No luck today.
We looked and looked for about 30 minutes. Maybe the CO could confirm that the cache is still there as it has been a wee while since the last find? Cheers

Enjoying the weekend in CHCH to attend the beer festival. Some geocaches collect being in town. TFTC
A lovely day for a bike ride today. But after looking at the final uphill Mr. 6 decided he'd rather go rock climbing. After scrambling up the rocks on the right of the road and admiring the view we headed back towards Rapaki Rocks and stopped here to find the cache. First I guessed wrong and headed for the rock bench but after admiring another lovely view we hit GZ. We circled the rocks and poked in likely spots. I found the cache on my second circuit, sure I'd looked there already... All in good order. Tftc.
We are at level 2 so geocaching is permitted.

Due to the government ordered Covid-19 lockdown, I will be doing my bit to #slowthespread. From 11.59pm on Wednesday 25 March 2020.
The virus can survive on plastic and paper for longer than three days
If you would like a geocaching related activity to do while you are observing the lockdown, I welcome messages about how to solve my puzzle caches - I am happy to give hints and tutorials so you have lots of new caches to find when this is over.

Today we walked from Kiwi Sign to Lyttleton and passed this cache. The weather was perfect ( after a rainy night) and we had many stunning views on both sides of the trail!
Thanks for hiding and greetings from a german couple!

A beautiful day to be out in the hills and finding some caches!!! a few people out and about. TFTC!!
Quick find on this Sunday close to Hallowe'en (in fact we were munching some left-over treats on our caching-trek). TFTC
During a nice hike together with 8ManAfter we found this geocache. As the sun was shining, we had a fabulous day. TFTC
#3,323: Spooky Smiley!
I came to this one on a nice winter's day with DieMannschaft and family. We parked up at the top of the Rapaki and had a great walk around. All caches were found in good shape!

With the recent rain we wanted to go for a walk without too much mud - so the sumnit road was perfect for this. Found the 2 caches on the way, TFTC
Took the opportunity to enjoy a sunny, fine and relatively warm autumn afternoon in the Port Hills. Walked from the 'road end/road closed' carpark at Rapaki to Mt Pleasant and back - around 13 kms, finding geocaches as we went. This was one of those.
A straightforward find. Yet another somewhat scary event! Cache in order; log signed, then cache safely re-hidden, just as found.
I visited here with team geocacher zboy wonder.

Found while walking the crater rim walkway from the sign of the kiwi to lyttelton, Tftc!
Also a speedy find at this one... and this chap is missing his torso too! TFTC x
#15177. We took opposite sides of the pile of rocks, and it turned out the cache was on my side. TFTC.
We had a sit down on a rock seat not far from the cache and shared a Cherry Ripe. When we got to GZ, SW went to one side of the rocks and I the other. Invigorated with the sugar rush, he soon found the cache. TFTC.
Whoops logged a DNF by mistake, will rectify by deleting it when we get home! Found with campmotherandken after a short search today TFTC
Found really quickly. Have enjoyed the walk on a geat day with cooler temps. Just cannot see why this road is closed. TFTH
FITW ivss_xx
I decided to take ivss_xx on an adventure as usually he takes me! We steamed up Stan Helms and then fast walked along summit road to pick these up. So many rocks everywhere but surprisingly found it quite quickly! Love the little skeletons!
These hills are my favourite place in Christchurch!
Only got 2 in the series as it was getting late and we still had to get to Sumner for a mystery cache before going home to make dinner.

GGNZ decided to take me out on a geocaching adventure instead of other way around how it normally is. We fastwalked up from Lyttelton via Stan Helms track and then had a little stroll on Summit Rd before descending back down. It was getting late so we left the next ones in the series for another day and turned back to go down via Bridle Path after finding this one.
Despite lots of potential hiding places, GGNZ got her hands on the cache quite fast.

The first time was a muggel at these stones, but at the way back I could find the box under one of the 1000000 rocks.

A gorgeous day, so I decided to head out for a walk - and naturally find some caches too of course! So I decided to finish this bit of the summit rd and plotted a route out.
It was much hotter than I'd expected for a late April day, and the route was much longer than I'd expected - and I was without water! Argh! All I had was the baby, GPS, and spare batteries/pens! And one apple. Haha.
I had already finished the apple by this point, and this was find number one.
Not too tricky - noone has signed the physical logbook since mrdan01 though...

On the end of a bike tour, sightseeing by recumbent bike in and around Christchurch today. TFTC.
Today I decided it was finally about time to make a bigger dent in the caches on the Port Hills, so from the 'end' of the the Summit Road by Rapaki Track I walked along the road to Kahukura, then cached my way back to the car. Awesome weather to be up in the hills, with great views the whole time - all familiar, but from a different angle. So satisfying to tick more and more caches off my too-lazy list! This took much longer than it should have. Ended up being not far from where I first searched, and right underneath where I had put my backpack down. Left it a bit easier for the next person . Had an opportunity to walk along the Summit Road for the first time during an overnight work visit to Christchurch. Parked at the Gondola end of the closed road and walked the road just past the Tors. What an incredible view from up here!
Seeing the damage to the road from rockfall and cliff collapse below the gondola was sobering. Castle Rock was impressive and beautiful.
Although there were quite a few hint objects to investigate, I spotted the cache quickly. TFTC

Out on a bike ride on a perfect Canterbury spring day. I stopped by for a couple of Spooky caches I had failed to find in the past. 2x quick finds today. Cheers Nel.
Had a fantastic hike up the Rapaki track today, along the Summit Rd, back down part of the Mt Vernon Farm Park and over to the Rapaki track collecting caches all along the way - woohoo! What a blast - although it was pretty chilly this morning, but warmed up a little this afternoon. My thin North Island blood didn't enjoy the temperature, but loved the hike. TFTC
This one took me a while to locate, too many of those rocks around... scary cause they all look like they have been recovered from along summit road and placed there post EQ.
Quite disconcerting the mount of divots in the road from rocks bouncing. Enjoyed the walk.
Last one for us today as we headed back to the car. Thanks for placing these caches. TFTC.
Great to have some caches along these Summit Road walks again, will come back another day to get the rest.
We ran past here about 3 weeks ago and stopped at the other caches in this series. Some how we missed this one. Happy to get it today. It was nice and sheltered at GZ so stopped for a snack and drink stop. I think we annoyed a sheep and her 2 lambs who turned up to also take advantage of the shelter. Whoops, hopefully they found somewhere else. TFTC
Don't now why I couldnt find it last time. Climbing rocks in cycling shoes doesn't help. Still all sorted TFTC
Decided to do a caching bike trip along the closed part of the Summit Road. Found with a bit of hunting. TFTC
Took some time to find this. All over the place but got there in the end. Tftc
After dropping my Daughter off at work at Whitebait Studios a little geocaching was in order and decided to complete or attempt some of these up here. What an astroid feild but eventually found it. There's a nasty frount moving in from the south reckon I have one more to get before it starts to rain fingers crossed
Cheers for the hide. All in good order.
On a Sunday Walk. Great Place with good Views.

Finished work early and have to meet someone at home for a delivery of decking and had an hour up my sleeve to knock off a few close to home caches. Stunning view today, you can see for miles.
I jumped on my bike and headed out to grab some spooky caches.
This guy was a bit in pieces too. Quick find.
Thanks for the cache.

TFTC. Margareta and I made a nice walk along the trail and the Summit Road. Fantastic view and a few caches were logged during our walk.
Nearly blown off the road a few times and the wee doggies too but they battled on. Phew cache found quickly only one more to go. Cheers buddy.
Found while out for a walk today with Rincwind3 and Not manlyjack. Very Very windy up here today. TFTC. Cheers Bo
Found while on quite an adventure with Not Manly Jack (Mrs R3) and Bo&bronnie. The three of us had a great walk up here - for more see my log on Spooky Darling - Jogger's tibia here http://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LUID=a4434dfc-c2ba-4cb7-ae99-fccb6ad19762

No luck today.
Hint next to useless. Watch out there is broken glass in some of the more obvious places to search. At this point I gave up.

Ran past the first time, came back to it, my GPS was circling me around, read the hint argh!! Read some logs and found the wee pointer another cacher had kindly left. Nice wee series good excuse to get out in the hills again tftc
In preparation for a cycle race next weekend I needed to do some hill work. So I tasked myself for a ride up Rapaki Track and what better reward could there be than receiving smilies for the 4 Spooky Darling caches along the Summiit Road? .
This time I hung back well behind the muggle, who had plagued me at the 2 previous caches, and so could search unhindered. The many rocks there caused me to think of the infamous Titanic Erractic cache on the West Coast. Fortunately this hide was not as problematic. Thanks for the cache.

We had a pleasant walk along the closed section of road which we thought was car free. Imagine our surprise to have a car come round a corner straight at us. After we got over the shock we had an easy find. TFTC
Arrived at GZ, and grovelled around the edges of the obvious locations. Given the area, and the previous one where the coords were well out, got a bit grumpy. Got even grumpier after reading the 'hint'. Was about to walk away, when I spotted it. Coords are actually pretty good. I left a couple of 'pointers'...
I used to bike to work past here, up Rapaki and down the Bridle Path, back in the day. Great to see everything open up there again these days, I got a bit sick of going past there after the quakes when I "wasn't allowed"
FTF 1205am
Out and about at night. just "passing by" LOL.
Nice walk in from Summit Rd end (beside Rapaki track end/start) at night. Cool stars and moon.
Quick find and sign (returned as found). No one but a possum for company.
