit OTT really.
Thanks to my companions, and to all the CO’s for bringing me back to this wonderful walk.

A lovely meander along the nice flat ridge to get this, a pleasant change from the ‘up, down, more up… a bit of down, just kidding; UP!’ it took to get up here!
This is a great cache, and from reading the logbook, much visited by muggles. Hopefully a few of whom are subsequently converted to cachers!

to add next point to an "overnight hike" statistics, we had to start friday evening driving to one of the camping places nearby. interesting is that i was navigating to the wrong one, but arrived to the correct one - how cool i'm not sure why were our neighbors called capricious and evanescent (sorry, i know it's cowardly), they just probably prefer snoring better than talking about using life straws to drink from poodles.
there were few highlights of the trip, i'd sort them as follows:
1. stairman lending me very comfy mat
2. dem exchanging my warm beer to cold one
3. simon not hurting much himself as usual
everything else was okay, we found few nice caches, saw red belly sneak, enjoyed good path, enjoyed bad path, fantastic views, panoramatic rim descent and i've learned few new words like puddle, nonremittal (even windows correction didn’t know it) and that buffalo wings are not made of buffalo.
thanks a lot for inviting me to this trip and all COs for placing caches at this lovely area!

Really beautiful cache. Enjoyed the set up and nice views. I saw some muggle logs before mine and after the last finder. I have been in this area before to do Stairway to Possibilities. I thought I wouldn't come back, But then I felt the rest of the Kennilworth bluff caches calling my name for a return visit. I went a different more enjoyable way this time and admired the huge rock formations. Before I even got into the walk right bacjk at the start as I was heading toward the bridge I saw a 2m long skinny black snake on my right. I let out an involuntary girly scream. I think I scared the snake and it slithered across the path and down the embankment very quickly. I don't know who was more scared. Out here nobody can hear you scream.
CDAH55 identified the caches on Kenilworth bluff as being unloved and we organised with Dora the Explorer! to find them today. Unfortunately, Dora couldn't make it in the end so it was just CDAH55 and myself.
CDAH55 had some insider knowledge saying that the best way to go is straight up the spur rather than down into the gully so this is the cache we came to first. Co-incidentally, I met the CO at an event tonight and he said that it's actually slower to take the spur. I wish I'd met him last night. LOL.
The walk up the spur was straightforward but steep. Very steep. And, because we approached this cache from the wrong side, we missed the butterflies which we noticed when we came back past a couple of hours later.
When we arrived at GZ, I stood on the rock and admired the view for a while before turning an spotting the cache which was definitely not where I expected to see it.

We had planned to grab all the caches from Kennilworth Bluff to show them some love and attention. Initially the arrangements were made with Dora the Explorer and Venn Family x 1 to take on the chaallenge but unfortunately Dora the Explorer was unable to make it so Venn Family x1 and I met the challenge.
After the walk through many bushes and spikey plants we made it to a clearing that had an exposed rock that provided good views of the surrounding countryside. We stopped here for a moment to catch our breath and admire the views before setting about grabbing the cache.
This cache is definately one with a difference and a favourite point must be awarded for the creativity that went on to establish this cache.
When the cache was in hand, we returned to our sitting platform, completed the formalities and returned the cache to its location.
All is good with this cache.

I had made a posting about doing a walk up Northbrook Mountain and ended up hiking up Kennilworth Bluff but that is part of another story. So today the suspects who kinly offered to let me come along for the ride (well walk) included teamdfl, Brother Colin, IolantheK and T-Tech.
Now somewhere I recall a sign which said Kenilworth Bluff Family Park , fun yes and the other bits are right but I wonder how a family might go with that stairway, the steep gully and the near non existent trails. That said we all had a great day out on these parts.
Stopped here for a little snack after locating the cache. Views are not too shabby around here. Lucky for us the rain across the next ridgeline never made its way across to our little hill.

Out and about today for a big hike with a group of fellow geocachers. The group consisted of teamdfl, IolantheK, T-tech, Ruzzelz and myself.
With a stupid o'clock start we headed north arriving at the start just before 9am.
with several caches planned to on we had to make sure we did not miss any way point information along the way.
Down first then let the UP begin with a warm up of 320+ stairs. Yes someone counted. Then a short down before the UP begins properly.
This cache was the fourth we actually signed after reaching the top. Another quick find here and this is where we stopped for lunch. [^]
I even managed to fix a broken Flutterby.
Four down, a few more to go.
Thanks for the cache.

Was there more up to this one. Absolutely. I think there was probably some down to and certainly a bit of along. We knew we were getting close when the butterflies started to appear.
More butterflies and then a fairy too. Oh yes, a cache as well. Brother Colin did the honours of accessing the cache. We replaced the big butterfly who had taken a tumble. She was a bit worse for wear, but still alive. We also fixed up a few little ones who had tumbled down.
This was a great spot to stop and boil the billy. We watched a band of rain pass through the valley in front of us while we were sitting here. The clouds were quite dark in that direction, but luckily we missed it all. [^]
A very fitting cache indeed. Nice work Mr Bug. A favourite point well earned as usual.

Today was the day for a big adventure teamdfl and I were keen to get one of this CO's caches up on Kenilworth Bluff for a Challenge we are working on, and of course while we're up there, we'd better grab the lot! So we called in some buddies who we thought were up for the adventure (T-Tech, Brother Colin and ruzzelz) and after meeting up bright and early this morning everyone piled into the Pajero and we headed north.
After a couple of hours of hard slog getting up onto this hill, collecting the two multis, noting the numbers for a puzzle and grabbing the nearby traditional, we finally reached this one! Loved all the decorations at this one. One happy little fairy here [^] This was also our lunch stop. TFTC, dahumbug.

Up rather early, met at the rendez-vous location, pile into one car and make for Kenilworth [^]
So begins the 12.5Kms of teamdfl, Brother Colin, Ruzzelz, IolantheK and I all over Kenilworth Bluff Family Park
This cache was the second or third of the second of fourth cache and the first of the two multis or was that...well I found this one [:o)] Such was my mind after Multis crossed over puzzles and Traditionals
All I really know was we did lots of "walking", and came back after seeing some great views with some awesome company [^]
Arriving at GZ we were transported to a fairy kingdom A bit of maintenance was done by BC as he collected fairy bits and reassembled them so that they might fly again [^] then is was onto another puzzle or multi...I think [^]

Today's mission was simple. Get all the caches on this big rock, survive in the process and hit that sweet 500 finds!!
Started the day off at around 8 am, thought to myself "heck, ill smash these out in an hour or so." Boy was I wrong. Followed the path to the way point suggested that i start climbing. I thought this cant be right. quick look on the map suggested I was kidding myself, so I started my ascent! Reached the top and explored from there!
This cache was the first one, and find number 499. Very obvious once I arrived at the GZ.
I highly recommend these caches to anyone who is up for a serious challenge. I can honestly say you work for those D / T ratings!

After an arduous trek, we arrived on the top of the range. At GZ, it was obvious.

Gotcha !!! An invite to climb Kenilworth Bluff with Austpark and look for some challenging dahumbug caches was too good to resist. After climbing the "stairway to the stars " and then a minor skirmish with a patch of lantana we arrived at the top quite close to GZ. Fantastic views and an interesting cache to find...What more could you ask for. A Fav. Point from me . Now on to the next. TFTC
When I first learnt about this cache I was eager to make my way up here. Unfortunately being very busy with moving and other challenges there was just no time I watched the cache page hoping the *FTF* would still be there when I finally had a chance.
Fast forward to this weekend and I was lucky enough to have a small amount of munchkin free time. So plans were made to trek up the Bluff An early morning start for dabom81 and myself saw us walking over the first creek crossing at 6.01 am. Having been here before made the climb easier this time around. We knew where the tricky parts were and managed to be up on the ridge quicker today. We found Coolumroo and then continued on to this cache.
As we came closer I started noticing small, beautiful butterflies all about the place. What a delight! My smile certainly grew The butterflies led the way and soon I spotted the very pink cache and the gorgeous faerie guarding it. WOW! I ventured closer and found that the large butterfly that was supposed to be attached to the cache had spread its wings and floated to the ground. I figured out how to free the cache and soon I was sitting on the rock ledge enjoying the view and opening the cache.
Haha! More faeries I opened the logbook to find that I was indeed the first to find. Woohoo! I left my autograph and then close the cache back up. After a bite to eat and a few photos, I replaced the cache back as it had been found but with wings attached
Thank you dahumbug Not only for this lovely gesture but for your friendship and the fun times we have shared. Definitely a favourite point from me.

THIS IS NOT A FTF LOG! Eatmorchikin and I were hunting FTFs that were still up for grabs in the area. We had all our gear prepped and were just about to leave the car when another vehicle arrived. Who should jump out but the CO and Coolumroo, out today to place a new cache in the area. They kindly let us accompany them up the hill to place this cache, and let us stop off along the way to grab some other caches in the area. With those found (and what great caches they were too!) it was off to do the hard work to set this cache up. I was amazed to see the hard work that had gone in to preparing this special cache by the CO, as well as him putting up with some jovial ribbing about certain features of the cache while carrying them up the hill . It was a privilege to be able to contribute in a small way to the setup of this cache. After admiring the handiwork we all moved on to find some other caches nearby. I hope many more people get to enjoy this cache. Logging find with permission of CO. TFTC.
