Without support from the reviewers or HQ. Im archiving all my caches now. If youre in the area and find this one, feel free to remove it to save me having to do it. Otherwise Ill pick it up at a later date (probably Easter). Thanks for all the great logs.
Went cross country for this one.
The fog and clouds made it challenging to see where I was going, as well as the fact my glasses kept fogging up so I took them off and put the in the backpack.
My geocaching companion obviously thought I was fitter than I am or that I can see well without my glasses.
Anyway, he was gone and was not able to hear me calling out.
Had a mini melt down but trudged on and arrived at GZ for it to be located.
I live to see another day.

Today we took on Mt Kosciuszko and won. With an 11 year old and two 15 year olds in tow in freezing (the lady at the chairlift ticket office said it was -5⁰ at the summit) conditions we rode the chairlift to the start of the 6.5k walk to the summit. Less than 500m in one 15 year old said, "my legs are sore" and I thought we're no chance of making the summit but to their credit they put in a magnificent effort to battle wind, rain, sleet, hail and the cold to all make it to the top. This cache, our first for the day, took us off the excellent walkway and into the wet grass and rocks. GZ was about 450m off track and the wind had really picked up by the time we arrived. Zinnia94 not overly happy with me walking ahead and out of sight in this location with these conditions. There were rocks, rocks and more rocks but eventually the right one was moved and the prize (our highest ever found cache) was spotted. Sadly due to the low level clouds, there were no views today. Nice hide, thanks for the effort put into placing this series. TFTC
OCW MC, EH, LL & GHHH. Amazing weather for hiking in the majestic Snowy Mountains today. Not to cold or windy and mostly blue skies. Love the challenge of a high terrain cache, especially when it offers an opportunity to explore beautiful natural landscapes. TFTC day1976!
A strenuous hike up the mountain and then the off track was even harder but the views are incredible! TFTC OCW EH, MA, LL, MC Took TB
Walking back from Mt Townsend, I detoured up here. Found on south side rocks near top. Cache in good condition. TFTC Day1976
After our last trip to the summit was cut short due to the weather forecast, I had these calling to me for near on 2 weeks. Had decided to do the north Ridge, but that didn't pan out either, so next best was these 3. This was first after ascending on the chairlift and following the steel road. I turned off at a desired spot and worked the contour lines till I found gz. I started the search and searched evey nook and cranny 30metres either side of gz, with only a cursory look on the dark side. Read logs, looked at photos, but had not seen the rock In the spoiler. This task made harder, as I left my glasses back at camp. Finally on nearly giving up, I started a systematic search on the dark side, and soon ahead cache in hand. My 8th of this DT combo. Thanks for the walk in the Alps, very enjoyable so far. Favourite from me.
Wonderful view given a space from all the recent rain.

Will be back once again in the height of winter for an overnight stay.

We were a bit set back getting this one, as about half the distance off “ the metal rails” Mrs Riddell discovered she had lost her phone!!!
Shock horror!
It could have only been at the lookout site, up behind the large rocks when she visited the tree, so to speak.
Before doing anything else the pack contents where chucked out, checking checking till the entire pack was empty. Nope not here, must be back at the view point. Oh well, may as well grab this cache first and then check out the phones whereabouts.
So, the cache was quickly sort and found thank goodness and so was the phone.
That added about 45 minutes of precious time to our day.
TFTC which we will always be remembered for the phone and having to retrace our steps a bit.

A great day for a walk up Mt Kosciusko with what seemed like half of NSW! It was great to detour off track up to this cache where it felt like we had the whole park to ourselves. Cache was easily located at GZ and is in very good condition. A favourite from us!
Found on the push to Rams head with EthisEthat and MeandDe.
We made it up the hill with little trouble but that isn't to say our legs didn't hate us after. Found, signed and replaced relatively easily.

After managing to climb Mt Kosciusko for the third time in as many weeks, I had planned to head over to this cache and Rams Head by myself. I mentioned this plan at the [Start 2022 on top of Australia](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC9K3F3_start-2022-ontop-of-australia) event held by [Purplepeopleater](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=a54583fe-a854-48d7-a59c-3b0a2de498c2&wid=eb55edb5-2d40-48fa-a495-22d92a44cfef&ds=2) at the top of Mt Kosciusko and managed to garner the attention of two keen young geocachers. So the three of us - Me, EthisEthat and FejerFam - plus one responsible adult headed off track. Luckily the enthusiasts did all the work and all I had to do was arrive late and sign the log!

Out with FejerFam and MeAndDe after the event to grab these two. They required quite a bit of effort and I swear those peaks are steeper in person than on the map! Anyway we got up this one decently quickly (well at least compared to the other one). Cache soon found and onto the next one. TFTC!
I here by declare this unnamed peak “macca’s peak. Just kidding. This was probably the easiest of this series to find. Did the legals and replaced as found. TFTCM

Finally returned for this one to break the slump and try to finish clearing out the whole Thredbo area of caches.
Took the chairlift up first thing, rose above the clouds and set off on quite a warm trek and a long day. Great weather for hiking and caching.
Headed off trail around Lake Cootapatamba to make the ascent, which was challenging but possible with many breaks. Cache find was relatively straight forward. Took some photos at the nearby rock cairns as well before heading off towards a perilous frontal assault on Rams Head North.
Thanks for the cache!

Today me and Nighthawk238 decided to do some caching in the snowy mountains, with our goal being to start at Charlottes Pass, walk to rawsons pass, earth cache at Lake Cootapatamba, then collect caches on rams head, the mutli at the top of Mount Kosciusko, the cache on Mount Townsend (possibly the earth cache as well but I'm no geologist) and then back to Charlottes Pass via the main range. There was a Ultra Marathon today on the mountain, 25km (one loop) and 50km (2 loops) and we thought that the 600 runners had Rocks in their heads. Turns out our quest to find all those caches meant we also had rocks in our heads, mainly real heavy ones. Turns out our loop and subsequent detours ended in a brutal 38km hike, starting at 8.45am and returning back to the car at 8.30pm. The apprentice cacher Nighthawk238 struggled to maintain his sanity throughout the day and getting back to the car was something both of us were looking foreword too.
I forgot the one thing that a cacher needs and that is a pen so it was a 50/50 chance I would find one at GZ, unfortunately there wasn't one. The only thing I added to log was my Green-Martian Sticker and a photo of cache with a computer generated scribble of cache lid clue. TFTC

This last side trip to this cache was though after all the biking and walking we had done but very worth it. I enjoyed this spot so much more than the top of Kosciuszko with all the people. While we had this spot for ourself and the view were just as nice if not nicer. The only downside was the trampling of the plants we had to do to get here, felt like walking on a soft carpet and we felt a bit bad about it. Despite that still a FAVpoint, for this nice location and also the effort of putting this and the other caches out here.
The hike:
DSD called to THE mointain (witht the CITO) and lots of people came. A great day out! What a nice hike/ride here today with perfect weather and all the familar faces. A big 26k effort from us (with some side trips, most of it on the bike) What a great feeling to suddently be at the highest point in Australia and to collect so many high altitude caches up here today. Big thank you to DSD for initiating this and for the cache owners up here (mainly day1976) for putting so many caches out in the area. I spend a few hours afterward to collect more caches in the area on the way home.
Thank you day1976 for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

**This Cache:**
Not many people made this detour today, looks like Wilbert67 must have been here very early in the morning though, can't believe how he possibly managed that much distance before the CITO even began!? Incredible!
Myself, Sui and Flintstones found this one together before heading back up to Rawson Pass. This was probably our favourite cache of the day. The view and serenity at this location was just stunning, much nicer than it was up at the Kosi Peak with 100+ other people. Would have never thought to hike off track and come here without this cache! A BIG FAVOURITE! Thanks

**Today:**
DARKSIDEDAN really has some great community initiative, and provides us with many opportunities to push people out of their comfort zone, set new personal challenges, and visit parts of Australia they may not otherwise! He decided to host a CITO event on top of Mount Kosciuszko, and the turn out to such an event in such a location was really impressive! I know I wouldn't have visited this location without his initiative!
What a great day it was too! Myself and Sui left at 6am from Canberra, with the Ute Tray packed with bikes and our backpacks plenty of food and water. We didn't run out of it either and ended up with plenty left over which was great as that is always one of my big worrys!
We started off a bit bumpy with meeting places etc, but it all turned out to be ok in the end and we headed up the track from Charlottes Pass. We only managed to ride the bikes for the first 3km, before it became a little too steep for us non-powered and non-regular bike riders. So had to push them up for the next 4km!
After climbing Kosciuszko, and then detouring for several kilometres to boost our finds over 2000m, we headed back down to the car. That 4km of bike pushing was BY FAR worth it when we absolutely sped down the mountain, cleaning up all 7km of track in only about 15 minutes excluding the quick stop at Seamans Hut! It was also absolutely exhilarating and the best fun I had all day! I want to come back just to do that again!
Thanks to DSD for hosting the CITO, and for all the cache owners including day1976 for the incredible work of gaining permission to hide physical caches up here, without him today would have also not been possible! Well done to all attendees as well, with no accidents or problems it was a great day out!

I was getting extremely tired and out of breath, this was our last find up, before we headed back down.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Big day today! First rode my bike from Charlottes pass to Rawson pass, walked up Mt Kosciuzko for some great pics, then down and towards Thredbo. After a few hundred meters left the track and went off track up Ramshead north and then finished on Ramshead. Oh and then back up Mt Kosciuzko again for a CITO!
Drove bike back to Charlottes Pass and a 5 hrs drive home.

I come to Thredbo each January for a thing once called the National Running Week (now National Fun and Fitness Week). I've seen these caches every year but have been too focussed on the races like a try-hard so didn't ever make the detour to get them. This year it isn't really on due to Covid so decided this was the year ... continued on Rams Head log
Another peak to bag on the way up tot the CITO. Part of Canary's 10K trekking weekend.

Great view. Wandered off the kosci main trail. Enjoyed the wild flowers along the way
Oh so close! I got right up onto this range and was taking a leisurely stroll toward the cache when I went to pull out my GPS and noticed it was missing.
I could have continued on to the cache using my phone, but weighing up the costs between an unloved find, the price of the GPS, and the long walk down the hill if I missed the last lift ride, I decided to turn back.
Do you know how hard it is to backtrack through a huge pile of rocks without a GPS? Thankfully I noticed things along my way that helped me figure it out, and there was my gps.
Now that's a long write note. You can imagine how much longer my find note will be when I return next year. Haha.

First one on our way to Mt. Kościuszko. Was quite a hard walk from the bottom of the track, but totally worth it. Amazing view from the top. TFTC
Today has consisted of team novo heading up along the Main Range Track from Thredbo chair out to Mt Kosciuszko as part of a three-leg camping & hiking trip in the snowies and in the VIC Alpines. We were surprised to find it so busy in this area today, as opposed to yesterday's leg 1 at the other end of the track to the north of Charlotte Pass where we only saw a handful of other folks. Today was +40° across the state but up here a lovely mild sunny day with a light breeze about the exposed sections - absolutely fantastic conditions for exploring this part of the world!
Once we started back from the top of Kosciuszko at ~2.30pm, the others went on ahead of me to make the final 4.30pm chair, whereas I still had some unfinished business for the day and was not leaving without making the absolute most out of the light this almost-longest-day-of-the-year would provide! First up, I realised that I had left it a bit late in the day to include *everything* so made the call to chop Mt Townsend from the itin which was a shame ...but it just means I will have to come back sometime! After gathering the info up-top required for *Aussie Peaks - Mt Kosciuszko*, I made my way DOWN to that cache's WP1 at Seamans Hut next to gather the rest of the required info. It was a substantial detour of ~3kms return from Rawson Pass, but with plenty of water on hand and a lovely afternoon to be had, it was a fantastic section added to the day's proceedings.
After the uphill section back to Rawson Pass, it was time to focus on this (next) cache of the Aussie Peaks series. At around 250m past the Cootapatamba Lookout at Etheridge Gap, it was time to take the step OFF the metal walkway onto the meadows of Rams Head Range where, I have to say, the real fun of the day really began. Basically making a beeline for the cache from that point (~500m), I walked UP and over an unnamed peak ...before reaching the *actual* unnamed peak where the most incredible views and terrain were had. It was interesting to get a different perspective of Kosciuszko, which was still fairly close at ~2kms. The isolation was certainly a welcome change to the earlier part of the day which saw tourist after tourist. Fortunately there was no sign of slithery sticks in this rough stuff. Once at GZ I got stuck into the job at hand which, after a brief false start due to arriving on what turned out to be the wrong side, made a welcome find of our fifth Aussie Peaks cache at 4.04pm. Don't think I'm gonna make that chair. Don't really care either. I took a lot of pics out here. TFTC and series (so far), day1976.

We are really lucky - This was a perfect day for a walk in the mountains including the one to the top! Sunny ️, no clouds ️, almost no wind Sometimes snow, but not too much and easy to cross So we took the chairlift to the top and continued walking on the boardwalk, which gives the opportunity to look around and keep on walking
First of all we decided to "climb" this unnamed peak. No problems A bit of snow, big boulders, but good to get it to the top. There we could find the first geocache of the day. - Thanks for the box at this peak!

A nice bash from the main trail though the shrubs and beautiful scenery out to GZ
After a few miss hits I then found it.

This was our last cache on the top of Australia and has to be the hardest since we were a bit knackered by now, doing a detour to Seamans Hut didn't help in that regard.
We stopped a few time on the way to GZ and searched in the wrong place to start with but after goose spotted our mistake we soon had the cache in hand.
Now it just a quick walk to the chairlift and the Eagles Nest to finish off our day.
thanks for the caches today Day.

After a side trip down to Seamans Hut we had one cache left on our list. We had messed about a bit and were worried about time but were not going to leave without finding this one.
This was tough going for both of us. We are not overly fit and this climb late in the day had us huffing and puffing and we needed a few short stops on the way. At GZ we were searching the wrong side to start with but after crossing over we found it quickly.
Thanks day1976. Now will we have time for a beer before the Eagles Nest closes?

I spent today walking and finding caches in the Thredbo and Mount Kosciusko areas. I was lucky again with the weather, which was just perfect for walking.
I made the slight side-trip to this cache as I headed back towards Thredbo. The easy route seemed to br straight up the north-eastern ridge line.
Thanks day1976 for the cache.

The object of the day was to get the chair lift up and find two geocaches on Mt. Townsend.
Alas due to high winds the chair lift was not open so we had to walk up the slope to the main range. The weather was even windier on the top and there was lots of low cloud so we amended our plan to come here and then go across to the Rams Head range for a few caches.
Found with previous finder and a part time cacher. Love this area and well worth the walk.

Day 2 as part of the Team Canary Hiking Support Crew to celebrate his 10.000th find along with Crash’s 3,000th. This time we were joined by PPE ZQX and TikvaNZ. This time up in the chair lift today but it turned out to be a bigger day than yesterday with a Trip to Townsend squeezed in.
Great trip out to Rams Head and then this one on the way back before joining the walk way and onto the Earth Cache. We spotted a couple of campers along the way. With such a big group no problem making the finds. TFTC.

As we continued along I ended up here before the others and made a quick before descending back to the walkway where my son was waiting.

After a big day yesterday where we headed off from Charlottes Pass, we were back for more but this time starting with an easy chairlift ride to gain some elevation. Before we left Jindabyne, we met up with ZQX and TikvaNZ who were joining the Team Canary Hiking Support Crew for today's adventure.
Made our way cross country from Rams Head, thankful for the relatively level approach. Liking these containers and always mindful to grab the clue
Next stop: Aussie Peaks - Unnamed Peak I

Came here with four friends after we had found Rams Head. I made the find after a short search. Five pairs of eyes really helps. TFTC!
The second day of a big caching weekend, Team Canary, Bella at Waggy, Crash2079, ZQX, TikvaNZ, and purplepeopleeater teamed up to combat the highest peaks in the Australian Alps.
After taking the chairlift up (I was glad i didn't have to climb most of the way) we set off up the track.
This one we approached from Rams head, so the was a lot of off track plodding between the peaks.
Thanks for the cache.

Today we walked from Dead Horse Gap to Mt. Kosciuszko. On the way back I made a detour to find this cache. The hill was bit rough in the heat, but the view is amazing.
Thank you for bringing me here!!!

A couple of days hiking in the mountains is always fun. Hiked from Dead Horse Gap to Rams Head North then several in-named peaks before Mt Kosi. Down to the Lake and back to Rams Head before heading back to Dead Horse Gap. Tied, sore and cramped, I headed home to Canberra. Spotted two Copperhead Snakes at 1900 meters above sea level.

Our last cache on the range before we spent most of the day heading back to the car. Great views from up here after the cloud finally cleared.
We camped last night in Mullets Pass and all up covered a little over 40 is over 2 days after this cache we headed to the Kosciuszko Lookout where we cut a more or less direct path cross-country to Mt Stillwell and then down to Charlotte Pass where our vehicle was parked.
It's been over 20 years since my last visit to the area which was with my wife and I enjoyed returning with my adult son.
Thanks for placing and maintaining these caches

We came across your cache, day1976, on our geocaching holiday in Canberra.
Today we did Mt. Kosciusko. On the way back this was a quick find.
Log signed and replaced at 12.45 pm on 10 March 2018. TFTC.

I set off for this cache around 6pm just after setting up camp about 2 km south of the amenities block below Mt Kosciusko.
Took about 30 minutes to reach the cache and only a couple to find. The views to the south were truly remarkable. Rams Head and North Rams Head very spectacular in the afternoon sun.
Cache in great condition.
Thanks

I enjoyed a great walk up Mt Kosciuszko on the weekend with four muggle friends who I also convinced to do some geocaching. This was a quick find thanks to the co-ords. TFTC!
#3696 1st for today
An Aussie-Day long weekend geomission to Jindabyne/Thredbo & Mt Kosi to attend the Australia Day event held on Australia's highest point with DarkSideDan, Blue Iris, KittyKatch, TIkvaNZ and a late showing from Grimrader. Sadly Joolay had to pull out. I decided to bring the kayak so we could have a go on the lake. Nice to be away from the heat, but Jindabyne was pretty busy for the long weekend. Thursday night was a bit damp which was not ideal for those of us setting up camp, but the weather improved from there on. All in all, a pretty fun weekend with some big achievements. Also great to catch up with some other visiting geocachers.
After assessing to weather was OK, I decided to hike out to this one. The underfoot off the main path proved tricky to negotiate as it was very soft and uneven. I still managed to make it up to this one and found it without too much trouble, although the flies, including large ones that bite were a nuisance. The journey back down to the main path was full of wildflowers and even a bit of snow ! Enjoyed this one a lot.

Happy Australia day! What a wonderful view of almost 360 degrees. Absolutely great that we were alone at GZ instead of being with the other several hundred up here today. That's for taking us there! TFTC #teamscrubs
My first cache for the year and I loved it. A nice steady climb from the boardwalk and over the fake hill. Spent to much time looking on the wrong side of the hill. But loved the view of my homeland from here. Another favourite awarded. Tftc tnln
Last find of 2017. Found on the first day of a five day wander through the high country. No issues on this one, found in one of the first places that I looked.
I don't think I have ever walked to here before, but have skiied here plenty of times.
Cheers

Thwarted yesterday when within 200 metres of the cache. Stormy weather circled from about 12noon onwards. We sat for a while in a light shower, in our wet weather gear, and ate a bit of lunch hoping it would pass. The weather started to close in, with some thunder and lightening and very low cloud obscuring. This saw us beating a hasty retreat from the granite, back down the mountain and just made to the Eagles Nest before the heavens opened (others not so fortunate). So much lightening about that the chairlift was closed for the afternoon (as did the Eagles Nest, about 2.30pm) and we got transported down to the village in the Troopies... a highlight in itself. Somewhile later with the storm clearing, the chairlift reopened (not for up), and about a dozen rather wet, bedraggled and ill-prepared walkers came back down, emphasising the fact that you must be ready for the sudden change in weather and conditions.
Today, #1 chair as soon as it opened, saw us up top and walking at 9.15. Left the metal at the Kozzy Lookout, traversed west and up to the Ramshead North and poked about, plotted a course for the cache over at the Ramshead triple peaks (and then to the double South) for next visit, but today was all about Unnamed Peak #4. Glorious sunshine, light breeze, occasional cloud cover, perfect conditions. Cache found in good order. Muggle hubby remarked on how quite often the granite resembled the stony spines of a sleeping, perhaps fossilised dragon... so I left a small pewter dragon as a treasure. We also espied a small blue bear named Paris, rock climbing and admiring the views near GZ. TFTC and to NPWS.

Staying in Thredbo for a few nights whilst we explore the Snowy Mountains with JJCC. With clear skies and sunny weather as the outlook, we decided to make an ascent on the summit of Mount Kosciuszko today. A nice leisurely stroll up the mountain and on the way back down we stopped off and grabbed this cache.
With only 350m from the main Kosciuszko Walk track we changed our minds and decided to head for this one. Once we reached the peak a quick find was made with accurate coordinates. With the cache in hand we signed the log before replacing everything as found. Both the cache container and log are in good condition. Thanks for the cache day1976.
The following TBs came through for the mileage: Bob geoMinion, Dave geoMinion, Evil geoMinion, Jerry geoMinion, Larry geoMinion, Mary Hyde's Treasure, Stuart geoMinion, teamMerlin's 7 Deadly Ducks Tag (Lust), Vanlith The Youngling, Race against myself & VerdeFrog
Gained 265 of unloved days.

I made it 5m off, but by looking in the obvious place and the tell tale signs of overturned stones it was a quick find.
Just like the Cairngorms up here, ie fantastic and great to get off the boardwalk.

Having completed Rams Head, headed north directly to GZ, taking care on a up and down path to GZ. Quite a spectualar day with perfect conditions and only a light breeze. Another quick find with the coloration of the rocks a good indicator. More great views espically of the snow patches still left in places in the area.
Thanks for bringing me out here, well worth the effort. Favorite[^]

TFTC day1976
A trip to Kosciuszko NP was planned after Day1976 proposed an event at Mt Townsend.
We drove up to Charlottes Pass early today and jumped on the Mountain Bikes to get us up to Rawsons Pass. The weather was not the sunny beautiful day we'd been forecast, instead it was extremely windy and very cloudy which meant we only saw glimpses of the views which surrounded us. We hadn't expected the cold either and I was very glad o packed my rain/wind jacket! Arriving at Rawsons Pass we locked up the bikes and headed off on foot into the clouds.
Our mission today (tomorrow is the event) was to reach the Rams Head and see if the cache was still there.
This was cache #2 for the day. Almost got blown away getting to GZ but once there it was a quick find. The sun was beginning to break up the clouds here and show us the awesome views, but still for only a brief moment before they swallowed them up again. I was happy to see the elevation at 2190, getting close to the top of Australia now!

TFTC found on a beautiful clear, sunny day. Left the track on a 400m vertical ascent, came down a little more gently. Impressive view without the peak crowds.

On holiday at Thredbo for a few days. Today we caught the chair lift up and walked to the top of Kosciuszko. On our return a couple of us did a diversion to grab this cache. Soon found. Then it was a rush back down to catch up the rest the group. TFTC.

Took about 15 mins to hunt this one down after reaching GZ as it was well hidden. Although it was windy I was quite happy as this is a lovely spot away from the masses on the main path. Def a fav point for the location alone. TFTC
You would expect that after Xmas would be a time when a simple mountain adventure would be without incident.
Should have packed the crampons and ice axe.
The bananas got near the treasure taking a shortcut up the glacier.
But
On nearly beating the obstruction we found ourselves back near the start.
It was a true adventure of Snakes and Ladders.
We rolled the dice again.
Simular result.
And then the obvious conclusion.

my buddy and I decided to hike the trails up to Kosciuszko from the village today. almost immediately I spotted the hide location, but didn't investigate deep enough. on a second run through with the spoiler photos, I made the find. TFTC! dropped a trackable. greetings from Canada
Found with The Matetrix, a great effort on his part, the first of a few for the day. Not bad for an 8 year old. LNSL TFTC Took TB
A quick detour from the main track to find this beauty. Love the views and all the ants walking along that metal track below. Snow is not a problem and cache was found. TFTC day1976.
Plenty of snow up here for November but a circuitous approach followed by a bit of a scramble brought me safely to GZ. Had what appeared to be a really accurate GPSr position up here but spent a lot of time searching in the wrong spot. After about 10 minutes I tried the other side more in hope than expectation and spotted the hide almost immediately. The spoiler didn't help me much and I found it difficult to correlate with the outcrop, although this might have been something to do with the bright sunlight which made reading my phone difficult. Really enjoyed the expedition and definitely worth a FP. Regrettably had no time to carry on for the others in this series but will definitely attempt them on my next visit. TFTC day1976!
With summer almost upon us, we decided to duck up to the high plains to see everything the mountains have to offer in the late spring. We were originally going to take the nice stroll out here yesterday but the weather was a bit ick, so we left it for today when the weather was less ick.
Well, someone forgot to press send on the email to old Mother Nature that Spring was about wound up and she better start gearing up for the hot summer months.....as the big hills were suffering from the worst case of ice cream we have ever seen, either that or a dandruff convention had just taken place, as the pretty wild flowers that we were supposed to be greeted with were buried under a few metres of snow!
But as we are not sissy cachers, we threw on the winter gear, grabbed a pair of snow shoes, and shuffled our way out here for a bit of a look.....with snow shovel on board just in case.
And it turns out that I wasn't the only loony out here today as there were also a few other groups shuffling along at a much more younger pace than me, and going by the whistling and waving at one point, were a bit concerned that I veered off course and started to head out into nowhere,.....well it wasn't "nowhere", it was "here".
And when I finally puffed my way into "here", I was greeted with the tops of big rocks mostly covered and surrounded by the aforementioned ice cream, so out came the spoiler photos, and after a bit of standing back and identifying the tops of rocks, the digging started.......
So dear reader, through the magic of television, the very cold cache was finally extracted from its deep freeze hidey hole and the book was opened up to a blank log sheet.....huh, look at that....first to find.
So I signed my life away and dropped off a new trackable of ours that will start its own adventures off into the world from here.
So them I continued on to the highest dunny in Australia to try and find the cache there and do some other top secret caching stuff, but as it turned out, I couldn't even find the whole toilet block as it was buried under about 12 feet of snow!
So I ate lunch in a massive snow storm, then shuffled my way back to the chairlift.
I tell you what Day, it doesn't get any better than this, makes an old man quite happy.
Cheers

This series has been a while in the making, lots of emails to and fro between parks NSW and Day. Finally approval was received, so off we went. A fantastic time was had placing these caches as well as finding the other caches in the area. A great walk on the rooftop of Australia. I really love walking in this area and the caches make it even better. I signed the log book on the day of placement but waited for FTF before logging it.
