I've only recently become a professional geocacher (retired), so today was my first day on the job. It wasn't a hugely successful day, but it was deliberately unhurried and being from Canberra, I was happy to enjoy the very pleasant conditions here in Parramatta today. I'll be heading back to cold, old Canberra
tomorrow.

Didn't find this one. I must have searched for about 20 mins and was even helped for a while by another cacher who had found it some years before, but neither of us could see it. Oh well. Interesting spot.

Thanks anyway Blundo Busters

A lot of magnetic and a lot of East side... Many places to search. I only really came for the virtual anyway. Not a fan of U2 I'm afraid...

Looked high and low, but couldn't see. Maybe we all suffer from cache blindness for this one.

Ventured west with morty8888 to visit the caches in Parramatta Park and a few nearby cemeteries today. I’ve not previously visited the park and I was pleasantly surprised at all the history on display here. A thoroughly enjoyable day. TFTC Blundo Busters

Quite early we were out here at parramatta park as it’s one of the outrageously hot hot days in Sydney and a thunderstorm is suppose to follow, well later , so enough time to seek some caches in this beautiful area

Found well

Great start to our walk. Found, but the log is a mess, needs a little lovin'. TFTC Smile

A quick find but the cache needs some TLC. The log book is just a soggy mess unfortunately. An interesting spot and the big water dragons basking in the sun on the bank below were cool to watch. TFTC

Had a really thorough look over all the bridge pylons but couldn't turn it up.

18-Oct-18
Tried one more place after last log and it was right there! Unfortunately log is soaked and falling apart. Barely could make a small mark in it.

16-Oct-18
This geocacher reported that the logbook is full.

16-Oct-18
The co-ords are spot on, and the terrain rating suggests where it should be, so it was a nice quick find. However the log is soaked and needs replacing.

**This Cache:**

Well, another Canberra cacher here! Looks like the past 3 out of 5 finders have been from Canberra, funny that.....

After completing the nearby virtual I took a walk over to this cache as well as I still had a little bit of time up my sleeve. Spent a while searching here in the obvious locations and eventually found it in a bit of a sneaky spot.

Thanks for placing!

**The Day:**

Day 3 of an extended weekend caching trip, and a family member's 50th up in Sydney!
Today there were a few puzzle caches planned and then a CITO Event in Mittagong with Muppet95! After the CITO was done and dusted I headed straight up towards Parramatta to grab a virtual cache I have been hanging out for. The rest of my day consisted of a family event, and a bonus Wherigo which was nearby! All up only 8 caches for the day, but they were very specific and 5 different cache types!

Thanks to all the CO's! See individual log about each cache above ^^

Up from Canberra - Brought my muggle friend here for her Mums 90th birthday party. Party is Sunday, but we drove up on Saturday and are staying overnight in a Hotel. Went to visit her Mum for a while when we got here, and went for a walk nearby and found a couple of Geocaches while the 2 of them had a Mother/daughter talk about a few things ... then we grabbed some junk food and went back to the hotel where we drank a couple glasses of wine and watched a couple of silly movies while we talked ... but at bed time I was still wide awake, so I decided to sneak out for a little "stupid o'clock" Geocaching adventure in the nearby parklands Smile
Quite the adventure - I found 5 traditional caches, a GA moveable (which came home with me) and a trig ... and had a nice fun explore of a park in the dark ... I was tempted to go for a longer walk and try and do the GA webcam cache 1km away, but reason finally prevailed and I went back to the hotel and went to bed - and the next morning, when my muggle friend, who grew up in this area, found out where I had been - she was horrified - but I am still here to tell the tale - lol
TFTC - Looks like this would be a nice spot in daylight. Surprisingly quick find Smile
Oh... Hello Jusojara (previous finder, couple of days ago, and unless has moved, lives about 1km from me in Canberra Smile ... U too? lol
(amazing how often that sort of thing happens - travel somewhere odd and find a cache, and find a familiar name in the log Smile

An easy BB hide for a change! Finding the cache didn't present too many issues, however I did manage to drop the log in the process of signing! Luckily I had moved away from GZ sufficiently enough that the log didn't get wet, but fell on the dry river bank. A quick trip to collect the log from below the bridge and the signing duties were completed in due course, then cache replaced as found. TFTC BB!

I was in Parramatta today with time on my hands, so 'twas the perfect opportunity to do the Governor's Domain mega-virtual in Parramatta Park ... and for good measure, to pick up a few other smilies along the way. This was a straightforward find while I was doing my lap of the park ... thanks for providing pretty good coords and a sensible placement Blundo Busters.

Happy Uke and I were up at Parramatta to attend a nephew's 40th birthday. We had a wonderful night catching up with old friends and making new ones.

On the next day the two of us were out on the hunt for some no good sneaky caches that needed to be put back in their places, after we'd found them of course.

It was a great day for a walk in the park and this park holds allot of historical firsts for the early colony. It was good to see so many young families enjoying the park on such a fine day.

Thanks!

Finalf29 and I were up this way for a nephew's 40th birthday. Had a winderful party last night and did a spot of caching before we drove home. The weather was lovely, especially since this is the middle a winter. We spent a glorious afternoon walking around Parramatta park, with lots of families enjoying the sunshine, joggers and groups of muggles playing that other virtual game... "trying to catch them all". Thanks to the CO's of all the caches we found today. We found eight trads and one virtual.

After a false start... tried to get to park through the hospital. We parked the car and walked around finding caches and gathering clues for the virtual.

This was our seventh for the arvo. Tricky little hide, but coords spot on resulting in a quick find. Just took a little longer to put back, due to timing with muggle traffic. Thanks

We had hoped to find this one today but alas it wasn’t to be.
I looked high and low but didn’t spot a cache. It sure was starting to look dark in the sky so I kept moving.

Thanks Blundo Busters anyway.

Just a quick expedition in Parramatta to pick up a few caches and continue to increase the cache find count.

Another lovely location on the outskirts of the Parramatta CBD.

My original guess was that it wasn't over the water, but the coordinates given were absolutely spot on. A quick grab, and upon inspection there were multiple logs, all of which were full. I wandered back to dry land to grab some paper from my bag to leave my name.

I signed the log, and placed all pieces back in the cache container. But it would be worth the CO replacing with a fresh log.

The Rats and the mini rats came to Parramatta Park today for a family catchup. Of course while we were here we couldn't resist the urge to grab a few caches while in the park.

As part of our lap around the park gathering info for the virtual we stopped by here where after the muggles left we could get our hands on the cache.
Thanks

With any cache like this, I am always pleased to be dressed as if I am conducting business on site... Wink

I wandered along and "inspected" as I went, but before I found the container, I was questioned by a passer buy on whether I was checking the structure, I replied most certainly, we need to ensure you guys are safe as you run across this every day... Big Grin

Heartbeat wasting muggle out of the picture, I reached in for the container and headed away a little for business. Name on the list, I strolled back in for a quick replacement, then headed off.

Cheers Blundo Busters.

The end of a lovely day showing Geogrins all the Australian critters we could find. On our way to GZ we passed a lot of water dragons sunning themselves on the river bank.
While Geogrins was distracted by something I wandered along to the middle of the bridge, mindful not to be collected by stray cyclists. A quick glance at the east side of the bridge got me CIH. I made the grab so quickly that Geogrins didn't even notice it happen.
Awesome hide. TFTC.

Just when you think a day can’t get any better...67Loops brings you to a place where that be dragons! We saw more than a few of them on our way to the cache!

Lu made the quick and stealthy grab here - our last shared geocaching adventure for a while now as she’s off to Zurich where I do hope she’ll find a few of Pim’s caches!

Thought I would take advantage of the light school holidays traffic for another trip down Pennant Hills Rd to Parramatta. This is my third visit to the park in the last 12 months, so not sure why I hadn't grabbed this one before. With not many muggles about on this cool morning, I made a quick find. Lots of activity in preparation for FOMO.

I was walking back to my hotel for beer o-clock after enjoying the delights of the park and decided on a little detour to this cache. On my way I had to play dodge the tourist (although technically I am one) and avoid the cyclist, of which there were many.

I walked out onto the bridge to start the hunt when a few more cyclists suffering from lack of speed syndrome raced past. You have to keep your eyes open on this bridge!

I felt the cache and was happy to see it had a super strong magnet. It didn’t come away on my first attempt at retrieval and I thought it was in the drink (like I needed). I signed my name on a free square millimetre and then dropped the lid which I freaked out about again but it landed on the bridge and the caching world was saved. Beer time! tftc

27-Oct-17
Found 7:17 pm found fairly quickly great coords and hint works. Muggles taking photos though. I parked the geovehicle nearby and headed over to GZ. I had been in Parramatta for an interview and took the opportunity afterwards to grab some caches. I like this cache for the location. I headed in but a photographer was messing around so I waited a bit but then gave up as others arrived a just wandered through. So I headed to GZ and discreetly searched and then spotted what I was looking for. I signed the log basically a blank spot in all the scraps of paper. This could use a new log. Returned the cache to its hiding spot.
Thanks for the cache.

There were very few people around this structure on such a hot day but several picnicking families could be seen in the distance. We walked until the GPS said zero then looked in the likely place before finding a nicely camouflaged and difficult to see container. Thanks Blundo Busters, I liked this cache and its location.

27-Sep-17
Strolled down to this one from Train Spotter making it cache 3 of 8 in Parramatta Park today for Octonaut and KokoJam. With phones and iPads safely out of the way the elder Octonaut grabbed this one to make sure it didn't end up in the river. Wandered back across the bridge to sign the log and sit down for a snack, then replaced cache when there was a gap in muggle traffic heading across for lunchtime soccer. SL, TFTC.
