Got to within 40m and it was clearly signposted that it was reserve land and no trespassers. Doesn't seem appropriate.
Looked everywhere we could including as far into the hole in the right hand branch nearest the road and we couldn’t see anything.
Heading north with DaffyNZ to collect a few solved puzzles and other caches.
My parents had a beach house here at Hihi many years ago, but unfortunately we couldn't afford to keep it when they moved back to town.
A nice quick find in the most obvious spot. Wasn't too sure of the no trespassing signs nearby, but figured they only meant the beach access nearby. TFTC

Out with 0B80B8 today collecting a few caches around the far North. Another quick park and grab in a beautiful area of Northland, TFTC
Up this way gathering a few caches. Got to GZ and made a very quick find. Signed an replaced. TFTC
Enjoying looking around Hihi Beach. Gps spot on here. Cache was rather exposed so covered it up a little. Thanks Just Floundering nice hide.
First cache of the year. Been a bit of a drought for this old gal. Tftc in a beautiful spot
First find if the year with DeadRockFlower. A lovely day for it in a beautiful spot. Tnlnsl. Tftc!!
After having virtually no muggle issues with any of my cache searches in the Far North I was surprised to have one here. Just as I was about to check the spot the cache must surely be, a car driver appeared from goodness knows where and parked in a place where she could easily see what I was doing. Thankfully, she didn't stay there long and I was able to quickly complete my mission.
On a Team SEAC labour weekend trip to the north, we have spent the last 4 days driving and exploring the north. Have seen some wonderful beaches and wildlife, met some lovely locals and one not so friendly local and had a really great time with great friends.
Had cached all day and had fish and chips for dinner in town. With only 4 more caches still with the annoying green dots on them we headed back out with Team SEAC.
Third find and we couldn't believe that at this time of night there was a guy on the beach just sitting and listening to his music RIGHT opposite GZ. He never turned while we disembarked and made a quick find.

Day three of our caching adventure, with a group of like minded people from Auckland. Our local lodgings are at Cable Bay with an amazing outlook..... Staying local today preparing for the trip home on Tuesday..... Early finish enabling this logging.
Thanks to the CO's for placing the caches found today.
Headed out after locating a place for dinner to make 'just one more'.

With the mega being postponed a plan was hatched for some of the Team SEAC crew to head north for some fun. Today was day 4 and after a big day yesterday we decided to make it a slower one, stay local to where we were staying and enjoy the area.
Parked literally across from GZ but had to be quite stealthy as there was someone sitting on the beach. It was quite dark so would have looked quite odd for a car to drive up, 5 people with torches jump out, look around a tree for a few minutes and then drive off! Thankfully it was a very quick find so in reality they wouldn't have had time to see what we were doing.
Thanks for the cache.

Out with Team SEAC on a long weekend raid of the upper north island. This was the fourth day of caching, and we cached around the Mangonui area. This was a very quick find following the hint. We did this in the dark. Not sure what the muggle on the beach opposite would have thought of us. Signed Team SEAC to save space. TFTC.
Did this one at around 9pm, and thought we would be the only ones in the area...well...NO...we pulled up and a guy was sitting at the water front by himself, smoking who knows what with his music playing...we quickly found the cache and moved on :-p
Kayaked ashore to do a couple of caches within a short walk of Hihi. This one was as far as we walked. TFTC
Amazing view from this cache across the bay. Hihi is an excellent place for a holiday.
Another snag and tag along this wonderful coastline. Cheers
Its Sunday - day nine -Kaikohe - Hokianga -Coopers Beach area with The Seagnoid and Zara today. Toby and William at Motor Doctors again!
Its another epic 3+ week geocaching adventure with The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and Willam to the Far North. What an amazing place to explore. Lots of walks, gravel roads and sand. Lots of amazing trees, beaches and interesting POIs. Lots of kilometers traveled by vehicle and foot. Vehicle breakdowns, making new friends and catching up with old friends and family. Snagged a couple of FTF's, lots of lonely caches and the odd event along the way. Lots of cache maintenance and replaced caches on this trip. But what an incredible adventure!!. Thanks to all the CO's who have made this trip so memorable..

Day nine of an awesome, tiring, long, three week holiday geocaching with Taybeedragon in the upper north. Today it is Opononi to Cooper's Beach. The whole trip comprised of hours of walking on sand, sliding down sand dunes, hundreds of kilometres of unsealed roads, car breakdowns, paddling out to islands, lighthouses, dolphins, goats, events, FTFs, weird boulders. You name it, we saw it. Lots of bisons, lots of cache maintenance, lots of sunscreen. A month is enough. I am glad to be back home. Except that now I have to write up my trip. We averaged just 20 caches per day, but that is still a lot of logging!
Merry Christmas from the Seagnoid!

Found it easy. Good idea of the box for this cache and also for the placement. It is really nice location of this cache. Very close to the beach and in beautiful piece of nature. The main reason of my coming to Hihi was one FTF cache, not far from here. It was my second New Zealands FTF cache during my 6 weeks journey in this part of the world. The first one was an earth cache on South island, my fist FTF earth cache ever. I came here today from Bay of Islands, just because of this FTF cache. I hitchhiked here almost 3 houeres from Paihia. I needed 5 hitchhiked cars to come here and 4 back. It took me whole day. Except this cache and the FTF cache I found in Hihi one more cache. One cache I was not able to find "The Butler Did It (Far North)", GC6TQEC. I'm sending greetings from Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. Thanks for showing of this place. Thanks for the cache.
Staying in nearby Motorcamp and had to quickly head out to find this one before it got dark. Great spot. TFTC.
We came to Hihi to explore and admire the view. Found this cache on our adventure. Neat hide! TFTC

After spending the morning confined to the camper van due to the pouring rain we donned raincoats (just in case) and took the geo-dog for a walk. The cache was located very quickly and caused smiles. Thank you.
I have set myself a challenge for this year to have at least the same number of caches on each day of my calender as the number of years I have been caching.
The log was full so I replaced it.
Cheers for the cache.

This was a nice one. We found it during a little drive around Mangonui between two rain fronts. The log sheet is full.

Caught a glimpse of a likely hiding place as we drove past to turn car around. Quickly had cache in hand and log signed. TFTC.
After we spent the night at the northern most campground we drove back south. It was one of the best camgrounds we stayed at, not too expensiv and a nice beach right infront of the tent. On our way we stopped as usual for a few caches.
After vitising a very old virtual cache in this area, we got hungry and came to the hihi beach to eat a snack. Found this cache after eating without problems.
Thank you very much for this nice cache!

Thank you for this cache near our camping side. I've seen a wonderful sunset:-)
During our NZ holiday trip we stopped at Hihi Beach for one night, and on my morning walk this cache was on my way.

Staying for the night at the Hihi Beach Motorcamp, after dinner we went for a stroll. Stunning scenery and absolutely gorgeous sunset. The cache was in a really obvious place, guarded by a majestic but friendly ent. This place needed a cache! TFTC and a favourite point!
This year me and RobLigtenberg were lucky enough to spend almost 2 months in New-Zealand on a great holiday. We explored both islands and just like everyone else we loved it. Apart from all the major attractions (roturua, tongariro, abel tasman, the glaciers, the fjords and so much more) we also tried to do some caches in order to discover even more of the country. After visiting ninety mile beach and cape reigna we ended up at a camping in Hihi beach. This cache was very close to our camping, a perfect excuse for an evening stroll. Easy find.

During our nearly two month holiday in New Zealand we spend time on both the northern and southern island. Both islands happened to be very beautiful, each in its own way. Together with Ninagustein we searched for many caches, as we think it is a great way of discovering the country. Numerous caches get you to places you otherwise wouldn't have visited and it is also fun to find caches at touristic places. On this day we travelled to Cape Reinga to visit the lighthouse and the sand dunes. Then we headed to a campsite at Hihi beach. During our evening walk we found this cache.

One - love to me Neat cache and a beautiful area. I'm out with my caching buddy trying to fill in some smiles on my map. Great to be out geocaching in such a picturesque area. TFTC
Finally out of our easy chairs and along to Hihi to log another one. Good easy hide for young and old, TFTC.
On a holiday around Northland. Staying at the delightful Hihi Campground nearby. Amazing views and a stunning day in mid autumn. Found by Gadget J. Tftc
Pretty obvious where the cache could b but still had to do a bit of searching. LOVELY SPOT. TFTC
Staying at Holiday Park near by so took the stroll up the road to find this one this afternoon. Quick investigation and the cache container was in hand. SL TNLN TFTC. Lovely piece of coastline and out of the wind this afternoon. Although we did get caught in a brief squall.
What a beautiful spot! The cache was a quick find. Thanks for placing it! Greetings from Austria - fanti
Found this one towards the end of my day trip. Hihi is such a beautiful little place that I didn't know about until very recently. Tftc
#10959. We'd visited Mangonui a few times during our time in Doubtless Bay, so today we thought we'd drive round the harbour and find the Hihi caches. TFTC.
Our last full day in Doubtless Bay, so we decided to have a quiet time, not straying too far from home base. Spent the earlier part of the morning investigating options for replacing my broken Oregon , then headed out late morning to find a cache or three. It was tough for me without a GPSr, and having to rely on StreetWalker for cache info, etc.
We hadn't been to Hihi before, so thought it worth the wee drive out here to have a look around. A quick find - nice hide - just as a few spots of rain were falling. TFTC.

Parked up in the nearby grass area on our return journey from Kiwi & Kauri Duet. We had fun skipping stones down at the waters edge before following Scotty (who held the GPS) on a little journey around, up and over before eventually arriving at the hiding spot. Quick find but a little surprised by what we found. Definitely way out of court here. TFTC - We removed some rubbish from the reserve & foreshore.
Nice evening stroll about 400m from the bach.Easy find . Great spot ,had a nice day kayaking and we had a pod of Orca's close in the previous day.Tftc.
