6 pairs of eyes looking but we did not come up with the goods. Couldn't really work out the hint either (middle?)
Hard to be stealthy on this busy day! But found the clever hide nonetheless. TFTC
Just passing through, heading back after the Auckland running event where Hoof ran the 11km over the harbour bridge. Thanks to the previous person who left the stick, very handy!! TFTC 23 January 2022 12:11 pm 810
Travelled up to Auckland for the Mega this weekend and to visit our daughter. Stayed the night in Owera. Mr Rubbishparty cycled to Wenderholm this morning, but we both returned this afternoon. Stopped to grab this on our way out - a few cars leaving but not really watching us read nearby signs! Cache all fine. TFTC
As previous logs, tricky hide but read the activity and it becomes clearer. Found on 2nd hunt. Small stick required, to poke out the spider
Finally a find for Miss 11 (with dads help). What a clever hide! Love the effort and creativity. Back at the campground entrance after the perimeter walk.
A nice quick find thanks. The lid is missing from the cache.
Time for another trip to the North Island for Ms_KR and me. Wellington and beyond here we come. Today we toured north of Orewa, visiting some regional parks and beaches. Choice.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Decided to make the most of another lovely Auckland day and explore this regional park with NZ Iceman, B4Dawn and The Browne Hornet.
We had finished our walk, re-filled our water bottles and then wandered over to make this find. I did point out a good spot but then B4Dawn started poking around and ta da...there you are!!
Thanks for the cache.

Day out with Keyley, Iceman and an old Team SEAC member! The task to day was to clear our this park and get those numbers as much as we could! Crazy productive!
We got to GZ and started looking at the obvious spots till I decided to poke at stuff...
Neat hide! TFTC

With virtually no unfound caches available around Whangarei and the Auckland border reopening three days ago, I thought I had better make the most of the opportunity to grab some caches and the Reach the Peak souvenir, before Aunty J uses Omicron as an excuse to lock us up again.....
The plan was to head to Wenderholm and clear that area out, but the newish trail out to Mahurangi also looked appealing, especially as it is one place I have driven past 100's of times but never actually visited. That's one of the great things about caching - visiting new places..
Into the Wenderholm caches proper now. Initially the gps had me some distance away, but a bit of GC intuition had me on point and the neat wee cache was soon in hand. Missing a lid, but log still all good to sign. TFTC

Found faster then expected. Large black spider has made its home with the cache & wasnt happy being disturbed
Wow. This one was found quite quickly by 11 year old but he wouldn't touch it because there was a huge spider sharing the hidey hole! 9 year old had to retrieve it and push it out with a stick. The log was separate from the container and the lid is gone (not sure if by mistake or design) but we put the log back securely. Thanks for a great day G_2!
Had a look for this on our way into the park without any luck. On our way out decided to give it another chance. Different phone gave different GZ, and within seconds there was a sign and the cache was in my hands (or tweezers if you want to be exact).
We looked for this at the beginning of our adventure around wenderholm however had no luck finding it. But we came back to have another look on the way back out and the GPS had us looking somewhere completely different than before and we manage to find it straight away. TFTC
Piggy certainly gets around. Lots of muggles about _ I am still amazed how much people don't take notice of what we are doing. T4tc
After a visit to the nearby facilities, I headed over whilst mrs c headed along. Spotted the hiding place and nature provided the way for cache extraction. T F T C G-2
Another capperz in Auckland day out. Waiwera followed by Wenderholm and a good day out it was too. The great thing about being new in the area is that a lot of the places we visit are for the first time for mrs c and a revisit from fleeting previous toe-dips for me, mostly. I'd been to Waiwera before, but not gone into the nearby Regional Park so a good idea to do that today.
Parked up on the 30 minute slot and reckoned we had time to get the three nearby caches in that time, and use the facilities too. Nice and quiet here and able to sample the warm foreshore as the tide came in.

This little piggy did a very good job of hiding but not quite good enough. We had to stop our search for a wee chat when a council vehicle turned up and a woman got out and started wiping down the gate and locks etc. A sign of the times I guess. TFTC # 16,089
On a geocaching expedition from Nelson. Way back in February Isis58, no.13 and I planned a trip to Auckland for the planned Mega event. When Covid struck and the country went into lockdown we decided to wait and see what happened - - that was less hassle than trying to get refunds on our flights anyway. Well, of course the Mega event was cancelled but luckily for us, flying was an option again by Labour Weekend. We changed some of the details of our trip but decided we would fit in as much caching as we could. We were joined by Mrs SoBad. We visited some amazing places, fitted in some walks, came across lots of people - - lots of traffic too. A huge thank you to the COs for hiding caches which presented us with puzzles to solve, took us to great places, were cleverly camouflaged, were cunningly hidden - - sometimes in plain sight - - all of the above and of course an equal thank you for the ones that just gave us one more smilie. We really really appreciated them all. Thanks !
After one DNF, we were happy piggy had not run any further so we could find the cache and sign the log as INSS. On the run ourselves as we had more caches to find.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Great camo, made my little cacher’s day to find this one...well guarded by an eight legged sentinel.
#4 of the day. Visited by info the tb and geo kids. Great hide, nearly didn't find it. Thanks for the hide
We failed to find this one on the way into the park, but after having done the perimeter track I read some more logs and suddenly had a brainwave. My first thought on re-examination was correct. Brilliant hide, I do like this, and another favourite point coming your way.
A nice one to finish with!! Relatively free of muggles, unlike on our initial search an hour or two back. Clever! TFTC
Had tried to look for this one on the way in, but there was a guy in a Ventra van, close by, looking my way. Had a feeling where cacahe was but could retrieve it without him seeing.
Came back on way out. There was now someone even closer, sitting in there car waiting to get in gate, so I took Mum with me in case I could use her as cover.
As we were approaching 2 guys and a kid arrived from the campsite on bikes, to put in the code for the car. Code put in and gate opened bikes went through, car started up, but before it could move the gate started closing, she had to hoot to get those on the bikes to come back.
Code duly entered again and this time car and bikes went through together.
They were so busy with the gate that what we were doing wasn't an issue. TFTC
I thought this now gave me all smilies for Wenderholm, however in the week between finding and logging, Kiwiscot have had 2 caches published - COL (that's Cry out loud).

I came out today to pick up some caches in Wenderholm Park with the ones around the perimeter track being the main target. Really enjoyed my walk around this area today, big thanks to all the COs for their effort in setting the caches.
I soon spotted where this one would be hidden but I didn't have a suitable tool to extract it; however I found a natural object nearby that soon did the trick and I then had the container in hand. TFTC!

Looked twice before spotted this one. Nice walk around the perimeter today. Tomorrow we will head for the hill. TFTC
Headed up to Auckland to carry on working on those caches in the northern parts to see if there were a few that I could find before there were too many people about that would make me want to head back home to the quieter parts of the country. It was still well dark when I left as as it was only myself I got to listen to the cricket without Mrs Dragon telling me to change the station, ah bliss.
As I knew I would be early for my real objective, I took a bit of a circuitous route to Wenderholm Regional Park as I wanted to be there early as generally that was when it was quietest and the best light to be out walking in. Signed the caches CD (aka Cats&Dragons) to save space in many of the logs. Managed a grand total of 43 finds for the morning which I was quite pleased with.
Nice and early here so no-one about to worry about how the car was parked. Very quickly located, cache extracted but missing a log so replaced and returned it to its spot for the next intrepid geocacher.
Thank you to all the CO's for their hard work in making this day possible, in both the placing the caches and maintaining them.

We really enjoyed the Perimeter walk and found some caches as well. It was good to get out of the bush and into the late afternoon sun. This cache needs some TLC as previously registered. Full log. Tftc!
Nice quick drive by. Cache missing cap.
Ants appear to be eating the glue/camo? Ants over it.

We found this cache last night, returning to the campsite after our walk up the hill, but couldn't get the log out. Stopped this morning on our way home with better equipment. Thanks!
Out and about for a weekend adventure with the younger future finder on this fine summer's day. The FF was keen for a walk and specified the requirements of both beach and bush. This sounded like the perfect excuse to explore some of Wenderholm Regional Park and collect some finds along the way, of course. This was our first stop. After a few minutes we found the hide in its spot. I had my TOTT ready to make the extraction, but the FF had fashioned a stick for the job, so I let him have the honour of making the retrieval. Cheers for the cache placement!
Trip to this park, while visiting from uk, what a wonderful place. Clever hide took a while
On our way over from Auckland to Whangarei we decided to escape the toll-road and have a stop at Wenderholm to walk the loop track. Lots of caches and an nice shadey walk. What a lovely combination! Managed to find all of the except for one of which we doubt it's still there. Contacted the CO about that one…
This is a good hide! FAVO!

Last one for our day out at Wenderholm. It was another quick find and we used our tott to get it out. The cap is missing but I do not think that is going to cause to much problem where it is. Another favorite point for all of your efforts out here G-2
Northland Day 1: We drove up from Auckland to Hokianga today, passing through the Hibiscus Coast before heading across to Kaipara District and then into the Hokianga Harbour. Stopped by various beautiful regions along the way to take in the views, and of course, there was always room a few cache finds... well, not a few Thanks to all the COs along the way for showing us the lovelier parts of the Northland!
The following is the specific log for each cache:
We decided to drop by Wenderholm Regional Park on the way up to Northland. This one was a quick park and grab once the correct spot for determined. Nice and quick here. TFTC!

Our last cache today before getting back to the car.Spotted the cache fairly early on then walked across the road to find a tool which then came in handy to exact the log too. Thanks for all your hides today g2.
9.10am. A short detour on my way home from the farm. Nice quick find.
Thank you. David.
Thank you. David.
Visiting this stunning park overnight it is time to take the mini and micro Gadgets for a walk and find a few caches. Stunning weather and a great cache. Tftc
Found the cache but lost the lid. Wind blew it to the ground and it is too camoed to see. TFTC.
After quite a long day this really had us confused for a while! We tried everything! In the end mr krex got himself a little stuck trying to get the cache, but eventually we had it in hand. Another tricky one but we were on a roll! TFTC
The weather was perfect today so we decided to go for a walk at Wenderholm.
As we were heading for the carpark we heard the news that Piggy was on the run so stopped to see if he needed assistance.
Piggy was nowhere to be seen but we were fortunate enough to locate his hiding spot where we found him safe and sound.
He was so well hidden we felt confident he didn't need any help from us so left him safely tucked out of sight and continued on our way.
Thanks for another great Piggy experience.

Geocaching in Wenderholm - Regional parks today. Little stick did a job here. All good at GZ. TFTC
JDScout had a conference up in Auckland for a few days. A plan was hatched. Tickets and Accommodation got booked. We're making lemonade out of our lemons.
Kept Jd waiting in the car a bit too long.

After spending the long weekend camping in the park we saved the last couple of caches to collect as we were leaving. Looking around the likely spots and considering the hint the cache was soon spotted. Retrieval was a bit of a different matter and needed a little assistance as I kept moving it further away not closer. When the cache was in had, Mrs HeMaLuDy let out quite a loud scream as the cache guardian came out with it (large, black and 8 legged). Happy to sign the log and replace. What a lovely park to spend a weekend, we have added it to the ever increasing list of places we want to return to. Found with darthcacher1 and purply.
Out for the day with the kids at Wenderholm for a bit of caching, swimming & kayaking. We did the caching first before the heat of the day I had looked for this one early in the day but my GPS was bouncing all over the place so I decided to go and find the other caches first and come back to it. Later in the day I had back up from another cacher and my GPS was playing ball this time so the cache was finally spotted.... sneaky TFTC!
My destination for today was Wenderholm Park. This was the first stop as I entered. After looking in all the normal hiding places, I started on looking in the 'G-2' hiding places and then I felt something. TFTC.
Another gorgeous day to spend out geocaching with merlot58 and Jag50. Today we decided to target Wenderholm. Had an idea what we might be looking for and after a bit of searching merlot located this one. Mrs Whitetail was not a home today thankfully.
As the weather was good the decision was made to get out to Wenderholm for some caches and a walk with Jag50 and Aiden29. Having seen previous logs about whitetails we were a little wary but none were around the hide today. Took a few minutes but I eventually spied the sneaky hide.
Holiday outing to Wenderholm Regional Park with the wife and children; SikoSako, Gulla04 and Vic07 + muggler older sister.
The family left me for a shorter trip and the beach after the first cache. Ah well; I had a great walk in the sunny weather, mostly along the perimeter track.
I found 13 caches , this was one of them, I failed at two, and I see I also passed one, probably following the wrong path on one segment.
Anyway; Thanks for the caches, choice of area and the walk.
Tftc!

TFTC. Out and about to gather a few northern caches was the plan for today.
What grand plane trees. Initially I went towards them, then realising
The error of my way, headed towards GZ.
There was no sign of Mrs Whitetail today - probably down at the beach relaxing in the sunshine.
Thanks G-2 for placing this cache and mini series.

Looking in all the wrong places as well!! When you do find it watch out for the white tail that calls this place it’s Home as well!!
We were looking for this one in the usual but wrong places when we heard a hello and saw a familiar and friendly face. As luck would have it, entirely coincidentally supernanny had arrived to walk the exact same route we had planned for ourselves to take Albert out for a walk. What luck - just this week I'd posted on a facebook board how great it would be to get a guided walk of G--2 geocaches, and here was our guide!
Spent a couple of minutes looking for this one, but an ahem from supernanny had us looking in the right place and there it was safe and sound. Mrs Tuolei made the retrieval, all good and off we went to do our walk around the perimeter track. Thanks for the sneaky hide, all good here.

We located the cache & then threw it away thinking it was just rubbish. Had trouble finding it, then read some logs & it was an OMG moment, where did it go. Safetly signed & back in its hide. A favourite point given
Back to the city, stopping to find caches on the way home.
We found some great caches in some wonderful locations.

School holidays. Decision made to get outside today as the weather for the rest of the week does not look great. Lovely walk around Wenderholm Regional Park picking up caches. Soon spied where this little piggy is hiding. Needed to use a tool to remove piggy. Luckily plenty of possibilities lying about. TFTC
Headed out today with yorkshirekiwi83 and KirsTim for a spot of caching at Wenderholm (signed logs as KKKTS), followed by a lovely dip at the hot pools. A quick grab here, thanks for the hide!
Hitting the Wenderholm trails with Vamber & yorkshirekiwi83 for the day followed by a well deserved dip at the pools. Log was signed as KKKTS to save space. On our way to the hot pools we stopped off in convey to grab the last few on the way out, looked in a few places before finally finding the well hidden cache, thanks
Vamber, KirsTim and I (signed as KKKTS) decided to tackle Wenderholm today, piggy on the run out of the park? why? it is so beautiful in there, turn around piggy go back. Nice find.. TFTC
Came up here today with my sister and her son, Treye, from Australia, and his girlfriend, Trang, and my son Tim and Master SethRaven. We did encounter a few showers of rain but we walked the length of the beach and then we nabbed a few caches. This was our fifth find for us out here this afternoon . TFTC
