### **OWNER MAINTENANCE REQUIRED PLEASE** ###
----------
Hi there Spock1967,
It looks like this cache might need some attention, as one or more seekers have indicated there is an issue. The cache has been temporarily disabled, so as to remove it from search listings and discourage people from visiting this location until the issues/s with this cache can be addressed.
**You do need to respond in some way within 14 days, so others know you are on top of it, as well as indicating exactly what is happening with this placement - please don't let a lack of communication scuttle this listing.**
#What should you do now:-#
You have a number of choices so pick the one that applies from this handy list:-
- **Check On The Cache:-** Visit the cache and repair and/or replace or do whatever else is needed, post an [**Owner Maintenance log**](http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=404) indicating the cache has been checked and [**ENABLE your cache**](https://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=235 ). Then sit back and wait for the logs of praise to roll in.
- **Place A Write Note Log::-** Reviewers are not mind readers (unfortunately), so without your note on the cache page explaining that the site works are on-going, you have been in hospital, the area is in flood, or some other reason that has prevented attending to the cache, they can't tell what is going on.
So please just post a note to the page (within 14 days) and when a Reviewer next looks at the listing, all will be fine for a little bit longer.
**Be sure to indicate the actual date that you expect to have it fixed so that everyone knows you are on top of it. If you have a long term unavailable cache (where you don't have an actual date) please ensure you visit the page and post a note every 4 to 6 weeks, so as to keep everyone up to speed.**
- **Adopt/Archive:-** If you don't plan on fixing it then you could consider passing it on to another geocacher by asking them to [**Adopt it**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=54) or alternatively, you need to [**Archive it**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=56), so it is removed from searches and someone else can have the spot. Don't forget to remove any remnants of your previously enjoyed cache too.
You might wonder what happens if you don't pick one of those. Well, if nothing happens, then a few weeks from today, when a Reviewer next looks at the cache page, it is likely that they will, unfortunately, have to de-list (Archive) on the basis that it has been abandoned.
Honestly, I'd rather you decide so please do something before then. Please don't send me an email but instead follow the information/advice posted above.
**JUST A TIP:-** Have you checked out the Geocaching Dash Board designed to assist a Cache Owner in managing the caches they own? Have a read about it [**HERE.**](https://www.geocaching.com/blog/2020/07/welcome-to-the-cache-owner-dashboard/?newsletter=PM) You will find your very own dash board [**HERE**](https://www.geocaching.com/play/owner?utm_source=geocaching&utm_medium=blog&utm_campaign=COD).

Brilliant cache! Needs new log book and bag in it- one of my favourite finds ever!
Found -- 9:55 am -- Thanks for bringing us to this location and Thanks for the hunt *Spock1967*.
**Cache Condition:** Soggy and wet inside.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Nothing.
**Trackables:** None seen today.
**The Cache**
Dead man walking huh! Interesting name for an interesting cache. Cache tricked us good.
We had the cache in hand but couldn't sign the log because of this problem. Unfortunately I didn't bring my caching kit with us for times like this when a fix is needed. I've taken some photos of the cache and attached to log.
**The Day**
I am surprised, I have not done and solid caching for over a year. It is so nice to be out and enjoying nature again.
OCW *Mr TOC*, *Little Panther* and *DustyJapserJet* on a much welcome and impromptu overnight run to somewhere unknown, well... ... I did consider a night in Grenfell if we could get a bed there. With nothing booked we threw some clothes in a bag, grabbed some trackables for distribution and were out the door quicker than a scared jack rabbit. Element of surprise Mr TOC, element of surprise. I'm sure he was surprised I moved so quick and left him spinning [:-D].
We found a room at the local motel, definitely a *Pokemon* players delight with something like four poke stops and two gyms that can be played all night long from the comfort of your bed. With a few extra steps to the fence-line there are about three more that can be played.
We went to see the Grenfell Silo Art which was stunning, and wanted to go to Harden to see their but didn't have time. Caches to maintain, find and the need to get home for work tonight.
Had the most brilliant time away - happy wifey.

Requires some love and attention, soggy, wet and mushy inside bag. Requires a new container with logbook.
What a great story and an amazing resilient man. Please ignore the previous post it is not just a tin of concrete but an actual cache. It does need a new paper for logging as there was nothing there so couldn’t sign. That must have been heavy a great ideas. Tftc
**This Cache:**
An interesting walk through this little laneway of trees, between the private property's! Had to be careful of the long grass and weave my way through the branches but I was soon at GZ!
I found the cache immediately, but quickly discarded it as rubbish and continued searching. I was starting to fear the cache was missing when I returned to the original spot and investigated further.
That is a fantastic hide, you tricked me good! Unfortunately it does need maintenance as it is quite wet, I have uploaded a photo of my signature on an old card that was inside, it was the only thing I could sign. Regardless I will be giving this a favourite point as this was a unique hide that I thoroughly enjoyed!
---
**Today:**
Day 1 of my road trip heading towards Townsville in NQ!
Today I had an early work shift, and left just after lunchtime! Managed to squeeze 5 cache finds in today, didn't want to get any too close to home but got a few rural ones! Ended up driving as far as Albert, NSW, which had a nice campground to stay at. Off the highway meant it was a peaceful night with only a few other campers around! Cooked dinner in Forbes before the sun went down but squeezed in a little bit further to make the next couple of days more leisurely!

Geocaching always leads us to some fascinating places. After reading the cache description we couldn’t resist the detour to search for the cache. I wonder if Mr Joyce kept the track mown. This cache was a really lovely way to honour his memory.
We enjoyed finding your cache today as part of our memorable road trip beyond Victoria. We also took a TB to continue its journey. The log was very wet and coming apart. Thanks for the cache.

Day 4 of a 4 day road trip. Today was from Cobar back to Canberra. Mostly just a few widely spaced park and grabs to break up the journey. Cache easily found. Left TB. TFTC.

Found it!! After a bit of a walk into the unknown with slightly addicted
We are staying in Grefell for the night so we could get the caches in town. This is one we found. Almost had us fooled. TFTC Spock1967
What a cool story and a great cache. While we did not see a ghost the wind came up so hard when we got there and froze us, it was so cold.
On a mini tour heading west with Kittykatch. Wonderful weather to be outside enjoying.

What an eerie story but great to hear about some local history. Cool big cache too. Found with Joolay on a roadtrip to Forbes. Thanks for hiding this cache Spock1967
At first we thought we needed to walk up someone’s drive, but then a bit further on realised that the trees actually lined a disused laneway. A small hike on a rough bit of land to get to this one.
A lovely memorial to someone who had such an important, but extremely sad job. We hope he was respected by the locals during his lifetime.
Struggled to get the container opened, had a chuckle and then signed the log a bit later.
Today we said farewell to Temora and moved on the short distance fo Grenfell. We picked up a few caches en route and arrived mid morning and set up in the donation camp at the Old Railway Station. A lovely setting with the restored station and a playground nearby. Only sharing it with one other! We then checked out the local area caching breaking it with lunch and a coffee at one of the local cafes. The scenery here with its rolling plains and hills is quite different to home. The storm clouds rolling in over the nearby mountains were spectacular.
As for the nearby silo art, amazing.
Thank you to the local cachers. A mixture of hides and a couple quite clever.

I found this cache very sobering.
I feel I possibly treated it with more respect than the grave yard. I really put myself in the context of a man walking to and fro his workplace. It was a nice day today, I was happy to be out. Imagine if it was the coldest day in winter, or raining, too hot, ultra windy. Did I know whom I’m digging the hole for, had I ever had a meal or a beer with them?
The cache itself is quite exposed and the fallen tree split in two is strangely portentous...
What an adventure. Found it, and had a great time.
Thanks

Nearly decided to leave this one, till read the description. So glad we made the walk up the lane. Hubby left a little blood behind opening the cache .FP T4T$
TFTC. We are slowly making our way to the Queensland Mega at Dayboro. From Temora we detoured to Grenfell for an overnighter (or maybe an extra day depending on the weather forecast). After making camp we ventured out to find some caches and to explore the area. We had a great couple of hours 1 DNF and 1 maybe later as well as 11 finds.
Love a large container. Had to move a couple of goats on before access. The Leo-I’d was that tight could not budge it. Found another way into the container.

Nice sized container, lid has been screwed on that tight seems impossible to get into ripping hand or fingers apart

Last cache today and a good little walk up the track after parking the car. Arrived at GZ and was easily located. Giving a FP. TFTC Spock1967
A nice walk up through the trees. Found container and, of course, opened the wrong end. Avoided the spider and got to the log.
Thanks,
Thanks,
We found some fresh wood cuts and an empty bucket we think whoever was cutting the wood took it
This was and interesting cache from start to finish. We enjoyed the description on the cache page and then the walk up to GZ.
Once there we took soma time searching and initially dismissed the cache. We got there in the end though. We liked the originality of this hide.

A quick stop on my way between campsites as I make my way towards Canberra for the mega event. I made my way up towards GZ and shortly afterwards cut my finger, lol. Remembering I had a tetanus shot just a couple of years ago I continued on my merry way. Thanks for the cache, Spock1967!
Had a nice chat to the neighbourly land owner and explain the geocache experience.
Nice hide but I wish tradies wouldn't leave their rubbish in beautiful spaces

Heading back form the QOGM event in Queensland we were zig zagging our way back.
We pulled up at the lane way and headed off for a nice pleasant walk on a beautiful day. There was no sign of Mr Joyce, with his lantern or shovel and the only noise was the wind rustling in the trees and the occasional car passing.
We went to where the GPSr was pointing and thought that I had the cache but no such luck, we then expanded the search a little and could still find nothing.
We went back to where the GPSr was insisting I should be and had a better look there and was rewarded with a very well hidden cache and happily added our name to the log.
Many thanks Spock1967 for the cache for a great hide that we haven't seen before, we are leaving a well deserved favourite point.

With a day free I decided to go for a drive to Grenfell and clean it out. This didn’t end up happening as some caches I couldn’t find and some are missing (according to past logs). About ½ of the caches I found today are in need of some urgent TLC. The list of issues includes: cracked containers, waterlogged/full logbooks, missing parts of field puzzles, incorrect coordinates and completely missing containers. I did try my best to help CO’s with these problems as much as possible but unfortunately, I didn’t have enough supplies with me for all of them. I hope the CO’s will continue maintaining these great hides, to stay alive for others to find in the future. Today was a great day full of creative hides, great locations, fun hikes and lots of laughs. TB visit on all found caches today and on some of the smaller log books/sheets I signed as 13/9 JM. Even though I was upset with the state of some of the caches around, I still would like to say thank you to all the CO’s for taking the time to place the caches I found and the fun I had while finding them today. Sorry about the generic logs. Only the more interesting hides and DNF’s will get an extended logs due to the amount of caches I found today.
It's nice to see a large cache as most become muggled, damaged and/or go missing really easily. TFTC

the nearest tree to gz has fallen over, it seems recent so may impact on the cache in the near future as someone comes to cut it up. the nearby house also appears to be not very old but ironically the downed tree helped me hide from the folks in the driveway. I found these chairs half way up the laneway, someone needing a rest stop or perhaps a calm afternoon drinking spot???
It was a good experience walking up this lane. Then I found the cache. The log is a bit damp, and I saw no locks.
We think we found it. But nothing inside! Love the historical hint behind this one.
Narrandera - Grenfell
Arround the edge of the container is quiet sharp & dangerous. Especially when trying to get that cap off.
We have now set up camp at the old railway station. After a lunch break we did a tiki tour of the town, finding some very cleverly hidden caches in some great location. The town was very hot today.

Last one in Grenfell for this trip - will be back again to find some of the others. Cache quickly found and muscles used to extract log - TFTC
An interesting bit of local history followed by a nice walk on a spring day It was obvious where it was but not so obvious where it was... TFTC from an Aussie couple abroad.

Find #997
Day 2 of our road trip. Orange, Parkes, Forbes, Grenfell, Young and Gundagai.
We have hit a snag, or more accurately, the snag has fallen from the heavens.... the misty spitting rain from yesterday consolidated overnight, and we woke in Orange in heavy rain (heavy enough to stop caching). Our plans to find 8 caches on our way to 'The Dish' for #1000 were shelved for an alternate, but just as good plan in the end. Just lucky to have two caches worthy so conveniently placed!
We found the cool container, and signed the log. I'm sorry - the locking ring broke as I was reattaching it....

Took a minute or two but much longer to remove spear grass from shoes afterwards. Nice cache, thank you
Found at 1:09 PM GAFF1.
We drove up the "lane" and then got a bit of a surprise as there was nothing in there! C-pprass took a few moments to work it out, but now reading the cache page - what locks?
Glad that some effort has been made to make caches around here interesting.
Thanks Spock1967.

Found the obvious cache! You tricked us very well but soon found out how silly we were. TFTC. Good hide
10892. Found with AngelG27 and specimenX ("SAFi" in most of the logs) on a day run up Cowra way.
With the bad weather down the coast postponing a planned run that way, a quick rethink had us planning this run instead. A early start had the three of us hit the Highway before 7.30 and not too long after we started our caching spree. Awesome run, with quite a few of the "History of..." puzzles solved and (all but one) collected, as well as 5 First To Finds making a great caching day with my new invasion buddies.
This was the next find for the day, and after a nice walk up the 'track' the actual cache gave the girls a laugh. Cache retrieved, signed, returned, and it was off to the next one.
Thanks Spock1967 !!

Plans were set in place with fitzy_1965 and AngelG27 for an "invasion" of several country towns between Yass and Cowra. We managed to dodge the worst of the drizzly weather to collect a decent swag of caches on what was a fun day with great company! We signed with the acronym SAFi ("i" for invasion ).
Hahaha! AngelG27 and I were a bit puzzled by this one but soon had it sorted for the signing Giving this one a fave as well.
Thanks for the hide, Spock1967

Fitzy_1965, SpecimenX and I headed out on a geocaching mission to collect a few numbers for Fitzy_1965 as he has a mission to find 2000 caches this year. This mission was from Canberra to Borowa, onto Cowra, Young, Grenfell and back home. We travelled well over 700kms over 13.5 hours! I found 54 caches in total, my best ever daily total, and surprisingly 5 FTFs! Fitzy obligingly did all the driving and SpecimenX and I made most of the finds, although SpecimenX had her caching glasses on today and was quick to spot most of them. We had solved a few puzzles before leaving so we were well armed to collect both trads and puzzles. The rain/drizzle/mizzle did not slow us down and we had a great day of caching and laughs. We signed the logs as S A F I (for invasion) to save time in the rain!
34th cache of the day found at 1420. We had a nice walk to the GZ and then SpecimenX had a few moments wondering about accessing the log. Facepalm! Dropped a favourite point and a pathtag on this nicely set up cache. TFTC and the fun Spock1967!
V fav pt path tag 1420

Spent the day geocaching and found the obvious cache with 'grenfellmax' but didn't have time to complete the mission this time. Next time maybe.
A day out caching as Team Dumbledore's Army (Darzee Di, Ryan Girls, FrannyJ, Starlight and ynnbub) with the Harry Potter trail as our destination. A bit of a nature walk with a clever hide at the end. TFTC
Went out today with team "Dumbledore's Army " (ynnbub, the ryan girls, frannyj and starlight) to grab some caches in Grenfell before we hit the Harry Potter trail outside Cowra all dressed up in appropriate attire. We pulled up and ran up the hill, this was a great spot we were all having so much fun tftc Spock1967

I'd been up from Young to visit the cemetery here a month or so back but at the time I was looking at family history and not geocaching so missed these two caches. I wondered about this abandoned track but followed it to GZ where I saw the obvious cache, well not so obvious as I found but got there in the end. Signed and replaced.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Before heading home from Grenfell today we had to search for this hide - the interesting history! Not so much tumble grass today. It took us a while to work out how to get to the container - grrrrrr!
Thanks Spock1967.
Thanks Spock1967.
Have to log this as DNF, as we found, but did not open. We thought it would be a quick grab on the way out of town heading home. However we were wrong. Due to time restraints we tried a couple of combinations but didnt have the time to sit and think about this one. AS a DNF we can ponder on this and come back again another day to claim the prize. TFTC.
Plans were made with the FurfacesLL ladies to do a loop of Cowra, Grenfell and surrounds. Although I have recently been on this loop with Tanso, I was keen to head out again with the girls and even attack a couple of the DNF's from the previous trip. I managed to pick up a total of 18 finds today and 1 cache was DNF'ed again after another extensive look.
FFLL2 and myself went for the walk in the dark, we were knee high in those crop seeds so it was pretty eerie. It took us a while to work it all out even after a PAF or 2. Upon leaving, we discovered it seems we were not alone out there, Mr Joyce may have been watching while we were doing our business, rather creepy.....
Thanks Spock1967 for placing these caches, lovely area especially on a day like today. and thanks to FFLL ladies for another nice caching day out

Our only free day for quite some time so we decided to head out on a geomission around the area. We have had a couple of mini tours lately, but today we went all out to Cowra and Grenfell to see how many we could find. Rapidlywild came along for the drive to fill her gaps where she has previously posted DNF's. The weather was lovely and the drive was picturesque, thank you to all the cache owners for bringing us to this lovely part of Australia.
We approached this one along the path and it was knee high in grass tumbleweed's, very apt. We arrived at GZ and thought we knew what to do, nothing happened and so we sat and thought about it. So we returned to the car, grabbed our phones and consulted with FFLL no 1 who was waiting in the car for us. We decided to go back and have a further attempt, we kept coming up with the same idea but it wasn't coming together. We consulted with a previous finder who confirmed our decision and we had one last go, hooray! We were glad to finally get the container open, our hands were getting quite cold at this hour. Thanks for another good cache Spock1967.

This is another example of the workings of a deranged mind. Sat and pondered this problem for quite a while until the penny dropped. Love your caches. If we stay in the area for much longer, we'll run out of favourite points to award. Thanks Spock1967 for the lesson in patience. Worth 2 favs. but alas can only give 1.
On my last trip north there was not enough time to stop at Cowra, so I decided on a day trip. When I listed all the caches between Young and Cowra I had quite a list I could try to do. So off I went.
I almost fell for this one. Still plenty of dry grass on the trail up here. Thanks.

A calculator may have helped with this the answer is there thanks for the catche a fav from us
I abandoned geomobile at the cemetery and went for a walk [:o]
I didn't feel dead !!
But I was walking
I read the cache notes as I strolled.
Hmm !! Should be an easy find !!
Your ghost stories don't scare me
"I ain't afraid of no ghost"
Wandering into the lane betwixt the pines I changed me mind [:o]
What on Earth is going on here ??
A windy day had piled all those roly-poly grass seeds that tumble across the fields into this part of the laneway !!
It was six foot deep in grass seed in places [:o]
Was this a ghostly ruse to stop me getting to GZ ??
It wasn't going to work
And after an hilarious stroll, I reached GZ and found the cache immediately [^]
Hang on a moment !! [:o]
It took me 15 minutes to work out, but work it out I did
I feel rather smrat after finding the logbook
"SMRAT, SMRAT, I am so smrat, I am so smrat !!" [:o)]
TFTC, it deserves to be blown up, but I'll give it a fave point instead

Today we explored Grenfield and surrounds with Whitewebbs heading towards Stanthorpe for the Mega using geocaching as a guide.
Arrived at GZ and thought we had this one in the bag very quickly, nah not what you think, once exhausted all posibilities aha the penny dropped, good luck to fellow caches. Adding to our favourites.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Out and about caching with Tassie Trekkers as we head to Stanthorpe for the Qld Mega. Made this a drive by. Interesting story. Great cache, another favourite point from us. TFTC
That was brain taxing!! But finally found, you guys are good at this! Another type of cache we've never seen before! And another fav from us TFTC
3980 Found by baby&Mrs gopher at 1500. We found the container yesterday but had a very active lightning storm pass over so with the thunder, lightning, and rain thought we would try to open today. Came across from Derribong via a bush track that had the Mrs hanging onto the "bloody hell baby bar"remembering our last trip here and being bogged for several hours. All good and at least baby enjoyed the drive. Poked our way to gz and got down to the find. Thumbs up from us. SL took TB Tnx spock1967
Found on a huge day trip with Sol de Lune. After parking down the hill, we took the lovely walk through the trees to GZ, where the container was quickly found. But it took a while to get it open, of course. We tried some possibilities for the locks, but they didn't work. But then after rethinking our possibilities, the cache was opened nicely. Lovely area. TNLNSL. TFTC Spock1967!
Nicely done....
Out with Toy Hunters for the day and after he had a go it was time for me to try my luck. Tried a few things that yielded nothing, but then the "the light came on" and the log was in hand a couple of minutes later. Happy to be signing the log and then the walk back to the car with a smile on the dial.
Thanks Spock1967....fav point for something different, the fun and the time to set it up.

No ghosts here tonight, easy find, never seen a cache quite like that before. Happy new years.
Needs a little fixing after lgoody from Wagga Wagga ripped it apart and destroyed the combination locks (not very happy),shouldn't be too long
Locks were undone and on top so Just left them there as i couldn't get them to fit, awesome cache. Tftc
Even with the risk of bad weather, we headed out with Roostaman, to pick up some caches.
A very interesting cache, something a little different.
But unfortunately the sharp edges left around the lid, gave geo-hubby several cut fingers.
Many thanks for placing this cache, Spock1967, for us and others to find.
