Four years ago, a Bromance team adventure to hike Australia's highest 10 peaks was cancelled after bushfires devastated the Snowy Mountains (and indeed most of the Eastern seaboard). It has taken us a long time to return - too long. With months of training and preparation completed, today was finally the day.The morning was absorbed with the hike from Charlottes Pass, crossing the Snowy River, visiting Blue Lake and then "bagging" the first two peaks of our Aussie bakers dozen of Australia's Highest mountains, being Mt Twynam and Tennyson Woods Knoll (Watson's Crag) . From Tennyson Woods Knoll, we descended and filled up with water in the clear stream at the saddle before again climbing to join the main range track. Collecting our heavy packs at the track junction, we now climbed steadily to the third peak of the day, arriving at Carrruther's Peak summit around mid afternoon. With perfect weather, this summit was quite busy this afternoon, with hikers completing the loop from Charlottes Pass, to Kosciuszko and then returning via the Main Range track and Blue Lake. A short hop from the true summit, we discovered this container. Unfortunately, the containers lid was cracked and the containers logbook was a sodden mess. Given the cache has been archived, there was no point replacing the container or logbook. Indeed, we decided to assist the CO - per their request - by carrying the sodden mess out for them. Unfortunately, I was the pack horse chosen to lug this one out! Hopefully, this will save the CO from a tough Autumn walk at Easter to collect it.From Carruthers Peak, we joined the steel boardwalk along Main Range, before venturing off the steel to climb Mt Northcote, the 4th peak of the day. Thereafter, we rejoined the main range track. After descending towards Lake Albina to collect water for the night, it was only a short walk to Mueller's Pass, where we set up camp early and enjoyed the twilight and sunset. A fantastic day out in the mountains - one that will live in my memory for a long time! Thanks for bringing me here, day1976. I am a little sad to see your alpine caches archived, as they bought us enjoyment collecting them on this hike.TFTC day1976Pete#7,648
Just after Christmas in 2019 The Bromance were scheduled to complete a 3 day hike to visit the top 10 peaks in Kosciuszko National Park. At that stage I was already in Canberra visiting relatives and about to head off to Sydney to pick up my three compatriots from the airport when word came of the bush fires erupting in the Snowy Mountains. It was not long after that the dreaded news was announced that the park had been closed, ending any hopes of completing our walk. Dejectedly we made our way back home to Queensland. Thanks to Covid, border closures, injuries and operations it has taken another 4 years for the opportunity to arise to reprise our plans. After what has seemed an eternity, I finally left Brisbane Wednesday lunchtime for the long drive down to Canberra, and reached just north of Wollongong before finding a suitable place to stop and sleep in my car overnight. Next morning I was up before sunrise to visit some local caches before continuing the remainder of the drive to Canberra airport to rendezvous with the rest of my hiking group. From there we drove to Cooma to stay overnight before heading off this morning to Charlotte Pass to commence our long awaited hike.As we assembled in the car park I had to pinch myself to make sure we were actually finally here. The weather gods were indeed smiling on us with sunny skies and low winds but the fly gods were perhaps too generous, with swarms of flies accompany our journey and settling on us as we hiked up to the lake (possible making our packs a kg heavier ??). Our pace of progress amongst the group was varied but finally we gathered at the start of the path for the walk down to the lake. After a visit to the lookout we continued along the path to the top of the rise where we took in the breath taking views of the valleys and hills below. This was probably my favourite viewpoint of the trip, although there are certainly many contenders for that honour. We dropped our main packs a short distance away, for the foray to our first designated peak of the day - Mt Twynam. Following a rough path we wound our way along the ridgeline before veering uphill to the summit and trig point for a well earned rest and refuel. From here the next designated peak was the summit of Tenison Woods Knoll, with a resupply of water gathered on the lower slopes. Retracing our steps, we found our packs again and braced ourselves for the long, steep climb up to our next summit - Mt Carruthers. It was quite a relief to make it to the top, knowing that the hardest climbing of the day was now done. While we waited for the rest of the crew to assemble, those already here went off searching for the cache which was quickly found. In accordance with the CO's wishes we have removed the cache, with Crookedpete designated to lug this one around in his pack for the rest of our hike. TFTC. A real shame it is archived, rather than adopted out, as it is so hard to place caches these days in wonderful locations like this one.
Our third major peak! We attempted to come this way 4 years ago, but the bushfires three days before our flights meant otherwise. We still came and cached, just not here. It has been in the planning for a Brisbane based crew to make our way here again, as the Kosi 2.0 group. I am certaunly much fitter now, and glad that I am. This was a long hike, but such fantastic countryside to walk in. Feeling very privileged, and a little smug that we have finally made it,Thanks to the finders seffnjarah and crookedpete.
Without support from the reviewers or HQ. Im archiving all my caches now. If youre in the area and find this one, feel free to remove it to save me having to do it. Otherwise Ill pick it up at a later date (probably Easter). Thanks for all the great logs.
Found it with Abstaria but sorry to miss the views with fog soup. Log sodden so photo attached as evidence of signature.

I found this cache on a walk from our camp above Wilkinson Creek to Blue Lake and back. The views were glorious; line after line of purple-coloured ridge stretching to the western horizon.
Found on a Tafe hike/canoe trip.We are studying in Newcastle, and we are on our final assessment. We are starting from charlottes Pass, up to Kt Kosciuszko, and walk down to the snowy river, where we jump on some rafts and paddle down the river all the way to the coast of Marlo.19 days in all.A lot of fun to grab a few in this area.TFTC
Epic view bring on the next oneThe cache itself must of got moisture in it so the notebook is too wet to write in
We left Canberra yesterday afternoon, and spent the night camping in Jindabyne, before a very early start to our walk today.
After visiting Blue Lake, we made our way further upwards, and then left the Main Range Trail to head t Mt Twynam and beyond.
With blue sky, and no clouds, we could not have asked for better views or a greater walk today.
Returning back to the junction, we joined the main track to head up to Carruthers Peak.
By now, it was early afternoon, and some find clouds are rolling in and up from the Valley below, which changed the perspective and the views enormously.
Still absolutely spectacular, after signing the log at this beautiful location, we sat down to rest for awhile before turning around to walk back to the car, which was parked at Charlotte Pass.
An awesome adventure today.
Thanks day1976.
Of course we add a FP here!

Found this cache with my partner while on the Main Range walk. Stopped at the peak for lunch, and to find this cache. Had a little trouble finding it - I think mostly because I was a bit fried at this point from all the walking and some sleep deprivation. So having the photo helped here. The logbook was a little damp but workable. Tried to wipe some of the condensation off the bag it was in. TFTC!

The second Geocache found of the day between Charlotte Pass to Thredbo via Mt Kosciuszko Summit.
After a 20km hike, I'm just so exhausted. The photos tell the story. When I have the strength, I'll write a note once I've processed the long day.

An awesome huge day hike for Joolay, albida33, Kittykatch, seebass19 and I! 22km in about 8h to get from Charlotte's Pass starting at first light to Twynam and back via Carruther. Wow I wasn't sure we would be up for it but managed slow and steady with very few breaks. A big day and good to see that we still have that in us after injuries and all.
The weather was perfect today sunny but not too hot with a little wind but not tok bad. Definitely slip slap slop weather still in late Feb but otherwise very pleasant. Drank all my 3.5L of water a little magnesium towards the end but no cramps all the way. The hiking sticks were very helpful on this generally very graded track, made the difference for me I reckon.
The company was great, I could hope for a better one. Thanks to all for the supportive and fun hiking wibe all day!
This cache was always optional and we left it for the way back to see if we were up for it. It seemed like we were ao close at the ridge line only a good 500m away and would probably never come back here (at least not any time soon) so nothing for it we had to try so again nice slow and steady got me up that hill and as I finish the hike at CP without any issues later it was definitely the right decision at the time.
So 6h into our hike and some 13km already hiked we embarked onto this extra 2km side trip took us about 45 minutes. Great to have done it and a FAVpoint for a great cache ontop a mountain.
Thank you day1976 for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

Geocaching NSW organised events at Jindabyne for this weekend and we thought why not. In the end a pretty big Canberra contingent went down but all with different plans. Kittykatch, Albida33, Flintstones, Sebass19 and myself planned on heading to Mt Twynam to find the oldie and then will we or won't we make it to Mt Carruthers. OMG the uphill walk was incredible and it just kept going up. And that was only the beginning. In the end it was a huge day 8hrs and 22kms.
I always wanted to come and visit Blue Lake but had no idea of the effort involved in getting there and then we had to go on. After conquering Mt Twynam it was back to the crossroads and then to decide if we had it in us to make it up Mt Carruthers. Let me say it was close we were all pretty buggered by then but left our bags beside a rock and trudged up. Magnificent views. Got to see Mt Kozzie in the distance and the new track they have put in. The walk was hard but so cool to have found this today. Thanks for the exercise and the fun day1976 (I think it was fun. Ask me in a few weeks)

Jindabyne Jaunt GCNW Weekend at Jindabyne Day 2. Yesterday was a travel day and a pleasant evening event. Today was the real deal part of the trip. I joined Joolay, Kitty batch, Sebass & Flintsones for a very demanding day of walking in the Australian Alps. We headed off from Jindabyne at 6.00am and were at Charlotte's Pass ready to walk at 6.45 just on sunrise. Walking down the first slope was a reminder of the doom at the end of the day, but we were fit an bright at the start of the day. The first port of call was Paramount peak, then Blue lake Earth cache. Next was the turn to the North for Mt Twynan and the target cache for the day, a bit further long 'Used to be highest.. An annoying extra bit of down and up, but found successfully. From here our return journey started, but we had to make a significant detour up Mt Curruthers for the final cache of the day. Only 200m along, but, way too much up. From here on it was the plod down to the Snowy River and then the hellish climb up heartbreak hill to Charlotte's pass to get back in the car and pretend not to die as we drove back to Jindabyne for the afternoon event followed by dinner and an early night. wow, what a day !
This was a really tough call as to whether we should head up or not. It was so close, but so far. I am sure it made a big difference to the condition of my knees, but I am glad we went and the views were amazing as they have been from all of this section of the main range.
Thanks for the cache day1976

Great location. Didn't go as far as I wanted from Charlottes Pass but we'll worth the walk. Logbook is very damp. Perhaps next person can bring a new one ? Thanks.

While doing part of the AAWT, passed by here and a quick find in a stunning part of Australia. The day snd timr had perfect conditions at this, which I had hoped for in all the planning nd prep for this 9 day hike. This section is probably just a tad better than the Bogong high Plains in Victoria.

Wow, what a day! Just over 16km walked up here today due to being sidetracked a couple of times. My aim today was visiting Blue Lake and Carruthers Peak. I decided to go to Carruthers first, and wondered if I could do Twynam as well, but part way to that hilltop, I realised my body wasn't going to do both peaks, so went back to plan A. Sadly, I chose to leave a close up visit to Blue Lake till on the way back, and my body was already exhausted and limping a little, so I had to pass on that. At least I got a good view of it from high above with another nearby cache.
The weather was all over the place today. Typical for up here, I know. Listening to the thunder rumble through the valleys on my return trip was exhilarating. It was coming from the North as well as the South. I watched the storms and felt the change in the air, but somehow managed to only get about 15 drops of rain on me altogether, and I was out there over 6 hours. It seemed to be raining everywhere but up on the NSW side of these mountains today.
How fascinating is the change in topography and geological features up here! Stand up at the very top of the hill and look one way and it's rolling hills and rounded boulders you're standing on, turn around and at your toes is a steep decent with jagged ridges and sharp looking rocks. So interesting the way the mountains have been pushed up that way, and soooo high.
Finding the cache was easy. I planned to stop for a break here so I was able to dry out a couple of pages of the very wet log book. Thanks for hiding this up here.

Good views. On way after highest mountain. Damp log put drying gel in plastic bag. Will probably dry. All good otherwise. Tftc
We did the main range loop during this long weekend. The weather was really good. Blue sky, no wind. Perfect condition for few caches on the way !
At GZ it was a quick and easy find. And the view ... AWESOME. Thanks to bring us there.

Nice place to hide a cache! Coming back from Mt Kosciuzko, great way to finish the hike! Thanks for the cache!!
An unexpected fee caches today as our plans changed last minute and we decided to walk the whole main range track. Perfect conditions made for a great walk, anti clockwise today.

Out on a ski trip with the Canberra Cross Country Ski Club and spotted this cache. Dry inside but needs a pencil. Signed and now on to lunch.
Added onto the end of my long walk to grab GCF7. The shadows were getting longer by now, so time to head on back down to Charlotte Pass. TFTC.
Second cache of the day on an epic 30km hike around the Main Range via Mt Townsend. This was a straightforward find at a great spot for morning tea - cache and log are in good condition. Awesome spot. Thank you!
The planets aligned, perfect weather and opportune timing with a couple of spare days saw me here enroute to Wollongong from NE Vic - also daughter hadn’t been up here in ‘summer’ so I says how about hiking a few days. The Easter peak is on the wane but this is still busy, so luckily the nicely placed hide was away from most lunchateers. Mission accomplished and splendid views soaked up whilst remembering mad ski touring days a few decades ago! TFTC and the FUN!
Found this cache while attempting the ten highest peaks walk. Arrived at GZ and took in the photo hint and realised I was standing on the cache. Did the legals and replaced as found. TFTCM

TFTC Doing a CBC Main Range walk today, 24km in 6.5hrs. For the most part it was beautifully cool with a great breeze. Started the loop from Charlotte Pass. Kosi was crowded out with day trippers so didn’t bother doing that side trip. Did take in Blue Lake, Carruthers Peak, Northcote Pass, Muellers Pass, Rawson Pass, Seamans Hut, and Summit Walk back. Grateful thanks to the CO for placing and maintaining this cache. Plenty of room in the log and dry.
Summer holiday time, and day 4 at Thredbo - Today we headed back to Charlotte pass later in the afternoon, and this time out to Blue Lake, and then, because the weather was so perfect, the sky so clear, and the mountains so awesome, we decided to keep climbing up to Mt Curruthers to see what the view was like from up there.
So, we got to the top. And WOW!!! - what a view - words can't describe.
We ended up spending an hour up there just soaking up the incredible views. It was enough to make us talk about getting some lightweight camping gear so we can spend some nights up in the Alps.
Thanks for all the cache day1976 - and thanks for bringing us up to this incredible spot - a fav point for sure - I would give 2 if I could!

Quite an easy find in the finish during a long days walk. The Springwood Bushwalking Club come to Charlotte Pass every year and most of us have done the circuit walk to Mt Carruthers, Club Lake and return, enjoying the wild flowers and of course the spectacular views. Cache is in good condition. Signed and replaced. Thanks to the Bushrangers for placing the cache.
Whew what a spot, glad we had reception up here so we could check out if there were caches nearby. Also found the survey mark on the rocks above and logged at Geocaching.com.au
Don’t mind doing a bit of a walk to find a chache, Epically when the view is this good!!! Glad for the weather today, and just loving being out in the Australian alpine
Today to celebrate my birthday, Mr poolpool treated me to something I've always wanted to do, the Main Range walk. What a display it lived up to. Perfect weather, fantastic 360 degree views, and not an area to disappoint. Big day walking and caching, about 30km in total. Part of that was the detour to Mt Townsend, Australia's 2nd highest peak. Awesome day, finished by climbing lots of highs!! Tftc
Out on the 10 Peaks Challenge for the day. Wonderful walk and company.

Found on a walk before NSW closed its border to southerners. Wind was now quite cold and pretty strong, cloud close to ground. Located after a short search, in good condition. Thanks.
The views along this path are amazing, i cant believe how long it took for me to spot this one but found it in the end. TfTc
What a spot! Watch out for the ‘biocaches’ people have left under small rocks, with toilet paper...if you get my drift. Don’t turn over the little flat rocks!
Heaps of mountain Gentians flowering among other things. Sweetest flower in the mountains (prove me wrong!)
Cache has a bit of water in it. Tipped it out but pretty damp. Log book is ok.

Today, it's the 13th day of my trip in Australia and my 4rd day between Melbourne and Sydney.
Today, it's one of my main goals of my trip, reach the summit of Australia, the Mt Kosciuszko.
So I planned all my day for walking here and in the area .
I park at Charlotte Pass carpark and I'm starting to hike around 8am.
Unfortunately, the weather wasn't good. Foogy. When I reached the top, it was raining and I see nothing around with the fog .
So I continue my way by doing the main range track and took a detour to do the old cache "Australia's Used-to-be-Highest" also.
Later when I was on the main range track, the clouds start to disappear and I finish by having almost a clear sky. Great , so at the moment I can see the view from all range around it was amazing .
In total, I've done 30km in 6h, plus 1h - 1h30 of break/stop along the way with 1000m of elevation.
When I was hiking on the main range track, I'm stopped here for this cache. I search a little bit and I found it . From here, the fog started to disappear. A really nice view here.
Greetings from Belgium.

The area of the walk is always the highlight.

A well earned 5-day Alpine xmas camping & hiking trip for team novo to wind up the decade. We did three legs all up, the first being here today out from Charlotte Pass, the second being a day planned along the Main Range Track from Thredbo chair tomoz out to Kosciuszko and (hopefully) Townsend, and then our third leg a bike ride out along the Machinery Spur at Hotham among other things, after a day's drive from here via the Alpine way.
We all agreed that this is a *very* special area. We enjoyed today's hike immensely, which took us ultimately out beyond Mt Twynam, via the Blue Lake and Carruthers Pk. Still a lot of snow on the ground which was a real thrill, giving us our first ever aussie white Christmas. The view from Carruthers Peak was possibly the greatest we experienced over the two days in this NP. At the top we met an experienced hiking group who had just come from the Main Range Track via Thredbo. I asked the leader if he'd done Townsend before and said "one time, yes" but that it is hard to find the trail up. He suggested the climb would likely be too difficult ATM as half of the trail, if we could find it, would be under a lot of snow. A shame as it is on our agenda for tomoz ...we'll see how we go! Anyhow, a short search here where we found the nicely hidden cache and signed the log. We also dropped a very special TB here, being what is left of our [Green Lantern geocar](https://coord.info/TB79T29). This momentous TB exchange at an epic location we felt was the only farewell befitting of this awesome machine which served us so well for many years.
An absolute Cracker of a cache which gets our FP of the day. TFTC, day1976 - our first find of one of your caches ...and by no means the last, nay even on this trip!

We were up on the main range for a stroll to see if we had any shred of fitness left after our great Nepal fail.
Well, after the haul up the hill, then out to Tywnam and back, then up to here, all in about 20m visibility, it turns out we actually don't have as much fitness as we used to.....
So as we didn't need to waste time looking at the non-existent views, we got straight into the finding part, and it was the Queen who came up with the treasure, followed by the obligatory log book signing.
It was quite busy up here today despite the icky weather, we had about 10 tradies with all their 4wds back at the intersection having morning tea, and three seperate school groups who all filed past one at a time whilst we were up here.
Then as it was possibly going to be the only place for a fair while where we could shelter from the wind, so we did and had some lunch.
They tell me the views go on forever......

Weekend in Jindabyne to celebrate Team Canary's 10,000th find in the company of b@w and Noodles22. After breakfast, we drove to Charlottes Pass to find some type of running event in progress, which made parking a little more distant than expected. By 10:45 we had reached the lofty heights of Carruther's Peak where we made a quick find. Much warmer than expected and needed to slap on plenty of sunscreen. Next stop, 10,000 Canaries event...

I joined forces with Crash2079, and Bella at Waggy to help Team Canary find his 10Kth cache. It was supposed to be an early start, but it was warmer than i expected and all my extra great i carried wasn't needed.
Lucky Bella had already found this one so he sat at the bottom of the track and watched our bags as the rest of us climbed to the summit.
Thanks for the cache.

The plan for today was to catch the chairlift up to Eagle's Nest, then do as many of the Aussie Peaks caches before heading down to Charlotte Pass to be picked up by my understanding geowife. So much for that. Waiting patiently near the front of the queue we were told that there was a gremlin in the system, so would have to wait for up to half an hour.
Waiting, waiting and eventually, after abour 45 minutes, we were told that the wait could be hours. That left a lot of very frustrated mtb riders (at Thredbo for a downhill festival) and a lot of unhappy hikers, along with a frustrated cacher stranded at the bottom of the mountain. The options were: wait until the chairlift was working (not enough time to waste); get a refund and walk up (not with my overweight frame and dodgy knees) or drive to Charlotte Pass and do what I could from the northern end of the Main Ridge(the favorable option).
Luckily geowife Malipara hadn't left Thredbo, so it was back in the car for a drive around to Charlotte Pass.
The journey kicked off with the walk down to the headwaters of the Snowy River as I noted, "That's not going to be fun on the return journey"
It was like Bourke St. There were walkers spread out along the wide and well made trails. I checked in with other caches near Blue Lake and Mt Twynam, then made for Carruthers Peak. The going was slower than planned, as I kept stopping to admire and photograph the spectacular scenery.
Approaching gz, I was stunned by the vista. Looking across to Mt Townsend was tantalizing, but time was running down and it would have to wait for another day. Finding the cache at Carruthers Peak took a few minutes, as a couple of muggle hikers were also admiring the view.
Find made swiftly and tb grabbed, now for the return walk.
What a great place to go caching. Worth a fp for sure. Oh, and that last 500 metres back to the car was a real ba#@%rd.
Thanks Day, I look forward to coming back for the rest of the series.

It was so much windy that we couldn’t stand. Very nice view. Found on 27/1/2019. Thanks for the cache.
I had a caching mission in mind. Four caches, parking at the top of Charlotte Pass in the morning and returning around lunch. With the young fella, who has some good running legs, it took us 3.5hrs. Left at 9:00, getting to Australia's-used-to-be-highest at 10:20, backtracking to Mt Carruthers for 11:15, Blue Lake viewing platform at 11:40, the trad at 11:50 then back to the car by 12:30. Very light rain and some wind was acceptable conditions.
I found this one quickly. Good thing that, as the cool breeze was picking up. Great views. TFTC day1976

This one was brutal. The incline was bad enough, but we were also battling no cover, strong rain, and incredibly strong winds. It was hard enough to keep the legs going and stepping properly on the stones on the way up, let alone finding the cache.
Eventually staggered off the trail and made the find within a few minutes. Struggled to sign and put the log back in with the high wind and rain. We were laughing because the strong wind meant that we were being pushed around the mountain and almost blown off it. Amazing views on the way up though.
A really great experience that won't be forgotten in a hurry.

The peak was a welcome break and I was happy just to sit and enjoy not carrying a backpack for a while the clouds started to lift and so did my spirit as view started to show itself little by little which made the journey here from Charlotte Pass via Blue Lake, Australia's used to highest cache and Mt Twynam worthwhile.
The cache was quickly located and is in good condition.
I all we covered a little over 20 Ks for the day and camped at Mueller's Pass the night before
before a Kosi Summit and easy walk to Kosi Lookout where we cut a more or less direct path cross-country to Mt Stilwell

This year, for the second time of my life, I travelled on holiday to Australia. The last tour has been in 1995, but this time something was a little different. For the first time I didn’t travel in a group, this was my first tour, were I was totally alone. I had booked the flights to Brisbane and from Adelaide and for the three weeks in between I rented a very small campervan, in which I could sleep and was able to do a little cooking. For me, this was enough.
In three weeks I was able to drive more than 5000 kilometres and could find around 90 caches, including all of the Australian caches from 2000. To finish the Jasmer Challenge was the other thing I wanted to do. There was only one month open and this was October 2000. With two different caches from this month in the country I could finish the challenge and in the end I visited them both. The best thing is: I didn’t need a cache of the USA to complete my Jasmer.
----------
Today I was lucky that I spend the night at Island Bend. When I drove back to Charlotte Pass in the morning, the road was already closed due to a bicycle race. But then the guards opened the barrier for me and told me that I had to stay up the mountains till evening. That was OK with me, because I wanted to walk the big circle.
First I went to Blue Lake by crossing the Snowy River over the stepping stones. There was relatively much water in the river, so I had to be very careful. Then the path went up and till I reached the Blue Lake most of the time a really strong wind was blowing. I had to keep my hat under the hood of my jacket; otherwise it would have been blown away.
Later I wanted to walk into the North on the Main Range, but first I had to follow the path three kilometres into the south. After I found the cache from year 2000 I went back to Main Range Track, but before I made a little detour to Mt. Twynam. Here I stopped to eat something and to look for the cache. I had to search a little bit longer, because the coordinates were jumping back and forth.

### Easter trip 2018 ###
----------
We've planed a trip to Jindabyne this year.
To get there, we took the inland route via Canberra where we've stayed for one night. We've then continued on to Jindabyne and have stopped at many interesting locations on the way there.
We've walkes up to the summit of
Mt Kosciusko on Easter Saturday. We've taken the main range walk up to the summit of 26km total distance. Great challenging hike past the blue lake and many other little mountain lakes.
The view up there was magnificent.
Back in Jindabyne, we've walked around the lake and have visited the sculptures near the lake.
We took the coastal route for the way home back to Sydney staying in Batemans Bay for the night.
We've stopped at many interesting locations and have visited some caches along the way as well
Thank you to all the owners for showing us the places

This was our first in the series after visiting Mt Twynam, blue Lake and Watson's crag earlier in the day.
Retrieved the required information from the cache and looked for a nice place to stay for the night.

I picked this up while walking the main range track. There are some really great views here and the scenery is quite different to what I'm used to. I glad I made it out. Thanks
I walked the Main Range track on Australia Day and this was the first time for me along this part of the track. Wonderful scenery on a day we could see to the mountains beyond. I am so glad I got up here - thanks to DarkSideDan for arranging the walk. Cache in good condition and clue collected. TFTC

Day 1 of 3 day main range circuit with the geokids. A nice easy find which was a welcome diversion as the energy levels were flagging. Thanks for the cache!
The first time since leaving the ACT that we have had power and it's time to log some caches. We are now in Victoria.

This was very special. Our third in the series and it will take a return visit or 2 to complete the multi. Just need to remember all the details found.
Today was our attempt to get GCF7 and this was the second cache today. leaving Charlotte Pass we had now walked 6.88Km,s in 2.5Hrs and were at 2159M facing winds in excess of 60Km,s / hr.
This is a part of our adventure trip that takes us to the National Riley Rally on Philip Island, Bush walking at the Grampians that we missed last trip because of fires, a 50th with a friend on the Murray River and the Red Center Experience GC6825Z before returning home with skibum1 from America via Broken Hill, Lightning Ridge, Killcoy and Armidale.
A favorite from me for this cache.
Visited a group of trackable to end their adventure with me at Alice Springs.

I thought yesterday was an epic journey to the top of Mt Kosciuszko 28,000 steps, but today will top it 35,000 steps. After a couple of hours, we arrived at Blue Lake, then on and up and then the wind I have never experienced such strong wind, one foot forward then pushed sideways, luck I did get to the top, then Wazza9 located the contained quickly, before we got swept off the mountain. signed the log and got out of here quickly to try to find a place for lunch without the wind. Thanks to day1976.

Two weeks in Australia for holidays with Kirdec, fourth day in Australia.
we arrived in the area of The kosciuszko national park the day before, because we want to look for an historical cache in this area : the GCF7, a november 2000 cache.
The objective of the day was the GCF7, but finally we made 3 more caches in the vicinity.
Departure 8h30 from Charlotte Pass, return 15h30 under a beautiful sun and blue sky.
Beautiful landscapes all along the way, we loved this walk in the mountains. The last climb back was a little torture;)
With only a break to go and the GC26E4 cache, we reached the GCF7 in 3 hours of quiet walk.
At GC22E4, we have a beautiful view on the Lake Blue, this is absolutely magic.
The ammo box was quickly found at coordinates by me
At GCF7, that was Kirdec who found the box and the special logbook . We have written on the last page, keep careful for the next one.
Picnic break at GCF7, and we decided to go to the "Aussie Peaks - Carruther's Peak" (GC5EK3D).
Another beautiful view here !
And last, we went to the Blue Lake for the earthcache.
A really pleasant day
Thanks to the owners for theses caches.

Day 4 in Australia with Junkys.
Today it's a very special day for me because after more four years of geocaching, today, my goal is to finish my jasmer with GCF7 placed in November 2000 because it is the lonely month missing in my jasmer.
Thanks to that we discovered this beautiful Kosciusko Park. Landscapes were absolutely fabulous and I was so happy to walk 7 hours on the mountain, in the middle of nature.
We found 5 caches today, and it was an amazing day.
We started by GC26E4 #28 Great Southern Land (2) The Paramount Peak after 2 hours walking : nice old ammo box !
We continued by GCF7 Australia's Used-to-be-Highest : so nice and absolutely amazing to be here ( we used last page of the logbook )
After that we continued our walk until GC5EK3D Aussie Peaks - Carruther's Peak : it was hard to open the box ! View from this cache was also fantastic.
After that, we decided to see Earthcache GC6CVRJ Blue Lake Cirque : so lovely lake, we enjoyed it, and it was time to return to our car... It was far !!
On the way to go back to our hotel, we made a drive-in stop to log GCKC19 Island Bend.
It was an unforgettable day for me.
I love Aussies Landscapes !!
Thank you day1976 for the cache and greetings from France.

Today was the Mt Townsend Event day and we were eagerly up early and waiting at Charlottes Pass to see if there was any other keen geocachers coming along for the journey. Alas it was just Day and I, but this meant we had plenty more time to get around this beautiful park Bluebird day! The sun was out and I don't think it got above 25 degrees throughout the day, there was a slight cool breeze every so often that was refreshing and welcome. All up we walked 34km today, bagged the 4 tallest peaks in Australia, and were in awe of the amazing beauty this place has to offer. Couldn't have asked for a better day out!
Cache #6 for today.
After the event we traversed across Muellers Peak and down to the main range track again. The walk to GZ was stunning, looking down at the lake and the steep rocky sides of the mountains around it. We were very interested in exploring more of this area but left it for another trip.
As we walked up towards the peak there were a keen group of scientists doing an ecological survey of some endemic plant species which are only found on this small section of rocky ground not far from the track. It was cool to see them going about their job and noticing something that has such a small area of existence.
Arriving at GZ the cache was located quickly, and fortunately for me the CO was able to be called over to replace the very wet log book. This was another amazing view point in the park. Being able to look down into the steep gorges from here was unreal, we tried to count on the map how far down they went and we figured it was over 400m down. Maybe someone should apply to put a cache down there...?
This was a fantastic location well worthy of a cache, and so easy to get to once you reached the summit.

Found Aussie Peaks - Carruther's Peak in Kosciuszko National Park with Mikev1 while on a hike there. SR
Had decided to find some of the caches near here in the amazing Kosciuszko National Park, so I headed out with SmudgeyCat for the day.
We parked the car at Charlotte Pass and then headed off on the Main Range Track towards Blue Lake and this cache.
This is the third time I have walked this track. The first many years ago when I did the Summit Walk and main Range Track loop, back to Charlotte Pass. The last time I did this shorter walk to Blue Lake, and on both occasions the lake was a beautiful blue.
On this trek we saw lots of wildflowers, some birds, and even some snow just beside the track. We made it across the famous Snowy River without falling. The walk was a bit longer than I remembered, but fortunately not too hot (though I still got burnt).
After having found the other 2 caches north, we came back to this and saw that it wasn't too far away from the path junction. By now there was a fog up in these high areas, so it wasn't quite as scenic. We were definitely getting very tired at this point but made it back in the end. Phew.
